I continued to run with her, feeling the shadow of the city as it loomed over us, though my focus on keeping pace with Saryana, kept my attentions focused on her and the road, not the destination ahead. That is, not until we actually reached it. When we entered through the city walls, I took a moment to look up and was instantly stunned. I lost all movement in my legs and my golden eyes widened at the view before me. "Holy..." It was beautiful. Even in its rubble, the tall spires rose into the air, and trees surrounded us in the lower levels. Nature and technology all mixed harmoniously into one, and yet it was nothing like kashyyyk, the only other planet I had ever seen to do such a thing.
Around us, shops bustled and the streets were walked by other zorrens, people of my own kind. One of them must have notice my expression because as I stared up at the wondrous towers, I felt a hand on my shoulder, and the natural prick of long nails. A voice spoke to me, elderly and kind. "Welcome home." At that moment, I felt the first tears fall and I cried in joy. Home. Welcome home. For so long, I had waited for those words and now that I had, it was a surreal moment, a paradise I would NEVER forget.
