The Burning of Thyferra | TSE Invasion of GA Held Thyferra Hex

Bacta Lab #9
[member="Kaida Taldir"]

She had not noticed it at first, but the beeping in her ears slowly subsided and the roar of fire and hum of a lightsabre came back to her sense of earing. Her head ached, but she put it aside - Funnelling her pain into power - and focused her attention on the source of the hum and bright plasmic light. Her eyes darted around the room, taking in the reshaped surroundings.

Corpses lay strewn, torn apart by force or shrapnel, or simply crushed under debris. Bacta flowed freely from the broken glass tanks, draining down into duracrete cracks and pooling in dips on the floor; touching the cold fingers of ice and reflecting the dancing fire.

Darth Ophidia quietly brought her sabre hand to the rim of her armour and made a beckoning gesture with her index and middle finger. In response, a black serpent slithered out from under it and curled itself around her arm. She set it down on the floor and made a quick gesture with her hand, giving the tsaisibola its orders. The black snake's scales quickly changed colours to match the surroundings as it turned its head and slithered off to the side, beginning its climb of one of the building's remaining structural pillars.

While the serpent climbed, Ophidia rose to her full height. Her presence quickly baked into the surrounding, dissipating, but not entirely vanishing. It was a watered down version of her true stealth, but it sufficed to diffuse her approach as she slipped around the side of the ice-cone and darted at the ice-elf. The scarlet blade of her sabre ignited as she came into measure of clashing blades, going straight into a thrust for the armpit. She was aiming to slip in between any eventual armour plating and pierce the lung, or at least deliberate the arm. That is, if she struck true.

As she made her thrust, a Sith Imperial star destroyer crashed into the city in the distance. She could see it before she heard it or felt the tremor. The enormous vessel flattened all that it touched, and threw a vast blanket of dust and debris into the air. The rumble soon followed. She could feel it taking the structure around them, dislodging duracrete and steel. It sounded like a night-long thunderstorm condensed into a minute, and she could feel the lives snuffed out underneath the massive ships.

A loss to the Empire, but a dagger to the heart of Thyferra. As usual, the Jedi were careless with the damage they caused. At least when she caused a mass murder, she owned up to it.

He had not unleashed his full power with the force shock wave, he did not have the intention to destablise the bacta labs but it had had the desired effect. Theo watched as the woman sort to protect herself and leap away from the wave. That was to be expected, and although the intention was to buy some time and access the situation it had not transpired the way in which in wanted. First came the the sound so loud it would split the mind and ears as a star destroyer crashed into the city not that far from their location. Soon after a shock wave of a different magnitude hit them and everything around them and more destruction cause pieces of debris from everywhere to descend upon them all. It did not discriminate, both sides would suffer in the wake of it. The forces from both sides killed or seriously injured, incapacitated to fight. This whole thing, was madness.

Theo flew through the air once more, this time no produce of the woman but the wave from the crash, more to come it seemed. The debris rained down around them all, burying them with burn hot metal, dirty and who knew what else, it did not bear thinking. He was fortunate enough not to have found large chunks of metal pinning him down but everything else did, including what was left of body it seemed to be the lower torso of a soldier with one leg ripped off. Theo choked on the foul air around them, thick with dust and smoke as he turned his body to push off the ground once more.

The force rippled again, the power summon to the woman as she stood unsteady as he did, but her determination new no bounds. He summon the force as well, preparing for whatever she had in mind to throw at him, it was powering his limbs set to discharge in the palms of his hands when he felt it, the choking grip to his throat. He retaliated with a powerful force push, aimed squarely to her center of her chest. He had been already struggling to breath, her grip like a vice loosened as his push would ram into her, or at least take her mind off what she had intended. Her would not be her rag doll today.

There was a disturbance in the force, a threat of danger to someone dear to him. [member="Kiriko"]. He turned in the direction of the city now all but razed, you could not see it really as the thick cloud of toxic smoke clung to the sky over it. But Theo tried to find his friend through the force, sending him hope and whatever energy he could muster to him, but it would be too late. Sith take too much from people, without any cause for it other than their own greed and lust for death.

He would not have time to get to Kiriko, he knew that.

That drew her out.

The Dark Lord strode forth, unstoppable and as merciless as a tidal wave. Each heavy footfall cracked the weathered and decrepit marble tile that lined the estate's floors. His lit lightsaber cast a horrid red glow on all of their surroundings, lightly clashing with the hue given off by the Jedi's saberstaff.

Fighting him head-to-head was a suicidal gesture, she was most likely aware of the severe gap between the two of them.

And chasing her around as she weaved in and out of his range would be infuriatingly exhausting, so Carnifex moved to bring her to him. He reached out with his left hand and gripped the estate floor with the Force, and with a single motion ripping it up in and around the Jedi's feet to unbalance and knock her to the floor.

Then he'd move in.

Vaylin let out a small growl upon seeing Fel deflect the stab. She had hoped to equally incapacitate the Jedi, but it seemed his defensive stance was able to trump her offense - at least in that moment. The Zabrak moved back as Fel began to swing his lightsaber, moving it in a fan-like motion.

She attempted to attack, shifting forwards and plunging her lightsaber between the Jedi's defence. But the arcing movement was keeping her at bay.

No matter, she had a number of tricks up her sleeve.

As Vaylin continued to move backwards, she called upon the 'Firestarter' that was tucked away beneath her armour. The Dark Side began to pulse from it, at first it was barely a trickle; easily mistaken for the Zabrak herself. But within moments it grew more intense, right up to the moment where Fel brought his lightsaber down against Vaylin again.

She blocked it with her lightsaber, but before the Jedi could grab her belt, the Zabrak unfurled her free hand and released a fire ball straight into Fel's chest.

Moments later was when the tremors struck and shook the lab without mercy. Something had happened, not too far away and if Vaylin had to guess, it had orginated in the nearby city. She didn't know what it was, but the Zabrak could feel dread through the Force; a disturbance that followed after death.

The sensation was intoxicating, almost drowning out everything around her. Vaylin could just barely hear the comm chatter from the troops further in, alarmed and questioning what had just happened. Vaylin however was focused on her fight, striding towards her opponent once again.

The smile that had begun to form as the fight began and the thrill took over Krest's fake heart faded as soon as the lethal intent he was expecting from [member="Kamon Vondiranach"] only left the old man wanting. He stood there gazing down the inactive cylinder of the Jedi's second blade as a sigh escaped his lips. Jedi talked to much. "In my long life there has only been one thing that actually makes me feel alive. The dark is a cruel mistress."

He didn't bother looking up as the ship came overhead, but he could sense the danger. "I think, sadly, this means we'll have to continue at a later date, hmm?"

When the flank came crashing in the battle shifted then.

If it wasn't a massacre before it was now. The Jen'Lazea surrounded the forces of the alliance a renewed pincer attack crashed into either side of their forces while the graug closed in on front and behind in a terrible vice grip. When the crimson lightning smashed into the firing line the entire horde was thrown into a fever frenzy at the appearance of their lord on the battlefield fighting like beasts possessed, even the wounded seemed to get a second wind at the vigor that swept through. The very first one to break the firing line and lead the graug in this slaughter was Malgrog. The God-Splitter looked like some terrifying demon with his flesh caked with blood, dirt, and strands from his slain enemies covering his hide and bone that adorned his form. Every swing of the war maul crushed men and sent others careening through the air, while every swipe of the horrific claw on his other hand sliced the soldiers into pieces.

Then he saw him.

The familiar markings of the commander a fear in his eyes as he struggled to get ahold of the situation he found himself in. It was too late for him or his men and the look in his eyes told the High Warlord that, it was a look he knew all too well from many victims of his wrath. The massive graug charged forward roaring loudly as he stomped his bulk crushing bone as he moved over corpses. The man tried to run from the charging graug his weapon damaged from the artillery strike but it was too late. Malgrog struck him in the back with the flat section of his at maul enough to knock the man flat on his face. The High Warlord then drove the clawed blades on his other hand right through the man's back and lifted him high in the air for all to see.

"FOR THE EMPEROR!"

Lightning. Green lightning poured from the hand of Master Raaf arcing across the field right towards him. Just as he learned how to dish out lightning so did he learn how to receive it as well. Tutaminis was a technique used to handle energy blasts such as blasters or even lightning and he was well familiar with such a skill. The Shadow Hand used the force to toss one of his lightsabers wide and long in a saber throw to cleave down several soldiers while his empty hand came up he created a small swirling ball of dark blue energy in the palm. As the lightning descended the outstretched orb drew the arcs that were heading towards him into it, collecting in his hand. The graug around him weren't so lucky however. They were nailed by the green energy howling in agony as the lightning charred flesh, they suffered and died.

Darth Prazutis called his tossed blade back to his hand then as he charged towards Taeli closing the distance. He brought blade after blade down a hybrid style of djem-so, and jar'kai with the ferocious strikes of juyo mixed on. In close quarters he made use of his enormous strength to his advantage to overwhelm his foe. This was a delicate game they were in, but to sell it he couldn't pull any punches.

A backdoor.

A minute.

There was so much that she wanted to know, but she had all she needed now.

"Okay, yeah, I see it," Saoirse agreed rapidly. Her voice was dry and focused, missing distress - not because it wasn't there, but because she'd decided it was of no use to her. "On three?- Screw it, let's go."

Then Saoirse ran.

Instead of running straight for the door the brunette strayed to the walls, hiding behind the pandemonium as she made a beeline for the bar. Saoirse fiercely hated risking lives for any reason under any circumstances, but she was a creature ruled by her head - and remarkably good at skirting blame. It wasn't her fault that they were under attack. It wasn't within her abilities to save them all. And with that in mind? She had no difficulty letting the rest of the crowd take the fire while she raced towards her exit.

The door came into view all at once and Saoirse nearly crashed coming to a halt before the way out. She was less of a target this far back, but she wasn't planning on lingering longer than she had to.

"Hey-" feth, why hadn't she asked for her name? Because you were running for your life. Right. Saoirse whirled around, almost surprised to see the other woman a few feet away. "Okay, good, you're..." her words were vague, and they trailed off as she tried opening the door. "I think it's stuck, give me- there!"

With a groan, the door was forced open. Saoirse gestured at Mara, a rushed you first - but she followed at once.

Shockingly, as he was hoisted into the air by the monster's clawed gauntlet, the commander wasn't dead yet. He had the chance to look over what remained of his men, fighting desperately to hold out against the Sith monsters, of the Jedi Master fighting against the Sith Lord bearing down on them all. Blood was welling up in his mouth, dripping down the monster Graug's arm, but he still had a bit of fight left in him. He primed one of the grenades hanging from his belt, unused in the confusion from the sudden attack.

"For..." he coughed, blood splattering into the air, "the Alliance..."

The beeping of a frag grenade would be the Graug's only warning that his victim, the commander of the Alliance soldiers, had died in vain. It probably wouldn't kill the mighty High Warchief, but... as the life slipped from the commander, he took solace that the monster was about to suffer some damage. The beeping intensified, only a second away from detonation.

Meanwhile, Taeli was becoming intimately familiar with why Prazutis was the Dark Lord's Shadow Hand. His fighting style was ferocious with a lightsaber, power designed to just crush his opponent's defense. She was forced to rely on her double-bladed lightsaber, falling into the defensive use of Soresu that Darth Zannah had created and she had studied from her holocron. It relied, as her usual Makashi did, on redirection and deflection rather than straight on meeting his blades, and constant continuous movement of her lightsaber blades, momentum and cadence the key. Twirling her lightsaber, she formed a protective barrier of lightsaber blades, backing up the whole time as she deflected blows to the sides, or deflected them into one of the Sith Lord's minions. However, because she opted for the defense, she had no room to launch an attack of her own.

He was definitely making this real.

He looked at the girl as she swept the hammer and blocked the stun bolt. The blue bolt disappeared on the metal head of the weapon like the hopes of a young man who just got "friend zoned". He held his broken hand to his chest as she stoof and came at him screaming' hammer attck' and he would have laughed had the hammer not been directed at his horned head.

He didn't want to hurt the girl, if he was honest he didn't much care for hurting anyone, but he was obviously not getting through to her about the need for the Sith to get the hell off the world. He dug deep into himself and stretched out with his feeling for the force. It felt like a muscle that you forgot you had finally getting the chance to do something. A wave of dizzyness hit him and the girl's hammer transformed into a giant nuna. The force came but he had forgotten what to do with it, so he focused on the end of her nose and flicked it with the force.

his blaster came up as he looked at the giant nuna being held by the neck, huge clawed feet aimed at him and he fired at her hand again. One flick on the nose and a stun bolt to the hand, that made sense to him.

Vexen watched from afar as the city continued to burn, ashes filling the air as starfighters and larger vessels were engaged in dogfights and battle. The steady cannonade from the Harbingers positioned around the city was heard as buildings were torn down under their own weight that could no longer be supported. It was indeed a sight to behold for the Sith. not so much for the Galactic Alliance or those that lived in the city. The Sith Knight would glance over at the Grand Inquisitor at his side as the Star Destroyers positioned over the city were engaged by the Galactic Alliance fleet.

" It appears that the Galactic Alliance is as foolish as their allies from the Silver Jedi Order. They would rather see the destruction and death of innocent civilians at their own hands rather than ours. " The armored Sith would turn back as one of the Star Destroyers' bridge exploded in a ball of flame, falling down towards the city. A grin would form underneath the Sith's helmet as he shook his head and held his hands behind his back. It was a disaster slowly unfolding and ready to unleash as the seconds ticked by. It would be mere moments away from impacting the center of the city.

Five. Vexen would lift his hand as he directed his comms to the artillery crews. " Target any vessels that come within range. Destroy their engines or target any transports holding position as they attempt to evacuate civilians. All crews are weapons free. " Four. The Sith Knight's orders were heard as Harbinger crews began to cease their rhythmic cannonade assault on the city and began picking their own targets at will. Three. Sith Empire Infantry would begin to shift and move as the Fang wardroids began to assemble into long rows. Two. Time seemed to pause as a disaster was ready to befall the city; the image of a Star Destroyer ready to land forever captured by a droid recording the incident. One...
B o o m
The Star Destroyer crashed into the center of the city as the death tolls would have probably shot up significantly more. It mattered not if one was a civilian or soldier; no man, woman, or child would escape the indifferent destruction that fell upon them. The Star Destroyer tore through the city like a knife through butter. Vexen would let out a vocoded chuckle as he watched the destruction unfold before speaking. " The crew of one of your vessels has done a commendable act by falling upon the city Grand Inquisitor. Their final act will serve us well. In the meantime, might I recommend your fighters target their medevacs? The worth of one pilot for dozens or hundreds of those poor civilians is a good exchange indeed. "

The armored Sith cared not for the casualties of his allies, so long as the Galactic Alliance received a clear message. The Sith Empire will not tolerate being stepped upon by anyone. His troops would begin to advance on the city, a march with a twofold objective. Begin the recovery and extraction of their own troops whilst tearing down and butchering anyone that stood against them.

Well, that didn't work.

Had Sundara been expecting much? No, not at all. Did expecting failure take away from the ping of disappointment and the urge to flee right then and there? Also, no. The silence that greeted her remark was far from reassuring, either. So it would be that type of battle, where pleasantries were neglected and the skull crushing would commence before one knew it. Great, just what the Devaronian wanted in a fight.

Well, that meant her death could be a quick one, right? There was that going for her, at least. But the longer she lasted, the more people would escape this monster's blade, right? Of all ways to look at this ordeal, that was certainly one of them.

The ground beneath her shook. More than that, it was practically torn to shreds from under her feet by forces she couldn't hope to control. Her body lurched forward and back again, struggling to maintain a balance amongst the moving rubble. She dropped to a knee to aid in the endeavor, eyes never straying from the Dark Lord for very long, never wanting to give him the opportunity to get the jump on her. Barely into a fight and already at a disadvantage. Truly, things were looking absolutely fantastic for the Jedi.

Yeah, she probably should've ran when she had the chance.

Death was everywhere. It was a constant in the universe. From the moment the first primitive sentient had realised that he could resolve disputes over hunting or mating rights by using a rock to crush his neighbour's skull, existence has been defined by struggle.

Today, the people of Thyferra had been forced to realise this simple truth. For burning death descended upon their city. Cries of despair, fear and terror echoed across the city, particularly evident to those sensitive to the Force. In addition, there was the deafening sound caused by the crashes, not to mention the quakes that ensued. Enyo had seen all this before – on Korriban. Perhaps somewhere on Thyferra, a Galactic Alliance soldier, a Jedi, a Sith or a common civilian would claw their way out of the rubble, with a broken, hideously burnt body, and emerge stronger by having endured the fires of tribulation.

A forceful push rippled from the Jedi. His aim might or might not have been affected by the grip around his throat, but it still rammed into her, pushing her towards some debris. The Force wrapped itself around her to mitigate the impact somewhat. She gripped her hammer tightly to keep it from slamming into her skull. Her HUD registered that her left arm and shoulder had sustained damage. Impaired motor functions, a series of destroyed circuits. Her fingers were slower to respond.

Her head was out of alignment. There was a crunch when she righted it. Her red eyes flashed behind her human irises. One eye would not stop flickering. She took stock of the situation. The huge clouds of smoke were an annoyance, before she adjusted her vision. Luckily, the foulness in the air did not trouble her since she did not breathe.

The Jedi had been freed from her grip, but he seemed...distracted. Enyo could feel a spark of concern emanating from him, along with energy flowing elsewhere. She did not know about the polar bear and his valiant effort to save lives. What she saw was a potential opening she could perhaps exploit, since his attention appeared to be split. Large chunks of metal and shrapnel were pulled into the sky and rained down upon him as she unleashed a telekinetic whirlwind of debris, producing a cyclone of death. With enough force to hurt even through armour.

There was a jolt inside her skull, a sign that Neda was using her implants to contact her. She accepted the call, without breaking off her assault. As expected, it was her lieutenant. "Boss, what the frak's going on? Did you order an earthquake?"

"SD crash. Continue with the mission." Enyo's response was predictably laconic.

"Yes, Boss. Almost done." She terminated the connection. By now the Sith Legionnaires and the Iron Fist Consortium cyborgs had penetrated the labs and reached the bacta itself. Powerful trembled rocked the facility, but the cyborgs continued with their mission. Kill, pillage, burn.

Shrouded in the Force, the spider approached, darting towards the Angelii. Kaida held her ground. Her gifts helped her dull the pain somewhat. She found solace in the ice - both within and without. A huge Star Destroyer crashed into the city, causing epic tremors, like those of an earthquake. The earth shook, and around them the structure began to come apart. Where burning death descended from the sky, lives were crushed.

The ice inside Kaida did not budge, having firmly encased her heart. She was unperturbed. C'est la guerre. War is hell. The Sith had desired carnage and achieved their goal in that regard. As usual, the Jedi were hopelessly incompetent. Pity both orders and their minions could not be wiped out for good.

Her attention remained on one thing - her own fight. Her Sciia screamed inside her mind, shouting a warning. In the same moment as the warships fell from the heavens, she saw...something out of her peripheral vision.

Her body ached, but she willed it to haste. Pain was just weakness leaving the body. Quickly, she dragged her dominant leg back and shifted her armoured shoulders away, as the scarlet blade was ignited with the trademark snap-hiss and thrust towards her armpit.

She felt a searing burn and grit her teeth, when the blade kissed her shoulder. The contact was brief and the blade ended safely away, beyond her chest. There was a painful wince when the injury inside her leg, the one she'd sustained earlier when debris came crashing down, howled in protest.

But she pulled her Sciia into her muscles and used her lead leg to spring past the Sith, taking care that her legs did not get locked up. In the same motion, she drew her sabre up beneath the Sith's attacking arm. The ice elf aimed deep with the glowing yellow blade, under her opponent's arm and beneath her neck, with her legs ready to carry her.

"What? No no no no, Joza!" Aria looked simply affronted at the very notion. "We're not burning the whole planet, are you kidding? No, we're also raiding some of it!"

If Aria didn't worry over the Sith crusade, high Aria certainly didn't. Whether the Alliance had brought it on themselves or not (they had, of course, as far as she cared) was beyond the point; she was never one to turn down an order to set things on fire. And after some spice, well. She could've just as easily put out the fires in the street as started a dozen more on another planet.

But just for now, fires were not on the agenda at all. Aria kept chatting as though she'd forgotten their surroundings.

"Oh yeah, you've gotta be careful about that Sithiness. But until he starts wearing black and laughing like a madman you can probably relax, you know? It's all about- hey, what's th- do you, uh, hear something like a really big crashing noise?" Pause. "Yeah, you're right, it's probably nothing to worry about-"

She was cut off when a city-wide collapse accompanied the massive booming CRASH, buildings caving in and crumbling as the star destroyer came crashing down on Xucphra city. Debris cascaded and Joza vanished under a spray of rubble; Aria ran and got nowhere, falling as shrapnel hit her armor.

Her usual experience with spice was more fun than this.

He could not hear the explosions, but he could see the star destroyer breaking apart in the sky.

Through the Force, the bear was aware of the planet around him. The life and the death. And everything that was in between.

He had not the strength. He had not the courage. He had not the power. He had not the heart to protect these people from the devastation that was raining down now as flaming meteors dropping from out of the sky.

But the planet did.

The Force surrounded them. Penetrated them. And bound everything together. The air. The grass. The people. The Sith. And the Jedi. It was that connection which the bear called upon now, not for himself, but for balance. Even if all else slipped away, balance must still be maintained.

Tilting his head back, the bear's dark eyes peered upward as the sky seemed to shimmer.

Over Xucphra City, a protection bubble was taking shape. Like a large umbrella in the sky, it would shield some of them from the devastation to come. There would still be destruction. The flaming debris that managed to find its way to the ground below would send dirt, ash, and toxic smoke into the atmosphere.

Kiriko could not save all of them, but he could save some of them.

And wasn't that what the Jedi were meant to do?

He was winded.

He was tired.

And he would not quit.

Taking a step forward, the bear steeled himself as he seemed to suddenly be pushing against some great weight. Struggling, slipping, straining, the bear thrust his paw forward.

As he did, the shield formed. Sparkling it came into being just in time for the first meteors to slam against the barrier erected through the Force.

A peace overcame him as the bear found his burden lifted.

Kiriko smiled.

...and then the bear disappeared, the white cloak falling into the breeze as the Beorni returned to the Force.

There was no relenting when it came to the Dark Lord's aggression.

He bounded towards her in a second, his lightsaber swinging through the air like a reaping scythe to strike at her arms and legs. Carnifex favored the aggressiveness of Djem So above all other forms, the inherent nature of the style favored his immense physical strength. His swings were wide but surprisingly fast, each attack following one after the other in a vicious cavalcade of hate. He never paused to give his opponent a moment's respite, each sequence of his assault was geared to batter and break down her defenses with unbridaled brutality.

Blocking would prove to be rather disastrous. The kinetic impact transferred from his blade stopping was enough to break wrists if caught dead-on, it wouldn't be the first time a weaker opponent had recoiled in agony as their wrists ruptured on contact.

Meanwhile all around them the battle raged. The forests burned, and starships big and small careened through the sky to crash in a brilliant eruption of metal and scorching flames.

Once Mythos had positioned his men and had them dig in with several foxholes and a parameter behind enemy lines he awaited the Artilery strikes. Mythos still had no eyes behind the hills and ridges so he made a quick decision as finally the Anubian scouts reported that the area they occupied was theirs. He decided to continiue with previous plan and move in with his small but very well armed regiment of One Sith soldiers and Anubian Scouts. using the Force to aid his movement he force jumped to the side of one of the three infantry personnel carriers while rode out in formation to flank the ridge.

Mythos had no such thing a jet pack or very efficient armor, but he did carry a kark ton of weapons with him that made him slow and a walking bomb with how many thermal detonators he had. As he approached the ridge flanking several sides of it, the Anubian soldiers took point as the vehicles took apexes. Once the Anubians, with their sensitive ears and advanced HUD systems, declared their advance sound, Mythos picked up his forces and ran them up the top of the hill.

One there Mythos had them lay prone using the entire hill as cover and concealment while he gave the order to green light fire, anything below that ridge that moved and called itself a friend of the Galactic Alliance was getting popped with Blaster Fire.

Mythos was running left and right from point to point making sure his men had ammunition, water and no injuries as well as enough energy in their HUD systems and communicators to be able to have and send information. The mission now was to establish fire superiority and with the Infantry Fighting vehicles Mythos had brought up that mission began very loudly. "Cyclic Fire!"

Mythos screamed over coms and his troops responded in kind, everything below that ridge was on the receiving end of mortar fire, machine blaster fire and rifle fire not meant to be accurate but meant to be overwhelming and numerous.

Mythos did not care if any of the blaster fire landed on anything in particular, no doubt it would, but he was concerned more in making the enemy feel the pressure of plasma and see everything around them being kicked up and shot at so they would hit the dirt and take cover while Mythos and his troops suppressed them. "Rapid Fire!" Came the second command, now the rate of fire had dropped but it was now a controlled fire to conserve ammunition and be more accurate.

Now he could start worrying about accuracy. The fire they were receiving due to their elevated position and the cover and concealment that the jungle ridge itself offered them was seldom and ineffective. There were sharp shooters in the enemy lines that caught a couple of soldiers in the dome but other than that nothing substantial took away from the fire superiority that Mythos had established.

"Sustained Fire! Team two Cyclic Fire!" With that order The enemy would get a taste of the flank side of the ridge. Using the Vehicles as cover and whatever they could find the second team of One Sith Troopers took cover in prone position and now began their cyclic bursts of fire lighting up the lower right side of the battlefield with their weapons while the first team conserved ammunition and worried more about accuracy.

"Sargent! take Command! I've got jedi to kill!"

Passing command to his Company Veteran Mythos took his weapons and charged using force augmented speed down the hill and through the cross fire of his own troops all the while squeezing down on the Samael as he went down. He carved a path of plasma and destruction with his charge and almost by a work of miracle none of his own mens fire grazed him. Soldiers stood in awe as either it was glorious courage, a suicidal tendency or just pure madness that drove Mythos to act so recklessly however one thing was certain...

He did indeed have Jedi to go kill...

The front line of the Galactic Alliance defense in the area was broken, several new platoons had begun to retreat as the Graug Forces crushed them miles away so when Mythos arrived to the heavy fighting down in the middle of the lines corpses greeted him and enemies left and right. Mythos was glad to kill Alliance Grunts but he sensed the light close by and that is exactly what he was going to hunt down. Once the Samael ran empty and had it's fill of carnage he slammed it on the charred wood beneath his feet and ignited his black bladed lightsaber.

He sensed it near by, a clash of darkness and light as well as anger, resentment and fear...

It wasn't the classical Jedi feel but it was the closest thing to light that there was in this force forsaken place.

His eyes saw it now. Jedi in combat with sith.

He let his presence be known, no need to hide his force signature here as he charged the enemy in open combat.

From the get-go, Sundara was on the defensive.

It was an intense dance of sorts, always giving ground, rarely going for a hit herself. It would be aggravating if she had the time or skill to devote her focus to anything other than the battle itself. It was no surprise the Dark Lord had her far outmatched in sheer brutality. His speed was nothing to laugh at, either. Where Djem So took its focus in power, Niman took its strengths from everything and at the same time, nothing in particular. The Jack-of-all-trades didn't have the perfect defense to counter all attacks, not on its own. It relied more so on the practitioner's own creativity and intuition, one Sundara happened to have in abundance.

Control over her apparent gift of precognition was something the knight was often lacking in. The visions came and went as they pleased, often leaving her down for the count. For one reason or another, the visions seemed to work more in her favor in the heat of battle. That was perhaps her only saving grace here, allowing her to avoid the more brutal of attacks, strategically endure what she couldn't avoid. It was a strain, the physical toll of it all being felt even in the beginning hardly being a good sign, but at least she wasn't dead. Yet.

There was no telling how long this dance would last. Sundara was not so foolish as to think she wasn't spending way too much energy to win in the long run. The moment she saw the tiniest bit of an opening, she went for it. A tight line of a grin could be seen upon her countenance as she made her move a swift and hopefully stinging strike. It was a bold move, especially for her, the Devaronian perhaps getting a bit too into the duel.

"I've never seen a shield like that, Grandpa."

"That's no shield, boy. That's the Force. Someone's dying to make that happen, keep the rubble off us. There's a good fraction of a Star Destroyer sliding down that dome, instead of hammering everything within ten blocks of us."

"A Jedi can do that?"

"You mean die for strangers, or burn up their life for a miracle? Same answer either way, boy. A real one can."

The Force stirred as Vereshin planted one foot in front of the entrance to the factory. Ripples of energy surged through the atmosphere and his spine. Mouth falling open in shock, he turned around and watched the sky darken. Explosions rained overhead as he gripped his head and ducked amidst the fire. A looming shape blurred the horizon and approached the world. Fear gripped Vereshin's every fiber and he struggled to move as panic held him in his stance. Guards left their station to run and workers fled from the factory around him.

In the moments before the impending disaster, the little Sith stood still. He felt his hands tremble as he raised them, not ready to die and not prepared to abandon [member="Pom Stych Tivé"]. The Star Destroyer approached as a glaring light cascaded from the factory entrance. Vereshin could not see anything else, so he managed to shift his feet and sprinted towards the expanding rays. He watched the Beorni disappear. The poor fool sacrificed himself to save the city, including Vereshin who had betrayed him. Confronted with the choice to assist Kiriko or run for his life, the Sith followed his instincts and ran away from the factory.

Vereshin regarded no life as sacred apart from his own and that of his significant other. The rest of the galaxy could burn as far as he cared. He channeled his fear, experiencing a surge of power as he fell further to the Dark Side and abandoned his Jedi companion to die. He dissipated his form and vanished into a cloud of opaque smoke, soaring over the populated area of the city and landing on the outskirts. As Vereshin reappeared in his physical form, chunks of metal fell around him and Jedi battled Sith across the plain.

Imperial shuttles began to leave and he chose his escape. A slab of steel fell from the sky as he made his path. He shot out a hand with vigor and gripped it in his telekinetic hold before sending it spinning in the direction of an Alliance shuttle. The huge object smashed the vessel, which exploded into flames on impact. Vereshin's dark coat billowed behind him while he moved closer to the leaving Sith fleet. An alliance fighter witnessed his action and fired towards him. The sorcerer sent forth his hand a second time and gripped the fighter in a blast of electricity. The lightning soared across the field in a wave of violet and decimated the star fighter.

With the escape shuttle only inches away, Vereshin communicated his presence to the Sith on board. One them reached down from the ascending ramp and gripped his wrist. He was hauled on board with very little effort as the shuttle departed from the world. The ramp closed and Vereshin ran securely inside. He sighed and flopped down on a waiting bench, watching his hand shake while the shuttle surged into hyperspace and left the system.
