The Saqqar Is That? [Black Sun Dominion of Saqqar]

...now more than ever seemed to indicate why Ordan needed a lightsaber, Rayl wasn't attuned to the force as far as he knew and the man still used one with what appeared to be a deadly efficiency, it was enough to cause him to make a mental note that maybe once he was off Saqqar he should look into constructing one of his own. Bullying someone also seemed a viable option to actually constructing one of the deadly weapons but now wasn't the time to debate the matter. Grunting when he heard Rayl mention taking the fight to the mutated creature again before charging in with his lightsaber Ordan would follow suit before calling out..."Otherside!"...it was a rallying call meant to illustrate he would see his ally on the otherside if needs be or they would both be dead. No sooner had it left Ordan's mouth than did he fire another volley from the blaster pistol...

...the blaster pistol wouldn't do much more than annoy the monstrosity they were facing down but every shot would count and it would help distract the creature for Rayl. When the other man had lunged in with a flash of his lightsaber and went on the attack Ordan moved in behind him. Ariella wasn't moving very fast so she was his primary objective at the moment. Making ground Ordan came in, aiming with his blaster and reaching with his free hand, he'd take Ariella by the wrist unless she moved on her own and wrenching her towards him he'd start a quick backpedal that saw him dragging her across the floor if no resistance was met and depositing her out of harms way....

...it was a quick in and out...
"On your feet quick girl!"...Ordan barked out, releasing her wrist in the process, before he moved around he and started firing his blaster at the creature again. He didn't expect to wound it but a lucky shot could change the tide for the three of them. Ordan had heard Rayl calling for Wendy as well and he had to hope that she made an appearance soon. Up to now Ordan's applications of the force had been relatively minor, he didn't enjoy relying on the supernatural even if he could manipulate it, however the struggle wasn't getting any easier so...

...his left hand would whip out again, palm open and facing the monstrosity, as he moved to come up alongside Rayl before another burst of concussion force extended from his hand like an invisible tidal wave of force that battered into the mutant. Against a normal opponent it can throw them like a rag doll, maybe even incapacitate them depending on how they landed, it might even break bones if they were thrown into an obstruction. Against this creature there was just no telling though. The Force Push would, however, be potent enough to momentarily crumple the beast again as it struck with a mighty force while Ordan shouted...
"Quick before it can recover!"...best case scenario Rayl could take advantage of any opening he might be able to see while the creature recovered...

Wendy was moving as the two shouted and had the sonic shotgun, she took aim and fired while moving back hearing the snap hiss and hum of the red blade. The smell of them firing was more then enough to keep her aware while she held down the trigger and squeezed again while she was moving back. Her feet planted now before shouting. "Do you have a plan for fighting back against this thing or are we just going to shoot it until it stops moving?"

Rayl broke his engagement from the beast. A saber didn't seem all too effective against is armored hide. It bought time along with Wendy's timely attack to save Ariella though. Which that was accomplished by the intrepid Ordan. "I have a plan. We need to get back into the open room upstairs though. Wendy, can you trace back the way you came"?

The beast wasn't affected as much as Ordan would have hoped. None of them knew this was a Vong beast. They'd all be dammed this day if any of them were bested by some ugly ass creature though. Sun's died with flair, and there was none to be found here.

...the force push hadn't been as effective as Ordan had intended. Luckily between that, Rayl and the arrival of Wendy the creature was still distracted enough that Ordan was able to retrieve Ariella. Right about now he was having second thoughts about this entire venture though looking between both Rayl and Wendy he'd continue to fire his Blaster at the creature which did little beyond annoy it further. Between the volleys of blaster fire being shot at the creature Ordan would've heard Rayl and he whole heatedly agreed..."Anywhere is better than down here. Lets move."...looking at Wendy as he said that it didn't appear as though he planned to waste any time...

...turning around Ordan started to say something before grumbling out...
"Hell with it."...then before she could protest he was bending down, using one of his arms to scoop around her waist, and lifting Ariella up over his shoulder. Not to worry she could protest if she wanted to but Ordan wasn't about to leave her behind and once they'd made it back to the upper levels he shrug her off and out of the way while they all determined a way to deal with their foe once and for all....

...once he had ahold of Ariella his footsteps would take him in the direction that Wendy had come from. Rushing towards the darkness of the corridor as it stretched out ahead he'd have called to the others...
"Lead the way Wendy!"...he sure hoped that she knew her way back to the surface but even if she didn't wherever they were headed would likely be better than where they were at the moment. As he ran Ordan would look back over his shoulder, aim the blaster in his hand ahead and squeeze off another shot that pinged off the chitinous armor of the creature intent on making them its dinner...

Wendy looked at both of them and gave a nod of her head to that, she knew the way back. Quickly Wendy moved turning with her shotgun still raised and squeezing off as she started to run back the way she came and waved her arm for them to come. The magenta blade casting shadows while she kept going scanning and looking for her boot prints that were set in the dust. "Yeah I know the way back come on.... though I do hope your plan is something special, that thing does not look pretty or fun or anything I want to get in my hair."

Rayl wanted to scold Wendy for her lack of faith in their leader. He may have gotten into hopeless situations time and again. Proof he knew how to get out of them were evident by his continuing existence. "Plan is to drop that thing with a Thermal. Its not special, but my saber just tickled it. And unless Popo drops from the sky with a tank, we're betting our chips on it". Adrenalin just kept being produced as he ran with the group. That cramp in his side was making him wish to throw up. Rayl was by no means out of shape, but they'd ran pretty hard. Wendy leading the quartet to the open area where they'd spring the grenade. If it weren't for the tight quarters he'd have blown that things to nothing already. He didn't want to bring the roof down on them, or defiantly kill them with the concussion blast. "How much farther Wendy"?

...Thermal Detonators made the nether regions of Ordan Vosk tingle. In a previous life he'd been known to use explosives for a number of jobs however now he relied on heavy weapons and his vulgar understanding of the force to fulfill the role that explosives used to. As it stood Ordan was entirely onboard with the plan to blow up the mutant that was chasing that four of them though. If nothing else seeing the walls splattered with the gooey insides of the creature would make his heart flutter just a little bit but that wasn't here nor there at the moment. They still needed to get topside...

...consider Ordan's contribution to the current events to simply continuing running, following Wendy's lead back towards the surface through the darkness of the corridors, hauling their unresponsive ally (Ariella) along with him. Running caused Ordan's legs to tense with the movements, the extra weight would eventually lead to a subtle burn starting to fill his lower limbs however his well muscled frame could shoulder the load of a single, average, individual for a time without fatiguing. One look back over his shoulder in the direction of the creature intent on killing all of them would only encourage him to push onwards as well...

Wendy looked at them as she was moving, her hands on the rifle and putting it over her back she spoke. "We are near where I got down here, hope you are ready to climb." She was running and came to an open section while she was moving and jumped letting the force go into her legs as she started climbing up a fiber cord she had come down on. Her feet locking together as she pushed and worked to get herself up faster and faster using the force to speed up her movements. "Come on climb."

[member="Wendy La Fey"] [member="Ordan Vosk"]

He was feeling the burn now. Feeling it bad. The need to live out weighed the want for rest. A healthy dose of fear from being devoured helped too. Wendy's guidance got them back to her entry point. The beast was still on their tail of course, and there was a problem. "You karking climbed down. How are we supposed to get Ariella up"? Rayl's arms raised out to emphasise his point, not that the girl was looking at him for the moment. He didn't want to even think of leaving her behind to this fate. But he was out to lunch for ideas that wouldn't take more than three seconds.

..."Don't worry boss. I've got this."...think of one of those movie scenes that doesn't seem entirely realistic and that would be what Ordan was doing right now. Carrying Ariella over his shoulder he took the fiber cord in one hand while wrapping his forearm around the waist of the woman over his shoulder in the other. By now there was no denying the burn that filled Ordan's limbs but as his fingers wrapped tightly around the fiber cord and he felt it bite into the crevice of his palm the force imbued his muscles with an abnormal amount of strength. Ordan's muscles surged with an abnormal amount of strength as the force channeled itself through his body and looking back at Rayl he'd have said..."Either climb or throw that damn thermal already."...at this point Ordan really didn't care if they got to explore more of the subterranean depths of this complex...

...bonus perk for Ordan as he climbed the fiber wire behind Wendy was that he got to check her out from the bottom up. Oh yeeeeah....

Wendy looked down at him. "I don't know I didn't get knocked out." She said it not sarcastic or mean spirited but the way she had used while climbing. "Strap her to your chest and we'll pull you up when we reach the top." She shrugged moving quickly, one hand over the other and her feet going quickly. Taking in quickly folds the fiber cord as she didn't look down to see if the thing was coming just focused on getting up higher and higher. As Miss Domino would say she didn't have to outrun the beast she'd have to outrun them. NOt th enicest thing but it was enough as she got up to the end of the cord and brought her hand down to help Ordan while looking quickly.

Ordan's strength surprised him. No way could Rayl pull up that much weight without help in some way. He was a Force user though. Rayl wasted no time in clambering up after muscles rescued the princess. Being the last he wasn't able to make it up before the monster was beneath him. The damn thing actually ran right into his legs. Its face got booted and teeth were only inches from getting hold of him. Rayl panicked a little, moving as fast as he could to escape. Using it like a springboard, he escaped like a mustachioed hero's brother to freedom. "Strap her to my chest eh? Did it look like we had time, or the equipment"? Half of Rayl's face was covered up by his hood but it was quite distraught.

The monster hissed and clawed vying to climb up itself to get it's snacks. It didn't look like it could lift its own weight though. They could of let it live but why let it. Not after all that. "Lets finish this". Rayl retrieved the thermal detonator from one of his hidden pockets. He thumbed over the trigger but held off. "Ordan, I think for all the weight lifting you deserve the honor of blowing this thing up". He held the grenade at arms length towards him.

The noise also attracted the attention of the rest of the survey team. With all of them running over to help, two of which took over Ariella's care from the mercenary.

...rest assured that it was the force channeled through Ordan's biceps that enabled him to haul the dead weight of Ariella up the fiber cord while carrying her over his shoulder. Normally he might have gotten a few feet, tired and then fallen back to what would likely have been his doom but the force was a wonderful thing. Nonetheless it was not the end all and Ordan still felt the burn in his limbs as he neared the end of his climb only to see Wendy holding out her hand to help him. Ordan responded by shrugging Ariella towards her so that she could drag her up and out of the way allowing the rest of the survey team to see to her care..."Take her!"...he groaned out loudly before pulling himself out of the hole where he promptly fell onto hands and knees, crawled away and started to regain his strength...

...by the time Rayl had climbed up and out of the hole Ordan was back on his feet. Leaning over, his hands on his thighs, Ordan couldn't have agreed more..."Lets blow that thing to hell."...but then Rayl handed him the Thermal Detonator and told him that he could do the honors. There was no hesitation..."You don't have to invite me to start a party twice."...he smiled, wryly, then took the thermal detonator from Rayl before running his thumb over the detonator. Pressing the switch he moved towards the hole and said..."See you in hell you ugly thing."...before tossing the thermal detonator down the hole and then backing off....

...he didn't need to wait and see what would happen next, he backed up and waited for the boom...

A ear splitting blast rocked and echoed the old tower. Stone and dust went flying through the air. Rayl protected his head with an arm as small pebbles and stones came down. The beast couldn't have survived that. If it did he'd promise to eat his gloved and detonate an antimatter bomb to ensure nothing like that would ever surface here again. "Well if that wasn't like fish in a barrel". Rayl advanced forward to the blast cracked hole. Mindful of his step. The dust dissipated quickly and snow blown in from their entryway due to the vacuum the explosion made fluttered by him. There was nothing left but ash and rubble. "Good riddance".

"Listen up men. Some hellish beast was living down there. If there's more we'll need to know". Rayl pointed to one of his subordinates. "Comm the Whitenoise and have her message Saki for a reinforcement ship with a small battalion. And have sent down what men they can spare and weapons they can. Until we are relieved, we're going to hold this position. Is that clear"?

...Ordan wasn't standing near the hole when that detonators blast rocked the tower and sent an ear splitting blast echoing through the structure but his hands still came up to his ears and covered them when they started to ring. Moments later when the ringing started to subside Ordan would lower his hands and look between Rayl, Wendy and the rest of the survey team that had joined them while the dust filling the area following the blast started to settle. Wiping a hand back through his hair he'd place his palm on the back of his neck before slowly stretching..."Now that we're topside again I could use a drink."...which is exactly what he intended to get for himself...

...the simple things in life were what gave Ordan the most pleasure. Things like high powered weaponry, a firm backside and a well stocked canteen. A Survey Team Member had recovered his rucksack. Moving to where he'd spotted the sack Ordan took a knee, rummaged through its contents and came back with a canteen bottle that he'd unscrew before placing to his mouth so that he could take a pull of whatever was inside. A second later when he'd lowered it he'd cough briefly before muttering out...
"Smooth."...then he'd come back to his feet and prepare to get back to work. Outside it was all snow and ice, he couldn't wait to leave this rock...

Wendy looked at the two and rolled her eyes but not in that sarcastic dismissive way in the little sister way while she walked. "Well enjoy your drink and this was better then I thought it was going to be. A great thing in the end and hopefully we aren't going to have more of those to face with the teams." She was not looking forward to some fights but now she looked at Rayl and smiled. "So any other plans for this planet?"

[member="Ordan Vosk"] [member="Wendy La Fey"]

Rayl finished with the orders and the men set out to do what they needed too. A quick stretch of arms up over his head released a yawn. He was tired after all that. "I hear that Vosk. I think I'd like a hot Caf over some rum though. Fraking ice worlds being what they are, and this day. The levels of suck are to damn high". Ordan went off to find a drink leaving Rayl with Wendy for company. "Well, hopefully our drug kingpin and his team have wrapped up the ice mining contracts. Having an exclusive world of fresh water for the Suns will go a long way. Fixed rate for five to ten years will save a lot of money and our r.o.t will be better reselling it. Maybe discount it a bit off the standard for worlds in our control to keep them happy. And why exclusive, we'll price gouge neutral systems for it too. Fark I'm supposed to be a Pirate Lord and the Boss. Here I am talking like some Muun stiff. Kill me if I start working like an office jockey and not the terror south of the Core Worlds that I am will you"? Rayl laughed it all off in good cheer. He needed a laugh after all this.

..."Don't be shy Wendy. There's plenty to go around."...he'd have grunted out after stifling a cough once he'd taken another pull of whatever was in the canteen. Outstretching his arm to Wendy he would have offered the canteen to her, then to Rayl if she declined, before turning and settling down with his back against the wall. After all of this Ordan could do with a bit of rest and relaxation. Looking up he'd listen to Rayl as he spoke, noting that having a planet with a water supply such as this would be a definite boon to the Suns, though he didn't have much to add to the conversation at this point...

...staying quiet he watched as different members of the Survey Team worked around the room, the cold air from the outside blowing into the confines and causing a chill to run down his spine slowly, Ordan only knew that it would almost be a punishment to be stationed on Saqqar regardless of its potential value. Cold weather. Bad women. No entertainment. Sounds like a hell....

....tipping his head backwards he'd place it against the stone of the wall while remarking...
"Take me back to the Ghetto."...he'd grown up in a rough environment, he preferred the urban battlefield as compared to the archeological digs like this. Maybe one day Ordan would grow to appreciate missions like this however today was not the day anything like that would be happening. On the other hand chalk this up to one more victory for the Black Suns so he planned on indulging in a celebration back on the ships...

Meanwhile...

Arceneau Trade Company was setting up shop. There were things to chart down on Saqqar, and she wanted Mara TibX and Fuels as well as Browncoat Arms and Industrial to get a push on the market.

So she had set up a sale at a discounted rate for Browncoat Arms & Industrial products as well as all the ships in Haven Shipyards. Everything was discounted 20%!

The sale of such would bring forth some investment opportunities within the area and perhaps give data if having an trading outpost on Saqquar would be profitable.

Sue was here to provide security for the ATC blowout sale. He stood with the rest of the DarkWater Security group, overseeing to make sure nothing ran amiss.

As it was, he was armed to the teeth, though to be frank, just his demeanor and his look was enough to warrant folk to stay in line. At twenty percent off sales, this was a great time to cash in on Browncoat and Haven products.
