The Ore-dinary Hunt [Mandalorian Dominion of Gallos]

After finally regaining his mind from the grasps of the Darkside, Nolan Detta needed to keep his mind occupied. War was the best answer.

Currently boarded into a drop pod, Nolan waited for the green light that signaled the beginning of the new Wrecking Ball path to be carved. He wasn't the favorite son of Mandalore right now, and there were eyes watching him at every turn, seeing a Mando go Darkside, even momentarily, put a target on your back. Soon, he was sure, there would be movements to have him branded Dar'manda. But until then, the skeptics could suck his juevos. He wanted blood, and war was the best way to get some. He sang to himself he song of his clan( you all know what I mean) and for now, he waited for his go ahead to drop hell onto the raiders below.

This was a dark world and as Basaba looked upon it she clenched her mechanical hand while she gripped the horak rifle checking her sites. The rollers were being sent with her team into the jungle to act as mins while she moved towards the ruined mountain base they had seen from the Yaim'la when it was coming down. She spoke into the comlink and her shoulder cannon shifted with the movements of her head. "I am on the ground and heading towards the base we saw in the Yaim'la, rollers inbound and Cerberus waiting to be deployed."

This wasn't Oddball's first rodeo, far from it actually. With all the drops he had been on it was business as usual with the Fett clone, but with every drop he always thought back to his first. Handing over some spice to Commander Galaar, fighting the enemy on that god forsaken space station. Those were the days, the days where the first generation of Dread Guard, before everything went to hell and back again. Before Calico betrayed them and killed Galaar, and before the young clone was forced to grow up into the man he was today.

As the cabin of the dropship rocked in atmosphere Oddball let out a few breaths of air as the familiar sensation of Gs pressed against his chest and body, only to fade into nothingness and the weight of real gravity return to it. Oddball looked down at the sub machine gun and cocked the slide on it to chamber a round into the barrel, this was going to be a hot landing more than likely. He looked over to his side and spotted an orange Twe'lik and a massive Gen'dai. The woman's body language was pensive and nervous to say the least so oddball spoke to her as she reminded her of him many moons ago.

"First drop is always the hardest, I got your back out there ma'am." He said in the traditional accent all fett clones had.

Looking forward the little red warning light went on as standard procedures went and it meant that it was time. So he waited to get out of that ship and face the enemy for glory and blood.

Rahm tucked his hands through the straps of his seat's harness, bracing himself as the dropship burst through Gallos' atmosphere. The ship's interior was cramped, full of heavily armored Mandalorians and other members of the Vanguard, the stench of sweat starting to permeate around the Balmorran.

Some of these soldiers seemed to know one another; their body language spoke of familiarity and shared history. This was a tight knit group, apparently, and while there were plenty of other recruits like him, Rahm seemed to be one of the few absent the full regalia, the widely coveted beskar'gam. Heavy armor never suited me anyway.

Rahm tilted his head to the left, then to the right, his neck-muscles straining against the weight of his helmet. Rahm did this until he felt a satisfying crack in his neck, relieving the tension. Much better. Satisfied, Rahm blinked his cybernetic eye once and rolled it around counter-clockwise, connecting his HUD's systems to that of the dropship. Their ship was descending rapidly now, they would be at their destination before long. Rahm took a moment to watch the Kilometers tick away before blinking his false eye again, closing the window in his HUD.

Mandalorian or no, this old man was more than willing to show some of these young guns what a real soldier looked like. With that Rahm hummed quietly to himself, and old republic marching tune. Struggling to hear his off-key humming against the din of those around him, Rahm steeled himself for the bloody work to come.

Wes sat with the bolts of the dropship heavy repeater between his feet as they waited for hard contact with the enemy ground forces. His simple black and green BDU's were a far cry from Mandalorian iron but he had never been let down by the simple kit. He checked his weapon's power pack and lifted a chin to his A-gunner to acknowledge he was ready. He didn't know the guy but the Mandos had promised to pay well and if he had to work with a few new faces for this one he would.

He tooka pinch of fine cut tobacco from a small tin in his pocket and placed it between his lower cheek and gums. The fact it was a disgusting habit was not lost on the man, but his desire to impress people with his sweet disposition and charm was nonexistent.

He said nothing as the ship lifted off and made it's way to the surface. He would wait for the doors to open and then swing onto the edge of the opening to supply cover fire. If he survived he'd be a few more kills closer to hell and a few credits richer. If he died, he wouldn't give a damn either way.

Continuing in the long and proud tradition of stealing vehicles owned by his employer, [member="Captain Larraq"], Grozurra had once again managed to slip a bit of inventory out of a Mandal Hypernautics hanger and deftly load it into a drop ship for use on whatever mission he had been hired for. That, or it was simply that no one had the courage to ask the armored wookiee where he thought he was going with one of Rygel Larraq's personal prototypes. But as [member="Ijaat Akun"] busied himself with ordering about the peons, more than one young Mandalorian would be startled by the lumbering metal giant that stumbled its way out of a nearby drop ship. Large, clanking feet and a stooped form squeezed awkwardly and clumbsily from the confines of the dropship. More than a single scratch and scrape was made as metal bumped and grinded against metal. Grozurra's thick, armored gauntlets worked two joysticks and his big, powerful feet worked six petals. Eventually though, he forced the massive vehicle free from the drop ship and it rose impressively to its full seven meter height.

Towering over his fellow Mandalorians even more than usual from the reinforced cockpit of the AT-MP Mining Vehicle, Grozurra smiled to himself and hummed a little tune.

For several moments, Anija found herself simply listening to the comm chatter that was flying back and forth between Vilaz's ship and the others that had arrived to assist. Honestly, she found herself surprised that so many that weren't Mandalorian wanted to help. I guess the chance at a bounty reward and other items was quite a draw, she thought to herself with a slight smirk. Well, it meant more hands to complete their objectives, so she shrugged accepting it.

Shaking her head at her own thoughts for the moment, she slowly pushed the control stick forward, nosing the Pathfinder down into the atmosphere of the planet below. Gallos. Not a planet she thought she'd ever visit, and certainly not for the main purpose of their visit. Sure, they were securing the planet for the Mandalorians, but there was also the added bonus of the bounty rewards and well... Cortosis. Just the thought got her engineer's mind reeling with possibilities.

Another shake of her head, and she focused on flying. With the Pathfinder's cloak engaged, most wouldn't be able to pick up the vessel on scanners. And she honestly doubted the raiders had any serious defenses against an armed and well coordinated offiensive. As the vessel hit atmosphere, she pulled back on the stick, but not far enough to cause the vessel to stall. Even with the inertial dampeners, the vessel still shook slightly as it was buffeted by the high winds in the upper atmosphere.

The few minutes it took to pass through the planet's upper atmosphere passed in relative silence, broken only by the rushing wind and the sounds made by the Pathfinder's nav console. When she was clear of t he upper atmospheric distortion, Anija sent an acknowledgement to Vilaz, and began her scans. The landscape was pockmarked with mines here and there. Some, she could pick up significant deposits of Cortosis. Others, seemed rather barren. She let the scans run for a few minutes, looking up when t he sensor console pinged. <Scans indicate a large concentration of Barabel and Trandoshan lifesigns to your east. Approximately... two kilometers. The mine tunnels between here and there, appear to be mostly clear, but I would advise caution... he might have booby traps.>

The smell was what always got Kado. Every dropship had their own smell, you could tell a great deal from that smell. From the smell of this dropship, it had been used hard a few times, but maintained well. He could smell the musk of battles past, of soldiers apprehension at dropping, fear of first combat and of the relief they always felt when lifting off again. There was very little death attached, from what he could smell. That was always a good sign.

Kado ran one last quick check of his Hekler'Kok R-2 Assault rifle, he always felt partial to slugthrowers. People underestimated them, in his experience. The rifle checked out, he ran the bolt, ejecting one round and slotting in another, then ejected the magazine and replaced the slug there before sliding the magazine home. The red light indicator lit up in the ceiling of the cabin, Kado pulled his helmets visor down and activated the heads up display. He synced the rifle to the armors PAN and saw the ammunition icon validate that he had a full magazine in the rifle. He took a deep breath and waited.

As always, however, the wait felt longer than it was. In a few moments the dropship hit dirt and the troop bay opened up. Kado followed the soldier in front of him out of the bay and onto the dirt. Kado turned slightly to the right and sprinted for twenty meters before he slid to a stop and went prone on the ground, scanning his assigned portion of the perimeter. No sign of anyone or anything, yet.

"Sector Aurek-One-One is clear of hostile forces." Kado reported in over the Vanguards network. As an unbloodied he was the low man on the pole in the organization, but he knew his craft and would prove himself worthy.

Lurcano Car'dann

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Location: Vanguard Dropship
Objective: Hunt Down Target
Post: [1/20]

Lurcano reminisced about the good old days as he took some more swigs of his Corellian liquor. It had been gifted to him by a friend he used to know, Tmoxin. She'd been the former Sgt-At-Arms of the Ravens before she'd left and he'd eventually taken over. They'd established a pretty good relationship in the short time that they'd known each other, and the liquor had been a gift after their first and only successful mission together. He was dressed in the armor he usually wore, and was ready for combat.

Lurcano was seated towards the front of the ship. He knew little of his fellow compatriots, and he didn't particularly care to get to know any of them for that matter. He had joined this organization to make a little money on the side and get some more combat experience that the Red Ravens simply didn't offer. He wasn't here to make friends. As the pilots voice buzzed in through the intercom speakers in the ship, reporting that they were about to touch down, Lurcano donned his helmet which had previously lain on the floor to his side, and check his weapons to make sure everything was in its proper place.

His most important and most valued possessions were at his sides. His two Tehk'la blades, capable even of piercing through light Durasteel plating. It was the primary reason he had been hired for this mission and Lurcano would take every chance he could to flaunt it. Along with the two Teh'la blades, he carried his two WESTAR 34's, and a Raven Gauss Rifle. Both weapons were complete with various different rounds that he carried in a pack strapped to his side.

Lurcano stood up as he felt their Dropship land on the ground, and he headed towards the bay doors. Once they opened, he was amongst the first to stream out of the ship, his Gauss Rifle in hand. He rushed forward, as various radio chatter came in through his helmet. He was in both the Mandalorian and the Vanguard channels for maximum communication. He dropped to a knee and surveyed the area, though he saw nothing. Suddenly, through the comm link that was in his helmet; he heard something from the Mandalorian channel. He listened quietly until the end of the transmission, before relaying said message to his fellow comrades in the Vanguard.

Lurcano Car'dann: "The ships currently orbiting the planet have spotted signs of life coming in from the East of here. They are approximately 2 clicks away. What are your orders Harbringer?"

Patience was what all these individuals who sought to pursue a criminal whom had done deeds that have affected the millions of lives that live in the Galaxy in harsh, drastic way. Causing havoc against countless communities only led up to one problem to a next. The economy would be affected, the way of life would be affected, and everything that helped the public welfare would be, eventually, harmed. And criminals like these required law enforcement agencies affiliated with the government to stop them at all cost in order to preserve the peace and living of the citizens. Of course, taxes would begin to increase to equip police officers with standard technology just to combat outlaws and insurgents that were breaking the laws created to keep everyone in line. But there was an alternative. Bounty Hunters. Men and women making a living that only required weapons and physical skills to hunt down specific targets and bring them back to their employers whether dead or alive.

And this hunt had truly begun. Throughout the wild, untamed life of Gallos the raiders' location was pinpointed after time had passed while Anija scanned the floor of the planet, looking for the man responsible of all the damage they've done. If there were large signs of Trandoshans and Barabels, then the chances were high for their prey to be among them. Plotting the courses of the information from the Field Marshal the Rally Master spoke to her via comm link, “Appreciate it, Anija. We'll ping you whenever we need you." Turning the ship towards the east the Redneck flew in a straight direction until he had covered up two kilometers as Anija said.

“Jonas, the Redneck said to the Quartermaster of the Vanguard via comm link, “I have the coordinates of the target which I'm sending to ya. Alert your Vanguard. You can get there by the tunnels or fly over there. Happy Hunting and enjoy." Nothing else would be said as he gave the coordinates of Raiders' base. “Vode, get ready. Sooner we're gonna lit things up."

Ijaat noticed the wookie. After all, how could one NOT notice something like that clanging and clanking about on the launch bay. Smiling the man walked over and patted about as high on the shin of the walker as he could reach and pointed to the loading ship. His power armor made the pat reverberate even the impressive walker, and a whine of servos accompanied each gesture as he nodded up to the young wookie. This was an unexpected boon. Wookies were naturally impressive in strength and endurance, and shoving one into a walker such as this would be an incalculable boost to his operations if they could take orders well. The Rally Master spoke then, the face plate of his armor opening fully to show a grin that twinkled in his eyes.

'Now, walk that thing over to the shuttle and get it in there... We'll need you down in the mines to help widen tunnels and clear them, and when we reach proper depth, get some samples. Every scratch on my shuttle means you owe me a bottle of tihaar for it...'

Done speaking to the wookie, the Mandalorian smith turned to Kezeroth. The grin faded, but it was not a harsh look that the weathered face bore, rather guarded and curious. Everyone by now knew of the being before him. And Ijaat still had trouble trusting in anyone that was 'former' Sith. To be quite to the point, he wasn't entirely sure he believed any dark-sided Jedi was any good to anyone. Much less that one could go from a being such as Kezeroth was to a Mandalorian in truth. Such violence and horrors were heaped before the feet of the Gen'daii that it was as bad or worse than the lives Ijaat had taken over the years. In his mind, it was worse, because at least Ijaat had tried to justify his reasons morally.

"No offense, but it's probably best you stay very, very close to me. I'll welcome the help, but i'm not sure I exactly trust you, not yet... You understand, i'm sure?"

With that said and done, Ijaat turned and motioned for both to follow him into the hauler as he clanked into the shuttle.

Jonas quickly recieved the information needed to find the target. Once he had taken int he information, he would relay it to the other Vanguard.

"Vanguard. We're looking for a man named Horthek Jaravos. He's gonna have some serious muscle with him so be at the ready. We land in 5. Kick ass and take names. Jonas out."

The squadron of gunships would glide to the west towards the coordinates given to him by some Mando. The Vanguard were more than ready to deal with whatever threat this cutthroat would send their way. One of the simpler jobs the Vanguard have had to deal with.

Grozurra looked at the tiny shuttle on the other side of the platform and sighed deeply. There was no way he'd be able to crunch the huge walker into the shuttle's tiny cargo area without crushing or otherwise breaking something. And this particular wookiee had no intention of owing anyone a bottle of Tihaar when he could just drink it himself.

Spurred on by the thought of rewarding himself with a few bottles of Tihaar after his job was done, Grozurra smirked slightly and decided to try something a little less conventional. Pressing a few buttons, moving the joysticks ever so slightly, and making a few small adjustments with the peddles... Grozurra squatted the walker as low as it would go. The arms of the walker tucked in as tight as he could get them. The legs were as close together as possible. And beneath the blank visor of his helmet, the wookiee closed his eyes. He reached out through the force, feeling his body, his furr, and the familiar embrace of his armor. Grozurra extended his senses beyond himself, reaching out to the metal monstrosity that he sat within. Grozurra focused on the machine... he focused on the weight and feel of it. His senses extended to every nut and bolt and wire of it. And slowly, ever so slowly, Grozurra envisioned himself behind the machine, pushing it with his own two arms. He envisioned himself pushing the crunched up walker into the shuttles cargo bay. Slowly, ever so slowly, he moved his arms in unison with this mental image and saw within the force the vehicle being moved forward.

The sound of screeching metal on concrete grated the ears of all nearby as the massive machine slid several meters forward across the landing pad, only to catch at the last moment and topple violently onto its own face.

In an attempt to keep with everything else, she followed the power suited.... Mandalorian? Vanguardian? with the mining equipment and the AT-MP onto the shuttle. It was at that moment she remembered the com device that had been crackling in one of her belt pouches for at least ten minutes now, and made an effort to use the thing. Oh! So that was what was going on! That cleared up a lot of things. So they were trying to find someone and kill them? Or at least detain them if nothing else. Liona could do that. In fact, she was pretty good with that.

Something tickled the back of her head and she snapped it up, purple hair flailing in the motion. There was an impressively loud SLAM a moment later from outside the shuttle. Liona leaned out the docking bay to survey the damage. The mining vehicle, in a display of splendid grace and maneuverability, had fallen face first into the launch pad, as though it's driver had decided that the best course of action was to try to make it skip. She stared at it for a few moments in complete silence, as if mourning the fallen mining vehicle.

It lasted roughly five seconds.

The smuggler doubled over in a fit of laughter, holding onto the shuttle's hull for support.

Without a doubt, their adversaries who had affiliated themselves with this wanted outlaw for many, many crimes against the laws of society that kept its citizens and residents in a formal matter that made the wheels and clogs work. And by the dossier given to multiple Bounty Hunters who dared to venture out, and either capture or kill this fugitive and send him to the anonymous individual behind this bounty it would take more than one Bounty Hunter to neutralize this target that would promise them credits after completing their assignment and giving a proof of evidence to their client. Unlike other bounties he had sought out for pay by himself the Rally Master had come with other Mandalorian Bounty Hunters, and even more by the unexpected arrival of the Vanguard that could match against the numbers of their common target.

Soaring through the skies in a constant acceleration which in turn increased the velocity the Mandalorian was close to the coordinates that were given to him by Anija. And by the rate of the speed he traveled he estimated in 8-10 minutes he would come and stop to where he was suppose to be in this section of Gallos. And as stated by the Field Marshal there would be more to walk on the journey as their prey would be below the surface and have his men fight any intruders that would seem to be a threat and be after their boss. It would be no surprise to encounter any Trandoshan and Barabel hostiles on the surface guarding the passage to the tunnels.

Suddenly, a wave a dozen of rocket launchers began to ascend from the grounds and into the skies as they had one target in mind. “Son of a gun," the Warrior said in response of seeing the many rockets flying in the sky as they were locked on to the signature of the Teganaalir freighter. The repeating laser cannons of the freighter began to spew lasers at some of the approaching rockets. Few of the lasers had found its mark as five of the twelve rockets were destroyed in mid air before it could directly hit the vessel. Though, the other rockets that still survived from the rapid fire of the Vilaz's ship continued to pursue its target causing the Rally Master to retreat and having seven rockets out to destroy his spacecraft. But he learned that there were beings occupying his landing due to the missiles seeking for its target.

"Alright Vod, take a squad and secure an LZ for the heavy equipment to come down in." Said the deck chief for the section of deck Taenor's drop pod was assigned to. He and several other younger warriors were suited up and armed. They had been waiting for just these orders.

"Jiila, Vod!" Taenor responded. He turned to his small squad and nodded to them. That simple confirmation of the order was all they needed, and soon they were all strapped in to their drop pods. Their pods sealed with hisses of air as they were made vacuum sealed. Taenor's HUD came up, the left side showing a reading of each of his vod's vitals, the right side showing that he was on the squad channel and various icons lining the top and bottoms showing him ammunition for each of his weapons and amount of damage his armor had taken. He had just gone through a check of each of the readings when the pod was shot toward the ground at high velocity.

Some people clenched their bodies against the gee forces, trying to physically resist physics. Taenor knew better than to do that, through an effort of will he kept himself relaxed and focused. The gee forces pulled at his body, but the cushioned interior of the pod wouldn't let him move independent of the pod. Turbulence heralded their entry into the atmosphere, a few moments of being jostled violently before he felt the vertigo of free fall. They were well into the gravity well now, the trajectory of their shot coupled with gravity had them moving faster than the speed of sound toward a medium sized clearing near the entrance to the mine.

All of a sudden, the thrusters attached to the bottom of the pod shoved Taenor hard toward the top of the pod, though he didn't actually move. The thrusters slowed his descent just enough to not let him die when the pod impacted the ground. The sides of the pod fell open, the soft soil of the clearing allowed for a smaller crater, which allowed the side of the pod to bridge the small gap easily. Taenor pulled the Bwatha from his back and flipped the selector to burst mode and he moved away from the pod and into the first ring of trees around the clearing and knelt.

"Landing squad to Rock cutters. Your LZ is clear." Taenor reported over the frequency reserved for this part of the mission to Gallos. His squad had met no resistance as of yet, which was part of the beauty of drop pods. You came in where the enemy least expected it and far faster than they would ever want. His troops were in place to support each other with a nice amount of cover to all sides. Even if someone tried to get to the clearing, they would trip Taenor's net and his warriors would pound them down.

Minutes passed into hours, and Anija continued to monitor the comm channels. The mining was proceeding well, and the bounty group was getting ever closer to their objective. The chatter over the comms from their direction was somewhat excited. Occasionally, she got some interference from the sheer amount of rock between them and her. That was to be expected. Slowly, she looked over the sensors again, keeping a watchful eye on the airspace surrounding the LZ and the area where the bounty crew was.

As she was watching the scanners, a rather insistent alarm began beeping in her ear. A quick glance down at the tactical repeater caused her mouth to go dry for a moment. From the location of the bounty, four red dots spawned, and angled up towards orbit... and towards her. She swallowed. How had they known? Taking a deep breath, she tried to keep focused. The scans... she's been running active scans, not passive, and they'd been able to pinpoint her location that way. She stared at the grouping of red dots on the repeater and sighed, pulling the Pathfinder up to a slightly higher orbit. She should be able to fight hem off, depending on the skill of the pilots...

Hello Mandalorians and Co, I represent the Jackals we've been asked to give PC opposition by a one [member="Vilaz Munin"], we look forward to the event and may there be many like it in the future.

Stepping into view he began to take shape, a slender cylindrical mass of durasteel and the odd wire. A mask in the shape of the Jackals insignia could be seen, its hands crunching together into fist with a metallic 'pop'. "Greetings Horthek." it was a pause and hot wet tangible steam rose up and out of the grated voice modulator. "You're in trouble, and that's why you called us." his pointed finger's running circles over the adjacent walls creating intricate scratch marks. It was with that the doors swung open, amd a group of man or things they varied from being to being. "My men are ready to see you safe, just make sure you pay us when it's done, otherwise we'll collect your bounty." he addressed Horthek Jaravos.

"Cadan, take Thraxis and Tiali. Try and keep the turrets and the rest of the anti-aerial equipment firing. The rest of you on me, we'll stay towards the back till they land, and than we'll rush them." he addressed his crew, before leaving Horthek Jaravos.
