The Fox and The Hound (Vulpesen)

Only touch the puppies. Got it.
This Myrkr sounded absolutely amazing. So wild it expelled all foreign life. Neshoba sat starry eyed for a little bit, just imagining what it would be like.

Vulpesen looked over to Ace and then back to the view port before leaning back in his seat. "Actually, I think its been a while since our last visit to Myrkr. Ace and I like to go for his family visits. But, we always like to find excuses to go back, especially if its to bond a wolf with another person. Also, given that you're telepathic, I don't think it'll be difficult for you to communicate with your bondmate. Most people have trouble at first."

That was good. Being able to easily talk to a puppy sounded great! Maybe when Nesh was in Wolf Form, they could play and hunt together. It'd be nice to have someone to come along for a change.
Does Ace talk to you?

Vulpesen gave another nod. "Of course he does. Though, I'm the only one he speaks with. The bond works in such a way so that he can only talk to other ashlans and his bondmate. Actually, through him, I've spoken to all the ashlan wolves. And its because of them I found my heritage. Sadly, I don;t think the same strategy would work with you."

Hm. Well, Nesh didn't think she'd be needing to talk to all the Ashlan wolves anyway. But it would've been nice regardless. She looked down at Ace, eyeing him intently.
Do you know what he thinks of me?
[member="Vulpesen"]

Ace looked back up at her before trotting over to leap to her shoulder, a place he loved to sit on people he liked. "He definitely likes you. After all, you did spend quite a bit of time scratching behind his ears." He grinned and started to adjust his coat around himself. "By the way, its not any Ashlan that will bond with you. It may or may not take a few tries as not all matches will work."

Nesh nuzzled Ace a little. She hoped the Ashlan she bonded with would be like him. She also hoped that the pup would like her enough to stay with her. She wasn't very good with people. Would she be any good with them?

Vulpesen turned his smile towards Neshoba to reassure her. "Don't worry, the bonding process, while we don't fully understand it, is highly unlikely to pair you with an ashlan you won't get along with. At least, not without y'all undergoing a large change some time after the bond is made. And given all we've been through, I doubt there's much to turn you or your companion away from each other. Besides, you seem nice enough as it is."

I hope they like me. I'll hunt with them and play with them all the time!
Neshoba started scratching behind Ace's ears again, smiling at him so widely that all of her canine teeth showed.

Vulpesen chuckled a bit. "Careful, Ashlans can hunt, but ace here is average size for an adult. Won't be much help in the actual fight once you hunt down your quarry." He cast a glance to ace who had sent him a small look. "Though, they do have other talents." Obviously it was a bit of an after thought, a sign of their silent communications.

The adults are this big? Could be a surprise attacker in a fight.
Neshoba mused. Perhaps Ashlans were more powerful than they appeared. For all she new, the little pup on her shoulder could have the bite-strength to break bones.

Vulpesen let out a small laugh. "They hunt with bondmates. Most good you'll find your friend in a hunt is most likely to be a scout." He flicked his tail and looked over to Ace. "Oh come on, you can't really say you helped much with that Tarentatek." He gave a small huff in response and curled up on the girl's shoulders.

Neshoba made a sort of grunting sound that stood in for her laugh. She continued petting Ace.
There there, Ashlan wolf. You're pretty tough to me.

He let out a small laugh and leaned back, his glowing gold eyes closing. "Well, probably won't be too long until we're there. Tell me if anything starts bursting into flames." He smiled and pulled up his hood, covering his head as he started to doze off, his tail wrapping around himself. Meanwhile, Ace's eyes would open up a bit more while he curled up a bit tighter on the wolf girl.

Neshoba turned her attention to her appearance. The coat was covering most of her. But, she felt that maybe it would be better to find something to cover all of her. She wasn't sure that Ashlan wolves would care or not if she was dressed, but it might make a better first impression. She gently took Ace in her hands and stood up. Setting him down on the chair with a little pat on his head, Nesh set out to find clothes.
She wandered until she found what looked like a bedroom. Probably Vulpesen's. Since he was the only one who kept clothes here at the moment, it was her only option. She walked inside. Not too spacious, but still comfortable with a two-person bed and a dresser. She began to carefully rummage through the drawers.
Twenty minutes later, Neshoba returned to the cockpit wearing a green sweater three sizes too big for her, pants that she'd cropped in slightly uneven places to make them shorts, and socks that stretched up to her kneecaps. She wasn't a fashion guru of any kind, obviously.

Vulpesen's tail flicked and he opened an eye to look over at Neshoba. "Really glad ya woke me, buddy." He lifted himself from his seat. "Looks like someone got into my disguises. Granted he didn't use them often, but he did keep various articles of clothing in the ship. "Follow me, I might have a few things left over from... I might have a few things."

Moving over to the other side, he made his way into another sleeping chamber, though smaller than his own. Though, it was also set up as something of a meditation chamber, made in various shades of greys. "Ace, take down some of that stuff. Rather not have the past hanging around. Besides, its not a very welcoming color." As he spoke, he took a foot locker and started t go through it.

Neshoba started sniffing the new room a little bit. It smelled... Under-used. As if it hadn't been disturbed for a while. There was a lot of gray on the walls. She wondered why that was...
She walked up to the footlocker, peering inside above Vulpesen's head.

Pulling out a set of clothes he thought might look a bit nicer, his hands swerving away from sets of grey robes. Standing up, he presented them to her. "Sorry, not much, but at least they seem to match you." The clothes were a bright white, and while not the best f things he could give, they were among the best he could find at the moment given the limited resources. "Not often I have visitors that require a change a clothes."

Neshoba gently took the garments. They were as white as her fur! She quickly slipped them on, looking down at herself. They were a good fit. She looked back up at Vulpesen curiously.
Who's were these?
