Bacta Lab #9
[member="Kaida Taldir"]
She had not noticed it at first, but the beeping in her ears slowly subsided and the roar of fire and hum of a lightsabre came back to her sense of earing. Her head ached, but she put it aside - Funnelling her pain into power - and focused her attention on the source of the hum and bright plasmic light. Her eyes darted around the room, taking in the reshaped surroundings.
Corpses lay strewn, torn apart by force or shrapnel, or simply crushed under debris. Bacta flowed freely from the broken glass tanks, draining down into duracrete cracks and pooling in dips on the floor; touching the cold fingers of ice and reflecting the dancing fire.
Darth Ophidia quietly brought her sabre hand to the rim of her armour and made a beckoning gesture with her index and middle finger. In response, a black serpent slithered out from under it and curled itself around her arm. She set it down on the floor and made a quick gesture with her hand, giving the tsaisibola its orders. The black snake's scales quickly changed colours to match the surroundings as it turned its head and slithered off to the side, beginning its climb of one of the building's remaining structural pillars.
While the serpent climbed, Ophidia rose to her full height. Her presence quickly baked into the surrounding, dissipating, but not entirely vanishing. It was a watered down version of her true stealth, but it sufficed to diffuse her approach as she slipped around the side of the ice-cone and darted at the ice-elf. The scarlet blade of her sabre ignited as she came into measure of clashing blades, going straight into a thrust for the armpit. She was aiming to slip in between any eventual armour plating and pierce the lung, or at least deliberate the arm. That is, if she struck true.
As she made her thrust, a Sith Imperial star destroyer crashed into the city in the distance. She could see it before she heard it or felt the tremor. The enormous vessel flattened all that it touched, and threw a vast blanket of dust and debris into the air. The rumble soon followed. She could feel it taking the structure around them, dislodging duracrete and steel. It sounded like a night-long thunderstorm condensed into a minute, and she could feel the lives snuffed out underneath the massive ships.
A loss to the Empire, but a dagger to the heart of Thyferra. As usual, the Jedi were careless with the damage they caused. At least when she caused a mass murder, she owned up to it.
