The Crash of a Life Time.

Kay blinked a few times and smiled at the news that he knew how to build ships. How fortunate! "Wonderful! There is some damage. The nose was crushed...somewhat. A large boulder stopped us from sliding any further. I saw some small holes in the hull and I'm not sure what the bottom looks like."

She had another sip of her tea and adjusted herself in the chair to be a bit more comfortable. "Once you're able to see again, we can get rid of things that we don't need so that this ship is lighter and uses less fuel. I'm not sure what's left or if there's a leak anywhere. It's hard to tell with the weather changing each time I'm out there." She'd only been out there a few times so far, but there'll be more trips soon enough.

She studied him for a moment, able to do so without him noticing. "If we're unable to leave, we can always work on the communications and see if we can get a message out there to your friends."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Ah... The Nose being crushed could be a problem indefinitely, i dont know if there is enough material to fix such damage. Or if i will be able to with the tools at our disposal. The holes though in the hull i could work on with a plasma torch and by using materials that would hold up... it won't be perfect but it could do something... but if the damage is as extensive as i expect from what you have told me already we should set up a transmitter first like you suggested and get the generators on the ship back into working condition. The damage you described might be too much for us to handle."

He stared down and smiled as he nodded. "Don't worry, im sure at the rate we are eating and if we do get her airborn, this ship will be as light as a feather. Id be more concerned with if there is anything out there... its been obvious to me for a few days now that the crash disturbed this place, and considering no one has come we are probably not on a well developed world. But the air is breathable which points to vegetation of some kind, or a oxygen producing Algae. My point is, life is sustainable here, and that worries me what might be out there."

She nodded to each of his points, even though he couldn't see her. "Hey now, I'm still rationing our food...But as you're healing, you need to eat more and not be as restricted. We need our energy." Kay almost wanted to tell him about the extra food right at that moment, but she refrained from doing so. Instead she moved on to his other points. "The last time I went outside, it wasn't snowing and the wind wasn't howling, so that enabled me to see. I saw mountains way off in the distance that might of had trees, though I'm not sure. And of course I saw lots of snow. I just didn't spend too long looking as I had more important things to do. But you could be right. This could be a barren planet when it comes to civilization, or....we could just be on a really cold continent. It's hard to say. I didn't exactly get a window seat on this voyage with the amount of credits that I paid for my ticket."

Finishing her tea, she put the cup away in her satchel, careful to wrap it like always. "My lightsaber still works, at least, and I have a small blaster should there be some trouble. Normally one shot is all that it takes to scare off some wildlife. Fire is also scary to some. So we should be okay." At least she hoped, anyways. But who knows exactly where they were or what was out there? Kay hoped to be off world before that happened.

"Oh and one other thing...when I was going through some of the boxes, I found some tools. Although, they could be yours or just belong to some of the crew."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"More likely the crew, i only brought my daggers and saber with me, speaking of which..." He glanced around the area and looked at where his bed should be. "Under it, there should be several items including a trenchcoat with a saber secured in the sleeve and a number of daggers lining the inside of the coat itself. Feel free to take the saber just in case that the creatures if there are any aren't afraid of a blaster. Or your's stops working of course." His focus returned to the cup infront of him which was slowly brought to his lips before he breathed in and smiled once more.

He thought to himself while he sat there drinking the cup this time, his eyes running over the surface of a liquid he could not see. "Hmm. Kay, if you don't mind my asking but how come you never did return to the Jedi after... I understand why you would leave originally but you are not dark, or cruel, or any of that. Why did you never return to the Jedi after your ties to the outside world were... severed?" He didn't want to make it seem like he was questioning her decisions or even saying she should go back. But it made him very curious why.

Kay's late husband used two sabers when he fought sometimes, though normally that was because during a duel he would end up stealing his opponent's blade. He taught her a scissor move trick that would end with both blades around the opponent's neck, a move that could sever his/her head if need be. One of her enemies, a psycho genius of an Arkanian scientist named Lord Mayhem was also prone to wielding two blades. Though she herself never took up the practice. She didn't like to fight. Someone always got hurt, and her skills were better put to use at healing the injured, rather than causing the injuries herself.

As Solan inquired about her decision to remain on her own, she brought up her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. "Umm...." It took her a moment to think about it. She hadn't really thought about it and had just kind of gotten used to living day by day, place to place, not really focused on any goal or task at hand outside of surviving. Usually when there was any sign of a large military presence, she would high tail it out of there. Most of them didn't like Force users anyways. "....Why would I go back when it was clear that I was no longer welcome? They didn't give me a chance to prove my case and instead they turned their backs on me. Even my Master. Without a word I was escorted out." Oh the memory of that day still hurt, though she made no move to wipe her tears. She didn't want to give any indication that they were falling, for she didn't want Solan to feel bad for bringing it up. "If I go back there, then they would assume that they were right all along and I couldn't handle that. Nor would I want to beg to be reinstated." Kay rested her chin on her forearms. "I guess that the easiest answer would be that I just have too much pride. And that's not very Jedi-like, is it?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

He smiled and decided that her last sentence needed the addressing of a man barely much more than a rogue with no formal training. "Pride is in no way something that you should worry about. Being proud of yourself and what you do is not bad at all as it drives you to appreciate what you guys do and it allows you to do something to the fullest effort... Listen to me, i sound like an old man." He smiled and looked down at the cup for a few long moments. "I understand though, being turned on like that sounds horrible. To be... not betrayed but disappointed. Im sorry for bringing it up Kay." He set the cup down and smiled as he thought for a moment. "Hey Kay, what do you do then if you aren't a Jedi. I suspect the answer is obvious but i am more than curious about it. Do you simply move from place to place helping people?"

He had a point when he spoke about pride. It was a good way of looking at it. One she'll have to remember if ever she comes across another Jedi and has to explain herself.

At his last couple of questions, again Kay had to pause to think about it. What exactly has she accomplished in the last five years since she started being on her own? Not a whole lot. "I uh....I've mostly kept to myself, kept a low profile. I didn't want to attract any attention, so I've limited myself on my Force use, even when healing. Just using it can attract another Force user and I didn't want to be found out. So I had to keep moving, never staying anywhere for more than a month or two. Obviously I'm not using those same precautions here because...well, it wouldn't help us in any way."

She paused again, trying to put words to what she felt. "I just can't shake this feeling....Now that I've been using the Force again, healing again, been myself again...it's like...it feels like I'm going to be in the thick of things again, as if I'm being pushed to go down a different route from the one that I've been on lately. My enemies were usually a couple of steps ahead of me and I hated that. They knew what choices I would make even if I changed my mind and tried to outsmart them. I hate not having control over my own life and I just know that that's going to happen again."

Kay closed her eyes for a moment as she regretted everything that she just blurted out. She stood up and moved to the door. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't of dumped all of that out on you. Please don't think that I regret helping you and helping us to get out of here. I should...umm....I should just get back to work." She chided herself for being such an idiot and talking the way that she did when there was no need for it. If anything, she figured it would just make Solan uncomfortable around her. Shaking her head, she left to start searching the bodies for useful items that shouldn't get buried with them.

He watched her talk for the time, word after word as her emotions as much as she wanted to shove them down still seeped through the cracks and he watched her sadly as she closed her eyes. Regret came off her like a waterfall and he sighed as he stood slowly, brushing off his clothing and watching her leave. He stood there for a moment before going to the side of his bed and slowly kneeling down to retrieve the saber that he had talked of before. It was a simple design, nothing overly special about it but he did appreciate having it with him at times.

He turned now, breathing in and walking to the door slowly as his hand moved over the control panel and opened the door as he made his way for where he expected she was. His feet sounding silently as they moved slowly over the cold surface. The air outside the room hit him like a cannon, colder that the room was by a long shot. They would need to get the generators back online first if he didn't want to freeze while repairing the transmitter. After all become a Solansickle was not on his plan of things to do while stranded on a unknown planet with someone... come to think of it there are a few things he would do though, but another time.

His hand eventually opened the door in which kay would be behind, noticing only now the generators must still be running on a low level power output, due to the lights and doors working. "Hey Kay..." Was all he said as he walked over to her and without a word hugged her. "Come now, don't be sorry or worried. I don't have my eyes so my ears are definitely in need of usage..." He smiled as he let go and stepped back as he dusted himself off again and looked around, still relying on force sight as he supported himself against a wall now and raising a brow. "Find anything useful?" He was done sitting around not helping her... plus the hug was needed after what he assumed she felt by telling him all that.

The hug was a surprise, but not unwelcomed. She returned it and smiled a little as he broke it. "Thanks. You're a good friend, Solan."

She guided him over to one of the piles that she had created. It wasn't very big, but it was certainly more pleasant than the cold bodies were. "I've found some credits, though I'm not sure that I'll keep those. There's some datapads that could be useful for parts, and that's pretty much it so far." She hoped to not find anything explosive or worse. Without Solan's eyesight, he isn't able to help investigate the crash just yet. For the thought had crossed her mind that they could've crashed on purpose.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"I see... the datapads i could probably tear apart once i had the chance to see with my own eyes once we finish the treatments. My body should also be settled by then Kay so no need to worry over me any more, even if im still a little shaky on my feet... and don't worry about the hug. No reason to leave you feeling like that without something or someone to talk to. Don't need you drawing a face on something and carting it around to talk to it. Only someone truly insane would do something like that." He smiled at her as they looked among the area. "Hey, Kay... can you bring me to the generators. I need to check their integrity now that i can walk before we come to find out that our power is running out. If we lose power it will be hard to get it back online."

She laughed a little about his joke. If she had really lost it, Kay might've ended up talking to the frozen bodies...But there was no need.

As she guided Solan to the generators, she spoke, "I'll work on your eyes again tonight after we eat. It probably won't be enough, but it'll help. Then we'll do another treatment after we sleep." The generators were there, maybe a little banged up but they were solid and where they were supposed to be.

"Here. I'll get some of the bodies out, give you a bit more room to move around." Kay quickly slipped back to the room to put on more layers, before beginning the task of dragging the searched bodies out into the grave that she had dug earlier. It was icy where her lightsaber had cut through the snow, which made it easier to push the bodies in. It was still cloudy, but not windy, yet she didn't pause to take a look around. Kay just had to keep herself busy and get her task done before finding out if the generators were in bad shape or not.

Solan smiled as [member="Lady Kay"] got straight to work and turned his head to watch her do so before turning it back to the ship's generators and walking into the room where they were contained. It was a large room, much larger than the other ones as he looked around at the generator the best he could with his force sight. It gave him physical details but would not tell him the output of the generators or the flows of the currents like a datapad and his own eyes could. How a miralukan read anything was amazing to him and his mother must have had a hell of a time when she was a Jedi.

"Hmm." His hand reached out, touching along a monitor and thinking as his hands moved on their own, blindly manipulating the screen best he could before simply sitting in a chair nearby. This was taunting him and he was getting annoyed by it. He would not tell Kay, his annoyance was his to dwell on and while he listened to her he would not bug her with his own thoughts. He was thinking about ways to reroute the power though.

In a way she didn't want to know how they were. No news was good news. Kay just kept at her work. It was tiring as frozen bodies were heavier and harder to move, but at least the ice outside helped. Plus it kept her warmer. She wasn't afraid of hard work and welcomed it right now because it kept her from thinking about what they would do if they couldn't fly the ship. Leave it and search for civilization elsewhere on the planet? That could be a long walk.

Kay shook her head as she was thinking again. Focus. Focus. Focus. One of the bodies was frozen in a seated position, so it took a bit of maneuvering to get it out the door. That was the last body to deal with at the moment. Once it was in the grave she started to bury them as she didn't want to attract wildlife. Although frozen bodies don't smell as much, thank goodness.

After that was all finished she went back inside and looked for her fellow survivor, spotting him sitting in a chair, wrapped in his own thoughts. "What's the verdict, Solan? Everything alright?"

He was still absorbed in thought when she came in behind him and spoke, jumping alittle as he turned his head and stared in her direction with a smile. "I hope you didn't expect to fly any time soon. While the Generator is intact and could power most of the systems, sustained flight is probably not something we will be experiencing for a decent while until i can get into the systems and reroute the power around. How about you, getting the people their proper burial?"

His head turned back to the generator as he started to stand up. "Hey, Kay. How much experience on ships and around them do you have?" His hand started to tap on the console as he stood beside it. "I can't read it too well of course."

Well, at least the generators were still working well enough. That was good news. She approached him and took a peek at the console. "Well....I've had to co-pilot in a pinch before, but I've never had to fix one. I'm a good student though." And she was. She could do what she was told when the circumstances required it and as long as Solan was patient, she could be a great helper. "Should we try another treatment first? Or would you rather just work on this for the moment?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"I think another treatment would be much better. But there is also the fact that after today im tired and i know you are after cleaning out this room of the unfortunate souls that have left us..." He paused only for a moment long enough to turn towards her with a smile once more on his face before he made sure his next words were perfectly clear. "... which is why you will be sleeping in the bed tonight Kay. You treated me long enough and im healthy enough to sleep in the chair. You won't be getting any leeway on this Kay, the bed is yours and it will be so for tonight atleast." He stared in her direction with the look clear on his face that she would not be allowed to argue on the point, atleast not this time.

Kay knew that kind of look. She had never seen Solan give it before, but she had seen it on others, like her late husband and some of the Sith and Dark Jedi he worked with. Of course she wanted to argue with him on it, as he was clearly worth more than she was and had a daughter out there somewhere missing him. But she didn't speak her thoughts. Instead she just sighed a little. "Alright...just for tonight. I can easily make myself a bed of sorts with seat cushions tomorrow."

But that was of course after she finishes her work with the rest of the bodies. At least she had gone through more than half of them. "Could we at least have some more tea before going to bed? It relaxes me."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Might have to get you to a rehab after this, your addiction isn't good for you missy." The seriousness melted from his face the moment she gave in and said she would take the bed. He was back to his old smiling self that was more than ready to help prepare another tea that would be warm. "Its the least i can do for helping me with my eyesight, its the very least i could do is help create a place where you can relax after a tiring day..." He started moving towards the room, his steps as slow as ever as he still smiled. He was going to repay her for doing something he could no longer do. He had to repay her, just enough for the work that she had done for his eyesight. She didn't realize how much it meant to him to be able to see again... to see the beauty of the worlds. Not just the colorless shapes. "You coming my lady?" He said the words without thinking, just the same carefree tone as before like it was normal.

The sudden change in his attitude was a tad unnerving. But maybe it was to be expected. Or maybe she was just tired. But he was smiling again and making jokes, so that was good.

Kay hurried after him. "I'm coming, coming, coming." She hadn't been called a lady in a while, not since before her husband died. It caught her off guard a bit, but not really in a bad way. "I'm sure that fixing this ship will be more than enough for repayment for helping you with your eyes. I just hope that I can fix them entirely."

"Ehh, even if we can't i already use glasses for reading, using them for other stuff doesn't worry me that much. Granted my career as a eye model is over, oh the humanity." He smiled at her as they walked. Oddly enough he was finding enjoyment for once in the fact that he could just talk. Nothing about business, nothing about the world. Just talking and getting the ship fixed. Then returning to the galaxy and getting back into the fight. He was certainly a little bit tired of the fight but that is how things went over some times. If he didn't fight, someone else would have to in his place and he can protect people if he fights for those that can't. "Anyways, what do you plan to do after we get off this freezing rock?"
