Such A Pity (SSC Dominion of Boz Pity)

Boz Pity - Crash Site
Objective: Investigate

(4)

Once the pirates had left the area, Abaigeal moved down to the crash site. There was not much left, the pirates had done a good job picking over anything of value or use including removing anything they desired of the dead pilot. She checked his body for any life signs knowing that it was futile, but she would give him a burial before moving onward. He appeared to be a smuggler, she did not know was his cargo had been nor did she care, but the pirates had and they had taken more then the goods. Is there honour among thieves? Not in this group of them.

She grabbed whatever she could find to use as a shovel and began to dig a grave. Yet another soul to add to the list of the buried on his planet, but she did not know his name and never would, the pirates had robbed him of that too.

It was getting dark, at least the sun had began its descent to the far horizon and night would fall upon the Grave Yard Planet in hours, she did not rest here at the site it was too sad for that but rather she set off once more toward the stronghold and would find a place not so open and eat. She would travel through the night, the Silver Sanctum would be here in the morning and she wanted to be in position when they come.

Just on dusk, she found a place with more large boulders and sat down between two, took out a glow rod to give little light and her rations which included a bladder of water. Not much of a meal, but it was enough to give her body energy and her feet a break. Maybe even her eyes for a half hour.. she is tired and so she rests the back of her head against the boulder and power napped.

Abaigeal was not sure how long she had slept or what suddenly woke her. She jumped to her feet, holding the glow rod out to throw light as best it could but she saw nothing, she sensed something, but saw nothing. Ever get the feeling you are being watched?

The moon light suddenly disappeared, as if a cloud had passed over it but it was no cloud. There was a strange smell, like rotting flesh which made her nose wrinkle up, and a noise .. like a hiss, but soft and not threatening. She pushed out through the force, just as her head turned upward looking directly above her head and saw a black shape against the night sky. It moved toward her, a long neck with a head shaped like that of a serpent lowered toward her position .. whatever it was was huge.

She stood stock still, unable to move with fear. She had never felt fear like it before, well not in this sense but as the beast come down to her level a large yellow eye regarded her, it's pupil slit and long and and the last thing she remembered was the sound of a long forked tongue sliding out of its mouth .. then. She fainted.

Surface of Boz Pity
Post 1 of 20

The infinite blackness was warm and inviting, a feeling of true peace flooding over the mind of the young Valkyr warrior the likes of which he had not felt since being inside his mothers womb; a time when the events of the outside world were no trouble to him, a time when he was at his safest and most comfortable. The blackness held that same peaceful promise, a promise of no worry and no pain, of no loss and no suffering - a promise of true peace. It was enticing so much so that Máni's mind filled with starlight and when it dimmed he found that he was gazing upon the both of his parents, still dressed in their battle-gear and carrying their weapons on their side and back.

"Móðir?" his voice carried like wind chimes blown by the wind, a sort of musical weight that seemed to echo infinitely in the blackness that surrounded his parents and their light. A smile graced his mother's face in response to his question in their native tongue. Glacial eyes otherwise hardened from the world around him were not liquid pools of melted ice, reflecting with a mirror-likeness the image of his mother across from him.

"Yes, my son we are waiting for you. But, you are not yet ready to join us by the Gods side, continue your path and achieve your destiny, only then will you be ready to see us again. May Runa guide your soul to your body." her gentle fair hand cupped his cheek and Máni closed his eyes leaning into her hand. His mother had always been short and to the point with her words, it seemed that death had not changed her much, if at all. But, the young Valkyr did not want to part with his parents, he wanted to stay and be with them again. His choice was not his own, for he felt himself thrown through the blackness the fleeting glimpse of his mother smiling at him swiftly falling away from him until there was nothing but him and the blackness once again. It felt different this time, much less welcoming and much more real. He could smell smoke and charred flesh, the thick coppery scent of blood and death surrounding him.

He opened his eyes and a flash of light forced them shut again.

Waiting a few further moments, Máni opened his eyes slowly, inching them open so as not to blind himself again. It took what felt like minutes for him to open them fully and his glacial gaze fell on the scene around him; bodies and pieces of bodies littered the ground around him. The crackling of an unquenchable flame hungrily lapping at the organic fuel it was being fed echoed loudly across his hearing as everything moved in slow motion around him. It was that slow motion right after suffering a trauma, in his case being the crash of the drop ship that was carrying him to the surface. They had been shot down, the last thing he remembered was his stomach heaving as the ship plummeted to the planet in a fiery ball of metal and death.

He had been with a group of his fellow Valkyr, choosing to do battle with his own people over those of the Sanctum itself. This was why he didn't trust technology and ships, he was more suited to the ground and combat, not space and dog fights. His drop ship had been caught in the middle of a dog fight and though the pilot had initially attempted to evade the fire, they had managed to get hit anyway and they had crashed on the planets surface.

He surveyed the wreckage carefully, searching for any survivors of his people. A slight flicker of movement in the corner of his vision caught his attention and he wheeled on the movement and instantly began tearing away the wreckage. Once the wreckage had been cleared, he found a larger man impaled with a large shard from the ship in his abdomen; blood filling his beard and coating his lips. He knew just by looking at him that the man could not survive the wound, no one could, not even with the fabled healing of the Jedi themselves.

"Rest brother. You go to feast with Odiir and our ancestors." he paused as he withdrew a piercing knife from the sheath on the mans battle-gear and with eyes filled with compassion and admiration he whispered, "Your fight is over. May you reach Beornskald in peace and swiftness." and he plunged the dagger into the mans heart with a swift and precise thrust. The larger man grunted heavily and gripped Máni's arm tightly before his grip weakened and his hand fell away, the last sigh before death escaping his lips. It was not the traditional ways of his people, but the man was suffering. Máni ended that suffering.

He turned away from the now dead Valkyri warrior and muttered a soft prayer to his gods before stepping away from him and searching the distance. It did not take him long to pinpoint a mass, a mass that looked oddly like a ship. But, it was overgrown and deteriorating, a grave fit to stand beside the massive monuments that already littered the planet's surface.

Nantaris watched the battle unfold. It was almost time.

To be honest, he wasn’t very happy about the inclusion of the Dark Jedi Sumiko. He’d dealt with her before enough to know she was as slippery as a bag of vipers, and just as dangerous. Still, if she was capable of what she said….

He remembered, the princeling didn’t know! He’d briefed the other captains, but this might be an unpleasant surprise….

“Nikias, you’re about to see some reinforcements appear on your scope. They’re not real, they’re illusions, but you won’t be able to tell that by scanning them. The other officers know. Just hold your fighters back from now and let them chase their tails.”

And then they were there. On all his scopes and visually too it looked like four more Frontier Corvettes appeared and unleashed 48 more Coalition fighters into the battle.

The pirates…well the pirates were completely flabbergasted. Indeed, if they had tried shooting them they’d find out they were fake, and indeed some of the spectral fighters were shot at, but the chaos was such that the marauders barely noticed. One of the corvettes turned from the fight and jetted to open space. Another swung to an evasive posture so quickly it almost crashed into one of the pirate frigates.

Into this mayhem the two frigates steamed nicely on either side of the frigate, and as Nikias gave his order, the heavy turbolasers, ion cannons and missiles raked the Nebulon frigate. The shields went down quickly, and soon orange blossoms of fire erupted over the frigate’s full as blast after blast slammed into it. Reeling, and distracted by the phantom fighters, the Vigilance frigates neatly shifted on the Y axis, one going high, the other low, and hammered the Nebulon from behind. Soon it was reduced to a burning hulk and began to drift.

“Nice work, Nikias! Now, swing back and deal with the other one, we’ll deal with their corvettes.”

He made a mental note to thank Sumiko. What did one get a Dark Jedi? Probably something gruesome.

Tempest

Storm of the Force

The final turret was disabled and badly damaged, unable to fire properly. Presumably it would be soon finished off.

At the bottom of the canyon the fire tornado, the most awesome combination of elemental powers possible, had done its work well.

The pirates fell back before them and the other attacking Jedi and Coalition forces. By the time Tempest reached the barricade it was abandoned apart from the roasted and electrocuted slain.

Most of the surviving pirates had fallen back to their shanty town base. However, some of them threw down their weapons and surrendered. Tempest had her troops take them to the rear whilst the assault continued.

Tempest pulled up her commlink.
“All ground forces, the last pirates have fallen back to their settlement. Move in and destroy, watch for crossfire.”

She looked to Elpsis.
“Want to make things hot for them? I’ll give them a zap!” she said. The tin shacks would conduct electricity well, and could get very hot….

The flaming tornado had caused over the top carnage and devastation, roasting pirates nicely. Overkill? Well, yes, probably. Presumably the Jedi Code had rules against this sort of thing. Fortunately, Elpsis had washed out of AgriCorps, so it's not like she had to pay attention to it.

The surviving pirates retreated into their motley shanty town base, firing as they went. Some were smart enough to throw away their weapons and surrender. Firemane troops poured into the base, moving in pairs to take down concentrations of corsairs. Blasterfire was unleashed upon them from hiding spots in buildings, explosions echoed across the base.

"Sounds fun. You better reward me after after this," Elpsis said knowingly. She liked the commanding Tempest. Blaster bolts whizzed past and above her head. One caught her in the shoulder, causing a searing burn to spread across it along with a sensation of pain. Her armour was kind of crap. Fortunately she'd majored in pyromancy and so she could absorb a good portion of the heat.

It made her angrier. So she rolled a D20 and since the dice favoured her she cast the Flamethrower Cone Spell. An area-of-effect blast of tremendously hot cone of fire sprang into being as it leapt from her hand, sweeping through the area ahead of her to engulf the pirates' hiding spots in boiling flame. The shacks would soon be extremely hot.

Up ahead it sounded like a new world war was starting – flames shooting up into the distance, debris catapulted across the canyon and shouts and screams that echoed around the walls. Connor waved over a Ranger, commanding a small unit with jet-packs.

"Captain, get up and over to that entrenchment and find out what the hell’s going on. Provide back-up if Sanctum soldiers are engaged.”

”Got it.”

The Ranger turned and waved his hand forward, and activated the jet-pack which spat up the dust on the ground below as it took him, and three other commandos, up onto the canyon lip to move forward on the high ground.

Connor signalled to move forward through the canyon, devoid of action as the pirates seemed to have been picked off up front on the barricade.

"Ok, pick up the pace – we need to get there before any reinforcements arrive and take that barricade down.”

So he began a steady run, the fellow Jedi and troops following suit on the ground, and also on the level above, the barricade in sight up head and the flames belching into the sky like a huge landing light for them to follow from the assault up top.

Not far behind [member="Connor Harrison"] was a young woman in the thin black garb of a soldier. A bright blue lightsaber burned in her hands as she ran quickly alongside the river of Rangers. The canyon was blasted, dusted, and firm underfoot. Already holding the faint scent of battle and near smoke on the air. This young brunette gritted her teeth against the tide of emotions that filled her. Following upon the coat tails of the Rogue Master that ran alongside and in front of her. Less eager than most. More brave and foolhardy than some. Too familiar with battle already and acquainted with Ares' spear like good cousins. She dared not love war anymore than a healer could but forged herself upon it's anvil none-the-less. Bent and broken she remained. Rubbed smooth with her harsher edges shaved away. Valiant and strong to the last. She called to him,

"Master Harrison! What awaits us up ahead? Sense you our opposition fleeing?"

Her voice was firm and spirited. Shaken from the run and winded from the dust, but violent just the same. This wasn't Emma's first rodeo. Though, it might just have been her second. She clamored up to the Master's side and kept pace with a hot breath,

"Surly they know they have already lost, yes? ...Blast it. To what end do they continue to fight?"

The words of a growing woman who hoped still for survivors. Yet the iron in her voice already gave the truth away. Knowing the stronger natures of war that scorched this hot earth. No. There might not be any survivors to the blazing pits of cold fusion that burned up ahead. Such was the way of reaping angels. ...No,

Such were the lashings of war.

Nima Tann

Master of Her Own Destiny
Boz Pity, a planet Nima wasn't very familiar with yet she, as a Master of the Sanctum, had a mission to do. The only thing she knew was this place was very crowded with pirate population, and they weren't the most lawful people, so that was enough reason to be involved. She was, indeed, late for the party and there was no one else in the shuttle but her, and her adorable companion Ice. "You ready?" She asked with a smile. Being the most excited mutated wolf, he barked happily, implying that he was ready, which, he always was. She had this feeling too, that this little journey would be exciting. Not only that it was because a totally different planet that Nima hasn't seen before, yet the enemy was different as well. Fighting Imperials and Sith, pirates would be a new kind of enemy to study on and see their weaknesses. The shuttle landed to the extraction point, and she looked around. After a second of peace, a voice of explosion could be heard. And then, the visuals. If it didn't bring destruction, it would be a beautiful sight. Anyway, she started to move towards it with Ice, it somehow had some familiarity to her.

Stopping at the voice and holding back for the brunette to catch up, lightsaber in hand, Connor nodded and continued beside her.

"They’re not fleeing, they’re just re-grouping elsewhere. It’s going to take a few more hits than just their entrenchments to repel them. It’s their last stand; they’re not going to run without a fight.”

He glanced to her.

”Emma, isn’t it? I recognise you. Please, just call me Connor. No Master rank. Not today.”

At the sound of some nasty sounding engines overhead, the ones that shook the canyon walls with a rough, unrefined growl, Connor held his arm out to stop Emma and those behind. Looking up, a pirate ship that looked like various ships stuck together, came in above the barricade and down to the canyon floor a few klicks up.

The Sanctum troupe watched on as a couple of swoops descended, a nasty looking scout walker and a handful of fresh troops.

DSCF0529_zps7d6tvtuf.jpg
”I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

And right on cue, the scout walker shot a barrage of cluster bombs down into canyon.

”Get down!”

Connor pushed forward to the incline of the canyon wall, grabbing Emma and a solider to get out of the blast zone. The 4 bombs exploded, 1 up above and 3 on the ground, kicking up the rocks around them all. A few cries out signalled they now had casualties. The Jedi Master turned to look up at the advancing pirates and their toy. Glancing back, he saw two dead Rangers.

Rolling onto his back, using the incline as cover on the hard sun-baked ground, Connor lifted his arm with the wrist-mounted com and pushed a call to the fleet; [member="Valiens Nantaris"] up above.

”Valiens, this is Connor in the main canyon. We have a dirty transport bringing back-up to the surface – if you see anything that looks like it shouldn’t be airborne heading this way, take it down and we’ll be ever so grateful!”

Blaster fire rang out from the Rangers; so began the fight in the canyon.

Emma coughed in the dust and scampered to her knees. Blast! More of them. And right in front of her too!

"Connor! [member="Connor Harrison"] ! ...Com the plane! Com [member="Kurayami Bloodborn"] !"

The name graced her lips like a gift from the Force. A slip of the mind or of the tongue. It mattered not where it came from now though. They all had bigger fish to fry.

Prinn got to her feet just in time to raise her hand. A moment later a white splash of laser fire exploded upon her shield and sent her hurling backwards. Yet unharmed. Merely tumbling in the dust. Another Ranger lifted her to feet and pulled her behind an outcropping. Not a cave so much as a fissure in the rock. She coughed and sputtered at the force of her event. Gods... How she hated it.

The Ranger turned and fired repeated. Blaring her hearing with gunfire and the curses upon her air. She knelled down and turned the edge. Noting the walker and it's deadly advance.

She pulled some rocks from the ground and hurled them like grenades are their opponents. A lackluster attack to be sure. Though the spectacle of flaming tornado's and magical rocks was not lost upon her attackers. Pirates don't do well against such meteors of faith. It was not uncommon to see an enemy trooper simply lower his rifle and rub his tired eyes with disbelief. For while Jedi were legendary in their origins and tales? Few still had ever faced one in battle. ...And lived.

"Connor! ...What do we do!?"

The Ranger looked down at Prinn in disbelief. A veteran's touch to the chaos. A heartly fueled mix of anger and near pity for the woman he had just pulled from the rubble. Ha! What do we do, oh fair Jedi maiden? We fight! ...Or we die.

Bah. And you don't need any Jedi Master to tell you that either.

The Sun blared in her eyes lids, arousing her from sleep and as consciousness returned to her mind, Abaigeal sat bolt upright remembering the event of the night. It had all been a dream, the creature that had tracked her to this place and she let out a long heavy sigh of relief. She stretched her body with a yawn to match and her arms raised above her head felt the scaley surface of the boulder. Scales? Sudden realisation gave her the knowledge it had not been a dream. She allowed fear to enter her heart once more, but in the light of day, things could be discerned with more clarity .. sort of .. that is what she convinced herself of.

Abaigeal turned her head and once more saw the large head of the lizard beast resting on the ground beside her. She jumpled to her feet immediately and backed away only to find she could go not very far and backed into the creature long thick tail, she was encircled by it's body. The lizard took in a deep breath and puffed it out which blew back her hair before opening it's eyes the pupil flicking around to find her. It's playing with me, like a cat!

Her mind was struggling for rationality, fighting to gather all her training as Jedi to her to help find a way out of this situation. She calmed her mind, drawing in deep breathes of her own to settle her racing heart. And her hand slowly moved to her lightsaber. The lizard, watching this suddenly moved to stand up to it's full extent, raising high into the air and it opened it mouth to roar. The noise would be heard for miles, even in the pirate stronghold.

"Wrong move", she told herself, not really possible to hear her voice over her pounding heart. The head of the lizard swiftly dived down toward her, until only inches away from her. She could smell it's breath, that was where the scent of rotting flesh had come from. "And now I die".

The blade of her lightsaber ignited, the blue light shining in the eyes of the lizard, it opened it's mouth and roared once more this time the breath knocking her to the ground, two large clawed feet pounded the ground on either side of her and a long forked tongued licked her face and nostrils flared. But without warning the lizard turned away and started a lumbering run toward the stronghold. Abaigeal's head flew up and watched with amazement for a moment, disbelieving that she had not been eaten. "It .. it does not want to eat me .. it wants the ... Hey! wait for me!".

She grabbed her bag and flung it over her shoulder before running full pelt after the very large lizard. With the use of the force in her legs she caught up to it quickly, "I don't believe I am doing this", she said as she jumped on it's back. In the distance, the SSC fleet had arrived and had begun their run. "I talk to a plant, and now I talk to lizards". Oh and yes, don't forget the boulder.

Still groundin'

Solomon and the rest of his squad observed the malestrom of fire that was rained down on folk who not so long ago he would've called comrades. A pang of confused regret stung the mute as he wiped the blood from his knife. The moment didn't last long, as the Jedi forces began moving forward. It reminded Solomon of when his crew had targeted a particularly easy mark and sliced through them without many casualties. What was the tally so far? One ship to a battery of expensive guns and at least twenty men? Solomon pushed the thoughts out of his mind as he took a blaster rifle and a few charges off the corpse of the man he'd killed. His axe and knife would only work go so far now that their precence was painfully well known.

He really needed to make a saber.

The group began pushing towards the last gun, which could be seen firing wildly into the air. A death howl of sorts. Solomon wondered if the fracking fire tornado farther down the canyon was real or imagined. Was he hallucinating again?

Shake it off.

Push.

One of his fellows fell as they approached the gun, a neat blaster hole appearing in the center of her chest. Someone half shouted half cried "SNIPER."

Solomon, having been close enough to feel the heat of the shot pass him began firing at the general region the sniper had shot from, a small opening around the middle of the tower. He cursed internally as drew his blaster pistol and slung the rifle. He wouldn't be able to drag her and fire with the rifle.

Solomon's three fingers burned as he pulled the Jedi by the back of her collar, taking the time to fire at the death box as he moved backwards, praying the sniper was incompetent enough to miss him under fire. He was only a few feet from cover.

A bolt tore through his stomach. It felt like someone had thrown a jackhammer at him. He saw sky.

Pain was focused into rage. Rage focused into energy. Solomon pulled his fallen comrade and himself behind a rock with one last desperate effort. He coughed blood as the others in his squad breached the tower. A weak pulse could be felt from the one he'd drug. He pressed the medic button of his com translator, sending out a robotic call for help and his coordinates.

[SIZE=10pt]“Illusions?” Nikias asked over the com channel before his mouth fell agape at the imaginary reinforcements that seemingly appeared out of nowhere on the scanners in his vision. What sorcery is this? Nikias asked himself shocked at just how real the corvettes looked and how even the sensors read them as real. Now Nikias could truly see what type of abilities the force granted and it showed just how much he paled in comparison to the more experienced and varied force users. “ok I see them, I won’t interfere.” Nikias said still amazed by the sight before him. Looking down to the bridge crew who continued on as though such things were normal Nikias recollected his thoughts and instead focused on the first pirate frigate as the ships raked it with fire. explosions rocked through the ship and from where nikias stood it seemed more like when one was celebrating. orange flames exploded from the pirate frigate and nikias felt a faint tug on his lips. while he was a jedi and not supposed to take pleasure in such things he couldn't help it. scum such as the pirates who would willingly take the lives of others and kill innocents deserved no less than death. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]“Alright Starfighters pull into defensive formation as valien’s said. Our priority is getting rid of that second frigate.” Nikias said examining the chaos on the tactical display before him. It seemed as the sudden reinforcements had driven the pirates into a frenzy as they began to panic. This would be the perfect distraction. the second pirate frigate was to the port side of the intrepid, however since they had made their way behind the first frigate it gave them the perfect position to do the maneuver again. “Adjust course 20 degrees to starboard and send a message to intrepid that we'll be taking the right side of the pirate vessel and them the left." [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]the twenty degree turn offered nikias' ship a line of sight on the pirate vessel and as they drew near all the forward facing weapons were aimed at it. "prep warhead launchers and focus them all on the engines of the pirate ship. they decided their fate when they trampled over the rights of others. there will be no quarter given on this day." nikias said his eyes narrowed. "Ion and Turbolasers focus fire on the side of the ship, upon approach turn another seventy degree's to port." this maneuver was aimed at not only keeping the pirates from escaping but keeping nikias' ship in a position where all the weapons of frigate could be brought to bare on the pirates.[/SIZE]

Kurayami's attention was momentarily diverted from his ever so exciting game of cat and mouse by the appearance of new dots in the canyon. At first just a group of friendlies. Soon after some more pirates decided to join the party. What was left of the barricade was sandwiching the friendly units in between them and the new reinforcements, not a fun place to be to be less than poetic about it.

There were a couple larger pings among the pirate forces. One was moving quickly enough to be a transport or freighter, the other was a possible emplacement or ground unit. As he pondered these new developments one of the friendly pings went flying while a few others nearby stopped moving altogether. The turret was little threat as of now. It looked like there were more pressing matters to attend to.

Dropping to a few meters off the deck he moved quickly towards the pirate reinforcements in the canyon. There was that bad feeling again as he approached, or had it been there this whole time and he was too absorbed in the fight to notice? Either way, he knew now that this was the Force trying to tell him something, what exactly remained to be seen. And within a few more seconds it was.

The reinforcements were still finishing disembarking from the transport, but it seemed a couple swoops were away and some amalgamation of walker parts was standing there. Priority targeting was the order of the day, question was which one was more important? Sure the transport could land more troops if it got off planet, but that would require enough time to get loaded up during the orbital engagement. No, walker first, then transport, swoops and end with soldiers. He nodded to himself as if to reassure himself this was a good plan. Well it was a better plan than he normally had which usually came down to, 'try to do the thing and get out alive.' Then again he never claimed to be a strategic genius.

With his plan of attack formed, he checked his HUD again for the position of friendly troops, looked like they were taking up a defensive position, good idea. Only problem was a grenade from that walker could mean the end of everyone in that group. He wouldn't let that happen. He selected the group on his HUD and opened a comm channel to them.

"Coalition ground team, this is Aquila 13. Noticed you were in a bit of a bind, I am over head, strating strafing run on the walker in your vicinity, hang tight and enjoy the fireworks. Bloodborn out"

One could see the dust trail from quite a distance away as he dropped low into the canyon, The ship was not to most beautiful of craft since it looked like the bastard offspring of an X-Wing and B-Wing, but the most important thing was that it was on station and had plenty of boom for the job ahead. He closed quickly pulling up and into a high yo-yo to set himself up with a good angle to strafe only the enemy emplacement. The Coalition forces were a bit in front of him but they were off to his right a safe distance. He lined up on the trnsport and walker and opened fire, the auto blasters and heavy laser cannon unleashing a hellacious amount of plasma. That drew the attention of both the transport and walker for the time being. The ground troops fired a few potshots and the defensive armament of the transport chimed in. and the walker fired what it could bring to bear. What the walker managed to contribute was a homing rocket, only bad times awaited with one of these things. Breaking off his run he pulled back up and around in an inside loop, as he cam back into the canyaon he was near the transport and walker again, the homing rocket not far behind. He unlocked the wings and swung them vertical, closing the S-foils to give him room for what was by all measures an insanely stupid idea. As he approached the walker from the left side he kicked hard on the left pedal as soon as his nose figter cleared the walker. The wings were dropped back to horizontal as he dropped into the arc of the anti-infantry weapons. The rocket went wide and slammed into the canyon wall having lost track of the target. Meanwhile the walker sent a hail of grenades and other ordnance at the quickly retreating fighter.

The impacts of the weapons not far off his six shook the fighter rather nicely, and his shields were hurting at only 50% now This was not where he wanted to be, but he had an objective. Extending the S-foils again and locking the wings horizontal, he pulled up and over sending another transmission to the group in cover.

"Aquila 13 to Coalition troops. Apologies for underestimation of how much firepower this was going to take, advise staying where you are. Especially if you don't like getting hit with proton warheads. Bloodborn out."

While the transmission had an almost lighthearted feel to it, and unsurprisingly dark humor, the warning was one that should be heeded. He locked the targeting computer onto both the walker and the transport, one torpedo each. He fired a short salvo as distraction from the incoming projectiles. Worked like a charm, boom went the walker as the torpedo impacted just right and high of center near the hatch. The transport was a bit more fortunate though. taking less damage but the engines were smoking. He didn't care about the pirate troops, He knew the nearby Coalition troops could easily handle them. He would stay nearby on station just in case he was needed again, and so he started another CAP pattern near the barricade to make sure any ground troops were occupied with shooting at him instead of the ground units for the time being.

At this point, Audren had choices. He could very well land his craft and shift into gear to try and catch up with the ground teams or he could head for orbit, where battle was being joined. Or he could follow a hunch and fly around taking pictures. If he did that, he'd be available to either side if they called and be able to respond in a relatively short time.

Then came the comm call from Master Harrison.

"Valiens, this is Connor in the main canyon. We have a dirty transport bringing back-up to the surface – if you see anything that looks like it shouldn’t be airborne heading this way, take it down and we’ll be ever so grateful!"

Odd, he wouldn't have expected pirates to head down the gravity well, not when there was so much to do on either side of the atmospheric envelope. Unless the combat was a secondary objective. Pirates were known for wanting to protect their treasure above all else, so it would make sense if there was another group that was working to grab some or all of it.

With that in mind, the Sephi kicked the throttle back up and began scanning the skies. Another starfighter - Aquila 13, piloted by Bloodborn - was already responding to the transport on the ground and the fighters it had released. But if his hunch was correct, there would probably be at least one more...there. A larger vessel just off the deck, moving fast. Maybe heading towards loot storage? And there, a second freighter dropping from orbit towards the combat zone. That meant options and prioritization. The larger vessel was moving away from combat and trying to stay hidden, the freighter was dropping towards combat. He had the sensors mark the course and speed of the larger ship, then pulled the nose of his fighter up and into an intercept course for the freighter.

"This is the Hathol, moving to intercept a second incoming freighter. Aquila 13, all Coalition air forces, be aware of a third vessel moving away from combat zones and trying to stay hidden. Course and speed recorded."

The Knight pushed shields to full and centered his targeting brackets around the freighter. Beeping started sounding, then a solid tone. The pull of a trigger heralded the launch of two homing missiles, a nice way to say hello.

Embedded within her improvised meditation chamber like the spider in a web, Sumiko was completely focused upon the infinite blackness of the void. The corsairs had been completely by the illusionary onslaught and the Coalition had taken full advantage. Orange flames exploded from a pirate frigate when flashes of turbolaser fire impacted upon it, creating domes of light as blast after blast slammed into it.

The deaths of the corsairs echoed through the Force as their lives were extinguished. Through the psychic connection Sumiko heard their screams, but she did not try to blot them out. The deaths had the effect of strengthening her.

The Coalition fleet was reorientating itself to turn the remaining Nebulon frigate into a burning death trap.

For her part, Sumiko decided to add to the chaos by concentrating her attention upon the pirate corvette that had turned tail and was trying to escape. Summoning the illusionary flotilla had consumed a good deal of energy. Blood was dripping from her slashed palm into a goblet. Strain was evident across her features as she harnessed the power of the Dark Side and stretched out her will. Some of the spectral fighters had dissipated, either because she lacked the attention or they had been fired upon, but now she directed her phantoms to pursue the fleeing corvette and hem it in. From the perspective of the pirates, it would look like a swarm of fighters was suddenly falling upon them like birds of prey, pumping them full with missiles and ion cannon fire, while turbolaser blasts lanced through the void like beams of crimson doom.

There was a hesitant knock on the door, and then a female soldier wearing the blue uniform of a Coalition naval ensign hesitantly stepped into the room. "D-do you need anything, Lady?" she asked nervously, then an expression of shock crossed her features when she saw the blood. The Dark Side aura was so strong in the room that even a Force-blind person could feel it. It was probably enough to make you feel dizzy and nauseous. "Gods, are you alright?"

Sumiko's eyes snapped open and the ensign took a step back when she saw that they were fathomless obsidian. "Yes," Sumiko said flatly, in a chilly tone. "Leave." The soldier quickly turned around and hastened out of the room, slamming the door shut.

Never let it be said that Sor-Jan wasn't a boy of his word.

As promised, his sudden change of course had prompted two pirate starfighters to break out from the attack run on the medical frigate and instead follow the Corellian YT freighter down into the atmosphere of Boz Pity. Red streaks flashed across the transparisteel canopy, as the starfighters dogged behind the freighter in a series of pincer maneuvers. Rocking the ship to the right or banking sharply left, atmospheric pressures and turbulence buffeted the irregular shaped freighter, causing the occupants to feel the vibrations through the space frame as the ship began shuddering in protest.

A panel fell down from overhead, banging loudly in echoes throughout the ship. Loose cabling fell from out of the now open panel, and a soldered connection of wires was sparking into flame as circuits were becoming overloaded from the additional strain on the ship. The ship's auto targeting computer was off-line, so the young clone of Jango Fett was climbing into the top turret in order to try and take the fight to the pirates. Green bolts flew in short bursts as the youngling soldier rotated the turret around to try and draw a bead on the encroaching starfighters.

In the cockpit, the small Anzat was trying to get an understanding of what was functional, what wasn't functional, and what could be functional if he applied the basic tenants of Corellian engineering -- that is, a bypass solves everything. Spiraling through the clouds, the boy pulled the ship back into an upward climb before flipping the ship like a coin and pointing it down toward the ground.

And that was when he punched it.

"Hang on to something!" Like a dead drop from a roller coaster, the ground rushed up to greet the ship. Angling toward a canyon in the surface of a mountain valley, the boy looped down and up so that the ship was inverted on its side shooting down the inside of the canyon. The sharp whistle of a BB unit that was now tumbling through the inside of the ship like a pinball was matched only by the mechanical whine of the 2-1B as it went flying from out of its seat behind the boy.

In the air, the rear-ward starfighter clipped the side of a rocky outcropping. Bouncing off the side of the rocks, the Z-95 disintegrated into a fireball as it came apart in midair.

Bringing the ship up from out of the canyon pass, the Anzat put the ship belly-up as he passed over the exit to the canyon. Focusing on the exit point, the young clone gunner sent a hail of green fire down into the valley, catching the Z-95 Headhunter as it shot out of the pass.

Righting the ship again, the boy Jedi leveled off as the sounds of a cheering clone echoed through the ship. Cycling down the engines, the boy began to look for spots in which the land. Which was when the familiar outline of a star destroyer cropped up on the sensors. Curious, the boy angled the nose down as he piloted toward the landmark. What came into view was nothing short of miraculous.

A Venator-class star destroyer. A ship of the Old Republic, from the Clone Wars, nose down into the earth. "Is that one of ours?"

Sor-Jan hadn't even heard the clone return. Performing an aerial pass over the wreckage, the Anzat was startled to find himself staring at what appeared to be a red and yellow faded circle on the top side of the massive vessel. It was faded, barely distinguishable against the exposed metal, but still there. The Open Circle Fleet. "It's one of ours," the boy uttered softly.

Leaning back against the canyon wall, half his squad on the other side as all hell was raining down from above, Connor turned to Emma.

"We wait until they’ve finished battering them from the sky, then we move in the confusion. They’re panicking – they’re throwing all they’ve got to keep that barricade up. We take that down, that will pave the way for ground forces to move in and reduce their hold. You stick with me.”

As the comlink came alive with word from up above, the likes of Bloodborn and Audren working in unison as the eyes in the sky to provide heavy fire, Connor signalled with his hand for the squad to stay down.

"Ok. The walker’s still there but they’re splitting their attention.”

Peering over the rocky slope, he could see the walker amidst burning pot-holes, and the pirates taking up RPG’s to hit the ships above. A smouldering speeder was mangled in the canyon wall. Leaning back, he got the attention of the lead Ranger on the opposite side.

"When I give the word, keep left and charge them. We’ll take right.”

With the attack coming from above thanks to the fighters, and then a split attack charging up either side of the canyon, the pirates would have to contend with picking their targets from three different directions. A cluster of rockets came down, exploding onto the canyon wall and kicking up a fountain of rock and debris across the pirates.

"NOW!”

Connor stood and vaulted over the warm rock he had hid behind, as the Rangers and Jedi on the other side did the same with their cover and began to charge. The blaster rifles began their cover fire. The lightsaber countered the incoming bolts. The dirty brown walker turned its head, and began to fire.

Boz Pity - Kick the back door in!
Objective: Stay atop the lizard.

(6)

And so the journey to the pirate stronghold continues ..
Ever ridden a gigantic lizard beast with no harness? I bet you haven't! and it is not a good look. Abaigeal clung to the lizard as best she could, gripping onto a bumpy ridge on the back which only served to keep her secure partly, the rest of her was flapping around like a piece of rag with the swaying motion of the lizards movement.

Never look down! she looked down, the ground was very far away which motivated her to try and gain a better position and so she swung her legs up and over only to be thrown on her back and she let go bumping her way down the spine of the beast. The amount of bruises she was developing were countless and she swore she heard a bone break somewhere. She scrambled back up until she reached the back of the neck and laid against the scaley reptile reaching out holding onto its horn on the point of the nose. The lizard did not like that .. and with a flick of the head Abaigeal went flying tumbling down it's spine once more.

And so the journey continued..
Until finally the odd couple reached the outskirts of the stronghold. She had very little opportunity to see what the SSC were up to but by the constant bombardment they had their work cut out for them. Suddenly the lizard stopped, it giant head shifting one way to the next, tongue tasting the air, the ships of SSC fleet had given it pause and rightly so.

Abaigeal opened up a link of communication to all SSC in the area. "Attention all Silvers! Knight E'ron here, and please don't bomb the lizard!". Before she could add more to the communication the lizard began to move once more. It's stomach had made demands and would not be rebuked. And she noticed what had had it attention. Several pirates running away from the bombardment decided it was time to leave and save their skins, they were about to board ground speeders when the lizard decided it was breakfast time.

Abaigeal turned away holding her hand over her mouth to stop her stomach juices from reaching her mouth as she listened to the cracking and crunching of bones. She decided it was time to get into the action. Jumping off the back of her new friend, she will now refer to as Boz, she ran toward a building that looked like a warehouse with her lightsaber in her hand. The fleeing pirates headed her way and soon her was facing a volley of blaster fire.

It came over the inside of her helmet that a medic was needed, or in her case she was needed. Sounding of fire still being echo with in. Knowing that there was a life slipping away. Finding now before anything else she needed to make it there. Slowly making her way, as it seem strange she had much add weight now but the much needed protection was welcome. As there seem to be nothing that could get in this healers way now. Slowly as it may seem came over the commlink again about the sniper in the area she was about to enter. Sending a message back to the [member="Solomon"] , I"ll be on my way.

All others seem to have back away leaving only Maya alone but this only make her push harder to the wounded. As if she could feel before she reacted call it a nature reaction to the force. Even those it didn't hit it makes it still hit a part of her armor only to have a surprise to it. Oh the joy to see this ones face at this very moment when he had been taking out so many others. That given her enough time to pin point where this one had made his nest.

This getting on the commlink to [member="Connor Harrison"] [member="Kurayami Bloodborn"][member="Valiens Nantaris"] "I'm sending you location of that pesky sniper."
