He would smile, a bittersweet one, at her words. It sounded so much like what he'd thought before.
"So was I."
Yes, he'd been Grandmaster... He'd been his own boss and that should have been the end of it. But there was just so much then that... And he didn't fully realize it until he truly looked in the mirror at himself, then at his surroundings...
"I hope it's true. But sometimes... You just have to look in the mirror, at yourself, Kay. Look at everything around you, think long and hard... And consider who is truly in power. Aside from your people, of course... It's possible the answer just might surprise you."
He would turn and walk toward the window, looking out at Commenor...
"It's a pretty place, Commenor is. I hope you'll be able to do it well in the years to come" He would remark softly, with a light smile. "I don't doubt your ability, of course.. You're the best choice they could have made. But remember you're not alone in all this. A Queen alone may not be absolutely nothing... But the Queen alone may not be able to fix what those that work with her may wreck. It's your duty to see the flaws, the moles and the weak links in your system, and deal with them before they can cause problems that you can't fix. Problems that may change the people's decisions, and in that vein... Change the flow of power."
He let out a sigh.
"Because people... Are easily manipulated. All it takes, Kay... Are words.
Sometimes... Sometimes you have to take action to show them the truth, before someone else can deceive them.
Deceit... Lies, manipulation... And the easy to manipulate nature of the masses... Yes, even within the Jedi..."
He closed his eyes a moment.
"... That was my downfall. That was how I fell from the top, to nothing... And how an Order that I loved so much, put my entire life, my heart, my very soul into...
.... Died."
