A crash erupted, and next Kalo knew, his enemy was laying on the ground. an expression of confusion made its way on his face, but his questions were resolved when he saw a ship hovering above the ground.
There was no way he could stand up in a fight with an enemy with much higher ground than him. Kalo let a Twi'Lek swear mutter under his breath. Taking a look back at his enemy, he knew the man didn't have much time before he was blasted away by the ship. suddenly, his memories began to reappear.
Kalo say behind the large block of hard sand, separating him from the furious battlefield that lay behind. this was the final stretch of their conquest, just beyond the valley below him was the infamous sith base, "Fort Sarith". His mission was to conquer and destroy it, but his battalion was faced by heavy sith resistance, the hot sun parched his skin, and sand blew in the wind, taking his vision, along with the sith's. Standing up he aimed with his standard issue rifle and fired off a few shots into the sith fleet of tanks. in the valley below, his men fought a bloody, seemingly never ending battle, close quarters with the sith. Kalo was new to war, at only age 19. Thankfully, his general chose that he was put on guard outside his camp, to hold back any enemy that advanced too quickly toward the encampment. Without general wilkson, the battalion would be annihilated within hours. again, Kalo put his head up to check if there was any enemy that had strayed far enough out to become a close target. There was nothing, but a faint metallic click was heard. Kalo knew the sound from training, but nothing could have prepared him for the actual situation. Looking down, a small metal ball was located right below his cover... and it was beeping.
Kalo instantly got to his feet and began running the direction if the camp to get away, but he was only ten feet out when it exploded. It knocked him to the ground, putting him in a daze, and almost unconscious. whoever had thrown the grenade obviously had better things to do than kill Kalo, because he was already running into. the generals camp.
His eyes sprang open when his brain finally put the pieces together, he needed to stop whoever was going to kill his leader. Getting to his feet, he crumpled, his legs were jelly. Another try, he finally got it, and began limping to the tent. he heard more shots, urging him to pick up the speed. eventually evolving into a full run, Kalo arrived to the camp, were all he saw were bodies of his friends. and there was a man in the generals tent.
Kalo sprinted into the mans tent to find the general sitting in his chair with a gun to his head, an older gentleman holding the trigger. Quickly Kalo used the element of surprise and his keen sences and aiming skills to react. Kalo fired one shot, knocking the gun fully out of his intruders hand, and another, busting his kneecap. Kalo took a deep breath, he had prevented it for as far as he could tell. He tried to ignore the fact that three men were dead because of him, but the realization wouldn't effect him fully until a few hours later.
For now, Kalo needed to put the dog down. He walked up to the ma, putting his rifle on his forehead. "you have earned an immediate termination for attempted assassination" he spoke. His finger enclosed the trigger, but before he could fire the weapon, a hand softly pushed it away from the crippled man on the floor, screaming about his knee. Kalo looked to the side to see Wilkens. "killing him while he is down and unarmed, makes you just as bad" he said.
Kalo took a breath. "Damn it" he mumbled. He took off running toward the man, grabbing him by the shoulder. "come on you heavy piece of fodder, we gotta get out of here" Kalo spoke loud enough for him to hear.
