SKIRMISH ON ZELTROS [vs. One Sith]

Well apparently I was writing at the same time as Camellia...so that cargo ship and hopefully most of the sithspawn that came with it have been reduced.

I say that if they somehow magically keep on pulling up Sithspawn, we keep blowing them up...

TAKE CARE OF SHINJU ALREADY BEFORE SHE KILLS US ALL!

XD

I swear if he's like right behind Cam that'd be hilarious. . . "What were you doing in there?'

Also why are our guys airstriking the spaceport before our ground forces lost it. . . you are attacking civilians and our own men. . . .the Sith are laughing at how we are helping them now.

XD

I know I am the last person anyone wants to hear from but keep this in mind.

The more stuff that gets blown up now is less they have to conquer in the actual invasion thread.

The result of this skirmish will have a great deal of effect in the balance of the Invasion thread and as we all know they don't need the extra help.

Some people thought it was a good idea to bring in some air assets, with me perhaps being the biggest proponent. However, I'm pretty sure no one was on board coming in guns blazing, because we are operating in a densely populated friendly area. Didn't think a ROE need to be spelled out. I have a sniper in the palace garden, but I'm not tearing into him right now with a mess blaster fire and grenades. While I appreciate the Gir showing up, there wasn't a need for that. Air assets were meant as a precaution, and a tool to increase situational awareness. There's plenty of things you can do outside of airstrikes, but I just assumed that was known. ISR, transport, coordination between our various groups, etc. In support scenarios, the air assets work at the discretion of ground forces, and try to limit collateral damage. If you got cowboys, then tell them to cut it out. But that can of worms has now been open.

While this skirmish is starting to escalate, it's serving as a useful exercise to discover our deficiencies. Better that we found out our problems here than in an invasion scenario. After this skirmish, I think we need to have a discussion about the mllitary response, maybe ICly.

The military is built but not tested on the basis of combined arms. Not what I had intended to do with the revamp but something I tired my best to support when that decision was made. The intention at one point was to get into some training scenarios on this concept before applying it in a skirmish or Invasion scenario.

This was something I advocated heavily for to the point of recommending that people not do skirmishes until such a thing could be worked out. However I was ridiculed for this approach amongst other things.

If I understood the stipulations of this invasion correctly air assets were intentionally left out of the intended approach to the skirmish in favor of leaving things on the ground. However that does leave out the ability of half of our military to participate in the scene. So I can understand how we got here as nobody wants to be left out.

[member="Maximus Stanforth"] I thought some of you Army/Spec Op guys to show up rather than Navy, though I was happy to see some NFUs around. At most, I hadn't been expecting anything more than the SW equivalent of some helis and drones. I didn't believe it would spiral out of control like that. Among other things, this skirmish is showing me that we're not exactly on the same page with our procedures. It's funny that you mention the lack of training, because that's why I decided to keep Jaxon on the sidelines. If you or any of the other Army guys want some training threads, then I'm down. I'm already planning to do some threads with another guy working on an airborne/shock trooper unit.

Ekul Selah is alone, holding himself against two Sith Acolytes, or at least one for now, the other is watching. And it is going fairly well. Here is a video adaption of just how well:

PS, some notes to take on board if you're going to contact Ekul Selah or help him.

*Ekul Selah went missing after the Sacking of Coruscant as he was unable to escape the planet, and lived in hiding for nearly seven months. No one has heard from him, and thus he is presumed dead. The Jedi Philosophies thread in his timeline takes after the skirmish. So if you plan to contact Ekul, it can't really happen. He doesn't have a communicator and no one knows he is alive. He's just a rat in the gutters.
