Invasion The Liberation of Ossus [Republic vs. Sith Empire]

Despite all the pain, despite likely having several fractures and broken bones, Josh managed to get to his feet just in time to see Krag charging something. Fire came from the Graug's hands and it was obvious he had plans to throw fireballs the Master's way.

In return, Josh stared dead into the eyes of the Graug as he took a breath, and flames ignited on his hands as well. Focusing into the Force, remembering his training to use the fire as a friend, not a tool... The fire slowly got larger as he lent it more and more energy.

And then Krag let loose, tossing fireball after fireball at Josh.

And he did the same. Josh began tossing fireball after fireball the way of Krag without hesitation, trying to match him blow for blow once again.

One set of fireballs collided, disappitating into nothing on impact. Then another set. And another. Over and over, Josh kept throwing fireball after fireball tirelessly. The difference was though, Josh was throwing them much faster, though not as powerfully as Krag's. If Krag tired first, then Josh would be able to bombard him with numbers of fireballs quickly. If Josh tired though, then he'd have to get out of the way or risk getting scorched badly.

The Jedi had given him the signal and now he would be able to fight the Sith. He didn't know if it was a good idea, but he did what he had to so that the Republic could win this day. He came a bit closer and said ''Go defeat that Sith, I'll handle this one.'' He faced the Jedi with a painful smile. Then he turned to the Sith. She didn't look that tough as far as he could tell. If he could just hold up his defense with Soresu he would surely be able to tire the Sith out and then he could try to take her out with one of the Niman moves he had learned. At least he hoped he could. His leg was still in a bad shape and one blow to that would defeat him. He would have to try to ward off any attack directed at his leg and he was determined to do so. He took another step towards the Sith and entered the same Soresu opening stance he had used in his duel against the Echani Senator. ''So then, let's begin. The name's Yasuo by the way, just in case you want to know the name of the person who's going to defeat you today.'' He said, trying to hide his pain and appear tougher than he actually was at the moment.

Great Jedi Library

The Sith Lord did not waste his time attempting to manipulate the residual energy thrown back in his direction as he closed for the attack. Kinetite, unless manipulated through impact, was a very linear, almost purposeless attack at a prepared opponent. However, if it managed to draw the opponent in and occupy time, it was very useful. Kiskla Grayson had just taken the bait. Strike one.

At the last possible moment, Cameron dashed to his right before cutting back to his left with speed aided by his strength in the Force. Within the blink of an eye, the Sith Lord had gone from being several feet away from the Jedi Master to having the full weight of his crimson Sith Sword crashing on top of her crossed sabers. Strength...was always a relative term in combat. In fact, Cameron had learned the hard way over several instances that leverage inevitably won the day. Kiskla's two arms supporting her command over the force was at least enough to match his larger one arm. The momentum of his body weight combined with the weight of his alchemical steel blade would have sent anyone else crashing to the ground almost immediately, so it was to Kiskla's credit that she remained on her feet regardless of brace. Good.

A thin smile briefly touched his lips the instant he sensed and felt the shift in Kiskla's muscles indicating her attempt to shift to a more offensive posture. Just as she was forcing her arm forward, Ashmedai released the pressure of his blade and spun to her weak side, away from her dominant hand. As the Sith Lord spun, he vaulted into the air, manipulating the Force to carry him well above the lower level of the turbulent storm that only increased in intensity as the Sith on the planet drew heavily on the dark side of the Force. In a matter of seconds, he would be out of view completely as his presence exploded. Kiskla would feel it wash over her and the surroundings like water just released from a dam.

Phase two, child... The words came directly to her mind, but the Sith Lord's body remained largely out of view.

Donovan's face contorted in frustration momentarily before he stepped forward so he was right beside @[member="Saki"], then fired, a good fifteen times into the Sith soldiers "Good fething morning Jedi!" He yelled, ducking his head down to avoid a stray blaster bolt as he continued to let the Sith have each and every round he could give them.

As they continued fighting, a Sith trooper got in close enough to swing a punch, one which he ducked under, then sprung up, slamming the but of his rifle across the man's helmet. A sickly crack followed as the man's neck snapped from the force of the blow. Carlyle simply shrugged, and continued unloading into the Sith.

Diana leaped back one last time, getting ready to deal the killing blow. Just before Mikhail reached out and grabbed her one last time. She took on a look of utter determination, and whirled back her arm. With the force imbuing every muscle, every tendon, every little bit of her arm Diana threw her blade Tyrfing at Mikhail.

The Songsteel sword was sharp enough to cut through most metals, and when hurled with the force behind it it would be more than enough to pierce The Sith's armor. The Sword was made to slay darksiders, every inch of it was imbued with the light. It was forged with the use of the skill Force Light and burned those who had been corrupted by darkness by mere touch. It was a sword that Mikhail could not pick up and use, much like Diana or any other Jedi could never pick up a Sith Sword without massive consequence. Tyrfing was the blade that had slain Velok, it was the blade that had killed a hundred Sith, and hopefully it would end Mikhail as well.

With these thoughts in mind Diana shot Tyrfing forward like javelin, the hilt leaving her palm just as she felt Mikhail's telekinesis bind her once again. The Knight was picked up and thrown against a boulder, slammed into it over and over again.

She tried to create a barrier of the force between herself and the impact, to stifle it, or even stop it. Each time the small barrier became weaker and weaker, until finally the boulder cracked in half, and Diana was thrown against it one more time. The crunch of bone could be heard and Diana screamed out in pain.

Pain lanced through her body as she fell into the pieces of the broken boulder, falling away from Mikhails view. Spasms ran across her spine as she lay within the rubble, nearly broken.

Having arrived at last, Karsh senses a sturggle, with strong surges of both light and dark sides of the Force rippling out like shockwaves in water. "Good. A Jedi." Karsh thinks to himself. After a moment or two of searching, he finds them @[member="Diana Moridena"] and @[member="Mikhail Shorn"] violently fighting. Neither had spotted him yet. "Hello," Karsh sends a telepathic message only recievable by those who side with the dark side of the Force, "want some help?" He asks jumping into the area in which they were fighting, letting Diana know of his presence.

GREAT JEDI LIBRARY

Once @Yasuo’s wound had been treated, Daella stepped back - thus giving him room to stand up and leave as she did. Daella observed Yasuo as he forced himself to walk.

After Yasuo left Daella’s vision, she turned back to the rest of the group. She turned to @[member="Meta "]as he voiced his readiness. When Meta asked if others were coming, Daella looked at the others on the stairway. She carefully eyed @[member="Yusan Fenn"], then glanced at @[member="Florin Armetta"].

Then when @Dar'nak said that he would join Daella, the Knight looked toward her comrade and gave him a nod.

Looking at the group as a whole once more, Daella lifted her lightsaber up with one arm. Blaster bolts whizzed by her due to the erratic firing of soldiers all around them. Daella’s face tensed as a gust of wind brushed up against the cloth over her armor.

With a loud, forceful voice unlike how she normally spoke, Daella yelled, “Then follow, Brothers! Do not waver in the face of fear and believe in me, as I believe in you to bring peace to this planet!

Once she finished her sentence, Daella turned around and faced the entrance of the Great Jedi Library. She brushed her left hand over her Jedi beacon on her utility belt. Upon doing that, the beacon released a signal that would go out to Jedi in the vicinity. It was a call for those such as @[member="Vulpesen"], @[member="Eenes Kokad"], @[member="Tyr-Kyr Magnus"], @[member="Iella E`ron"], @[member="Hawk Solo"], and others to join her in the last push needed to take the Library from the Sith.

With the message out, Daella gripped her lightaber with both hands and charged into the Library. Immediately, she was met with several Sith Troopers just within the foyer. Yet, the Jedi Knight continued forward as she deftly deflecting incoming blaster bolts and struck down those that she could. It seemed as if she would give all that she could to push her way into the Temple.

Through mud-smeared visor and red-tunnel rage, Mikhail barely saw the sword leave her hand. Desperately, he flung himself sideways, but his armor was so heavy and his feet were stuck in the mud. His sideways leap turned into a lurching fall.

Feth.

The blade took him just below the ribs on his left side. It passed cleanly through the phrik and duraplast alloy. Normally, Mikhail felt a numbness accompany a sword wound. This burned. It burned so badly, he felt as if his entire side had caught fire. The Sith Lord let out an anguished scream just before he hit the ground. Mud splashed. He lay in the mire, writhing in pain. The sword stuck through him like some sort of strange growth. The rain fell heavily on him, though he did not feel it. It washed away rivulets of red from his side, which ran to mix with the mud beneath him.

He let out panicked breaths from between clenched teeth. The wound still burned, like when Tahira had touched him. It was the Lightside, like the unwanted rays of the sun upon a cavern-dweller. He reached up his cybernetic hand, which reacted to the nerve impulses in his body. He wanted this thing out of him. Inhuman fingers wrapped around the blade. Mikhail clenched his teeth. He was a Sith Lord who had murdered men, women, and children. He was a monster. He would not let this Jedi girl hear him scream. With one, sharp motion he ripped the blade free.

Mikhail screamed.

The blade fell from his cybernetic fingers. Mikhail lay there, motionless, panting. The burning was gone, replaced by a numb sensation. Without the Soulsaber to sustain him through every injury, Shorn felt all his hurts. Yet, the Thronebreaker would not be denied his victory. Fingers scrabbled in the mud before finding his knife. He seized it, the familiar hilt providing him with some sense of comfort. Slowly, he picked himself up off the ground. Mud coated his armor, leaving the original color unrecognizable. One hand clutched to his side, covering his wound; the other held his knife extended, ready to fight.

The rain continued to pour.

Tyr-Kyr was awake, if not fully so, and he was able to slightly grasp the situation around him. His main problem now was his inability to focus his thoughts or his vision. Whether this was due to the immense pain or the loss of blood he knew not, but Tyr-Kyr fought with all his might to remain conscious. He heard the first voice say to a new one that Med-Evacs had arrived and that she was to see Tyr-Kyr got there safely, and while Tyr-Kyr was happy with receiving the help he refused to remain on the sidelines during the Jedi's greatest hour. He resolved in that very moment that once he was seen by the medics he would rejoin the fray. Tyr-Kyr had always been tough, and he refused to give up just yet.

Diana lay within the broken boulder for a few moments, blood poured from her wounds and pain lanced through her entire body. She had broken ribs, her left arm was broken, and blood was quickly leaving her body. Her wounds throbbed, and below her a pool of blood and water mixed. Her clothes were now completely and entirely soaked. She had to go on however, she had to keep going. The force filled her, a meek trickle of power she could use to sustain herself.

She crawled from beneath the pieces of the boulder, moving out into the open again. As she sat up slightly she noticed Mikhail standing clutching a wound. She smiled at that slightly, Tyrfing had done its job. She saw her blade on the ground, and using the force called out to it.

The sword slid across the ground, finding its way to her after clattering loudly against the stone. She grabbed the hilt of Tyrfing and then pressed herself upwards. She used the sword's blade as a crutch to stand on, her wounds and broken bones crying out as she did so. Her eyes centered on Mikhail through the pouring rain, her hair soaked and her clothes equally wet.

Finally she got to her feet, the struggle in her legs evident.

“Please, Even for you there is still a path to the light.” She spoke pleadingly. Not from a place of self-righteousness, not asking for mercy, but simply asking for a sense of reason.

She would fight until her dying breath if she had to, but even for Mikhail there was still hope. Even for the worst of the worst. It was an option that Diana would offer to anyone, even the Emperor himself.

Despite this however Diana still prepared, she prepared to fight...though it was clear she was on her last leg.

Near the Ruined Jedi Academy
Tallia had not been sitting idle while Krag and Josh were having their brawl. Her objective had been to keep Imperial forces away from the fight. Her violet lightsaber ripped through a first man's armor while she force gripped another and sent him shooting away. She swept her blade down taking out the legs of a group of Graug and sending them to the ground reeling in pain. Then, she dropped into a defensive stance, blocking blaster bolts back at their owners. Her work continued in a similar pattern until the incoming enemies seemed to come to a halt. "They seem to be changing course." She thought to herself as she twisted around to see how Josh was doing.

He was bloodied and beaten, yet he seemed to still be holding his enemy at bay. Krag looked to be in similar shape. The trees around the two where up in flames, and they had created a gigantic clearing were forest had stood an hour before. Josh shot a volley of fire for what seemed like the one hundredth time. "This needs to end." She said under her breath.

Off she stomped to where they were, stepping over chunks of wood and branches, and lifeless bodies that were of her own making. She stood watching, and put away her lightsaber. She wouldn't need it for what she was about to do. It was a technique that she knew how to do in theory, yet had never attempted. She stepped in between the two, and began to charge up the force energy inside her. She focused for what seemed like minutes inside her head, yet took only a millisecond in real time. She unleashed a powerful burst of force repulse. Raw energy shot through the surrounding area. The noise of the ripping wind was deafening. Tallia levitated off the ground for a good five seconds, then fell to the ground, momentarily exhausted.

Her goal had been to blast Krag away and allow her and Josh a chance to think about what to do next. She stood up and shook her head, trying to get over the light headedness. "We need a strategy. All your doing is getting yourself beat up." She said, then pointed to Krag. "He's just one Sith."

Witnessing the lightsaber that flew through Mikhail's armor, Karsh sends a powerful, commanding telepathic voice to Diana: "Jedi scum. He may be damaged," he says referencing Mikhail, "But I am not. In fact, I have yet to fight here on this planet. Maybe I should show you what happens when someone must rely only upon the Force to interact with his surroundings." He says this while lifting his hood to show his eyeless, no-nose, no-eared, mutated-mouth head. "Shall we?" he beckons.

Dar’rak watched as his friend Yasuo slowly walked off to aid another outside, he did not know if he should aid his friend or not. When Master Apparine made another warcry for them to follow her into battle Dar’rak turned from his friend whispering to him, “May the force guard your back.” Dar’rak watched as Master Apparine stepped outside the Library and sent out a becon for other Jedi to rally at their position and take back what rightfully belonged to them. It was a strange feeling Dar’rak had, They were taught that Jedi were not to have positions as it lead to loss and pain, yet here they were in force trying to reclaim something they once held as their own.

Dar’rak followed by Master Apparine’s side with his saber staff and cut down any Sith troopers she may have missed as the group traveled deeper into the library. Sith blaster bolts whipped past him as Dar’rak closed the distance between himself and his current targets.

Outside of the Great Library

From one of the outer Library walls exploded forth a man-sized hole, a wicked black gauntlet clutching the outside of the exploded wall. Kaine poked his head out to survey the raging battle across the jungles and plains near the Grand Library, and all around him he could see the devastation wrought by what Darc had started, and what Kaine had amplified down below. Kaine looked upward towards the slowly crumbling walls as the devastation down below became far more apparent as time ticked onwards, and he decided it was time to throw himself back into the fray. Kaine flung himself to the outside, clutching the outer wall with his force-augmented grip, and began to quickly scale the quickly crumbling wall towards a nearby plateau that jutted out near the Library. With a final burst of his incredible strength he lunged and clutched the end of the cliff, lifting himself over the edge as his Ethereal Slaves re-materialized on the cliff beside him, even the ones who had fallen in battle had reformed after Kaine detached himself from the fighting.

Kaine turned back towards the Library as he watched the lower portions continue to crumble, and decided to speed up that process. He reached out with the force, and enforced his telekinetic will upon the crumbling portions, forcing them to shatter outright or quicken in their crumbling decay. Once he had further accelerated the destruction, he returned to his meditative trance and began to expand his mental will in a large area of affect around him with Force Insanity, mainly targeting those who would try to enter the crumbling Library to reclaim it for the Jedi.

Eenes looked up in relief as the evac shuttle hovered and touched the ground. A small team emerged and rushed to the trio of padawans. "I'm all right," she told them, "but he's taken a lightsaber and she.... I'm not even sure, but I think she has a concussion. I'm pretty sure they're both stable, but they still need attention."

@[member="Tyr-Kyr Magnus"] @[member="Saran Drast"]

Vulpesen zipped across the battle field, using the force to increase his speed. As @[member="Daella Apparine"]'s call came in, he further increased his speed, aiming to join them in the library, only to see the empower trying to bring it down with a sizable amount of force energy flowing from him. A decrease in his force insanity led Vulpesen to the obvious conclusion of what was happening. "You fething idiot!" He cursed himself under his breath and reached into his robes, taking out three daggers which he then shot towards the emperor, one for the base of the spine, one for the middle back, and one for the head. A normal sith would had a hard time avoiding the quick attack under normal conditions, but the emperor had several things against him. He was otherwise engaged, turned around, and Vulpesen's attack had come from a throw powered by force enhanced speed which was cut down afterwards for Vulpesen to keep a grip on the weapons through the force, which thereby increased both their speed and his control over them. All in all, Vulpesen tended to give the Emperor a run for his money, at least for a brief moment to let his compatriots escape from the siths concentrated power.
@[member="Kaine Zambrano"]

Kaine had already exerted the force needed to accelerate the Library's destruction before he had even sat down in a meditative trance, but his acute senses could easily detect Vulpesen approached from behind. Within mere moments Kaine had already risen to his feet, and pointed his right hand at the incoming daggers. From the palm of his hand erupted forth a geyser of corrosive Dark Side energy, which expanded outward to cover the incoming daggers, and dissolve them into nothing as the darkness devoured them before dissipating into nothingness. "Greetings, Jedi. That was a very foolish thing for you to do." With his hand still raised and outstretched, he then unleashed a fully powered stream of Sith Lightning in the direction of Vulpesen. The thick stench of ozone would quickly envelope the area as the blue energy exploded forth from his fingertips.

Krag was sent hurling back dozens of feet, his body tumbling across the ground and through yet another tree. The Graug beast finally came to a stop about a dozen meters away from the two Jedi and then, his head pounding even worse now, stood from his position and roared out towards the two Sith "Jedi, the Sith are the ultimate power in the galaxy! With the Graug at their side, the Empire shall march across the stars and post your bodies upon pikes and decorate the Imperial Palace with your blood! Nothing can stop us now!"

Escaping the crumbling library

Although he was able to sustain the collapsing pieces of the foundation, it was only for a short time. The structure began to shake and crumble as more pieces started to fall again. Darc slowly stood back up and looked above, then noticed Iella entering. Time was running out it was time to go. Suddenly, another disturbance in the Force. Darkness had spread once more onto the building as someone had aided the destruction of the structure from the outside of the library. Darc called upon the Force and sped forward towards Iella, grabbing her. As he rushed pillars began to fall over and large ceiling pieces followed in his wake. Ahead he could see the light of the main entrance, which the entry way was becoming smaller and smaller. The library was caving in completely and it was mere seconds till there wasn't any trace of light left. He had no choice. He blazed forward and lunged at the last second. He turned his back into the collapsing wall; hugging the girl from direct impact. He smashed through the doorway; rolling down the staircase with her.

@[member="Iella E`ron"]

This time, Vulpesen barked a curse in Amaran, using his already enhanced speed to leap over the bolts of lightning, missing them by just enough to ensure his safety as he aimed to land within the falling library, using the rubble as a protective shield. Furiously hitting his comlink, Vulpesen growled into the device. "I've got a lot of tricks, but I think this time I might be all out of aces. Anyone capable of taking down a very angry, very powerful sith emperor?" As he looked forward, he saw the falling entrance, and enhanced his speed to make it to the other end, avoiding falling debris and the like as he charged forward. As the final pillar fell and closed off the exit, Vulpesen went for a different approach, splitting his lightsaber in two and using the dual blades to cut a nice hole in the surface.

As the pillar dropped to the ground, Vulpesen allowed it to carry him, using the force to propel himself in a manner much like the time he had dueled Flint Dexen back when he was only a padawan. However, this time the opposing force was not a force push, but a clock. He could sense @[member="Diana Moridena"]'s pain and her weariness. Still, he could sense an equally exhausted presence near her, likely the sith she was fighting. As he closed in, Vulpesen aimed himself for a small overhang which sent him airborne. Using his aerial position, Vulpesen quickly launched the object to the fourth party, @[member="Karsh Lithern"]. "Where are your manners?" Despite his recent ordeals, Vulpesen held a smile on his mouth, exuding confidence within the force, something that was only furthered by his quip of Karsh trying to enter the current duel.
