The heart of the blade.

The male was still there, but he fell into the background and the woman took center stage next to Flinx.

"She loved him as only a woman can. The two of them brought you into the world. You tied, connected and united the unit of light and dark together. Much like he and I do. What you seek to do here is similar. You can't cleanse that which is a part of you, but you can unite and bind them together. Return to your body and we will guide you to a safe location to accomplish this."

With that the spirits were almost gone. Just the sense of them remained and like a beacon they called him back to his body.

Flinx came back to his body and dismissed Thanatos to go hunt as he followed the sense of the spirits deeper into the cave, minding his footsteps since he was barefoot. His heart was heavy with what the spirits said. He was dredging up feelings he had buried deep and a long time ago. He looked around as he had been walking a while with no spirit contact.

The large cave was not where he was drawn, but in a different direction. A stream ran in front of that cave and it was in the direction of the source of that stream he was being lead. If he strayed from the direction he was being guided, small and gentle nudges would occur until he was back to searching for what the spirits wanted him to find.

Provided he stayed on course, he would be lead to a waterfall. Here he would be faced with a choice. The path ended, but a pull was still felt in front of him. Part of the test he faced. No help would come from the spirits if he called on them.

With a determined step he would step through the waterfall hoping his gut instinct would guide him to the right place. As he stepped through his robes would be drenched, but he didn't care. He was determined to stick this trial out to the end.

"Ok, I'm here where to next oh great spirits." He would say as he held onto the two crystals.

The intuition hunch was correct and as he stepped under the waterfall, a new cave system opened up in front of him. Secreted away from the casual view of those walking in the forest, this cave was left to go wild. As he had approached and long before he got there, any of the animals that called this cave a home had fled. Right now he was alone here.

If he continued into the cave and followed that pull, he would not get lost. However if he trailed off to explore any of the side tunnels, he would get lost.

He would follow the pull making the trek deeper into the cave. It was odd, he truly felt alone. That is what disturbed him. All his life he had tried to escape being alone, yet it scared him now that anything could happen and no one would know what happened to him.

Flinx kept following the pull till it came to its terminus.

After a few twists, turns and travelling through various tunnels (not the main large one), the pull lead him cavern that was quite large. In the ceiling above there were tunnels, but none lead directly to the surface of the world. Yet there was light here and in the middle of the room was stone table and what looked like three thrones. In the middle of the table was an ancient device.

It was to this device Flinx was drawn.

The essence of the spirits were here, but they did not appear. Only the feeling of them was present.

Flinx was very curious as he slowly approached the device unsure as to its use or origin. He circled the cavern and twice, then three times before approaching the table like structure.

"Ok I'm here so now what?" Flinx couldn't see but he could feel the pull of the force.

The first time he walked around the cavern, one of the spirits took a seat in her throne. On his second time around, the male took his throne. When he came to the end of his third, there would be a shifting around them.

"Take a seat."

He would find himself seated in the third throne and on the table in front of them would be what was needed to create a lightsaber. The only item missing were his crystals he intended to use.

Flinx would set the green and red crystals on the table and look to either side of him. "Well now, knowing that you are spirits you know what I'm trying to create. The new question is how am i supposed to do this.

Flinx had it in his mind the saber he wanted. He wanted a long handled saber, more of a staff really, but it would start at like two foot long and extend to its full length of four and a half feet. It would need to be made out of lightsaber resistant materials so that he could block and parry lightsaber strikes. At one end he would want a lightsaber blade of about two foot at the end.

"You're thinking too hard on this. Let the Force guide you."

The male let out a sigh a the optimism of the female, but in this case she was right.

"Close your mind from thinking and do what feels natural."

If he did as they said, his hands would move almost on their own and slowly what he wanted to create would come into being.

As she said, once he had cleared his mind his hands moved and piece by piece the saber would come together but yet the two crystals would remain where they were. He didn't feel ready to use them yet. "What are your stories, and are you tied to this place? I am a scholar at heart so I wish to hear and record for future generations."

Uninhibited by time he worked ceaselessly until all that was left was the crystals but he didn't know what to do to purify them. "What do I do now, cause if I put them in now the whole thing will backfire."

"What we say must not be recorded. Keep it to yourself. You will know people who you can speak to of this. Your companion is one of them."

Two names would be given to him and nothing else. Enough history of these two could be found already.

As he neared completion and with him so focused on his task, Flinx probably did not notice what went on with those two crystals he brought with him. Passing between the two spirits were waves of the Force and they each touched those crystals.

"Are you sure about that boy."

Now it was the woman's turn to sigh at the man.

"Before you assume something will backfire, always try it out."

Flinx would look between the two and would take the two crystals and using the force he would align them in such a way that they have the highest chance of working. "Here goes nothing.." He would finish the crystal chamber and use the force to fuse the entire thing as one piece.

"Well its time to light it off. Force help me if this thing explodes."

Wit a small explosion the blade burst from the saber and then Flinx hit the secondary switch and the staff extended to its full length. The blade was a brilliant white and Flinx beamed with pride at his work.

Once Flinx ignited his saber, a simple verse came from the spirits.

"The crystal is the heart of the blade.
The heart is the crystal of the Jedi and Sith.
The Jedi and Sith are the crystal of the Force.
The Force is the blade of the heart.
All are intertwined: The crystal. The blade. The Jedi. The Sith.
You are one."

There were more than just Jedi and Sith involved in the galaxy and that used lightsabers, but these two spirits came from a time when there were only the two. Thus when they spoke, it was a memory of their era.

The cavern again shifted and they were gone. A clear path out was highlighted for Flinx though. When he was ready, he could leave and return to the camp.

Flinx would walk out deactivating his saber. Slowly he walked back to camp and would see Seo and wave, "Miss Linn, I'm back. is everyone ok?" Flinx would smile and walk through the camp. H was unsure as to what had changed or even how much time has passed so he was hoping nothing had happened.

She had known why Flinx was here and did not freak out when she woke up to find him gone. The Knight also knew these trials would take time, just how long depended on everything involved. Seo had the feeling he would be gone for an extended amount of time. Attempting to make sure his droid understand after waking up to having a blaster pointed at her, things at the camp were peaceful.

Not touching the holocron he had given to her, Seo instead studied the animal sounds around the camp. Different birds, how they moved when predators approached and soon enough she had called one or two to visit the camp. As the day hunters wandered in the forest, she would listen to them as well. It always helped to know the sounds of the animals around.

When Flinx returned, she had already eaten for the day and it was approaching sunset again. Tonight though, she had prepared their dinner.

"Hope you don't mind fowl."

A stew sat bubbling in a camp pot, filled with dumplings, meat and some wild vegetables she knew were safe to eat.

"Smells as good as it sounds and my stomach thinks it hears an angel choir." Flinx would walk up and stand looking at Seo. "how long was I gone? Also is everything ok? You do any exploring around cause i really am curious about this temple now cause... well cause of the spirits I met on my journey. They like really made me think and work through some feelings I had buried. Also I am definitely not sure about my balance but hey I got a cool lightsaber out of it." He would hold out his saber trusting the other knight. "Does this mean I'm closer to being a knight?"

If Seo was the type to smile, she would have at his comments on the smell and sound of her cooking.

"I do not know when you left, but I woke up when your droid pulled the covers off me and threated to shoot me with a blaster. He thought I had done something to you. Still don't understand what he says, but he calmed down pretty quickly."

BB-3 started up with a tirade of beeps at Flinx and explained what had happened.

"Tell me did they give a saying when you tested your blade?"

Realizing she hadn't answered his question, it shoud be obvious even to a physically blind person that everything was fine.

"Not much exploring. Mostly listened to the animals and birds. Want to hear what I learned?"

"They said,
The crystal is the heart of the blade.
The heart is the crystal of the Jedi and Sith.
The Jedi and Sith are the crystal of the Force.
The Force is the blade of the heart.
All are intertwined: The crystal. The blade. The Jedi. The Sith.
You are one."

"So yah, thats what they said word for word." Flinx would look over to BB-3 "As for you How many times did I say don't point your holdout blaster. Now hand it over." BB-3 would let out a whimper and hand over the blaster. Flinx would levitate it with the force and in a twitch of his fingers he would disassemble it in midair and set the parts in front of the BB unit. "you can have it back when you put it back together."

Flinx would then sit by the fire and eat. Sitting next to him is the collapsed saber with its Phrik handle glinting in the firelight. While Phrik is normally a silvery metal but when he used the force he darkened some bits to a nice slug-thrower metal grey to give it a unique appearance. Flinx would, after he finished his meal, go to the cart and pull out some leather and start to work on a back sling for it noting where the different clips and things needed to be and feeling it all through the force before securing it around his chest and feeding the saber into it so it was secured.

"Would you like to see it or would you like to duel and test it?"
