The Burning of Thyferra | TSE Invasion of GA Held Thyferra Hex

Damians head was pounding and he could feel something wet by his ear. He was sure if he put a hand up to them and looked it would be blood. The entire world rang with a buzzing noise of a thousand bees. "Mawp" he mouthed as he heard what he thought was the whiuphid talking about mashed foods? He saw a lightsaber shoot through the wall he was hiding behind. Damn.
Uneasily he got to his feet and propelled himself away from the wall. This entire section of the building would be a ruin in no time. Standing he darted across and rolled landing roughly on his feet staggering a bit away from the whiphid. Feebly he raised the umbrella and fired a few more shots at the sith with he near effortlessly could deflect with his over compensation saber.

He had to think quickly, although truth was he felt naked. Normally if he knew he would be going into a combat situation he'd have more explosives, however today he only had his pen and a bit of detcord in hidden pocket lining his jacket. He depressed the trigger on the skeletal umbrella sending the last few shots out before it clicked revealing it was empty. Then with a sober look he threw the frame like a lawn dart at the whiphid hoping to buy him enough time to run.

There was a building nearby with a large door and in his best stumbling run he managed to get into it. It had been emptied sometime earlier by him and as he entered he scattered into one of the nearby office rooms trying to get lost in the maze of cubicals and bland offices lacing the frame with the detcord before retreating to a computer terminal and grabbing the familiar saber blade.

"You know I always thought Sith were tougher than this," he called to reveal his position within the office warrens. "Do you know I blew up your Emperor? He made a satisfying thump." He felt the detonator in his hand as he stared at the door.

He blinked at what she said and frowned.

"Well that ruined the mystique," he said before he sighed.

Clearly she wasn't that gifted of a linguist, but he didn't suppose that everyone was. Frankly, it was probably stupid to think everyone could be as slick when speaking as they were when they danced. Of course then she used the look out behind you defense and he couldn't help but lift a hand to smack himself in the face. Did people really think that worked? Ok, to be fair it might on those who weren't attuned to the Force. He was able to quickly feel his surroundings for danger and not find any.

Shaking his head, he did a single stretch of each leg before pushing the Force into them and taking off at an enhanced run in the direction she'd run off to. Sure it seemed she was after peanuts, but his senses were rarely wrong, and even capturing her could prove useful. If nothing else, perhaps she could entertain him with a good dance. If not he really was going to have to go back to Eshan and find someone to train with.

He reached out and gripped the side of a building as he jumped towards it, then propelled himself off at an angle that would bring him alongside her.

"Late for a date?"

Exclamation, that’s what he needed to hear. Death was not to be guaranteed by exposure to the radiaton once dormant within those canisters; if anything, they acted as condiments of influence towards the enemy actions. An act of control to provide Vahliath with an awnser. And now he had one— two. Potentially three. From afar, hazel hues acknowledged that all-familiar fume of a purple shade elevating above the trees. Its optical acknowledgement didn’t come without a response. Vahliath moved between the trees, closer to where the poison was expelled on landing. He skidded to a halt a good fourteen metres from the exposure site, throwing the stock of his weapon over his shoulder to aim down the weapon’s sight. The rustling brought on by the enemy movements didn’t go unnoticed by the Sith; careful was he in listening to such noises, open to believing they could have been nothing more than the indigenous wildlife on Thyferra. To his own discovery, he was glad that was not the case. Alliance associates were in fact out there in the jungle, appearing to move with swift precision. One thing Vahliath always made sure was to keep his back secured, hence why that last canister on his belt was emanating its repeated blink, signifying it would detonate under the first signs of pressure against the canister. Sure, it might have exposed him to its toxins, but that wouldn’t get no further than his olfactory senses. A scientist like him wasn’t about to be killed by his own design. There was a cure for everything. Even death.

Vahliath aimed down the sight of his weapon hard and steady. His respiration was calmed by his focus of the Force, allowing his aim to be that bit more precise. And then he saw it: the first manoeuvres of the enemy. A sudden weight washed through him - mentally. The Force - again it tried to tell him something. They didn’t look like Force users; military, perhaps, as Vahliath confirmed via his continuation of observation. He took one, deep and steady breath, right down to the bottom of his lungs. Focus was important, especially if he was in this alone, against three potential threats. Underestimating an enemy was usually what brought about the death of someone rich in confidence. Vahliath wasn’t so stupid to be as big heeded; expect anything and expect everything - all at once. That’s how he worked. That way, there were no surprises.

With that inhalation followed an action: gunfire. Vahliath shot towards a male, the same one he believed to have yelled in regards to the radioactive canisters. He must have shot at him a good six times: three towards the abdomen, two at the legs - and one towards his left hand. Hitting him, however, might have been a different matter.

"Yes," Nyra said as she continued her run. "A hot date with not being burned alive in this city!" She extended her whip as she got to an overpass and flicked her wrist sending her swooping into the air. After a small aerial flip she landed on the side of a building and then jumped off soaring with preternatural grace and speed through a window. After getting into the building she ran across abandoned apartments and burst open a door before jumping through another window and landing with a grace. A smile crept over her face as she began to transform. Her form shifted into that of a doc working on Tion who went by horse face. He was a large man with leathery skin and a receding hairline....

Nyra coughed. Damnit! she was wearing clothes. She shouldn't have worn clothes. The fat form she was attempting squeezed against her skimpy little black outfit as she struggled to get out, her cleavage now practically bursting forth but in the form of a hairy chest. The Jedi had to be right behind her right?

"She went that way," she said unconvincingly her body transforming back to her true and more feminine form.

Was he serious? He was serious. Maybe? Sort of? In truth Kith had a difficult time picking out even obvious jokes, frequently giving Luca puzzled looks in those situations.

Of all the things that could have been flash coded into the clone's brain, humor had not been one of them, and it was slow going to pick through and sort properly into when someone was serious and when they were joking. His face said he was serious, but surely he couldn't be-

And then Luca opened fire and the point became moot anyway.

It was..... odd. Kith could feel him clearly through the Force. It wasn't an overwhelming sensation, not someone like Carnifex or even Saarai when he deigned to allow it to bleed through. This wasn't a Master, seeping out into the world around him simply by sheer power. This was something different, subtle.... intrinsic. But she didn't have a word for it or an understanding of it.

And that bothered her.

Luca's voice came over the comm, and she subvocalized in return, her actual voice coming over his ear piece instead of the unpleasant buzzing of the mask's distortion.

::Yes. But there's something.....::

She trailed off.

They would retreat, back out of the main streets. But it would be clear to Luca in a heartbeat that Kith wasn't really trying to seperate them from this interloper.

She was moving just slow enough in the hopes that he would follow.

Vexen stood as if he were invincible like nothing could touch him, unflinching and unwavering. Despite the earlier issue of a lone fighter having done an attack run on their position, there were no significant casualties as far as the artillery units were concerned. The infantry he could care less for dying, so long as the Harbingers remained operational until they had done their fair share of work. While the infantry was scattered and regrouping to muster up anti-air defenses. Vexen would turn his head towards the smaller female lieutenant beside him, a silent glare as she nodded and turned to key her comms, " Get those Monolith manned. Get those AA guns at the ready. Alta, get your men on those rockets and keep the skies clear. "

Vexen would turn away from his second in command as his cape billowed behind him. Soon the ashes of Thyferra's crown city would fill the air as the hum of a dozen heavy rail cannons were ready to fire. He would raise his armored hand up in the air as he held it before uttering a single word, " Fire. " A quick downward swipe of his hand would signal all Harbingers to fire. There would be a defeaning staccato of railcannon fire. Each Harbinger would fire an ablative round at near supersonic speeds that raced across the many kilometers that they were from the capital city.

A dozen rounds fired at supersonic speeds would scream across the sky as they penetrated and tore through tall buildings and skyscrapers with explosive force. Several buildings were structurally compromised, causing the stress and weight of the upper half slowly pushing down as gravity was doing its work. The sound of metal screeching and groaning could be heard as a skyscraper began to collapse in on itself, crashing down as hundreds of civilians taking shelter in them or around the building found themselves suddenly stuck in a deathtrap that would crush them all.

Vexen would nod, rather content with the results of their newly manufactured Harbinger walkers. There would be a series of loud clangs coming from the Harbinger walkers as they began to load in fresh rounds for the next salvo. Vexen crossed his arms over his chest as he waited patiently for the next set of rounds to be ready to fire. The walkers would need a few moments to recharge before charging their next shots. This would be fine. Vexen was patient, and he was confident in their air support to keep any fighter squadrons that might pose a threat to their heavily entrenched position away.

Yep, he figured that whip was going to be used for something given her nimbleness. He skidded to a halt and kept up to the window, following her signature as she raced along through that building, across a few rooftops, and through another window. She was quite skilled, and he was thankful he kept to his workout regimen or he probably wouldn't have been able to keep up with her. And he'd get made fun of for being slow on Eshan which, well, when your daughter is the queen it doesn't look good.

When he landed in the room he found a seemingly overweight individual bursting through the seams of the outfit that the woman had been wearing. He caught himself before running her.. it?... her was easier, over.

"Well... that's less than attractive," he said, grinning and completely unfazed by her attempt to throw him off.

When she changed back he chuckled.

"That's better. Besides, it's not as if I want to hurt you so what use is hiding? If we weren't on opposite ends of the spectrum, and you were more flexible, and I don't mean physically, you'd probably be fun to hang out with."

He was still grinning, and it was obvious he was struggling not to burst out laughing at the absurdity of what he'd just seen. Well, that and the fact that her clothing was more or less ruined now, though at least still somewhat functional.

"You might want to see about some replacement clothing. Or, you know, sprout fur? Cathar would be a nice look on you."

Ok, now he was just teasing her. But, well, why not? Better than fighting.

"Admiral, we are under attack! Requesting reinforcements and medvac: the Sith Empire is attacking Thyferra! They began burning everything on sight upon arrival" the local command on Thyferra relayed to her. "Make haste, if you want to save what people we can from the Sith: preliminary reports indicate that the most urgent medvac is to be carried out in Xozhixi and, more importantly, Xucphra"

"Ouch. Our bacta planet: there is going to be a bacta shortage. Prepare medical ships for evacuation: this is going to be hot medvac. With escorts, of course"

There was no rest for her, especially not after the events in Sector L-49: the Alliance was having its back against the wall on three theaters. Thyferra was in big trouble, and Cathul was troubled as to just how they could even think of attacking Thyferra on such a scale. Medvac of that magnitude required both the Pharmacokinetics and the Tylenol, and, of course, knowing the Sith, she knew that, no matter who they could manage to deploy, they would not find it so easy to fight her. Ground troops were assigned as security detail for medvac purposes, to ensure the safety of whoever comes to rely on their medvac. But their purpose was not to fight the Sith armies on their own, even though they also had heavy infantry in tow, complete with slug-equipped machineguns, missile launchers and mortars, together capable of mounting a roadblock to hold off Sith Empire forces while surviving civilians are getting to board whatever medvac craft could be mustered. But this medvac mission was one of the most delicate she had to undertake in her career as an admiral; stationed on Malastare since the events of L-49, she had to do something to come to the help of the Alliance in these dark times.

"Prepare to jump to hyperspace, set course for Thyferra"

"Exactly what are the objectives?" Tanith asked.

"Pharmacokinetics, you will be in position over Xozhixi, while the Tylenol will be above Xucphra. Any hostiles we encounter are to be engaged with lethal force: as a secondary objective, we have to secure as much bacta as we can"

Now, with the blue streaks of hyperspace flight, Cathul pondered exactly what would be the implications of an attack on Thyferra. The other sources of bacta in the galaxy were the following: Manaan in FWC space, but the remaining ones were in enemy space: Verkuyl in First Order space, and Ithor in Sith Empire space. So the bacta supply of the Alliance Bloc was much more vulnerable, and for this reason, she feels compelled to contact the GA government on Sullust due to the state of crisis. Yes, she was one to lament that Jedi seemingly considered natural resources as fluff, even one as vital to the war effort as bacta, or otherwise were pretty individualistic in their approach to warfare, but to the extent that she cared about the Alliance's medical infrastructure, she knew that she had to do something about it. While still in transit to Thyferra, she had to contact the Alliance healthcare administration as fast as was possible to avert a possible public health disaster. And she also had to think of a solution, since she would think that she would be more credible to their eyes if she had a realistic, implementable solution alongside the problem.

"Open a channel to the Alliance healthcare administration on Sullust: we have a public health emergency"

"Channel open"

"Mayday, mayday, mayday, this is Therapist Actual. Thyferra is under attack: our supply of bacta and, with it, the entire Alliance Bloc supply of bacta is in danger of falling under the enemy hands"

"Do you have a solution?" the healthcare high-level official asked.

"My solution to the bacta problem is two-pronged: I am en route now to secure as many of the ingredients as we can, vegetal or otherwise, and then have them transferred over on other planets, such as Haruun Kal and Dulvoyinn. Also, purchasing some bacta factory ships from the Silver Jedi on rush order"

Bo cracked a big green eye and looked at tje trooper before he slowly pushed up to his feet and stretched his back. They must have made it to the planet by now.

"Guraaarh werr rrgurr raaarrrr." He said as he grabbed his greatsaber, his hat, and a backpack of fresh vegetables.

He slowly lumbered off the ship and grabbed his Zeffo lighter to light his Onderon Cocktails. He looked around for Scipio and saw the man giving orders to his troops. Bo had decided to attach himself to the airborne as the resident saber jockey and primary distraction.

He stopped half way to Scipio and looked at the lush jungles...so much food. It was a planet of food and they wanted him to burn it? He put his hands behind his back and slowly sidestepped to a landscaped tree. He quickly snatched some leaves and stuffed them in his mouth. He gave a quick look around and saw no one looking and began to dig into the leafy goodness.

"Oooor Guurrrrroooddd." He said as he chomped. The planet was so tasty. They had to keep it.

It was no burning crusade, not a concerted effort to wage war - this was unbridled hate and chaos unhinged. The stench of ozone and death flitted across the battlefield that was Xucphra like a fell wind, smoke and fog wafting through the streets. Adorned in golden form, Sokar Azad, Stellar Centurion of The Golden Company stood, a wake of death and destruction behind. They had exited the berth where the Phatheon-class Assault Transports had spat them out, an overwhelming enfilade of fire belching forth as if from hell itself. Sokar had been with the second cohort behind their Tribune, his own gauss carbine sending ferromagnetic quarrels speeding towards any and all targets of opportunity. He and his cohort had stepped out, their pace somewhat slower than their brothers. With little ceremony they followed behind, finishing those who sought to flee despite grievous injury and double checking every nook and cranny for those who may have chosen the path of the coward and hid. Behind the gilded faceplate of his helmet, Sokar sneered with distaste. This wasn't a fight, this - this was a slaughter. Nothing more. It occurred to him in that moment that he had little reason to complain. The pay was good, and this was probably one of the easiest contracts he'd had. No stipulations about who was a valid target or funny rules about who could or couldn't get hurt in the process. It was a bloodbath.

Even as the Tribune ahead lead them into battle, Sokar's primary weapon remained slung as they stepped out into the concourse, instead preferring to wield his sidearm, one hand resting at his waist where the shock whip remained, coiled. Periodically he would bring the weapon to bear on a propped up figure or one attempting to crawl away as their broken bodies left a trail of crimson behind. A loud crack as the weapon discharged and the body slumped back to the ground lifeless. Sokar didn't hear the sound of the weapon going off, nor the sound of the dead and dying - all he heard was the clinking of coin.

Ahead, their Tribune stepped off once more down the concourse of the city's space port. Following suit, Sokar placed his sidearm in his holster before unslinging his primary weapon. Their work had just begun.

He was keeping his team moving forward, he knew the Sith were around, he could feel it. And for Coren, that was the worst feeling in the world. What he needed to do now was work on getting to them, and removing them from his planet. Well, maybe not his, but the Alliance’s. And that meant something, at least it was meaning something now, for Commander Starchaser. “Don’t know where they…”

He heard the call from Corek come through. Grenades. Right. He reacted, reaching to the Force and push he and his team down. It was quicker than speaking, just acting. He looked up from the dirt, his Starhawk armor engaged but not readily setup for filtering toxins. He’d have to take his group around. “Roger that, Corek. See you on the other side.” He looked to his soldiers.

“On your feet, we’ve gotta move, keep your eyes peeled.” The order was simple, and obvious. This particular group of Pathfinders, however, were going to be ready. And keep each other alive long enough for Coren to do some damage. But what he wasn’t sure of was who else was watching. That purple was going to send a signal, and he knew the Sith had other tricks of their sleeve.

The Force was with him today, he knew that, but Coren was also going to need to keep the Sith at range for him to get any traction. Sure, he could protect himself and his unit, but it was better to give his team range. He readied his weapon again, and when the shots came out? He called the Force to himself, creating a barricade as he dove behind a downed tree still.

“Frak me.”

When she heard the order to burn it all and leave nothing standing living or not it made her the happiest sith ever as she stepped over near the hatch of one of the drop ships, Before the light could even give a go ahead she opened the hatch and leaped out and soared down to the jungle fauna below not far from the city it self, she wanted to make a entrance so while she was still falling down she started using a blast of force lightning to set fire to the trees before her and as she entered the jungle it self she continued set fire to anything around her until when she finally landed gently to the ground the area around her was a fire pit that started burning everything in sight.

She couldn't help but let out a twisted smile behind her helmet as she activated her blades and using there heat as she walked towards the city walls to set ablaze the forestry, Oh how she loved the intense heat and the sound of burning flame that surrounded her to some home would be this beautiful place of green trees a warm wind and oceans as far as they can see a calm and peaceful thing, But for her it was the opposite it, To her paradise was the sound of her enemies screaming in pain and agony before she crushes them under her heel, To her Paradise was a world of flame and chaos that was her paradise, That was what she envisioned the galaxy and hopefully her wish will become a reality but for now she will just settle with destroying everything in her path on this pitiful world while her brother and sisters do what ever else they wish. She didn't care in fact she hoped to see a Jedi try and challenge her it would be a welcoming gift for her as she continued to march into the city and begin her rampage in murdering anyone that was TSE.

The Imperial Grand Inquisitor had been long awaiting the opportunity to score a critical blow against the Galactic Alliance, and had been secluded for the most part preparing for this very occasion. A full Imperial invasion fleet had arrived to support the Sith Empire in their attack on Thyferra. Several Imperial IV-class Star Destroyers arrived shortly after the initial attack wave of the invasion, hovering just above the burning city and raining turbolaser fire down upon the enemy positions scattered below them. A legion of Imperial Stormtroopers specialising in terror operations such as this, had been deployed to assist in the massacre. Imperial Incinerator Troopers had been deployed liberally throughout a district already breached by Sith and Galactic Imperial forces, setting aflame many structures and the inhabitants within.

Imperial landing craft carrying yet another legion of Imperial troops made their landing just behind Kor Vexen's artillery line, swiftly unloading the troops and walkers they'd brought, who swiftly moved to reinforce the Sith emplacements and aid in establishing anti-air defences. AT-AT Walkers quickly took positions between the Harbingers, aiding in the ranged bombardment of the city while the rest of the Legion were being unloaded. A lone Lambda-class shuttle arrived shortly after the landing craft, touching down a short distance away from Kor Vexen's command post. As it's boarding ramp lowered, Baron Morcus departed the shuttle, tailed by a pair of his Inquisitors and half a dozen Imperial Death Troopers. Arriving at the command post, he politely bowed his head to Kor. "My greetings to you, Sith. I am Grand Inquisitor Morcus, and I come bearing greetings and much needed reinforcements from the Galactic Empire for your attack on Xucphra City.", Morcus said in his usual regal manner.

Kaila Saedrin didn't believe in much, but what she believed in she held to steadfast. Few things could be counted on forever, and if her morals ever couldn't make that list she knew she was in trouble. Those beliefs were nothing complex, of course. This was right, this was wrong, this was good, this was bad, and Kaila didn't always do good but wherever there were bad things she'd stop them from happening.

And the Sith presence on Thyferra?

Definitely bad.

It wasn't that she was convinced the Sith were the villains. They did bad things for what they thought were good reasons, just like her (the difference being, of course, that she was right). It was the action rather than the ones behind it that spurred her to arms - but the reason didn't matter. She'd learned that reasons were rarely what made the difference.

What mattered was that buildings were burning and people were dying.
And things like these were what she had to stop.

"I'll be more use to you on a computer than in the field."
"They're burning things, Saedrin. What're you gonna do, hack the lighters?"
"I can send a-"
"If I didn't know better I'd say you were scared."
"Kark you, I'm going."

The city was already in chaos by the time Kaila arrived - and she didn't have to go far before it became impossible to look away. Like any agent, she'd seen some gore, learned how to push all the ugly feelings away to unpack when it was all over.

But this?

She hadn't learned anything that could've prepared her for this.

Ugly feelings overflowed, impossible to fully put aside for any length of time before they bubbled back up - the Coruscanti could feel the heaviness on her shoulders and somewhere she knew that the next person she spoke to would have a piece of work on their hands. She wanted to be somewhere else. To be holed up watching this through a camera that could be minimised at any moment, somewhere where it wasn't so real and she could imagine it didn't matter so much.

But for all the discomfort it forced on her, the sight only told her with resounding clarity that this was wrong.

That she was doing the right thing.

With a sigh, Kaila Saedrin brushed her hair aside and kept moving through the streets. It was going to be a long day.

Before:

The Falcon was as usual being a pain in the ass. Kira had along with Charlwook arrived on Thyferra three days ago to pick up some supplies and refuel before every intention had been to leave. Yet now she was instead a mess of engine grease and oil stains, a usual compliment to her overly casual attire and while they had been getting somewhere, Kira had decided that perhaps a quick stretch of the legs away from the hanger would be best for her.
This had led her to the long causeway bypassing the Starport proper. Glistening and clean it had over the time of the Alliance become a thriving market stretch with stalls of local and imported goods sold at competitive prices to lure the thin wallets of travelling traders away from the more established franchises within the Starport complex and the city beyond. In the three days Kira had been here she had already befriended several of the store owners, a young girl who ran a material shop that sold scarves and hats made from scrap patches of clothing thrown away by the wealthier Alliance citizenry. She reminded Kira very much of herself in her youth so had taken a warming to her right away, always giving her several credits for no return purchase. There was also Gabriel, a mechanic who owned a little dive on the corner of the main entrance into the transit hub. He sold droids, or at least what used to be droids. However it was not his items that had impressed Kira it was his ability as a tinkerer, never before had she met someone so naturally aligned to the craft he had taken up. Capable of making near anything with the pieces he had she had asked him to make a small piece of artwork from old scrap parts she could take with her. He promised it would be done by tomorrow. Lastly there was the fruit vender.

“Odd sort eh?” Kira had walked up after a man wearing all the armour in the world had just left the store. She gave him a cautious stare in regards to the appearance he gave but thought nothing more of it as he merely walked away eating his fruit and surveying the stalls. The Spaceport brought in many mercenaries and off-worlders who would only stay long enough to get a bite to eat and then head back on their journey, so what was odd about such a man?
“He can be as odd as he wants, he just gave me three times the value of that fruit. Personally I can’t wait to look him in the eyes again and thank him.” The store owner said with an enthusiastic smile. “Jaina will be so happy, she has a school trip tomorrow to the Bacta labs in the upper city, she’ll be able to take that with her as a treat.” He put the credits in his pocket and smiled at Kira. “..and how are you today? That ship still giving you trouble?”
“Nearly fixed.” Kira replied with a lack of enthusiasm. “It’s running but for how long at this stage is anyones guess. You got any of those Nubian Dragon Pears? They were beautiful yesterday.”
The Vender reached beneath his store. “I just got some in fresh this morning, and for you half the price. Twelve Credits.” He bagged them and handed them over to her. “If your still around tomorrow I’ll have some Lothal Fava, it’s coming in on a fast trader from Sullust.”
“Sounds good, keep some aside for me.”
“I will. Don’t you worry I’ll make sure it gets here as if my life depends on it.”

NOW

“What do you mean the ventilator is gone?!” Kira screamed into the maintenance hole on the left side of the Falcon. The characterful grunts of a distressed Wookiee sounding out to greet her question with angst and just a little bit of fustration. “Well we are trying to get out of here and you only tell me now? What in the hells are you expecting me to do about it now?”
Outside of their sealed hanger another explosion sounded, causing the face of Kira, now slick with sweat to look back towards the blast door that she had locked with an uneasy worry. Somehow it had all turned to Frakk. All of it. As if a gross turn of irony the Sith Empire had launched a fast speed attack against the entire planet and from the sound of the transmitters nothing was going well for the Alliance. Pockets of resistance here and there were being reported but for the most part it was all retaliation actions taken against a well planned assault from troopers thirsty for blood.

Another series of grunts pulled her attention back to the Falcon and the wookiee’s face that had started to rise from the maintenance hatch. “Look if you think it will hold I’m happy trusting you.” Again she looked backwards towards the door, her mind was playing on her as the blaster fire got closer and closer. The image of a Dragon Pear had flashed through her head faster then she hoped the Falcon would go, yet she knew not why. Something drastic was happening outside and every instinct was telling her to run and get away as fast as possible, yet at the same time there was the ever present feeling of duty that she felt towards the Alliance, an alliance that had for so long been a steady platform of reason in Kira’s life, an alliance that if reports were to be believed were now accepting the aid of those they had actively spoken against to fight the very same.

She reached for her saber, before releasing her hand short. “Just get the ship running.” She said at the Wookiee. “That’s all I’ll ask of you.”

The weeks leading up to the Sith's assault had been uneasy ones. A good deal of them had been spent in training, running drills to the ground, sparring whoever was willing. Anything to deal with the nerves, to at least give some sort of illusion of security while the days went on. There was no telling what to expect, her encounters with Sith being few and far between. It was to be expected, the knight having lived a life of relative isolation thus far. Training could only do so much, though. As restless as she might've been, even Sundara acknowledged that endless training wouldn't make much difference in the long run.

So she'd elected to take a break, explore the area before everything went to complete ruin. Abandoned as it was, the Zambrano estate was a sight to behold in its own right. Meandering through the estate, taking in the architecture and overall decor. She spent a good couple hours just wandering about, with no clear objective other than to kill time. When she did get away from observing the structures of the estate, it seemed the battles had already begun. Some of which were drawing quite close to her current location. Too close to not expect confrontation.

It had begun.

The snap=hiss of sabers igniting and the staccato of blaster fire became more prevalent as Sith and Jedi forces began to engage. Parts of Xucphra were already going up in flames, but Alm was not too jazzed about the idea of going after civilians. Though they were citizens ruled by the Jedi, she could not bring herself to willingly harm innocents.

Jedi, though? Jedi and their forces were fair game. This is what Alm believed for lack of a better option. They were here for war, to burn everything to the ground including civilians because it would hurt the Jedi. She figured that as long as she fought someone with a saber or a blast, she would not get in trouble for insubordination.

That was when she spied two figure a little ways away heading in her direction. Bringing a hand to shield her eyes from the intense glare of the sun—or flames, whatever—she squinted in order to get a better look at them. One appeared human from what she could tell given that he was wearing armor. The other, some odd red-skinned humanoid with strange protrusions angling downward from his head. Curious. Was he the same species as those half-naked dancing girls she saw that one time she wandered into the back room of a bar?

EXCUSE ME! She called out to them, not exactly in a polite tone given that she had to be heard over the din of battle.

ARE YOU JEDI SCUM?

He didn't like the idea of killing. It tasted sour even in thought. Up until this point in his career in the Galactic Alliance, he had really only managed to kill one person. And that person revived soon after so the point was moot from a superficial standpoint. But it didn't change the sacrifice of conviction, that when pushed to shove he was willing to kill to protect others.

It was a principle that laid the foundation for the Galactic Alliance - and he was a Marshal that was forever hesitant about the concept.

::I'm not too far from you now. I can hold my position and call out from the distance, provide cover fire where needed. I'm a bit exposed out here but things could be worse.::

He paused.

::Or I could come down to the clinic...though:: Another pause. ::That might be kind of difficult.::

He clicked on the focus of the rifle lens. Moving to the thoroughfare near the clinic entrance, Gabriel noted a force of what appeared to be Sith. Or at the very least, underlings. Or something. He was certain it wasn't the Galactic Alliance or allies and at this point, that was the only threshold that needed passing. Squeezing the trigger, he put a slug in the front line soldier, knocking him to the ground. That separated the members but they were far removed from the notions of retreat.

He pulled the bolt back and loaded another round.

::Stay in the building, Taheera. I'll draw fire until the medivac arrives.::

Arador Kahn

A lone figure had been watching a female run off with something she had likely 'borrowed' from whatever facility she was running from. There were fires blazing, buildings crumbling and civilians screaming all around, yet none of this seemed to bother the bounty hunter who had been hired by the Sith to assist in their ransacking and wanton destruction of the city. He had arrived as a means of infiltrating the city prior to the arrival of the Sith Armada and its armies, seeing what might be an extra bonus he could have added to his already hefty pay from the Sith Empire's treasury, and low and behold, this thief had taken off with one of the most profitable pieces he had been able to do a little researching on.

It seemed that he wasn't the only one pursuing said thief, however, as a Jedi made his presence and pursuit of her known. The bounty hunter would think over the situation at hand as he decided to have the Jedi wear down the thief, and convince her he was reinforcements. When the Sith was likely to lower her guard would be when he would make his move. Despite Arador's otherwise murderous aura that also oozed deceit and cruelty, it may be difficult for the Jedi to detect his presence in the city already full of Sith and those crying out in anguish. He would remain on the higher ground as he moved from one building to the next via his rocket boots to clear the gaps.

Arador would follow the two as they finally seemed to have confronted each other. His right hand would reach down to his belt as he unholstered his sonic pistol, holding down the trigger as they were conversing and allowing for it to charge up before releasing it. A sonic bolt would fly silently through the air before it made contact with the ground in between the two. A loud wail would be heard though it would likely not serve much a purpose apart from a loud distraction. Arador would speak as his vocoded voice was heard, " Having a little giggle while the city burns? And people tell me Jedi don't have a sense of humor in the middle of a slaughter. "

A tingling sensation erupted from deep within Drios' cranium, and the Sith Lord's head whipped around quickly, his scorched optics rapidly locating the source of his unease; Cairyn Midore. Without haste, he would alter his course, cutting down foes as they sprawled before him before ordering his acolytes to veer away and draw the battle away from the pair of Sith.

"A surprise, to be sure." Darth Aurum snarled through gritted teeth, his hostile eyes glaring with malice and fury. The traitorous scumbag had sided with the Dominion, collaborated with the Jedi and had only just escaped death when a Jedi saviour had disposed of the then inexperienced acolyte. But no more. Scarlet hues illuminated the floor and to an extent the Sith Lord's face as his blade whirled around him, before falling into a typical Makashi stance, lightsaber angled to the ground and his feet planted lightly on the concrete. "Let us not waste our time with words, and continue where we left off. But beware; there aren't any Jedi to save you now."

With that the Sith extended his hands and summoned a powerful telekinetic shockwave out toward Cairyn, scattering enemies and allies alike light bowling balls but frankly he did not care. Soldiers were replaceable.
