She didn't give him time.

There was never time when one fought Mierin. As soon as the boulder popped up, Mierin pressed with the force. One rock flew at his knee, a thousand others at his face, arms, torso, everywhere. The trapdoor on her palm opened, and a serpent slipped onto the ground. At the same time her other hand lifted, her palm twisted and a massive spark of lightning jumped from her hand towards him.

It all happened in an instant.

Thousands of pelting rocks, a great spark of lightning, and a slithering unnoticeable serpent moving on the ground.

The rocks pelted him backwards, rips appeared in his robe and bruises started to show everywhere. He almost stumbled, but was able to flash his lightsaber towards the impending Lightning, just barely containing the blunt of it. It had a consequence though, the saber was no longer useful, the crystal burned out.

Yet still, there was light gathering in his hand and Sardun released it now.

The Force was warning him that there was more to come... but as he raised his hand and blasted out a pure manifestation of the Lightside at Mierin... well he had other more pressing concerns.

Simone didn't need telling twice, with a nod she headed for the cover of the temporary base as the rest of the Jedi moved out. The scout droids were painting a pretty picture on the holoprojector. She was interested in two things, the first was the flying woman, a vong that she'd not seen on reports before. A few commands told a couple of the scout droids to focus on her, though they kept their distance, using the fog provided to stay out of sight. This was a new threat and she wanted all the feedback she could get on it.

The second thing that she wanted to know was it there were any working terminals. If there were any terminals still working in the palace, it was possible that there was security camera footage that could help them. If that was the case, Simone would have to go in there. That was not a prospect she was looking forward to. The comm chatter was hard to follow but when Gamma squad's started yelling about Apparine, Simone stopped staring at the projector.

"Eagle five, find that squad!" Simone yelled, a droid tweeted in response before drifting away. It didn't take long to find the trail of corpses and the lone figure standing among them. Simone swore before opening a channel to [member="Kiskla Grayson"]. "Grandmaster, Apparine just took out Gamma squad. Transmitting their location now." The scout droid began emitting a beacon. Likliness was that [member="Darth Junra"] would have spotted to droid by now, but even if the beacon got one signal flash out before she destroyed it, it would be enough to give Master Grayson a trail to find her.

She fell silent for a moment, casting a glance towards her team. "Are any of you combat capable?" There were a lot of shaking heads. "Alright..." she said trying not to sound nervous, though her voice pitch increased a couple of octanes. "Okay, we need to make sure that whatever intel we gather is safe, regardless of whether this equipment is destroyed. Lets get a link set up to transmit everything to the fleet in orbit as we receive it."

"What about after the tech is destroyed. Those droids are still going to transmit but what are they going to transmit to?"

"Me."

The force Light lashed out at her, and pain began to swell within her being, but it was already too late.

The Slithering serpent that had been released from her arm had closed the distance between the two force users in no time at all. The Amphistaff that lived within Mierins arm had made its way behind Jared, and now it pounced. The creature instinctively knew what to do, it knew from Mierins cue what it had to do. The Serpent bounded from the ground, and wrapped itself around Sarduns throat.

Like a constricting snake it move to choke him, become rigid and hard as diamond. It did not bite however, only constricting, choking the breath from him as soon as it touched his skin.

Mierin simply fell to her knee's. The pain was eternal, it was powerful, it was something she had felt before.

A single breath was taken right before the constrictor took hold of Sardun’s neck, that single breath extended itself into infinity with the Jedi Master forcing his body to stay conscious as the depletion of oxygen started to numb his body.

This was no longer about survival, this was about taking a threat to the Galaxy with him to the beyond.

He fell to his knees, and yet managed to keep up the flow of the Lightside against Mierin’s corruption.

It wouldn't hold for long, Force Light... was a powerful tool, but it was also draining to a huge degree. In combination with using Breath Control, soon all would be over.

She couldn't stand it.

The pain, the hurt, it flowed through her. Every fiber of her being felt like it was being burned away. Yet there was a saving grace. She had never been a practitioner of Sith Sorcery, had never learned alchemy or even truly fallen to the darkest of the dark Arts. No, she had held firm in the strength of emotions, or rage, fear, and anger, but she had never once utilized them to fall completely.

Mierin was not the Dark Lord, she was not bathed in the darkside of the force at all times, she was not consumed by hatred and evil like so many others, not completely anyway. As the force light burned through her, she gathered what strength she could.

She flicked her wrist.

Her skill in telekinesis came to light again, and a rock the size of a fist instantly flew towards Sardun's skull. Not enough to kill him, but enough to knock him off balance, break his concentration, and perhaps knock him unconscious.

The rock planted itself firmly in his face, breaking his nose and splattering blood everywhere. His concentration lost, no more brilliant light flowed from his hand.

Breaking into the last of his reserves, Sardun let go of Breath Control. Immediately he felt how far he had pushed himself, yet… he needed more. More time, which wasn’t given to him.

With his last strength he summoned the primal force to both of his hand, green lighting. Electric Judgement casted itself from his hand, and raged at the direction of the Sith Lady.

As soon as the lightning stopped, Mierin reeled. She fell to her backside. She turned towards Sardun and summoned all of her strength. The power of the darkside that had been washed away from her, that had been slowly torn from her body flooded back into her, and as he threw his lightning, Mierins strength returned.

Her cybernetic hand flew up again, its lightweight construction moving faster than the eye could perceive. Her palm placed itself against something, an invisible force within the air.

It grew and bridged around her, a glowing red orb of energy that surrounded the Sith Pureblood and kept her safe, a bubble of the force. Red and green clashed, lightning crackled across the bubble, jumping to the ground around her, cracking rocks in half and scorching the earth. None touched Mierin however, safely nestled inside her little bubble.

But as Michael released his last breath, the amphistaff tightened for a last time.

With his last power wasted the Jedi Master fell back, the amphistaff still choking at him. There was a measure of peace coming over him now, finally the burden would be lifted from his shoulders. Someone else would be able to take on the fight, right?

He wasn’t needed anymore.

Sardun had done his duty.

Of course, the Jedi knew that he was just lying to himself, but for now… it was all that mattered. A stray thought would find its way to Mierin, right before the darkness called him.

‘Good fight, Lady of the Dark. Never forget though… your victories will always be temporary, never will your hold over the Galaxy endure. As Krayt fell… so will you.’

Then… infinity and beyond.

She ignored his words, they were the words of a foolish Jedi after all.

The bubble around her disappeared, and almost immediately one of her Royal Guard came up alongside her. Unnoticed by both Sardun and herself the battle between the Republic and Sith troopers had been raging all around them.

Unsurprisingly, the fight had ended rather one sided. The massive Power Armored Guardsmen had made short work of the Republic troopers, blood stained their massive armor, and corpses of Republic troopers lay strewn about the ruins of the Jedi Temple. A few still lived, captured and pinned to the ground by massive armored men, a dozen or so had ran away when the tide turned, but most were dead. The Guardsmen helped Mierin to her feet, a dainty red hand in a massive glove.

“Secure him.” She ordered to a pair of the guard who wandered over to Sardun, the amphistaff around his neck loosened and slithered up her side, taking its place back in her arm.

The guard quickly followed her orders, placing a pair of force cuffs around Michael's legs and tying his hands behind his back. They placed him in such an awkward position that the use of the force would be quite difficult, if not impossible.

“Take a squad and return him to my ship.” Mierin said to the sergeant nearby. “I want him off this world.”

She paused for a moment. “Keep him stunned.”

The Royal Guardsmen nodded, and then picked Sardun up over his shoulder. Six of the massive power armored figures lumbered off to a nearby shuttle, they would keep the Jedi Mater neatly packed away and constantly stunned and sedated.

The Sith Pureblood on the other hand turned towards the city.

There was still work to be done.

Having made his way behind the enemy lines, Veles waited for the first transport to land and take in the wounded soldiers scattered around the landing zone. Medics and those uninjured tried to stop the injured men from dying until they could be given proper treatment, but nobody could stop their pained moans from leaving the mouths of the wounded.

Kneeling few meters away from them to avoid being bumped into by one of the medics, Veles meditated, his mind and body opened to the Force. The cries were slowly driving him crazy, but the suffering of the wounded provided and excellent source of the Dark Side energy. Feasting on the powerful sensations in his surroundings, the Sith Master felt the energy pouring into his body. While it did not replenish his reserves, it had slowed, if not stopped his Force cloak from draining him further, giving him more time before the need to reveal himself. Sitting still also made bending light almost trivial for someone who had mastered its arts, thus he effectively conserved his energy, ready to move once the Republic came for its wounded.

The sound that indicated an approaching ship soon made it clear the poor troops would be rescued. Opening his large eyes, Veles looked at the descending ship, still patiently waiting for it to land, still drawing energy from the Dark Side. When the transport finally touched the ground and men started pouring out to take the wounded, the amphibian got up and swiftly moved to the ship through the sea of bodies. Occasional bump was hard to avoid in the sea of bodies, but the Republic soldiers have not even registered it, focusing solely on stabilizing the injured troopers and lifting them up to carry them into the ship.

Once inside, the Mon Cal positioned himself close to the door leading to the cockpit and silently waited for the first soldiers to come in. As soon as they moved close to his position, carrying a victim of the war, Veles opened the door to the cockpit with a button, so it appeared one of the medics must have accidentally pushed it when manipulating with the injured man. Slipping inside the cockpit, the Mon Calamari knelt in a corner and continued his meditation, undisturbed by the chaos happening in the other part of the ship. He did note the communication between the pilots and one of the medics outside, saying the ship was full and they were free to take off.

Veles’ lips twisted into a grim smile as he felt the ship started to move… And soon he felt it ascending to the sky before returning to the base.

"There's a lot of wounded coming back..." Her assistant cast a concerned eye towards the inbound shuttles.

"Don't focus on that, focus on this." Simone snapped smacking his arm and drawing his attention back to the upload "The more we can give them the less wounded there will be."

"Simone! Eagle 4 has found a terminal!" Scrambling away from the communications array Simone practically bounced to the holoprojector. Excitement coursed through her, eradicating any fear she initially had. "Oh you, beauty." Snatching up a rucksack she began moving round shoving equipment into it. Field scanners, datapads, her own handheld terminal, holoprojectors to name a few items.

"Upload is complete! Fleet confirms they have everything we've got, we're now transmitting live."

"Good. Alright, stay here and stay alive. This equipment is not the be all and end all, if its sabotaged it doesn't matter. What's important is that we all get out of this alive."

"Stars! you're actually going down there, aren't you?"

Simone pulled an armoured vest on over her clothes and slung her rucksack over her shoulders. "This is madness, Simone!"

"Well, no one ever accused me of being sane." she tested the comms on her wrist. "Eagle 4, transmit your location." The scanner in her hand started to show a blinking light. Trust it to be in the middle of the fight. She looked at her assistant. "Hey, don't worry, I'll be fine. I have a knack for survival against the odds." Patting his arm and flashing him a wide smile she ran off, jumping on the transport heading back down to the landing zone. No doubt she would pass the incoming [member="Darth Veles"] on her way down.

Once they landed, Veles was among the last beings to make their way out of the ship. A brief glance around the base to help his pick the valuable targets revealed the soldiers were not the only ones in there... People who appeared like civilians, wielding weapons. Rebels? Turning his gaze from them, the amber pair of eyes immediately saw the wounded being taken into the field hospital, which might be one of his targets. Without any other place to tend to the wounded other than their ships somewhere in the orbit or other places far away from Aldera, the Republic would have to transport the injured on longer distances. A solid way of giving the Republic some trouble.

A satellite surrounded by a large tent indicated what he wished to destroy was inside, alongside a communication centre or something of the sorts, possibly a command outpost. It did not matter, everything was going to blow up soon. For now, he had to rest and fill himself with energy before setting up the explosives. Both eyes now swivelled independently as he searched for a nice place to hide without fear of being discovered. He paid almost no attention to the tents that served only as barracks for the soldiers, a place to rest filled with beds and nothing else.

The first stop lied elsewhere; the armory. Another fairly large tend, guarded by two heavily armored soldiers. The cybernetic eye zoomed on the dark entrance, its low-light vision mode activated and to the Mon Cal’s pleasant surprise, he spotted many crates and weapons.

Walking past the guards, Veles searched the entire tent before finding himself a nice dark place and finally dropped Force cloak, setting his body on the ground and meditating again. Without feeding the costly Force power, his energy quickly replenished and he bended the light around himself again and left the tent; though not before setting one of the explosives among more explosives and armed it.

Power generator. Command and communications centre. Landing pad. Those were his next targets. Not the hospital though. In the end, he found such action dishonourable, and also knew it would be caught in the series of explosions anyway. Never had he been spotted, but it was still necessary to be careful and find a suitable place to plant the bomb. Somewhere an ordinary person wouldn’t look. When all’s been set and done, he once again boarded the transport ship, this time going for the wounded. His clawed fingers clutched the detonator tightly as he waited for his ship to take off. And then he pressed the button at the end of the small cylinder and felt the ship shake violently, warnings informing the pilots of the shields being shut down by the blast.

The Force was filled with panic, chaos. More energy for him. Rising up, no longer cloaked, the Mon Calamari locked the door leading out of the cockpit and buried both of his lightsabers into the men piloting the ship. Pushing one of the bodies from the seat and taking control over the ship before it crashed, he moved the transport to the left, rotating the ship to take a look at the results. Burning people, dead and alive, burning tents, ammunition still exploding, just as some starship fuel he had not even noticed before… Nothing remained still. Not even the hospital. Having no doubt this was enough to destroy the data feed of his enemies, the Sith Master turned the ship around and headed back Aldera.

She was on the ground before the explosions made the mountains tremble. "Cal," she called into her comm "I'm on the ground." Only the crackle of static responded to her. "Cal? Nick?" She turned to look back up towards the base. Smoke was rising into the sky. A hand closed about her heart and squeezed. Taking a breath she looked around her. Now was not the time to lose her head. She needed to get to the terminal.

Without a weapon she was hardly much of a threat, using the fog for cover, she broke into a run, heading towards the signal Eagle 4 was transmitting. She tried not to look too hard at the bodies she passed, tried not to think about her team. She through about opening communications but what would she say. By the way, I left my post, the relays we set up are out and i'm running round on my own? She thought better of it.

She ducked for cover everything a soldier looked like they were too close, skirted around the larger creatures. Shadow and fog were her friend right now. By the time she reach the scout droid, she was drenched in sweat and trembling from head to toe. "Nice work, eagle four." she said shakily. "Watch my back for me will you." Pulling the front panel off the terminal she assessed the damage. It wasn't as bad as she'd expected, a few fried wires, nothing too dramatic. She set to work re rerouting things and trying to get it online so she could access its records.

She just arrived in a fury, her personal ship was going a major upgrade and being rebuilt. She had platoon with her, so it was not to cramped. She ordered it to land near the mountain palace. As it approached the landing point, she jumped out and made her way to Darth Veles. She wanted to help him in this battle, and she was in full battle armour. Though up graded with a shield system, she hoped the war with the republic would be over soon. They could not be much fight left in them after this battle. It would not be long before she was at his side again.

Behind her came a platoon of sith soldiers, armed and ready. They where skilled and where know become equipped, thanks to house thul being under the thumb.

A new batch of wounded lied around the landing zone, waiting for the rescue in form of impatiently awaited transport shuttle. All heads turned in the direction of one such ship flying to their position, faces twisted by pain and agony watching the Republic transport with so much hope in their eyes. The ship’s altitude started to decrease in descent… not its speed though. It was flying too fast to land safely despite it was about to touch the ground. Dozens of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced as the ship turned everyone in its way into fine paste, making no difference between age, gender, race, sexuality. The brave soldiers of the Republic died as one, their blood and intestines mixed together in a wide line in the ground left behind the ship that ran over several more invaders before stopping.

Its ramp opened, hitting the ground, and allowed its passengers exit the vehicle. The only one to leave on his own was a certain Mon Calamari Sith Master, the others inside the ship remained there, all of them in shock. Either because the landing, or maybe because that once the Sith had emerged from the cockpit and some of them drew their side arms, he simply cut off the barrel of their weapons and left them to their fate.

Walking just a few meters, the amphibian was greeted by a familiar face. Or rather suit of armor he remembered very well from their duel and previous battles.

“Lady Banshee!” he called out in surprise, one of his eyes watching the woman and her men, the other searching for potential threats, “It is a surprise finding you here! How was your day?” Now he focused solely on the battlefield, searching for something.

“Have you seen little droids flying around? Or rather, lying around? I believe I have disabled them when a group of badly trained anti-Sith rebels incautiously manipulated with explosives in the armory in their base and ended up blowing themselves and everyone else around.”

"Deal with the walking slug, aye-aye, Ma'am," came Wells' only response.

The thing was massive and easily towered over the field. The Ranger sucked his teeth for a moment, thinking of a way to combat the creature. He had nothing that would penetrate the armor and to attack the thing with heavy weapons would be hard to do. Half because he had no guarantee that the weapons would penetrate the thing's hide and half because to do that would require heavy weapons nearby when there were none.

"Guts and glory time, I guess," he said with the tired sigh of a soldier given yet another impossible task.

He jogged forward, dodging incoming fire as it came. It was a fair distance and, from the looks of it, here and there were pockets of humanoid creatures. They carried weapons and looked hostile, leading to the belief that they were soldiers, though they were not Vong from what Wells could see.

A quick comm message to one of the platoon commanders behind him gave him what he needed: suppressing fire. Blaster fire arced out into the mass of enemy troops, felling dozens of the creatures. They seemed unfazed, either due to training or lack of intelligence. Perhaps both.

Despite this, a small pocket of open space was left where Wells desired to go. Dodging the occasional enemy warrior and pumping a short burst into the few he couldn't avoid, he managed to get to the cleared space with relative ease. He pulled the grappling hook from his webgear and shot it upwards, towards the Warkeeper's head. He felt it cinch tight and activated the hook's motor, rising up from the ground as the device pulled him towards the thing's mouth.

The things he did for the Republic...

Location: Battlefield
Objective: Fighting Glitter and Sparkle

Stomp.... Stomp. The vibrations came as she saw it, one towering overhead and the sithspawn coming. She could feel the vibrations in the earth and the screeches of it. She couldn't feel hauntruss though the large sith witch wasn't riding her beast but it was here going into Republic soldiers and lines. The Leviathan with its large limbs coming at them and a huge tail, it had her pushing and enjoying the fight, wanting to punch the beast in its face and see how it reacted over just sitting there and looking for another sith master. Then she saw it, a line of sith speeders coming with more Blackblades and Saki was off running.

She charged the speeder line and let loose the weight as the fight began, all around her she could feel other jedi were getting in on the fights with the sith. An amused thought going to her mind for the ones who moaned and bitched her fighting while here and now they were engaging... Just went to show why she didn't lie to herself and act a hypocrite. She fought, she served the light and right now as she was pushing her energies into that pit in her chest the circuit of energy she needed when facing her opponents, that she needed to enjoy the fight and want to revel in victory.

It drove her forward into that speeder as she spun and launched the weight wrapping it around the speeders nose and pulling up as she ground her feet. Planting them with the force and earth shaping to be rooted and firm, the speeder jerking off the ground as she pulled it up and swung it towards the two she could sense in the distance [member="Darth Tsolan"] [member="Alexandra Cinthra"]. The speeder releasing and going off towards them from the chain. She grunted and moved spinning around as another speeder came as her and Saki slammed her hand around grabbing the meta as it gave way under her grip.

Saki shifted letting the weight hang loose while she kept spinning and swung the speeder to bat away another into the air. Her eyes flicking around the area as she got the attentions of the beast, the large leviathan roared while a smaller one charged at her. A small army of sithspawn and vongformed creatures charging while Saki slammed her fists together with a crack. Her eyes were flaring with white energy, she could feel her own crackling along the armor and her skin while she charged the leviathan clenching her fists. She felt it all and as the Leviathan lowered its head to get her Saki pulled back her fist and lunged forward.

The sensation of her fist meeting the thick hided resistance and the following sensation of it giving away as the lower jaw of the beast collapsed inwards. Saki clenched her eyes shut while the sound of screeching could be heard with a shadow going over her vision when her eyes opened. The leviathan was flipping over her and she could feel the jawbone of it under her fist, feel the shattered teeth before grabbing at what was there and pulling it away. The jawbone turning into another club before she threw it at the seconds eyes and punched towards the third giving way to fire shaping and a jet of flame went towards its back.

Contrary to Darth Veles belief, the droids while they had been transmitting to the base, we not controlled by it. They could act independently and would continue to do so. The one hovering above Simone let out a low whine. "Quiet." she hissed at it as she connected her portable computer to the terminal. Simone had sliced her way into the Surpreme Chancellors office, slicing through some damaged firewalls to get hold of security feed was a walk in the park for her.

Soon enough, the download was started. There was still the problem of transmitting the data to the fleet to be dealt with. Casting her eyes over the ruins around her, Simone settled with her back resting against the terminal. Pulling a datapad from the rucksack she ran her eyes over the incoming information from the scattered scouts. It was too much to build a picture from on such a small machine but she could at least get half the idea.
