Hello! Good to see you here!

While I am no Consular I am still open to take you on as Padawan/Apprentice, if you want. I'd say I am somewhat more similar to a Sentinel and so far my skills aren't the most well-developed but just like your skills mine are ever improving.

So, I mean, you could always consider me a fallback plan if you want. :p

Personally I am hoping to find someone more attuned to discussion role-play than bladework or physical training, as is usually in conjunction with Sentinels. Though if you're up for that, so am I.

To put this into perspective, Corvus was written to be very much someone who could be the next Librarian but who aspired to be a Consular. But we're at war and so my character had to roll with what that meant for the Order.

Does that mean she's all action and no discussion? No. Most Jedi are a balance - although you're right to reflect that some tend to prefer the physical side.

So, some thoughts:

1. Have you considered being a Padawan to a Healer? Not as a career choice, but to see a different side to the boards?

2. Go with the flow. Keep your character firmly on a career path to be a Consular and join whatever threads work for you. Many are not combat focused (but most have some element in them).

3. Find threads that work for you. [member="Kian Karr"] is about to start up one about the Jedi Code for example. Lots of chat and no bladework (I hope ;))

4. Look at the Republic threads and if you see a Knight or Master that you'd like to work with - PM them. Most are flattered to be asked.

5. Take your time and don't jump at the first offer.

6. Have fun!

I've considered my options. The route of the Healer is not mine to take. While the Jed are indeed at war, a Jedi is not a soldier either, at least, such is not a way of life for all Jedi. I plan to keep my Jedi a pacifist. I hope to have him follow the tenets strictly, and be that annoying voice who tells someone to stay ones blade. After-all the Jedi code states that a Jedi will use the Force only for knowledge and defense, never for aggression or personal gain. Sure he'll defend himself, and those around him, but neither would he aim to defeat someone.

Or in other words - that one guy who gets cut down because he just sits there and tries to talk reason.

And not forget, this character is 71 years old. Not much for fighting fit.

Oh, while that doesn't necessarily strike me off the list I can see our goals differ enough for me to be rather incompatible to actively play as someone tutoring your character.

Still, if you ever need someone to do all the saber dancing with I am here as well as everyone else. :)

I can't disagree with your overall philosophy - go for it!

Bear in mind that in signing up to be a Jedi you are agreeing to be a guardian of peace in the galaxy, Jedi must protect the weak and defenceless.

There is a difference between being a peacekeeper and a pacifist. Every Jedi should consider the taking of a life the last option. But sometimes that option has to be taken.

But point 6. above stands - have fun...

I've decided to write a new Jedi Character. Bit different than Diana was, but nonetheless will be fun i think.

I won't be participating in any faction stuff until I've completed my first thread, but if anyone wants to to a private thread that takes place a little bit in the future I'll be open to it :)
