Star Wars - Episode VII: The Force Awakens

So it turns out Kylo Ren's nameis not his real name. Ren is somewhat like a title like darth, and the order is the Knights of Ren. Kylo must be the name he took we he joined the order became anointed.

Yep, seems like it. A group of Force Users aligned to serve the Dark Side of the Force, under this "cult" of Ren. Not sure if they're possible Vader fanatics, but I hope to learn more of them in 'TFA' as they sound fascinating.

This is beyond brilliant - take 360 degree look around Jakku as a POV from Rey's speeder:

Congratulations, you just listed one of the many reasons i despised the EU and am glad it went to legends....
That story us from the greatest trio of Star Wars books ever written and no one has yet surpassed their greatness.

That said, it's not unbelievable at all.

Honestly, I think the Thrawn stuff is wildly over estimated and the reason is because of its role in Star Wars history. It reinvigorated an interest in Star Wars outside of the movies. I think they have many of the flaws of EU within them with some wildly outrageous plot points. All the Luuke stuff is just bleh. However, I would posit that X-wing is a far better series and one definitely more grounded within Star Wars mythos.

X-wing was the first series I ever read and I love them. My favorite SW character comes from them, but Zahn wrote epics with Hand of Thrawn. The clone of Luke was Meh but the whole rest of the trilogy was awesome.

Eh in my opinion old republic is my favorite era, like the SWTOR old republic with Vitiate and Disney never said the old republic is not cannon not the rename "legends". Old republic (EU) is still cannon, Revan did exist, Vitiate existed, the Sith Empire did exist, Darth malgus, sateele shan all cannon, as for the new movie, looks good to me, I want to see Kylo Ren, he looks like a total bad ass

All EU save for the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, and the Clone Wars TV Show (2008 - 2014) were the only things considered canon after the EU was declared non-canon. The only reason Bioware continues to make stuff for The Old Republic is because of their previous contract with LucasArts.

So no, none of KoToR or TOR is canon.

Thankfully.

I think Boba has to shine in Han's solo film (see what I did there) but there's no place for an 80+ bounty hunter in the new trilogy I think. There's having something good and keeping it in the right era, rather than bringing it back 30 years later.

I dunno. He would probably be about the same age as Han in the new trilogy, and Han's still kicking it. I think if played right, a Boba Fett appearance in the new trilogy could have some cool dramatic potential.

Our heroes find themselves in some deep trouble, and who appears from out of nowhere working in league with the First Order? Surprise, bitches, it's Boba Fett. And he hasn't exactly forgotten about what happened 30 years ago. In fact, he's been carefully planning his revenge this whole time.

Han Solo would be completely paralyzed with shock, thinking Fett was dead all these years. He would be like, "..You've got to be kidding me. This guy again?" Meanwhile our new heroes would be like - who is this guy?

At which point Han would explain, in his usual smarmy way, "Yeah... this Boba Fett guy and I, let's just say we had beef when you kids were still in diapers."
