Valery raised an eyebrow at Kahlil's brief response, a playful yet dangerous glint in her eyes. "A wild spirit, huh?" she repeated, her voice light but laced with a teasing edge, as though he might have gotten himself into a bit of trouble. She squinted at him for just a second before her grin broke through, her amusement impossible to hide.

"I'll remember that."

Turning her gaze toward Azurine, Valery softened. "Looks like you're finally awake," she said with a gentle smile. "We'll be arriving soon, and the kids will be eager to meet you. Hope you're ready for their energy." There was a warmth in her voice, an invitation for Azurine to feel more at ease despite everything.

She reached out to grab a plate of pancakes, the simple act bringing a sense of comfort to the moment. As always, Kahlil's quiet strength grounded the atmosphere, and Valery knew that no matter what challenges awaited them, they could handle it as a team.

"Eat up. You're going to need your strength." The triplets especially were not easy to handle.

Azurine was lost in her own thoughts, probably for longer than she wanted to be. That image in her nightmare; the fact that she'd seen it before, sat with her in a terrifying way. She shook her head, trying to push it to the back of her mind to bury it, at least for now. Her attention was brought quickly back to Valery and Kahlil and how they spike to one another. Though she cracked a smile, her heart felt a tug if greived longing. Their auras had an unmistakable link, one she recognized too well.

"Your wild spirit."

Kahlil's words made her chuckle. The amount of times she had been told that or overheard someone talking about her using that same term were far too many to count. Kynn used to call her a spitfire, Raeth however tended to use 'little-chit'. She had always taken such pride in her inner fire. Honestly, she took it as a compliment. It made her feel more like maybe she hadn't completely lost the entirety of herself being so displaced from the world.

"I'll have you know that I've been called way worse. In fact, I appreciate the observation," she teased.

As she was passed the plate of pancakes, she had to continue to force the smile even though the thought crossed her mind that this was not necessarily going to go too well for her. She remembered the first time she'd attempted to have a pastry that Archibald tried to share with her, and that was the point when her team learned they needed to keep some kind of strict carnivore option on hand.

"Thanks."

She didn't want to look ungrateful because the effort Kahlil must have put in for her sake was such a kind gesture. They had done so much for her already in this mad reality she'd found herself in. Even then, the growl of her own stomach made her a little bit desperate as well. Sure, her body would hate her for it later, but she'd cross that bridge when she got there. So, she took it, unculring her body from the chair.

She had heard the mention of children before, but it hadn't properly registered in her brain until now. Though she didn't quite know how to handle that situation given everything she had just done in the last few hours, generally, she had always been good with children if her history was anything to go by.

"What're they like?" she finally asked after swallowing another bite of food and ignoring the unhappy feelings coming from her stomach.

"You both seem to assume it's something bad."

Kahlil chuckled some as he gave Valery her plate before he took a seat. He blinked though, tilting his head as he watched Azurine eat. There was a hesitation there, and not the type from someone who didn't like pancakes. For now though he kept quiet, but, he was watching. If she wasn't okay that'd be something he'd have to make sure not to do in the future.

"They're pretty wild."

Valery laughed softly at Kahlil's comment, her eyes shimmering with a mixture of affection and exasperation. "Wild doesn't even begin to cover it," she said with a grin. "They've got enough energy to power a ship, I swear. Aurra is fairly quiet though, and she always tries to keep her siblings in check. Adam is constantly exploring, always looking for something new to do. And Aeryn..." She shook her head, her smile widening. "She can get into trouble faster than I can deflect a blaster bolt."

Her gaze shifted to Azurine, her expression softening. "But they're also the sweetest little things, and they'll be over the moon to meet you. They're always curious about anyone new, especially someone training with their father or me." Valery's tone carried a warmth that spoke of how deeply she cherished her children. The image of her three little ones greeting Azurine flashed in her mind, and it filled her with quiet excitement.

Before the conversation could continue, the hum of the ship's engines shifted, signaling their exit from hyperspace. The view through the cockpit window expanded into a breathtaking panorama of Niv Hani, the lush Epicanthix colony glowing beneath the stars. Verdant forests and rolling mountains stretched across the planet's surface, bathed in the soft light of their sun.

"Home sweet home," Valery murmured as the Bastion descended, her gaze lingering on the tranquil beauty of the planet below. She then closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath as she focused on the Force, "I can already feel them."

Turning to Azurine, Valery smirked again, "Brace yourself," she added with a chuckle. "The kids will probably be waiting at the landing pad, and trust me, they're going to be very excited."

Azurine couldn't help but think about her life long before the Empire had come and destroyed everything. The way Valery talked about her children made her wonder what her life might have looked like if her family hadn't been so brutally wiped out. She likely never would have met her group in the rebellion .... wouldn't have ended up here 900 years later.

"Funny, my mother used to say the same thing," she said quietly, but with a bit of a laugh. At least that would wasn't near as fresh as everything else, given it had ten years to start its healing. She gave a small smile, though. She'd always been the youngest in her family. She'd been one of the youngest in the family she'd built for herself before this as well.

The image from her nightmare flashed through her mind, and she cringed. Of course, she was worried about it. She didn't want anything bad to happen when she knew how volatile her soul was right now, but she didn't want to think about that right now. It would be fine, everything would be fine. She had to believe that.

She felt a bit of relief the moment the ship had pulled out of hyperspace and moved through the atmosphere of the planet towards the destination. She put the plate down, only half finished, and hoped that the small amount wouldn't be enough to make her too sick later. The view of the planet through the windows was beautiful, sending a flash of wonder through her eyes.

Azzie took a quick deep breath and nodded. She stood, though still a bit unsteady and exhausted, having to grip the edge of the ship to steady herself, but was ready nonetheless.

Kahlil was quiet as ever as he watched Azurine eat. As a long time cook, he wanted people to enjoy his meals. But, there was something here he felt he was forgetting. It took a moment before he blinked. "Oh." His expression softened as he took the remnants of the pancakes Azurine had eaten and turned to give Valery a nod. She was kind for eating it, but, well.

"It's good Valery is a damn good cook for burgers and the like." Zabrak were Carnivores. He didn't like that he'd forgotten that, but, at least now he and Valery would know for next time. Hopefully he didn't make her too sick.

"We'll land in a moment."

Valery's expression brightened as Kahlil complimented her cooking, a warm smile touching her lips. "I don't know about 'damn good,' but I'll take it," she replied with a playful glint in her eyes. "Though, your steaks are something else. We make a pretty good team in the kitchen."

There was an easy, affectionate flow between them, the exchange of compliments reflecting their bond. Moments like these, even in the midst of their chaotic lives, kept them grounded and connected.

As the Bastion touched down on Niv Hani, Valery rose from her seat and shot Kahlil a look of excitement. Together, they descended the ramp, and there, standing in the doorway of the house, was Vera, holding little Eryx in her arms. The triplets clustered around her, their faces lighting up when they saw their parents.

They could not hold their excitement any longer.

"Mommy! Daddy!" they shouted in unison, their small feet thundering against the ground as they bolted toward their father. Valery's smile deepened as she watched the familiar scene unfold. Their children wanting to get lifted into the air effortlessly by their father, and the flailing arms of Eryx in the distance, waiting for his Mom to pick him up again.

They were home.

Azurine noticed the moment that Kahlil clearly put two and two together, and she sighed, looking to the side. Had she been awake enough to explain that before they had even left, she might not have ended up in this situation. On the bright side, it's not like she could be poisoned by a pancake, and even then, just the small amount she'd had shouldn't cause TOO much of an issue. She had learned exactly how much of different sugars she could handle before she'd end up feeling like her insides wanted to torture her since leaving Iridonia. She figured that worst-case scenario, it would be the equivalent to mild lactose intolerance. That she could handle relatively well.

"I'm sorry ... you went to all that trouble for me, and I didn't want you to feel badly. I uh ... we don't actually taste sweetness either, at least not much," she said, rubbing the back of her neck. Yes, she could pick up on subtle sweetness, but it wasn't intense like with other species. She smiled a bit when she realized how quickly they seemed to just accept the difference and move forward without thinking twice about it.

Azzie moved a bit slowly behind them, trying not to look as out of place as she truly felt. She took quick observation, reaslizing that there weren't just three kids here. No, there were five. Wow. Part of her started to think that maybe she wasn't ready for all of this yet. As overwhelming as it was, though, they were pretty adorable. Especially the little one. She did her best to keep to the background, her bag, all of the personal belongings she had left aside from the broken R3-E5 droid, slung over her shoulder.

Kahlil had no problem at all scooping the triplets up in one arm, smiling softly as he did. There was nothing quite like being greeted by his children like this. He smiled to them, glancing to Vera and Eryx with a simple nod. They were home. Though.. He glanced to Azurine briefly before his smile widened. "Vera, can you help me set up a room? And you three, I'll need your help too."

He could keep the triplets busy. He'd take Eryx, but he knew the little mama's boy wouldn't be too pleased with his intervention. For now, though, it'd be best to not overwhelm Azurine too much.

Valery's smile deepened as she watched Kahlil scoop the triplets up with ease, their laughter and squeals filling the air. "Daddy, higher!" they begged, their little arms wrapped tightly around him as they clung to his shoulders. The scene brought a sense of peace to Valery's heart — these were the moments she cherished the most. Family, home, together.

As the triplets giggled and hugged their father, their attention shifted to Azurine. Three pairs of curious eyes blinked at the unfamiliar figure, their natural energy momentarily subdued by intrigue. But before they could rush over, Kahlil spoke up, his gentle voice guiding them to help with setting up a room. The triplets, always eager to be involved, squealed in excitement once again, eager to lend a hand.

Vera, the oldest of the children, stepped forward with baby Eryx nestled in her arms. His wide green eyes scanned the room with innocent curiosity. As soon as Vera handed him over to his mother, Eryx cooed happily, a soft gurgle escaping his lips as he settled comfortably into Valery's arms.

Valery gently rocked him, smiling down at the adorable expression on his little face before turning her attention to Azurine. "Welcome to our home," Valery said warmly, her voice filled with the same nurturing energy that had been extended to Mahsa and all her Padawans over the years. She held Eryx up slightly, his green eyes twinkling with a shy smile. "And this little one here is Eryx."

Eryx cooed again, his tiny hand reaching up to grab a lock of Valery's hair, the gesture drawing a soft laugh from his mother. "He's a bit of a mama's boy," she added with a fond smile, clearly content in the presence of her family.

Looking back up, she added, "I know this can be a little overwhelming, but if you need some space or alone time, your room will be yours. The kids won't bother you there."

Azurine couldn't hold back the chuckle when all three of the triplets ran over and grabbed onto their father, grinning as he singlehandedly grabbed all three of them and lifted them up like it was nothing. Once, a long time ago, she'd hoped that one day when they finally brought down the Empire, she might be able to start a family. Even back then, it was something she didn't fully think was attainable. Like the fantasies of a naive child. Now .... it felt practically impossible.

Before she could fully be brought out of her own thought loop, she caught sight of the three pairs of eyes that were suddenly on her with an almost deafening silence. Her own shifting purple gaze went wide, practically feeling the curiosity of their combined auras radiate like heat off of them. She did her best to crack a smile and gave a small wave, a small bit relieved when Kahlil quickly shooed them off to go take care of setting a place for her. She just needed a minute to settle in before getting bombarded by small children.

"Welcome to our home,"

Valery's words brought her attention fully back to the present. Or the present as it was in that moment, part of her still hoping that all of this was still just one big dream.

Azzie glanced around, a bit on awe of the place. It was a lovely planet in general, and the love that flew off it flooded through her mind. "It's beautiful."

Valery acknowledged her clear sense of overwhelm, but she knew that that wasn't going to just vanish being alone in a space and time she wasn't familiar with. "No, it's alright. They're adorable, and I don't necessarily know if It's the best idea for me to be alone right now anyway," she admitted, her words trailing off as her gaze fell to the ground. She was managing to keep from breaking right now, being surrounded by this presence of love, but she was terrified of how she might fall apart in a space alone.

Her eyes was instantly drawn to the beautiful green gaze of Eryx. He was so adorable. She found herself moving closer, leaning her head over to get a closer look. "Hey, cutie," she whispered, momentarily distracted from all of the pain and the reality of she was still trying to avoid.
