Caltin normally was not this dismissively annoying… wait… yes he is. Anyway, the big man nodded acknowledging the new Jedi, as well as Masters Ike aND Jairdain. Sitting in his sear and entering his codes into the panel on his armrest. Finally looking up, he had an answer to give.
Sorry about that but I wanted to get that file out. Just an old training text. Anyway, what’s going on on Batuu?
There wasn't normally much that was happening on the planet of scoundrels, but that was a long time ago. It would be worththe time to go. Nodding in agreement, Caltin pulled up a couple of more files and saved them to his Vambraces before logging out.

Recalling the old Batuuan Ballad brought back some fond memories as well as annoying ones.
"Standard restoration mission. Malcolm has an idea for what to do to restore the temple and work with the local populace... So it has been approved." She said it with a nod of her head while the other masters around the council chambers. She had more to do so they could set everything up and the others needed to pack while she was looking at Caltin with a bow of her head. "There is a dossier set up and in the system detailing what was shown, any information you are able to provide can be beneficial to the teams that are being sent in and the advance scouts will be getting dispatched soon." She gave a nod when she was looking at it and transferred it to her interface
Letting out a sigh of relief when Matsu said she could pack, there were a few things she knew she needed to take. Not just changes of clothes either. Keeping silent for now, she did her best to look over the sketches with her fingertips.
Everybody made an imprint, and while she couldn't read any of the writing, she could get an idea of the drawn image if there were any. As the other Masters made their reasons to join or not, Jairdain made mental notes of the ideas from the pictures.
She felt Caltin's arrival through the Force and smiled slightly as he walked in. He was an old friend and always welcomed by her.
"Welcome, Master Vanagor."
Speaking after Malcolm did, she continued to wear the smile until he took his seat. Knowing this was just how the man was, she took no offense at his not responding immediately. Once he did, they got back into the heart of the meeting.
Planning this trip wouldn't take too much effort from her, and she knew this. Once they arrived, her work would really begin.
"It will be interesting to finally visit Batuu again. I haven't been there since I was a padawan," Malcolm said. "When I was last there, the antiquities shop had a fairly large statue of Jedi origin, presumably looted by Dok-Ondar back in the days of the Empire. It was kept next to the spire of obsidian that gave Black Spire Outpost its name."

Caltin was initially more interested in checking out an old haunt and stomping grounds. Matsu was the tech person here so anything they needed for the outpost was more or less her show. Then there was the mention of an old annoyance.
That swindler? He never admitted it, but he had my first Lightsaber. Denied it nine ways to Benduday claiming he would never keep one but turn it in as he had Master Mundi’s weapon clipped to his belt.
The thought used to irritate the big man, but now it is actually a funny memory. He never pressed it, but Caltin took solace in the knowledge that the Jedi would, and did “come back”. He had a new Lightsaber, two of them (CONSERVATOR and VANGUARD), but this was his first. It was sentimental and while that might be considered an “attachment”, it was also a question of the Ithorian collector's ethics.
We can look and see if one he looted from the Kyber Temple on Jedha is there as well.
He had never met Chirrut Imwe but had heard the stories about how the Guardian of the Wills was talked into allowing a statue to be taken. It was under the guise that “Dok” was going to put it “in the light”.
That made the big man log into the holonet from his chair and pulled up as much holonet information about the “Den of Antiquities” as he could.
We should be prepared to have to shell out credits as a contingency. I know Master Ike is capable in that regard, but I am as well. Not to mention, I’m willing to bet the majority of what we will be looking for in or around the Spire will be there.
She bowed for them and listening to Caltin and Malcolm... had a plan coming into her mind while she walked dismissing the otherrs and the high council chambers opened. The other masters dispersing while she went to go and make sure they had all of the things needed. Arisen and biots needed to go with some of the scouts to be set up and establish. The choushin itself would need to be transplanted to the heart of it and agena with the stone. From here on the high plane she could see much of what was being worked on. She moved going towards the lift as the council chambers ceiling opened to reveal the upper dome looking out onto the surface of the high plane. Massive envinronmental plates that could shift and adjust the area to the needs and liking, jedi training as their different robes gleamed. Matsu walked past some of the advisors that they sent out. The tech division was loading crates with what they needded and it was being transported to the ship that had moved in.
Malcolm looked over at Caltin. "Wait... you've MET Dok-Ondar? He was 245 years old 860 years ago, and contemporary holojournals I've found joked that he had a shiny candy-meiloorun red landspeeder parked out back in Smuggler's Alley for his mid-life crisis. He can't still be alive these days, can he? I've never met an Ithorian over a five hundred years old."
Jairdain thought she had traveled pretty extensively in her lifetime. Even though she felt that way, she knew many places to visit. Batuu was another one, and she looked forward to helping rebuild the Temple. It would also be nice to go there with people who knew where things were, who to do business with and who to avoid. They might also know of places to shop and sleep. Listening to Caltin and Malcolm talk, she knew she would be relying on the two of them.
When she heard Malcolm's tone of shock, she couldn't help but smile. Even she had lost a few years...not nearly as many as Caltin, but enough to last her a lifetime. This was not her place to explain what happened, and she waited to hear what Caltin had to say.

Caltin was genuinely surprised and curious at the reaction from Ironmaster. Did he not know? It wasn't much of a secret as ir was in his file. What was curious about this was the fact that the Jedi seemed excited to “finally meet Him in person.”
Oh well, not a big deal.
I have indeed met him. You see, I fought in the Clone Wars, helped evacuate the Coruscant Temple, and survived the Purge and was even there when Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, and Garm Bel Iblis officially declared Rebellion.
The big man shrugged. It was a bit of a surprise, but it was fine. If he didn't know, he didn't know. Of course that could mean a lot more invasive questions coming. He didn't want to spend the trip doing that, but … it was what it was.
Matsu remained where she was... breathign in and out before she was heading to the ship and the crew was welcoming her. Loading up the drop pods with deployable chapter houses as well as the medical and forward operating bases. Fighters and verssels that would be able to help them out as needed aand she could see they were loading up the jedi empress tanks.. the sleek purplee and black design stacking with the gravity lattice so that it could be stored properly. She had plenty of space and time for them to come and join her while she found a seat in the central area of the ship and the agena of it gleamed in the floor and walls. The ship was like a living thing thanks to the central tree that pulsed with life and energy... connecting to the jedi who were there and connecting them to the other vessels as well as temples. The choushin trees were a network across the universe.
"Ah. You're a lot older than you look. Got it," Malcolm said. He'd heard a lot about certain Masters of the Silver Jedi Order, but due to his... unorthodox training and trials, not to mention his particular field of study, he hadn't encountered many of the members of the Council, and some stories seemed to be the stuff of legend rather than fact. "I'd likely enjoy hearing more about your exploits and adventures in greater detail, if you're so inclined to share those stories."
The Jedi musketeer loaded his crate of gear into the ship as they prepared to get underway.
She waited, letting them converse while they were loading their gear into the vessel. The captain standing there for the ones who arrived as Matsu spoke. "This is the captain for the vessel. Nara Windu of the children of the jedi." She said it while moving through the ship and the sight of Jara Mistwalker as the large bear welcomed her warmly. Fur fluffy and wonderful before she pulled back and looked at him. "It is good to see you my friend outside of the credit vaults... all of that swimming it paying off for you." SHe said it with a smile on her face when she was looking around for a few of the others. "It is good to see you grandmaster, we have been looking at the designs you sent and have religated the funds for it plus some extra. THe economic circle is improving by the day and exapnding." THe jedi masater gave a nod as the ship waited until the others were in before going off and it was spinning up its engines to clear enough. THe image of the high planes gatekeeper there watching always. The ship could make the trip fast enough and the holomaps were showing the course with a vertical jump that would take them to Batuu.
The jedi master looked at it and the large ship moved, leaving the high plane as the massive station platform. High above the galacti plane aas it could look upon it. The sleek silver ship spun up. "Engaging." The commander said it while Matsu took a seat and hyperspace travel with the ship was easier thanks to some of the improvements but the Omnis hyperdrive was an impressive beast as it dropped out as soon as it entered... they had it designed to be able to fold space rather then just travel through it. She found a place to observe and stowing equipment for a long trip wasn't the problem... the travel time finished before she was moving and observing everything on the scans and systems. "Welcome to Batuu." She had a small tight lipped grin on her face witrh that.... there wasn't a whole lot of danger after all in this situation. "THe shuttle will be able to get down quickly enough and we have the teleportal system for quick extraction should it be needed."
Malcolm nodded, abuzz with excitement. "I've been dreaming of this for quite some time. Most of my time in the Order has been spent on more civilized worlds. To finally get out to the Trilon sector and see how life is on the edge of wild space, well, I'm excited to explore the ancient Temple and see what's left of it." He grabbed his gear and hefted it onto his shoulder, heading for the shuttle bay.

Caltin didn’t really talk about the past, it was where it belonged, behind him. However if it kept Ironmaster from being some kind of fanboy so be it. Nothing terrible meant to the historian, certainly he was a good guy, but really, the big man was just trying to be “just another Jedi.”
Not that it ever worked.
At least in this dynamic, he did not have someone approaching him with an ulterior motive, like someone looking for training and nothing else. That was a conversation for another time though. As he read through his files, Caltin was also using his Vambrace to pull up more information he had on Batuu. There was also the matter of his ship “Specter.”
[”Roller” get the ship going and follow my signal. I’m hitching a ride on this Silver ship.] The droid did not seem too happy about it, but did as told, Caltin in the meantime walked up the loading ramp and found a seat in the common area. It was time to do some review of his own personal logs from so long ago. It was amazing that the files lasted so long in the system of his old ship crashed on the ice planet of Rhen Var where he was found.
As he sat in the common room of the ship, Vanagor read up on his files of the planet Batuu. The big man fell back into his 900-year-old memories. The Jedi Purge, the fall of the Galactic Republic, the rise of the Galactic Empire, was a tumultuous time. It would have been so easy to give in and fall into the life of the scoundrel to "survive", but he was a Jedi and always would be. This only strengthened his resolve.
The planet Batuu was a mysterious place, known for its rugged terrain and its inhabitants who preferred to keep to themselves. It was said that the Force was strong on Batuu, and that there were ancient temples hidden deep within its forests. Caltin was newly Knighted and had been sent on a mission to investigate these rumors, to uncover the secrets that lay hidden on this remote world.
As the ship approached Batuu, Caltin felt a sense of unease wash over him. He could sense a darkness lurking beneath the surface, a darkness that threatened to consume him if he let his guard down. But he was a Jedi, trained to resist the temptations of the dark side. He would not falter in his mission.
Stepping off the ship, Caltin was immediately struck by the beauty of Batuu. The lush forests, the towering mountains, the crystal-clear lakes – it was a paradise unlike any he had ever seen. But he knew that danger lurked in the shadows, waiting to strike when he least expected it.
Making his way through the dense forest, Caltin felt the presence of the ancient temples growing stronger with each step. He could sense the power of the Force pulsing through the air, guiding him towards his destination. As he entered the temple grounds, he was greeted by a group of hooded figures, their faces hidden in the shadows.
"Welcome, Jedi Master," one of the figures spoke, their voice echoing through the temple. "We have been expecting you."
Caltin felt a chill run down his spine. Who were these mysterious figures, and what did they want with him? But he knew that he had to stay strong, to trust in the Force to guide him through this trial.
As he delved deeper into the temple, Caltin uncovered ancient artifacts and scrolls that spoke of a great power hidden within Batuu. A power that could tip the balance of the Force in favor of the light or the dark. He knew that he had to protect this power from falling into the wrong hands, no matter the cost.
But as he faced off against the dark forces that sought to claim the power for themselves, Caltin realized that the true test was not in defeating his enemies, but in overcoming his own inner demons. The temptation to give in to anger, fear, and hatred was strong, but he knew that he had to stay true to the Jedi Code.
In the end, Caltin emerged victorious, the power of Batuu safely in his hands. As he boarded the ship to return to the Jedi Temple, he knew that his journey was far from over. The galaxy was still in turmoil, and the dark side continued to threaten the peace that he had sworn to protect.
That was his last official trip as a Jedi Knight for a long time. He returned to Coruscant in the middle of the infamous Jedi Purge. It was madness, the entire Temple was overrun with Clone Troopers, battle hardened soldiers of the 501st that he once had fought alongside(not them in particular). Master Kelleran Beq was formulating a counter-attack for those still alive and capable, the purpose was to get younglings out safely. This was in Caltin’s wheelhouse. He even managed to hold off two squads as the legendary lightsaber instructor managed to get a youngling (who looked remarkably like a young Master Yoda) off of Temple grounds.
It was a fight that was successful, but came at an incredible cost, so many lost Jedi. He barely managed to evade capture and escape the planet. He knew that he had to find a place to hide, away from the danger and chaos. He was determined to continue to fight for peace and justice, no matter what the cost.
But as long as he had the Force by his side, Caltin Vanagor knew that he would never falter in his duty as a Jedi Master. And so, he set off into the stars once more, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
The arrival to the planet was always an impressive sight... the jedi master was descending down as she breathed in the force energies of the planet... connecting with it and her feet touched the ground allowing the force to spread throughout her... she connected to it sending her presence deeper and deeper into the planet. Generation of the force required connection to the planet and that meant connecting to it in a way few others could. She allowed the force to go through her body as the outpost was there and everything beyond. Malcolm hasd the plan and she had the things to go with it while allowing the force to guide her steps lightly. The silver robes forming over her while she was manipulating the matter of the robes at the base level.... THe robes gleaming before she breathed in and then outwards with her hands clasped behind her back. She was walking and led the way towards the shops while she had the chance to take them in.
To say Jairdain might be vain was an understatement but also a mistake. She had spent years tutoring nobility and being an ambassador. Her looks were part and parcel of her past, and she desired to maintain her appearance. When she said she wanted to pack, she wasn't given the time like she had been told she would. Grumbling under her breath, the dark-haired Jedi walked aboard the faction ship and settled in for the journey.
Unlike many, she did not rely on AI or droids. She couldn't even see them in the Force. The forces Matsu brought along meant very little to the Master. They would have their jobs and duties. Nothing that she would interfere with.
Meditating while traveling, she snapped out of it quickly when they arrived. Following the Grandmaster, she wondered if Malcolm and Caltin would join them shopping.
"Shall we head into the market for supplies?" Malcolm asked. "I suspect our interactions with the locals will go more smoothly if we're contributing to their economy. I'd also be interested in checking in with the local salvage operation to see what they've gathered recently."
She gave a nod of her head to them.. they had a plan and she motioned for the others to spread out. The tall blonde biots approaching as they didn't need to speak. THey felt the force.. they could seek it out and lead them where they needed to go. THe grandmaster motioning with a hand while one of them brought a box from the shuttle to deploy a few others. "Security protocols, we have drengir, ambersyn and nameless countermeasures able to be deployed in case of potential danger." SHe said it and motioned so that Jairdain could join her while she moved to stand off to the side. Caltin and Malcolm would see to the trading outpost... the two of them had the better chance to explore. "What are you seeing in the force?"
