Invasion The Reckoning [Invasion of Empress Teta: Mandalorians vs One Sith]

Gilamar Skirata

The most important step is always the next one
Location: Just above the City
Objective: Capture Ordo
Enemies: The One Sith [member="Ordo"]
Allies: The Mando'ade
Music Choice: Treachery

The old man shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his gaze locked on the man he thought of as a son at one point in time. He still did. Even his Bes'uliik shuddered at the thought of fighting this man. Sighing his head hung as he gripped the controls with one hand, his spear in the other.

<Ordo...You know I can't do that.> The beast shifted in the air as the winds died down. <You know I can't just turn around. You say we should have acted, well we are acting now, to stop the Sith. They are more of a threat than the Republic ever was! You know that!>

It was clear that words would not be reaching his vod this day. He sucked his teeth, twirling the retracted spear in the palm of his hand, extending it to its full length. <Ordo, come quietly so you can pay your respects to Monroe. Don't make me strike you down here!>

Jaden's own HUD was not sensitive enough to pick up such a primitive weapon as an arrow...But the Iron beast he rode was incredibly sensitive. Shifting its armored wing to deflect the harmless projectile brought the man's attention to the lone woman. The commandos around him turned to draw their weapons on the woman.

"Contact!" one of them yelled, his Coruscanti accent thick. Had she seen the Bral cloak? Regardless they were compromised if they didn't take her out or at least capture her.

The beast wasted no time and rushed to meet her. "Hold!!" he shouted, the beast skidding to a stop. "Find a different location...She probably isn't much use without the Force anyways." he muttered, his visor staring into the eyes of the warrior that stood before him and his mighty beast.

Location - outside the city
Allies - One Sith
Enemies - Mandos
Objective - Enter the city.

This was it.

The time has come for us to enter the city. And we will not be stopped.

Taking up my shotgun in both hands, I pulled on tue slide, the chuck chuck sound drowned out by the roars of Vong, men, and Graug alike. I walked forward as did the others to the war drums.

BOOM... BOOM... BOOM... BOOM!

The sound of thousands if not millions of men marching along with war drums would smother all other sound. The powerful blows of the drum sticks could be heard as they were vein slammed so hard that a chours would break. Sounding almost like bones snapping beneath my feet.

Marching forward, I look to see the Commander of this entire opperation. [member="Tsavong Kraal"], a beastly standing being that would make Null seem like children. Walking to be a little bit faster, I moved my way forward to be close to the front. Where here is now that the One Sith shall make a stand against the Mandalorians.

BOOM!

Here is where we will fight.

BOOM!

And here is where we will thrive.

(OOC: Anyone up for a fight? Come on please! You will make me all sad inside. :( )

After claiming that she had found the Bral, Daella pulled out a holomap and quickly pin pointed the approximate location of the vehicle. She observed where Sith Troops were positioned and found a group that was likely to make a mad rush for the Bral.

Calling for a Sith commander, Daella was quickly brought a secure holocomm. She picked it up and made the order.

The coordinates of where Daella had assumed the Bral to be were sent out to all Sith Troopers on the battlefield. It would take them to the Ysalamiri filled Bral with certainty.

Turning to the Sith Commander, Daella then said, “Prepare a tactical airstrike.

The apprentice to [member="Darth Veles"], nothing more and nothing less, was all that could be surmised of Silara Vantai through the various associations within the One Sith. While this was somewhat true, she was also a member of a smaller faction that remained neutral in this conflict, or claimed to be. From the various rumors within the Shadow Empire, of which she belonged as a senior councilwoman, Silara had learned to expect two of the bu'hera Mando on the battlefield, if not more, from the same faction with the same degree of leadership as her within the group. It was this very knowledge, compounded upon her true loyalties, that she decided to enter the fray, to ensure their deaths and gain further control within their small group. Perhaps it was petty, and maybe it was, but power was power, and she saw the potential within the group to own a vast mining company on their speck of a hidden planet and their eventual military might. If not for her own personal gain, which she was certainly with them for, then Silara was certainly after removing any voices of protest against the One Sith from their ranks, and if that meant eliminating them in battle, then all the better. Especially when covered by the cloud of war, far from the prying eyes of [member="Romeo Sin"].

It was while she stood leaning against a building at the corner of a street and alleyway that she heard a rather loud explosion go off nearby, causing a small grin to creep up on her face, one which did not suit someone of her beauty and portrayed refinement. "That must be Master." Thought the human-mix as she recalled seeing him nearby before the troops of Mando had arrived. A native speaker, part Mandalorian actually, Silara could not help but snicker at the sound of shouting in Mando'a. It was highly ironic to her, being a Mandalorian on the side of the Sith and fighting her own distant relatives, people whom perhaps could recall her mother's name if she spoke it to one. But it didn't matter, really. She'd learned of their sort of malevolence at a ripe age when her parents abused her, prompting their deaths as soon as she drew up the courage. A sly smile lighting up her features, the teen walked out from the shadowed alleyway, running towards a crawling Mandalorian whom seemed to be greatly injured by the blast, and perhaps the only one who had truly survived it as she looked around, counting about ten or so that were either dead, or going to be dead from the looks of their injuries. "Narir va o'er, vod, Ni malyasa'yr bruk gar teh ibic aaray." Silara said soothingly, raising her right hand in a gesture of peace with an extremely convincing expression of worry and fright. The injured Mandalorian seemed to be unable to do much else, other than groan really, and rolled onto his side, still quite a ways away from his blaster rifle that was by the wall near where she was standing minutes before.

"A'oatr! A olan vor'e." The Mandalorian replied with a groan, to which her expression became a heart-felt smile that matched his compliment to her. Getting down to her knees beside the warrior, she placed her left hand on the man's arm gently and let out a brief sigh as her right hand removed something from her hip. In an instant a loud humming could be heard as an icy-blue blade protruded from the throat of the Mandalorian while she smiled and her expression twisted into a truly cruel and corrupted one. "If I am an Angel, it is that of Death." Laughed the blonde, rising up from the ground and partially decapitating the dead man as she rose.

Sawa was still spinning, still moving and slowly her body adjusted spinning around and her eyes were searching. Reaching with the force and she brought the shaping of the air into her hands and pushed up higher. Jets of flame sparking and burning to sending her faster towards the outskirts of the grounds. She was getting away from that large bubble that had formed where the masters were searching. Sawa dropped down and grabbed one of the men as she brought a hand around and bent the durasteel armor. The mandalorian clan skins not as strong as their leaders while her mouth clamped down and she started to feed to regain her strength.

Ordo didn't lower his gaze, nor did he move at all. He simply waited like a mountain waits out a storm. His hand tightened around the haft of his axe as he listened to Gil speak.

"You are acting against me, Gilamar." He said, "No one prays for peace more than a man of war. I can help them be truely at peace. Why won't you join me...wouldn't Silvia want peace for you and your daughter?"

Ordo began to power up the droid's weapons as he waited for the answer but with a mighty roar his droid raced forward and his axe was held out to his right. The droid closed with Gil and Ordo rolled the droid to swing his long handled axe at Gil's head.

"Oh I'm sorry cyar'ika, did that hurt?" she muttered as those glowing eyes swung in her direction. Ava lifted her cheek from the gun eye narrowing as the vong wench threw something her way. It was only when they were within good visual range that she could react. "Feth!" she threw herself back, abandoning her sniper where it was , her back hitting the floor as she yanked the ripper pistols from their holsters.

The first three disappeared under precision shots, a fourth fell straight for her face. Rolling away it slammed into the floor, wedging itself into the floorboards. Smirking she shot it where it stuck and made to holster her pistols when a hiss caught her ears. She'd no time to react as the razor bug grazed past her cheek, opening a wide gash. It got less than three meters from her before it was pulverized.

Holstering the pistols she scooped up the sniper rifle once more. Her brothers were moving to higher ground. Standing on the window ledge she jumped out activating her jetpack and lowering herself to a building roof opposite [member="Preliat Mantis"]. Down onto one knee again, she brought the rifle up and lined the vong queen up in her sights once more. She fired two round, chest and head again, but this time she didn't wait to get a response. Those tentacle things were to close for comfort. Slinging the rifle over her back, she pulled the pistols free again and set to clearing herself a safe zone.

Plowing through the city was slow going, but relatively easy for the sturdy AT-AW walkers Orin and his guard had commandeered. Sure, they lacked shock absorbers to make direct hits more comfortable, but at least they survived them. So on the walkers stomped, stopping only when something needed obliterated.

A path of destruction followed in their wake, making them easy to follow. That was why Orin had place Kir on flank watch duty. Every so often, a small squad of Mandalorians would rock up with a shoulder mounted missile launcher and attempt to do some damage but, alas, they were no match for a precise proton canon shot. If they managed to get the jump on them, though, it could be a different story...

"Local transmission incoming," a crewman spurted, almost surprised to hear friendlies in the area. "Patching it through." The soft resonance of a woman's voice flooded the control room, only to lose any attractive qualities when she introduced herself. There was just something about Sith Lords that was extremely un-sexy. Regardless of Orin's opinion on her and her voice, she did just order him to destroy the Bral.

Then again, Orin only took orders from one person in the Galaxy. That one person was Lady Mierin. So, he took Daella's order as simple advice, ordering one of his crewmen to input the co-ordinates and begin heading in that direction. After which, he opened a comm channel with his Guardsmen.

"This is Commander Orin. We're changing course. Darth Junra has located the Bral, a priority target, and we are going to destroy it."

The Massive AT-AW moved quickly, it rushed forward, its huge legs carrying it at max speeds. It moved quickly, surprisingly so for what it actually was. The lumbering titan didn't stop firing its weapons either. Every few steps the Proton Cannon would go off, every few steps its anti-personnel cannons would fire and take out a patch of enemy soldiers.

The Red Guard moved forward at great speed, their walkers rushing towards the Bral.

It didn't take long, @Daella Apparines coordinates were spot on, almost to the letter. Though an airstrike had been prepared, it wouldn't be necessary. The AT-AW moved quickly, lumbering to place until finally on its HUD Orin would see they had found the correct coordinates.

The Royal Guardsmen pressed one of the keys at his side. The controls for his weapon slid away, and quickly he crawled out of his seat and into the turret. He pushed the Royal Guardsmen there out of the way, taking his place.

“I got this one Johnny.” Putting himself into the seat, Kir aimed the turret towards the coordinates they had recieved for the Bral. The massive Proton Cannon aimed towards the armored carrier or the direction they hoped it was in, and then fired.

Mierin waited for a few moments, something flashed. She felt the loss of the force, she felt the feeling of power fade away, and then she once again felt it come back to her. She shrugged slightly, looking to Carach with an inquisitive look before walking down the street.

“How odd these Mandalorians are.” Mierin said as another one of the soldiers rushed towards her. She picked up a broken piece of rebar and pressed it through the Mandalorians throat, moving faster than the naked eye could actually see. That was the benefit of being a Sith, power training, and strength above all, even well trained Warriors. “They fight and they fight, yet they never see the inevitable.”

She turned to Carach, surely even he saw it.

“Will they relent?” Mierin mused to herself as another one of the men rushed at her, this one not wearing one of the Ysalimiri packs. She grasped his neck with the force, then twisted. A sickening crack resounded, and the Sith Lord kept moving towards the city center.

They killed hundrds in their path.

The onslaught of creatures, seemed to not enrage Preliat, but bring him glee. Finally, the fight was actually on. The four-meter long tentacle beasts came charging at him, climbing up the buildings or through the staircases. Being that each blast of the standard Z-6 jetpack brought the Mando'ade 70 meters into the air, the four meter long beasts brought them little problem. Their powerful blasters and slugthrowers, the M45 and the Gladiator rifle, along with the other Mandalorian weapons, such as the River gun or the Vornskr shotguns, quickly put down the basic and slightly inept creatures.

Preliat, however, became the center of attention as the creatures managed to climb up to the building. He ordered his men to get to the edge, and let the beasts come to them. They did so, abandoning their emplaced positions for the time being, so the Vong and Sith on the ground could perhaps breathe for a few seconds more. Preliat turned his wrists outwards when the Implanters came. And set forth the napalm. Sweeping arcs of napalm-infused flames sprout from his wrist-mounted flamethrowers, coating the Implanters in a burning, awful fire.

And then a jar of dirt and other nastiness hit him- but that was just more of an agitation and 'oh gross' kind of moment, but HOW DARE THEY.

And then, the Umrach. As the creatures that had made their way to the top of the roof had been pushed back, Preliat ordered his men to stand down as the Umrach came close to him. So, he took out his Beskar Tomahawk, laid his rifle down, and held the weapon in his left hand, and removed the heavy Beskad with his right. And then, the tentacles shot out at him. It took a slight step to the right, and an upwards arc to bring one of them flying to the ground, removed from it's owner. The monster recoiled, and Preliat watched it writhe in pain.

"Look at this, men. The Vong are weak. They claim dominance and power, but rely on creatures and bugs and beasts to fight their battles for them rather than their own resolve."

Another tentacle shot forth, but Preliat let it attach to his chest armor. He smiled at it, before slicing another tentacle off with his Beskad. The creature recoiled again, as it stepped closer to the edge of the building. Preliat stalked forward, dodging and avoiding the tentacles. Slicing apart with his Beskad any appendage that came forth. It grew desperate, trying to kill him. Preliat leapt into the air, and jabbed his Beskad into it's face, wounding it. It stumbled closer to the edge, and Preliat stepped forward.

Pivoting on his right foot, and brought his Tomahawk across his chest, before the momentum exploded across the creature's face. It broke apart shortly after, it's skull and muscular structure unable to withstand the powerful blow. The creature was promptly flung from the building, crushing a few rats in the process.

He waved his hand across, before barking into his communicator to [member="Olivia Dem'adas"]."Any word on that shield?"

Hundreds was an understatement, they kept coming and we kept killing them. It was a cycle in some way, a cycle of rebirth as the blood streamed through the open streets of Cinnagar. They had come here to… what? Liberate it? No liberation had been necessary, Sith rule was stable and to a decent degree even fair.

Stability and peace, those were the key words of the Sith and the Barbarian Horde wished to undo all of that. They wished to bring down the evolution of civilization itself, but such things were not easily done. As they screamed, the message was clear, we wished to keep our vacation mandalorian-free.

At least for now.

My eye caught something, at first I wasn’t entirely sure what I was seeing. Didn’t take long before I did though… a freaking gigantic worm, ridden by a… hmm. Seemed like a vong and a big, sentient rat. They were being assaulted though, by a group of Mandalorians on the roof.

‘Mierin. There seems to be a big worm in the middle of the city, carrying a few of our… allies. I think it would be prudent to kill those mongrels attacking them.’

And so they started walking, making sure to end up behind the building the Mandos were standing on. To climb it and surprise them in the back. This was going to be interesting

Well this was interesting. Two Sith Lords walking up the stairs slowly towards Mandalorians so they could kill them. It was interesting, especially since two of their allies were apparently riding a giant worm.

Well, the Hrosha-Gul had their tactics, and the Sith had theirs.

Eventually they wandered to the top of the building. Were they normal people, they would likely be out of breath. Thankfully the force sustained them, and slowly as they reached the top of the building Mierin halted Carach for a few seconds. She looked about the small roof top hut that held the Staircase, observing for a second until she found what she was looking for. She wandered over to a nearby pillow, then struck through it.

She tore the concrete into pieces, grasping the metal rebar within and pulling it free. A one meter length of durasteel was torn free and she smiled. “Lets go.”

Walking out into the roof the Sith Pureblood almost immediately spotted a tree of Mandalorains. Her eyes shone slightly, and she let loose with the force. Ripping a piece of duracrete free from roof Mierin tossed it at [member="Preliat Mantis"], enough to cause significant blunt force trauma.

Preliat's helmet detected a fast moving object. Very fast. So, Preliat decided to move. But then, it struck him. Straight across his armored arm, as he turned. He was too late, as the concrete smashed into his massive frame, it splintered along the Beskar'kandar. It hurt. A lot. But the armor was thick, and his resolve strong. But that didn't negate the pain or the physics. His men raised their weapons as the Sith came into view, and the two Sith Lords were facing about a company of men armed with Slugthrowers that could rip them to pieces. Preliat stood, proud, and stared at the two. His armor was of a more archaic design, similar to that of the original Mandalorians. It set him apart, a heavily armored single headpiece with a heavy shawl around his neck.

He didn't move for a while, but put up his hands.

"They came to fight me. Suppress the Vong."

They did so without question, and they began to pepper the Vong troops below with heavy blaster fire and rifle rounds. Grenadiers started to wreak Havoc, as the last of the men in his company began to scatter along the rooftops, locking them down. Emplaced machine guns and turrets started back up, the crews obliterating the area. Fish in a barrel. Preliat stared at the two Sith Lords, and curled his crushgaunt adorned fists. He set his Beskar tomahawk back into the sheath on his arm, before gently laying his Beskad down on the ground. He looked to one of his men, and held his hand out. One of the Mandalorians threw him his Bevii'ragir, and he stared at the two Sith.

"I won't have them shoot you down. This is our fight."

The man in the most protective suit of armor that the Mandalorians could muster, stood before the two Sith, his spear in his hands. Though he had planned on a different use than just stabbing with it.

"I know you Sith like to fight."

He slammed the counterweight of the spear into the ground.

"So come and fight me."

At his response I simply tilted my head slightly, and then replied.

‘Possible, yet inefficient.’

I liked doing things subtly, get into someone’s head without them actually realizing it. Slipping through the cracks and playing havoc with their perceptions and all that poodoo, wouldn’t work here though. Preliat already knew we were here, was wholly focused on us and probably would be wary of anything I would try to throw at him in a subtle way.

So I didn’t play it subtly.

Instead I directed a mental attack at Preliat, my mind against his. His barriers would have to go first, so I set on ripping them apart, which would be... fairly painful to say the least.

“Inefficient indeed.” Mierin said as she leveled the piece of rebar or a second, and then shot it forward with the force.

The piece of metal flew faster than the eye could perceive. It wasn't really aimed anywhere in particular on Preliat's body, but more in general shot towards his torso. Much like the piece of concrete before it the make-shift spear wasn't meant to pierce his armor or stab through him, rather it was created to cause extreme amounts of blunt force trauma. At the rate she shot it, the piece of Durasteel would likely cause enough damage to cause internal bleeding.

As soon as the spear was away however, Mierins eyes flashed golden.

She expected a counter-attack, if not from the one Mandalorian, then the other. A bright red bubble appeared around herself and Carach. Translucent but still hazy red. The shield formed around them in an instant, waving and shimmering.

--------------------------------

Metus stood next to his master and his fellow apprentice overlooking the chaos that was the battle below, the dark red robe and hood he wore flapping in the wind as the various sounds of the battle rose to his ears. The apprentice could sense the emotions of those who fought and died below, their cries of anger and anguish like music in his ears while the smell of smoke, weapon fire, and death teased his senses. This was a place worthy of Sith to fight and die in, and the overwhelming sensation of it all reminded Metus of the thrill in a good fight with something on the line. His minor squabbles on the lower levels of Coruscant were nothing but a minor speck compared to this, and the anticipation to join in the revelry was almost too much to bear. This would be a glorious day for the order, and more importantly for him.

It was the words of his comrade that made the eager student snap back into reality, turning to face his master silently with red eyes as he waited for the eventual order to go forth and kill or be killed. The things he had seen as a member of the Sith was the stuff of nightmares, which haunted Metus in the beginning when he was nothing more than a pathetic insect to be either noticed or ignored, but now he was ready to both experience the horror for himself and to spread it to others as well. Once the master said the words...it would be time to descend into the madness that was this battle, and turn it into their playground.

It was time to indulge in the pleasures of war against a worthy enemy.
