Suffer the Consequences of Your Actions [Republic/Mandos]

"Everybody dies, Vice Chancellor." She spoke softly, eyes glittering dangerously at the veiled insult. The threat was not brainless, it had landed her in a room with two of the republics officials. Oh, it wasn't the civilized way to do things, but it was far faster. "Stopping evacuation ships is nothing in comparison to what would have happened if I had not been in control of that fleet. Be thankful that Coruscant is still whole. What we're doing, here and now, this is not stopping people from dying, this is delaying it."

War was coming, everyone in this room knew it, just none of them were in a position to declare it. They were just a step to low on the ladder for that. "Pull back from Etti IV and Korriban."

[No problem]

He gave a nod in respect to the representative, @[member="Mia Monroe"], before sitting down as well, motioning Yusan to sit beside him.

"This isn't our first rodeo, Miss Monroe" he said calmly as he watched her, with a small smile, his eyes meeting hers at all times. "When the Republic needs someone who truly wants peace for the Republic and for the Jedi Order, they sometimes send one of us. And we gladly oblige. We don't just look out for the interests of the Jedi Order, we look out for the interests of all parties involved. We're a good semi-neutral party for negotiations, so this is nothing new to any of us. Not taking away from the Senate of course, they each have their specialties. This is just one of those times"

He smiled faintly. "Normally when I meet a beautiful women it's under a much more peaceful circumstance then something like this, but... I've met people of all shapes and sizes in the heat of battle, so I suppose this isn't too much a surprise. All joking aside, miss Monroe, I agree and wish that this were under more peaceful circumstances. I have known and held respect for the Mandalorians under your keep for a very long time. Some of them, I even consider friends. I was at the wedding of one of them not too long ago, actually, when he got married to a close friend of mine, and I was the best man in a wedding for another of your Mandalorians just a few months ago as well. What I'm getting at here is I've always admired the Mandalorians for their honor, being honorable warriors. What worries me is that in this situation that we saw over on Coruscant... I'm not seeing that honor that I have held so much respect and admiration for since meeting the Mandalorians for the first time. This isn't a crack at you, of course. I appreciate that you had the honor and respect to come and meet us off-planet, calling off your fleets and allowing a negotiation, and it's things like that, that I respect and admire. The whole premise around this though... It speaks volumes. As someone who has friends in the Mandalorians, I really hope you guys aren't going in a direction that takes you away from who you really are"

"But onto business... Peace. Treaties. All that fun business. Really, I wish you guys had just sent a diplomatic ship with a diplomat and all that jazz, talked it out with the Senate or Supreme Chancellor or me or whoever gets sent to do the job... Had a treaty written up and then gone back to Mandalore like it never happened. We're not the Sith Empire. You come with a diplomatic ship and ask about a treaty, we'll listen, we'll talk. We're not heartless. What you did was incredibly unnecessary, but what matters is that we're here now. Let's put this whole warships and fleets thing behind us and get a treaty signed"

"Now... Let me guess, correct me if I'm wrong here... Etti. That mission was definitely not one of my favorites. Actually, if I remember the records, it was actually a Jedi Master that badgered the Republic and Jedi into getting that. Daella Apparine, I believe. Led the mission herself. I was there too actually, to protect the Jedi that had signed up to join Miss Apparine. That... Might actually have to be investigated, because I don't think the Republic, Jedi or Senate knew that it was getting uncomfortably close to your territory. All that we were told was that the Sith were making an effort to rise again, build an empire on a set of planets and strike again, and we had a good chance right there to stamp it out before they got too powerful and caused havoc. But we'll do that on our own time. Point is... Etti. You don't want us to go any farther then that, right? No more territory building past Etti?"

At the answer of @[member="Mia Monroe"], he nodded. "Etti and Korriban, then?"

He looked over at Yusan. "What say you? Where should the Mandalorians limit be, since we wanna talk about limits?"

@[member="Mia Monroe"]
@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

Mia rolled her eyes. "You are not semi neutral, not even close to it. You act in the interests of the Republic, if you can find me an act that the Jedi have committed that hasn't benefited the Republic then I will eat my helmet." Her fingers drummed lightly on the surface of the table her, did he just call her pretty? She bit her tongue hard to stop a sharp retort escaping it. "If I had brought a diplomatic ship and played by the Republic's rules I would have spent a day watching this being thrown from Senator to Senator while being insulted in between. Something I have neither the patience, nor the temper for, so believe me when I say that this way was better than me going bang in the middle of a room full of senators. I wouldn't have gotten this without a fleet and some carefully controlled threats, my Rally Master aside."

She realised just how optimistic the Grandmaster was being. This wasn't about the space they were reaching for, this was about the fact that they were just simply too big for their boots. At least two thirds of the Mandalorian borders was either touching, or a stones throw away from the Republic. The sith were a rapidly expanding disease and they have been squashed, for now. The Republic were no different, they wee just another colour of disease. She held her tongue though. Let them think hat they will, she knew what was coming, even if they didn't.

"She is right, that is all that Senators seem to do nowadays, but that does not mean it was right... Point being, that we are here now, so let us get on with things so that peace can remain just that, peaceful." He crossed his hands on the table, thinking to himself and tapping his fingers on the table as he did so. If his imput was needed or if he was directly spoken to he woulld respond in kind, but it was better to let the Jedi sort out the pleasantries than have him speak on behalf of a cowering senate and whoring chancellor, the second part coming to mind without him even thinking about it. @[member="Mia Monroe"] @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

Josh knew full well that the Mandalorians would find an excuse for war eventually. It was a shame, really, that their sense of honor had deteriorated so badly that they would turn on those that had worked with them just for the sake of it. What happened to the warriors that fought for honor? All he had seen on Coruscant was a group of terrorists. They acted as remorseless and as distasteful as slavers, if you want to make a fair comparison, and the way they handled it disgusted him, especially considering he expected much better from the Mandalorians. Of course, this was obviously not the Mandalorians he had grown to know.

"We act in the interests of all parties involved. We're peacekeepers, we want the best for everybody" he said calmly, not reacting whatsoever to her veiled negativity and shots at the Jedi. He didn't seem to regret mentioning her looks. Was the man crazy? Probably. That or he was a god of self confidence. Or just incredibly good at saying the craziest of things and keeping a straight face as if it were another day at the office. Regardless, he listened, and nodded to what she was saying.

"You'd probably have taken just about as much time doing it diplomatically as you would have doing it the way you did it" he said with a chuckle. "Just with less violence, less pissing people off. Or... You could have just said "I want to talk to the Chancellor" and he probably would have gotten me. We'd have grabbed that kid over there" he began, motioning toward Yusan. "Sat us down in a room. No need for Senators, a lot of them are kind of useless, honestly, and are horrid diplomats, and just talked it out. If Jack and I could negotiate a treaty with the Fringe within 10 minutes just by meeting on Telos, I think you can show up in a diplomatic ship, ask to see us, and get a treaty done in 10 minutes" he said, giving a shrug.

This was more or less filler to give Yusan time to post, to get the conditions down pat. (AKA Yusan get your condition orders from the FL and suggest em here. I'm not the Faction Leader anymore, so really this is something that should come from Carn)

"You prevented the inevitable from happening on the most populous planet in the galaxy, I'd rather it anywhere else." He responded honestly. He was well aware war was on the horizon, that wasn't in question, the galaxy to chaotic to have an actual lasting peace. War was all the place would ever know, death, misery, and destruction. It was cynical, but Jorin hadn't seen much to the contrary.

@[member="Cody Jorin"]

"I was merely doing my duty, Master Jorin." The Jedi says with the barest of bows at the waist and a gentle dip of his head. "Although this still doesn't answer the question of what brings you to our humble Temple. I doubt you came all the way here just to tell me I executed my duties with competence."

"Knew the Mandos would target here, it'd be the center of chaos. I wanted to see if I could help." Jorin replied honestly, returning the curt nod. "So where do you need me?"

@[member="Sarge Potteiger"]

@[member="Cody Jorin"]

"We don't need you anywhere. The Mandalorians have vacated the system and gone to Anaxes, no doubt intent on pressuring Grandmaster Dragonsflame and former Vice Chancellor Fenn into acquiescing to a demand that will still lead us to war in the near future. The civilians are returning home, and the Temple is secure. I'm sure the Army or Navy would have more need of you than we."

Blessed are the peacemakers
Tracyn stepped down the stairs, and glanced upwards to the sky. His eyes danced over [member="Sarge Potteiger"], and then raised a brow. Hard to believe he was using a passive aggressive tone to the commander of the military, but then again, he didn't know the man personally. Tracyn's eyes glanced upward to the sky. No threatening Beskar-plated vessels.

"The Mandalorians have a right to be upset, but...this may be an unprecedented reaction."Tracyn said, approaching the two men.

[after multiple requests to resolve this, and give a solid answer, I'm gonna take a rare step in with faction leader and get things back on track.]

Carn abruptly appeared through hologram, apparently having been following this remotely for some time. Wasting absolutely no element of his sudden appearance, he spoke with an authorative voice...

"The Republic and thr Jedi Order will not yield Korriban. It is of vital importance to keep the threat of a Sith Resurgence from emergin. As for Etti? The delegates present will offer a trade of their choice. One world of similar importance and resource in return for withdrawal from or handover of the planet. If no world can be agreed upon, then we request that the mandalorians withdraw from the planet closest to republic space in return for the Republic's withdrawal from Etti IV. The Mandalorians will also refrain from placing any sizable force in republic space again, and the republic will do the same for forces in Mandalorian space."

It was clear that Carn intended to settle this immediately.

Mia studied the blue tinted form of [member="Carn Dista"] with cold eyes.

"No."

The single syllable was spoken quietly, but reverberated round the room. "The fleet here today is as of a direct result from republic actions to take Etti IV. Aside from that, we have no reason to withdraw from anywhere. So we won't. Withdraw from Etti IV and any other disputes we will strive to settle in a diplomatic manner in the future. Though I can offer you no promises."
