Spare Time? What's That?

Kay smirked. Was she going to be the first to turn Dark? It didn't really seem possible. But that didn't mean that it could never happen.

She tried to lighten the mood. [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] was retreating in a dark place and she didn't want that. "If I ever became a Sith, I know that you wouldn't give up on me. You'd only lose me if I died. But even then, I'd probably come to haunt you at times, anyways. And there'd be nothing that you could do about it." Kay grinned at him. Oh the possibilities...

Josh let out a sigh. “The Sith have taken a great many things from me, Kay…” He spoke softly, placing a large, and yet soft-skinned hand upon hers. “They kidnapped me and destroyed my teenage years. They killed my father. They took my brother away from me. They’ve taken so many friends… Asha, Jak, Saoirse… if you became one, I don’t know how long I’d be able to hold out before I decide to start hunting those monsters down, you included” Remarked seriously. “Sith are monsters, Kay… Selfish beings with powers that they wish only to control and not to understand. They care only for power… For persona glory, and you being around politics… Well you’re mighty susceptible to all that. You’d be the first they’d target to corrupt because it’ll just be so damn easy. Corrupting a politician is easier then corrupting a child.”

He sighed, and squeezed her hands. “Just… Be careful, okay? I don’t want anything to happen to you… I don’t want to lose you. And I sure as hell don’t want to have to be the one to take you down myself. Besides… Heh. If I have kids, I want to inspire them. How can I do that by killing my friend? Especially who I'd want their godmother to be. I’d never get them to understand why Aunty Kay has an ugly looking mutated grey face with red eyes and looks like she could eat them. Nor why daddy struck a lightsaber in her face” He would joke, smirking lightly. ”

He chuckled then. “On another note… Put any thought into settling down? Having some kids of your own?” He would tease, nudging her playfully. Of course that’s a question he had to ask himself. He and Shmi had been talking for quite awhile about the possibility of settling down and having children. It’d be a big sacrifice, both he and Shmi knew, to their work. But let’s face it. They’d b both been serving nonstop as workaholics ever since the two of them, both of them, were incredibly young. Lessening the schedule as adults and as Jedi Master to pursue other ventures such as starting family was well within the rules of the Jedi, and if the Silver Jedi Order, who’s Grandmaster did the exact same thing himself, had a problem with it? Well, that was too damn bad for them. Because whether people liked to acknowledge it with their goldfish memory and flavor of the month syndrome, Josh had still done plenty and deserved this rest.

Her attempt to lighten his mood didn't work. [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] continued on about everything that he's lost, and what he would do if she turned. And she was an easy target? Ha! She tended to befriend her enemies or at least gain their respect enough for them to leave her alone. Hopefully that never stops.

What he said afterwards gave her a shock. He wanted her to be the godmother to his children? That was such an honour. All that she could do was look at him in shock.

Then he nudged her and bugged her about settling down. "Are you kidding? I haven't the time. And the only date that I've had since my husband died, well that didn't go so well. He wanted to kill me. And I can't have kids anyways, so that narrows down my prospects. So I suppose that my answer is no."

Josh was a man who either befriended or garnered respect from his enemies as well... But he was cautious regardless. He was a man that trusted very few people. So for him to trust Kay was a compliment as it was, to entrust her his own children, when he had spent so much time talking about how much he wanted a family, how much he had dreamed of it...

Well, we'll let Kay chew on that one herself.

Regardless, to her statement, he would only smile lightly. Perhaps a bit somberly. "My condolences" He spoke softly. His condolences indeed. For someone who starting a family was a dream, losing one's spouse, and not being able to conceive was... Well, he couldn't imagine it. It sounded like a nightmare he wouldn't be able to live with.

Part of him wanted to make a morbid "Thank the force I ended up with Shmi then" joke in regards to her being infertile, but... It really wasn't the time. So instead he would merely give her another hug in silence.

Kay furrowed her brows as [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] gave her his condolences, followed by a hug. He already knew that her husband had died a long time ago. So why was he acting this way now? She held him though, confused as ever.

"There's nothing to feel bad about. I've gotten over it. I'm fine."

He knew about her husband, they had covered this. It was more the fact she was infertile that he gave his condolences for. He could almost swear he had told Kay of his dreams to settle down, and be a family man before. So it was hard to imagine what someone would be feeling when knowing they just... Well... Couldn't. Sure, there was adoption, but there was a helplessness to knowing you couldn't do it yourself. That was why he felt bad for her. That was why he comforted her.

But he didn't bother correcting her. He supposed it was possible she meant she was over that too. Or that she didn't care at all about it. Who knows?

So instead, he would merely smile, before slowly releasing his hold. "You're right. I'm sorry" He spoke softly. "Maybe I was just looking for an excuse to grab another embrace from Miss Busy Important Gal while I still have an excuse" Was the next joke to come out of his mouth, and his lips then twitched from smile to cheeky grin.

Kay smirked at his remark. [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] was quite the sentimental type. More so than she'd of imagined. She reached up and ruffled the hair on the top of his head, just as a big sister would. "Careful now. We wouldn't want to get Shmi jealous, now would we?....Not to mention my other fans that would kill to be where you are now..." And some of them would. She knew that she had a few admirers. Whether or not she felt the same about them was another story.

Nothing wrong with that, was there? Jedi were infamous in many rumours for their lack of emotion and living only with what was practical in both teir professional and their personal lives. Sure it was different to have a Jedi who held qualities that were more... Human, but was that truly a bad thing? Josh was Josh. He held emotions, he got emotional when the time came and he made it clear when he cared for someone in the rare time they had done enough to bring the Jedi Master to that destination.

To her remark, he smirked and brought one of his own. "If Shmi wasn't in my life I probably would have arrived with flowers instead of just jokes" He cracked right back, nudging her playtully and ruffling her own hair in turn. "Not like I give a damn about the power you hold. You're Kay to me, no matter the position... Within reason" He teased, playfully sticking his tongue out at her.

Not that he regretted having Shmi in his life nor would he dare defy her. Kay was his best friend, and he certainly would have dated her had he been single... But Shmi was his light.

Kay smirked as [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] remarked about bringing flowers. Of course she had just given him two flower crystals to share with Shmi, so she had already beat him to it with the whole flower thing. However hers was in apology for scaring him with the speederbike ride.

She tried vainly to dodge him as he ruffled her hair. "Ack!!" Kay pushed him back a bit and tried fixing up her hair. "Yeah? Well power comes and goes, my jobs always change, so you'd have to just like me for me. I can't have a best friend that's superficial." She stuck her tongue out right back at him.

"You misunderstood me" He remarked, sticking his tongue out at her. "I mean I'm fine to like you the way you are - so long as you don't turn into an axe murderer or something. Then we'd have to have a talk" He would crack, shooting her a wry little grin.

"It's a shame you were just a little too late to the party, maybe this would have been more then just a social call" Josh would joke, with a laugh, playfully puckering his lips at her for a moment to tease before relaxing back, checking his holo communicator to check up on a few things, including to see if there were any reports on if Shmi had returned to base yet.

Kay laughed at [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] 's remark on being an axe murderer. "I think that using a spoon would be a better tool than an axe. So many things could be done with a spoon..."

She smirked as he puckered his lips at her. With a roll of her eyes, she commented; "Oh yes, real shame...I have to work really hard to resist that face." Then she noticed him checking his communicator. "I suppose that I shouldn't keep here you much longer...We wouldn't want any rumours to start. You've already spent the day with me as it is."

He couldn't help but laugh in turn. "A spoon? Love, what sort of karked up chit are you managing to do with a bloody spoon?" He would remark. This woman was a force user and could wield a lightsaber if she so wished. So how did a spoon become the first thing to come to her mind?

Merely smirking at her comment about his face, he nodded in turn. "Oh, I know. Damn shame. Granted, I don't think you could have handled me anyway. To be frank, I don't think Shmi's prepared to handle what I'm into either" He would tease, looking over from his communicator a moment to shoot her a big, cheeky grin. "She has no idea."

To her question though, he shook his head. "I'm just checking if Shmi's arrived back at base yet. I do this here and there, just me being a worrywart" He would explain. "I don't mind sticking around a little while longer. Besides, I don't get to see you all that often these days."

Kay laughed. "I got the spoon idea from one of my mystery holo-novels." Lots of different tools could be used for weapons. You only need to use your imagination.

She laughed again as he gave that cheeky grin of his. "Oh boy...I suppose that someone should warn her. And as your best buddy...that responsibility falls to me."

A nod of her head followed [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] 's comment of sticking around for a bit. "Alright. I just don't want to keep you from anything. Just think of the rumours..." Kay grinned and winked.

"And here I thought you were just a fan of spooning and was trying to tell me something" He joked in turn with a laugh. This topic seemed to be getting dirtier and dirtier the more it went on. Not that he minded, of course... He was fine to trade banter on this scale as long as she liked. Besides, both sides would end up getting married by the next handful of times they had spoken... Did it matter all that much if they teased each other in that matter?

As she would claim that she needed to inform Shm, he would shrug his shoulders in turn. "I mean, if you want to, go ahead. Maybe I'll even tell you a few things I'm into so you can tell her" He would tease. "Of course... It might make your hair stand up on end. But considering you've been resting for so long, maybe you need the little jolt..." He cracked.

He then proceeded to lean in and whisper a few things pertaining to the topic in Kay's ear... Odds are, if she didn't tell Shmi, he would anyway. And it didn't matter if Kay knew a few little secrets, what was she going to do with it? His reputation didn't mean much to him, and people knew he was a bit of a flirt and had gone to more ambitious conclusions anyway...

Though at her comment and wink, he merely smirked in turn. "Shmi trusts me. That's all I care about" He would respond as he put the communicator away when it was reported back that no, Shmi still had no reported in. He hid his irritation and worry at that.

Kay smirked as [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] turned her innocent comment into something else entirely. Then he leaned in close and told her things that caused her cheeks to flush and her jaw to drop. Here she figured that he was joking, but no, he was telling her secrets that she was sure that she didn't need to know. Of course she had no plans of telling Shmi, nor was she the kiss and tell type. She was a very private person.

After he pulled back, she cleared her throat. "...Well..it's a good thing she trusts you....And uh...next time you can spare me the details."

Kay slowly got up off the bed. She needed to change the topic. But to what? Hmm.... "Any goings on in the Galaxy that I should be worried about?" Politics. Good choice.

Her reaction was... Well, honestly it was the desired reaction and the look that spoke of surprise and possibly something akin to horror spread across her face caused his lips to twitch into a wide grin before breaking out into hysterical laughter and almost falling off his seat in the process. Technically he wasn't kiss and telling since this wasn't anything he and Shmi had done yet, obviously. Yet, anyway... But this was probably the most that Kay had ever seen the Jedi Master laugh. Or most if any Jedi Master most likely, for that matter. For a moment, he was almost like a normal person... Able to laugh with all of the emotion and joy in the world. And yet this was a momentary respite for him... And Kay knew it. For once he'd forgotten everything going through his head...

To her words after, a devious smirk crossed his lips. "After that reaction, I just might go into more intimate detail next time" He joked. Or was he joking? That almost evil smile could make one wonder...

With the topic changed, he shrugged his shoulders, watching her carefully as she got up, clearly still worried about her welfare. "Not really? If I'm being honest, Kay, I've found that I've distanced myself from the going-ons of the galaxy almost entirely" He would admit. "I work primarily on the outer rim now, then I rest on my ship or in rare times at home, and then I go back and mission more. I have relatively little contact with the Silver Jedi and they don't tell me anything except for what they want me doing, and when they're not, I'm doing my job as a Jedi in my own ways."

He took a breath. "Honestly, for the most part... I'm on my own now. With no link to the galaxy at large."

Kay just didn't know how to react at first as [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] broke out in a fit of laughter. It took a few moments before she joined in. Hopefully he was joking about the whole thing and just wanted to tease her. But the very idea of him warning her to go into more intimate details, well, she shuddered at the thought. "Please don't...I'm not so sure that I could handle it..."

Thankfully he recovered and addressed her change in topic. "In a way I can say the same. Commenor is on it's own, however we have many allies and trading partners, but no say or influence over what's happening out there. It's kind of nice, actually."

It was possible he meant it when he said he'd talk in more intimate detail if it meant flustering Kay even more. But perhaps he wasn't. Perhaps what he'd said had brought about the satisfactory response and he was completely fine with dropping it. Perhaps she'd find out later? "I'll think about it" He would tease back with a light little smirk.

Once the topic was changed - for now - he would merely shrug his shoulders. "I'm a Jedi, we're used to isolation. We only really watch out for news that we need and what pertains to what we're doing" He would remark. "Still beats politics though" He would suddenly crack with a grin.

Kay smirked at his remarks. Not everyone could understand politics. It was a game unto itself. Wars were caused by it, and prevented. Lives were either lost or forever changed. In some ways, politics influenced more of the chaos in the Galaxy than anything else. But without it, strangely enough there'd be even more turmoil out there.

"It isn't for everyone, that's for sure and certain. But then again, being a Jedi isn't so easy either, I'm sure."

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

She forgot, of course, that he'd been involved in politics almost his entire life. But that's how it was... Constantly shadowing the Republic, having to get involved and do their dirty work and be treated like pawns and slaves... Having to clean up their political drama, or be dragged into wars because they were greedy and selfish... Lady Kay forgot that she was speaking to the man who, while the Republic's own Supreme Chancellor sat behind him and fired insults at the Fringe's leader making the situation worse and impeding what he was trying to do, Josh had singlehandedly negotiated peace between the Republic and the Fringe in what was a stupid war.

He understood politics... And he hated it. And he was more glad then anything to be away from it.

"Heh..." He responded with a grin. "Try dealing with both."
