Strengths:

  • Environmental Protection: Due to the often varied jobs required of members of the military of the Eriaduan Authority, the EA-BDU is designed to serve functionally both as armour for ground operations and as a vacuum-sealed suit for pilots. Due to the effort that has gone into designing it for use in space, the EA-BDU subsequently provides significant environmental protection.
  • Lightweight: Designed not to interfere with the maneuverability of wearers, the EA-BDU is a particularly lightweight and flexible uniform, making it particularly useful for recon and exploration. Additionally, its lightweight design has made it surprisingly comfortable, and it can be worn for long periods without discomfort.
Weaknesses:
  • Stock-Standard: Aside from its unique vacuum-seal and environmental modifications, the EA-BDU has no real systems or defenses that would put it above any other standard armour one could purchase on the market. It especially offers little protection in regards to kinetic force.
  • Not-so-Subtle: As a uniform, the EA-BDU is emblazened with the Red, Gold and White colours that represent the government's military. Unfortunately, these are colours that tend to stick out, making the uniform not especially useful when it comes to stealth.
DESCRIPTION

Considering the often varied roles that members of the armed forces of the Eriaduan Authority play, often needing to be able to adapt to jobs that would shift between ground and space combat quickly, it was determined that the mercenary outfit needed a standard uniform which would allow for this modularity. The task of creating a uniform that could provide solid protection, environmental defence on par with a pilot's flight suit, and represent the government's military, was given to Crimson Designs, the workshop functioning as part of the military. The result of this task was the EA-BDU, ticking all of the required boxes.

Strengths:

(+) Blaster resistance – Due to the dual redundancy protection from blasters (the Xythan Force Shields and outer-Phrik plating), this armour system is almost impervious against standard handheld blasters. Although, larger blaster cannons or concentrated fire may be able to overload the Xythan Force Shielding, where the wearer will be made more vulnerable.
(+) Kinetic resistance – The layer of NWRAIP between the outer armour and the pilot provides a defence against kinetic weaponry or impact as it hardens when subjected to enough stress. Fast-moving projectiles will be able to penetrate this layer before the polymer can harden. The NWRAIP will not prevent particularly large collisions, where the entire body is moved, from causing internal damages to the pilot.
(+) Lightsaber Resistance – As with the blaster resistance, this armour system features a duel-redundancy against lightsabers. Albeit, it should be noted that due to the significant power output of ligthsaber, it will not take long for the Xythan Force Shields to be overwhelmed if in contact with a lightsaber. The Phrik plates are also no invulnerable and can be pierced with sustained impacts from the lightsaber.
(+) Powered armour – Artificial muscle substantially increases the pilot’s strength. This allows the wearer to move the extreme weight of the suit freely.
(+) Artificial Intelligence & Sensory Array – These systems work together in order to map out the surrounding area and provided easily accessible data to the pilot. The sensors help track incoming projectiles and blaster-fire, allowing the AI to dedicate more power to the areas of shields where there is a greater concentration of fire.
(+) HUD – This provides the pilot with easily accessible information.
(+) Partially functioning thruster pack – This armour system does not feature a jetpack; instead, it features a thruster pack. This addition allows the wearer to make quick evasion and navigate in zero gravity environments, however, does not allow the suit to fly.


Weaknesses:

(-) ION/EMP Resistance – The Xythan Force Shields are the only protection this armour system has from ION weaponry. If the armour was hit when unshielded it is likely that all the computer systems of the suit would be neutralised until rebooted or repaired. The artificial muscles would cease to operate, making the pilot trapped inside the suit, unable to move. The pilot would also feel the effects of the ION weaponry which may stun them.
(-) Sensor Jamming – This armour system does not feature any countermeasures to protect its sensory array from being jammed. If the sensor array were to be jammed, all optical and auditory information from the surroundings would cease, making the pilot would be unable to hear or see. The Artificial Intelligence would also be unable to assist with any combative processes.
(-) Weight – The extreme weight of the suit makes it impossible to enter without the aid of dedicated machinery or a team of people. The excessive weight makes moving suit unaided difficult; if the artificial muscle ceases to function the pilot will not be able to function the suit and will instead be trapped in place.
(-) Cost & Complexity – Any damages to this armour system cannot be repaired on the battlefield, instead, it must be taken to an Orion Corporation’s facility.
(-) Information protection – Due to the innovative design and information stored within this armour system, if it becomes nonfunctional due to damages on the battlefield it will begin a self-destruct procedure; this process cannot be stopped. The armour will allow unrestricted power output from its nuclear fusion reactor, which will cause a reactor meltdown. The pilot will be ejected and has 5 minutes to vacate the area before this happens.



Description:


The Helmet:
Unlike most other armour helmets, the Hunter armour system does not feature a visor or any other form of a viewport, this was done as all viable transparent materials would cause the armour's protection to suffer and would act as a weak point in combat environments. Instead, the armour used a range of sensors to project a view of the surrounding area to the pilot. These sensors allow the wearer to see greater distances than with the naked eye, and the on board AI is capable of indicating threats and highlighting points of interest. Though this sensor array has its own drawbacks; if the sensors are jammed the pilot may experience either complete sensory blackout or blind spots, depending on the severity of the jamming. This will put the pilot in a vulnerable state until the system reboots and the sensor array is restored or until the armour's helmet is removed, however, this will severely reduce the effective protection of the Hunter armour system.


Artificial Intelligence:
As stated previously, the Hunter armour system utilises an advanced sensor array to aid the on board artificial intelligence with detecting threats and highlighting points of interest. The AI also has a range of other functions within the armour; one such function is the tracking of incoming blasterfire and projectiles. The advanced sensors are used by the AI to track all incoming energy and kinetic weaponry, the AI is then able to localise the Xythan Force Shields in the area of impact, intercepting the projectiles and preventing any damages. This also works to save energy as the Xythan Force Shields do not have been active with full coverage at all times. The final function of the AI is to aid the pilot in hand-to-hand combat, specifically against force users; whereas normal human reflexes cannot keep up with the speed and ferocity of attacks from trained force users, the AI is capable of tracking the attacks and eventually learning the fighting style of the opponent. The AI can then take control of the Hunter armour, using its wide knowledge of hand-to-hand combat techniques to defeat the opponent. This is not an assured outcome, however, the system has been shown to be more effective than fighting unaided. All these features will cease to function if the sensor array is jammed or damaged as the artificial intelligence requires the input from the surroundings.


Armour:
The majority of the protection for the armour system is provided by the Phrik plating; this plating is present on every part of the body, excluding the joints. This allows for an almost full-body coverage of blaster and lightsaber resistant armour. The Phrik plating also allows for protection against kinetic-based weaponry (e.g. slugthrowers), however much of the kinetic energy will be transferred which could still cause damage to the pilot. To improve the effectiveness of the armour against kinetic weaponry and impacts, another layer of experimental protection was added. Between the outer layer of Phrik plating and body glove is a free-flowing layer of NWRAIP (link to this found above in the ‘materials’ section). This polymer acts like a gel whilst under no stress, which allows for this under-layer to be moved easily without inhibiting the movement of the wearer. When struck with enough kinetic energy, the polymer hardens in order to prevent the energy transfer to the pilot or to stop the projectile and prevent penetration. This layer does not provide any extra protection against energy-based weaponry. The outermost layer of protection is found with the Xythan Force Shields, these shields have the ability to deflect all types of energy based weaponry, including the energy from lightsabers. These shields can be easily be overwhelmed with dedicated shield-buster weaponry or with sustained fire from blasters and other energy-based weaponry.


Energy Source:
The Hunter armour system uses a micro-fusion reactor to power all aspects of the suit. This reactor is located at the rear of the suit and is protected by thick layers of Phrik due to its importance. The reactor is functioning at all times during the suit's operation and, because it is a fusion reactor, it does not produce any waste products. The fusion reactor is capable of generating enough energy to power all the systems contained within the suit, however, power cells are also present which can store excess energy for use when needed.


Other features:
The Hunter armour system also featured a layer of artificial muscle around the body of the pilot. This muscle allows the wearer to support the extreme weight of the suit without inhibiting their movement speed. Although it is not its primary purpose; physical attacks with the suit appear to be stronger – for instance, punching power whilst wearing the suit exceeds that any normal human. This isn’t due to the artificial muscle but is instead because of the weight of suit behind every punch.


History:
The idea of powered armour came to Jaccer after he encountered an Anno-dat Prime wearing a similar set of armour, during this encounter, he noted the raw power and speed that one was capable of whilst wearing such an armour system. Although the armour was slightly damaged and was seen as primitive, Jaccer made efforts to collect the armour and deliver it to The Orion Corporation after the situation had been resolved; this armour became the prototype for the Hunter armour system. The development of this armour started and remained as a closely guarded secret within The Orion Corporation due to the advanced the internal and external systems, because of this the armour was not given a production name and instead was dubbed ‘PROJECT: HUNTER’, giving it the unofficial name of ‘Hunter’. Only a handful of Orion Corporation engineers who are working on the project and the high up officials are aware of the armour and its operational history. The entire armour system was built around the body dimension of Jaccer Ramirez, and so anybody else who attempted to pilot the armour would be unable to or would feel a great discomfort.

Description:

The Gree were once one of the most advanced races the galaxy has ever witnessed. They predated the Rakatan Infinite Empire by milennia. Their technology was some of the most advanced in history. This navicomputer is a small slice of that technology brought into the modern world.

During the Galactic Cold War, Sith forces had discovered the Gree navicomputer and had stored the blueprints in their archives. Republic spies discovered this, performing a risky mission to recover these precious documents and bring them to one of their secret research facilities in Wild Space. These blueprints sat idle for generations, until they were discovered by a team of Marines led by Captain Nexub during a totally unrelated operation.

The Marines would give the schematics to Lord Ajihad, who was looking to install advanced navigation computers in his own ship. His team of scientists were able to reconstruct the computer after careful studying of the blueprints, but there was one outstanding problem. You needed six arms to use it.

After many unsuccessful attempts at fixing this, the team managed to come up with a remedy. Not wanting to mess with the current system, they developed an overlapping layer that would allow someone with two arms to control the six-arm system. However, this itself has a disadvantage. In order to operate this, someone must have extremely quick reactions and thinking speed. Like, beyond the realm of any normal creature. Speeds at this level could be accomplished over short periods of time by someone channeling copious amounts of the force. Also, droids with fast enough processors would be able to work quickly enough to pilot a ship using this system. This itself is a major inconvenience, not to mention that the extra layer makes the computer a bit bulkier than what most are used to.

DESCRIPTION

Kalor-Tech saw the need to produce powerful ion ammunition that was compatible with standard slugthrower weaponry. This includes shotguns, turrets, cannons, and artillery. They were able to get their hands on a good deal of ionite, though it wasn't enough for large-scale production. Instead, its usage was limited to strictly private means.

What makes this shell so powerful, obviously, is its utilization of the rare compound of ionite. Its unique properties allow it to drain shields with ease. Even in comparison to other forms of ion weaponry, this is in a league of its own. The shell will explode once it encounters adequate resistance (upon impact with shields, hull, etc). This will trigger an explosion, resulting it a powerful, concentrated blast of ionite coming in contact with the desired target. This will drain shields in just a few shots (depending on the size of the shell), as well as wreck havoc on any electronics it touches.

This form of ammunition was designed to have a broad range of applications, from larger slugthrowers to artillery cannons on board a capital ship. The shells can be sized and shaped to fit most slugthrower weapons no smaller than a shotgun.

Of course, this shell shares the same weakness as all form of ion weaponry. It is almost useless against hulls or other such solid barriers. The shells would barely make a dent in a good hull, limiting them to the role of anti-shield weapons in combat.

DESCRIPTION

In his quest to create a truly advanced personal starship, Lord Ajihad saw the need for a state-of the art tracking computer that could do more than just the status quo of the time. He wanted something that could truly change the game of space combat and give a ship with the system an upper hand in any engagement. He first commissioned the Paladin Consortium to construct an ever-expanding database of starships. Legally and illegally, information, blueprints, etc. are constantly collected by Consortium-paid slicers and infochants. This data includes information on ship structure, weapon systems, defense systems, weaknesses, strengths, etc. That's where the computer comes in to play. Upon tracking a vehicle, the computer uses the ship's scanners to acquire the target. Using millions of reference points, the vehicle is matched to its file in the database. The target's information is displayed on the screen and awaits further instructions.

There are two firing modes on the computer: automatic and manual. In automatic mode, the computer attacks a ship as soon as it is marked as an enemy. It will by nature concentrate fire on the weak points and avoid strong points. It automatically syncs with the onboard weapon systems so it can use different attack methods for different types of shielding or defense arrays. When engaging multiple targets, it automatically assigns each vehicle a designated threat level based on ship type and proximity. It will then proceed to engage targets accordingly. The computer can also adapt to team aerial combat. As ally ships are identified engaging other targets, it will lower the threat level of that particular enemy to increase effectiveness and performance. In manual firing mode, the computer goes through essentially the same process without firing on its own accord. The computer makes a recommendation, but the choice to fire is ultimately up to gunner.

Another feature worth mentioning is the network's self-updating capabilities. When a ship is scanned and analyzed and it does not have a file to match, a temporary is sent back to Consortium Base Aurek to be processed. If it is determined that this ship is indeed a unique case rather than computer error, it is added to the database as a new vessel. If new weaknesses or features are discovered on a ship with an existing file, it too will be processed and eventually added to the profile for future reference.

The computer is larger than a typical targeting system, making it impossible to use on smaller ships. It also requires holonet capabilities to connect to the central database and onboard scanners to assist in analyzing targets. Its limited production makes it unlikely it will ever go to the open markets, as well as Ajihad's selfishness in wanting to contain this technology to allied forces only.

Strengths:
  • Very High blaster resistance can be explained by the pre frozen carbonite atoms combined with the durasteel to make a very strong blaster resistant compound, however, there is always a chance to pierce with multiple blaster shots to the exact same spot.
  • The leather enhanced by the strong force use makes the user extremely agile within the suit of armour.
  • Has very high lightsaber resistance from the Phrik.
  • Has extreme blaster resistance from the Phrik.
Weaknesses:
  • Heavily restricted movement underwater because the leather soaks up the water and becomes extremely heavy underwater.
  • Extreme temperatures make the leather defect and therefore this can restrict movement until repaired.
  • All augmentations created with force use are completely nullified in a Force Neutralising zone.
  • As the Phrik breaks it can be extremely expensive to repair.
  • Eventhough the armour is strong, the bones in the body can still be broken from kinetic impact.
DESCRIPTION
The suit was crafted by an extremely powerful Sith Lord. This Sith Lord had worn the armour for years and could not be killed as the armour was so powerful. It was supported by the large power the Lord held in the force. The Sith Lord had been wearing it for years. With his power, the Sith Lord defected from the Empire. He killed his Apprentices, letting the story get out. many people heard of the armour, they wanted it badly.

He found shelter on Byss and attempted to develop an army. He recruited a new young Apprentice who pretended to be very loyal to him. they developed new technology and thousands of blueprints of different materials for different armour types for their army. Slowly the Sith Lord grew older. He grew more unaware and grew a large friendhsip with his Apprentice. The Apprentice was younger than the Sith Lord and saw the power of the armour first hand multiple times. The Sith Lord went to his Apprentice one day and told him "It's time to recruit people for our army, i'm growing old and ever since this armour was created this has been my goal. We must do it now". The two men went up into a tall tower, reaching the clouds on Byss. They stood and looked out the window. Ready for an army to appear. The Sith Lord started entering the coordinates of different planets to send messages and holograms to them, telling them to come to the planet for wealth and power.

He entered his first coordinate, for the planet Mon Cala. The Apprentice looked over at the Sith Lord, he murmured "Wait a second". The Sith Lord looked over and took his helmet off, the only piece that hadn't fully binded. The Apprentice slowly moved closer to the Lord. The Lord frowned with his Apprentice now stood in front of him. "Wha-?". As his mouth opened, the Apprentic stuck a knife into his throat, his lust for power and the armour was too strong, the surprise of the attack was too much for the Lord to resist, bleeding from his mouth, froth forming around his lips, the Lord fell, rather gracefully, toward the ground. The life form inside, had died. An energy blast that acted like an EMP and a normal explosion. Damaging the surroundings and electronics.

The circuits in the computer that held the coordinates of Mon Cala had short circuited, and the emergency procedure was completed. The message had sent to Mon Cala...

A small boy growing up had recently had his birthday, and had received a holodisk that produced the hologram message sent to Mon Cala, where the boy lived.

As he grew older he forgot about the hologram and one day grew bored. He went through his older items, remembering back to his now passed away parents. He found the hologram again. When he saw the hologram, he figured he would check out this planet called Byss that the message had been sent from. As he landed he saw rubble everywhere but there was a red glow within it, out of interest he dug through the rubble, seeing a suit of armour upon the ground. He immediately recognised it, as he touched it, the glow was no longer red, it was white, he put it on and forever, never let go.
