"I suppose that's a good reason as any to become King. Saves yourself and others from dying from your food." She could tell that his mind was drifting on other things. He had that faraway look in his eyes. But no matter. The tone of his voice was lulling her to sleep. She yawned once again, hiding it with the back of her hand. "Shall we call it a night? We can start to work in the morning, maybe just before breakfast?" Then if the weather was good, they could go outside and she could show him the direction that the footprints went off to. But then again, they could be blown away from the wind. She'll figure it out tomorrow on how best to go about telling him.

Solan nodded to her and looked upt and over to the far right as he thought about something still. It wasn't something in the force nagging him, it was something he ould see. But he didn't know what it was about what it was about what he could see that nagged at him. IT was confusing, that much was certain because he saw nothing wrong and just rubbed his eyes. Maybe he was still getting used to seeing again, that would explain why things felt off to him after the last few days.

She watched him for a moment as he was lost in thought. Hopefully he would take the bed again. She was already comfy. But maybe as she slept, he'd take the time to do a bit of exploring of the ship on his own. Regardless it was hard for her to keep her eyes open any longer. She used a lot of energy in helping to heal his eyes and now her body craved sleep in order to recuperate. Maybe if she was a Jedi Master she wouldn't be as worn out. But alas, she hadn't had that much training. So instead she softly snored as sleep overcame her.

He glanced over and saw her collapsed on the bed and fully passed out by the time he had woken up from his own little stupor. His eyes watched her for a few moments before laughing and pushing himself up slowly before walking over. He didn't touch her but instead threw over her a thermal blanket to help her stay warm as it was just that that she needed. He on the other hand would be going off to see what all he could in regards to the ship. Perhaps he would start his work but now he would find out as he headed for where he remembered the generators being. Granted he had been blind at the time but he had a decent enough memory so he had faith in himself. Sooner or later he would find it and sit down, cracking his hands and getting started.

The thermal blanket helped a lot. It was so warm and cozy that she nestled into it and slept very well.

As she awoke she opened her eyes and was a little surprised that Solan wasn't there. Hmm. Kay got to her feet, still wrapped up in the blanket and set out to look for him. The ship wasn't as cold as it be if he had opened the door and went outside, so that meant that he was still inside.

Moments later, she found him by the generator. He had obviously been working but at that second he appeared to be very still. Either he was in deep thought, or he had fallen asleep. Only one way to find out. "Morning, Solan.."

He blinked and looked over his shoulder as something was on his face that he had not worn before or even mentioned he needed. His smile touched his face though. "So, it appears im farsighted now. Guess we didn't do as good a job as we thought." He sighed as he sat back in the chair and took off the glasses. "I found these in another one of the rooms for passengers. They don't work perfectly but i figured they would do until we get off the planet. I must say im surprised that it came to this but oh well, atleast i can see normally."

"Well, at least you can see." She smiled and approached, taking the glasses from him and putting them back on. She seemed to study his face as a snobby person might study a painting or sculpture. "Hmm...I say that they make you look smart, like you're that type of person that knows what he's doing." Kay grinned and then looked to the generator. "Well...what state is it in?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

He laughed as she studdied his face like he was some painting that was prized and being evaluated for the smallest of errors. There had to be something there it seemed she needed to pick up on but instead she just grinned and said those words which caused him to push up his glasses against his face. Just to agree with her comment. But he had to make a joke somewhere so when she asked what state it was in he had to play along. "Well these lights here a blinking, and alot of these numbers mean something. On and those things connect to that thing and do something."

Kay laughed at his simplicity. "Wow...Those things really do -something-? I am amazed! And those lights blinking. Are you sure that they aren't winking and hitting on you?" She covered her mouth with her hand and snorted her laughter out of her nose. Oh his daughter must have lots of fun with him. Solan seemed like a terrific father. She was lucky to have him.

The generator must be in better shape than they had thought, otherwise he might not have been this playful. "What about communications? Are we able to send out word that you're okay?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

He laughed with her and leaned back in the chair before nodding. "IT is possible but i dont think that an AI lives in this computer so im going to say it wasn't hitting on me... that or the Captain really could not find a girlfriend. Her next question though lessened the smile. "Most of the internal wiring is ok, but the crash took out the actual dish which means i will need to repair it. And depending on the damage from reentry it is possible that i wont be able to get long range communication working."

"Even short range is better than nothing, so long as there is someone to hear." She chewed the inside of her cheek. Now was the time. "...I don't know if you've been outside yet, but I followed the tracks in the snow a bit, you know, the ones that don't match either of our shoes...And they seem to be heading east. Not just once, but a few times within the same tracks. There must be some kind of civilization out there." Kay wasn't quite sure how he'd take it. Either he'd be curious or he could be angry at her for holding that information back. But it wasn't as though he could've done anything about it beforehand.

He glanced at her for a few moments, looking over her and watching her body language as she finished the second sentence. For a few moments he said an did nothing before turning back to the console. "Once the weather clears up then we can start at repairing the dish but i wanted to make sure there would be no complications so i need to study the weather patterns today to see if i can get a guess on when would be the best time to work on it so that there would be no interruptions. Once that is done, i can get right to work on repairing it as long as i have the necessary tools and supplies.

She just stayed still as he stared at her, not looking at anything in particular. The fact that he didn't speak for a bit made her even a bit more nervous. And then he turned his back on her and went right back to business. Kay recognized the behaviour and silently berated herself for not telling him sooner.

After he finished speaking she nodded and responded quietly. "Yes, that's a great plan. I'll just go outside and look for some sheets of metal that could be used to shape into a new dish, if you need it."

Kay then quickly returned to the room and put the thermal blanket back. After bundling herself back up she hurried herself outside. It was best to be out of his way. Out of sight, out of mind. She closed the door and put up her hood as it had started snowing again. A couple of new inches of fresh powder lay on the frozen snow around the ship. Her eyes stayed down by her feet as she walked a lap, checking for new tracks. There didn't appear to be any. Good.

As she finished her lap around the ship, Kay then followed the debris field, looking for some good sheets of metal that could be cut and moulded to the size that they needed. She'd spend all morning on it if she had to, and not even bother with her morning tea or breakfast. She just had to do something right at the very least.

Solan glanced down, noticing that neither of them had eaten and he sighed as he stood and dusted himself off. Yes he was concerned about the tracks but he was not made at her for withholding the information. He would deal with what ever creature or prseon was visiting the ship on his own if he had to with means that he assumed [member="Lady Kay"] would not agree with considering the severity. Buit her response and her leaving he knew that he had reacted wrong. His hands pulled the clothing around him and he used Tapas to keep himself from freezing as he neared the door.

Waving his hand over it the door opened for him and the blast of air hit him before he blinked and looked out around. His steps coming onto the frozen ground and he spent the moment looking around before finding Kay scavenging more metal. He sighed and started walking over to her as the cold cut through his clothing, his eyes peering through the glasses still as he had neglected to take them off. "Miss Kay, you know you are going to catch a cold if you dont come in soon. And how come you are skipping a meal, i mean my cooking wasn't that bad was it?"

Perhaps she overreacted, but her husband used to be cold and short with her when he was angry and the best thing for her to do in those times was to stay out of his way until he cooled down. Darksiders. It was always more healthy to not anger them.

Kay had a few good sized pieces and she was good to be mindful of the sharp edges. She heard his footsteps in the snow as he approached with that familiar crunching sound. She stood up as he spoke and showed him what she had found. "I'm sorry, I just wasn't very hungry. So I thought that I could help out here instead. Your cooking wasn't that bad. It was wonderful actually, given what you had to work with. Maybe we can scrounge up a nice brunch?"

"But since you're out here at the moment and the weather isn't too bad, you can see the damage to the outside of the ship."

The cold didn't bother her so much anymore. Maybe she was just used to it. Or maybe she was getting a small case of hypothermia. But either way, she figured that they wouldn't be outside for much longer, so it didn't quite matter. And it was nothing that a good hot cup of tea couldn't fix. So she led the way to the front of the ship, showing him the boulder that they had struck, as well as the crumpled nose. She kicked away some of the snow at the bottom to gather a guess as to it's structural integrity. With some work it might be fixable. Maybe. But there best bet was to probably send out a message for help.

"Well? What do you think?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"What i think is that you are going to get sick out here if you remain so any longer. Come on..." He tried to get her to walk with him back towards the door of the downed ship. "As for the structural damage that i have seen thus far it is not flyable in this state and i don't know if i will be able to get the entire thing working. The main problems will be trying to leave the atmosphere with half the ship banged up as it is. The impact took out the transparisteel on one of the outer sections of the ship we wont be going anywhere until i fix that or close off the section unless you feel like not breathing anymore."

Kay nodded a little and followed him back inside, listening to the news he was giving her. It was as she feared. But at least there was still a couple of options remaining to them. "Well...at least I found some great pieces of metal to fashion a new dish with so that you can at least send a message out. Otherwise we could always search for a city or town..."

Sooner or later they will run out of food, so they needed to do something quickly. Outside of their stalker, there had been no signs of wildlife to kill for food. Perhaps they are all hibernating. It was really hard to tell at the moment.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Once i get the dish online there should be an option to use where we can use it to scan the landscape around us. Its not the most effective piece of tech in which to find other places to stay or find help. But its better than the alternative of staying here and doing nothing." He started to run a hand over the console once more before the door opened and he ran a hand through his hair as he walked into the ship's confines. "We got some other problems though and that is food, we have a weeks worth at most, something we cant exactly live off so if the dish doesn't work at first then we are going to have a massive problem."

Kay rubbed her arms as she followed him inside. Only with being in the warmth did she come to realize how cold she was. But that mattered little when they had bigger problems than her being chilled to the bone.

"Okay. No brunch for me then. I'll just wait for supper. We'll ration our food better until we can find another source. I'll even ration my tea, just in case it comes down to our only bits of nutrients."

She headed over to Solan's room to grab a blanket to help warm herself up a bit more. She had to make sure that Solan survived. He had a daughter to raise and a kingdom to take care of. Kay vowed to do whatever she could to be sure that they could be reunited, no matter what the cost. His daughter needed him, and he needed her. They shouldn't be separated for long.

Wearing the blanket like a shawl, she rejoined Solan. "Well....how can I help?"
