The War on Hapes (Year Long RP)

Instead of being bisected, the man @[member="Vulpesen"] attempted to cut down would block the strike with his own saber, and leap to the side, joining the other two saber guards. Each had the power of a Sith apprentice, the Jedi was equally matched to them individually, but there were three of them and one of him, he was outnumbered. The three stood in a perfect line, about two meters of space in-between each one, raising their hands, they reached out and attempted to choke Vulpsen as they all three grasped his neck with the force and squeezed.

Vulpesen found it easy to notice their collective efforts and took a grenade from his belt tossing it at the middle one, using the force to increase his presence and focus them on him and not the small orb rolling at their feet. Of course, it was nothing without a little acting as Vulpesen found himself faking panic in the air, using the force to stave off two of their attacks. Force or not, they were grunts. Vulpesen was a jedi and would use every tactical advantage he had, including their overconfidence.

@[member="Marcus Faust"]

Grunts? No. Highly trained soldiers and special operatives with years of experience? Yes. Hurling @[member="Vulpesen"] back the trio dived in multiple directions, getting clear of the grenade hurled their way. These men had been trained their whole lives, they would not be killed so easily. His increase in presence had nearly caught them to be fair though. Only their keen senses had saved them from obliteration at the hand of the Jedi Padawan. Which would've been very humiliating.

Vulpesen flipped to the air and landed lightly to his feet, using the explosion as a distraction to mask himself in the force. The stygium crystal in his lightsaber only made it easier for him to disappear as he crouched and sped around behind his enemies, using the small moment of confusion to attack from the obscurity. They were highly trained, he had been highly tested. @[member="Marcus Faust"]

As he lashed out at one, he ducked, the blade of the Jedi cutting into his back, forcing him to cry out in pain as his skin was burned by the white hot blade, but he lived. Before a deathblow could be delivered, another rushed onto him, launching a false strike at @[member="Vulpesen"]'s head and a real one the gut him with a vertical slash of his stomach. The third guard leapt over the Jedi and struck at him from behind like he had struck at them.

Vulpesen almost fell for the feint but leaped up just in time to dodge the gut shot with a backwards leap. His force senses alerted him to the enemy behind him and he twirled the saberstaff in a defensive pattern to deflect the incoming strikes. He would survive this through superior foot work and determination, he had no other choice. This wasn't a fight to win, this was stalling and hopefully something that would work. Vulpesen slammed down the button on his comlink. "I need back up NOW! Any available jedi, heavy armor, or spec ops get us backup at the southern outpost now!" Vulpesen returned his attention to the sith and prepared himself for another onslaught. He wasn't tired yet, but things were not looking especially good right now. @[member="Marcus Faust"]

A darker presence would approach from the mangled bodies of Republic soldiers. The saber guard would back away as it neared, if @[member="Vulpesen"] turned around he would find himself looking to Marcus Faust. From behind his mask and wrappings, he smiled, the boy had potential. Pulling two trophies from his belt and igniting them, he twirled an emerald blade along with an electric blue one. Marcus was silent as he approached the boy, the only sound was the gentle hum of his sabers and the clink of his other trophies bumping into each other as he walked. Stopping around ten feet from the Jedi, Marcus waited, the boy would make a move, he was sure of it. But on the off chance he was wrong, Marcus would lash out.

"You have strength boy, but it is wasted among the Jedi."

Vulpesen groaned. "Kriff." He was in trouble with the trio, but now he had jumped out of the frying pan and into hell. Still, he was an Amaran. He'd learned to haggle for many things, including his life. "Sometimes I think the same, but what makes you think I would have any inclination to join the sith?" He had fear, but he quickly suppressed it. Strength was something he would need now. Never the less, he kept his lightsaber prepared for any attack that the Sith might give out. Hopefully he wouldn't considering the padawan's expression of the possibility of joining the dark side. @[member="Marcus Faust"]

Yusan watched silently and gripped his blade tight as he charged forward, aiming directly at @[member="Marcus Faust"] as he sent a wave of force energy at the Sith's side. Of course the energy would only work once as the man would not be ready for the sudden attack, but after that Yusan would have to use his blade to help. He would stop at @[member="Vulpesen"] side and speak behind the helmet the he wore. "Hello Jedi, you seemed like you could use some help?" He held his saber forward and grinned behind the helmet. His armor and helmet both hid who he was but they showed he had some sort of wealth do to the materials that were used in it. He turned his head in Marcus' direction and lit his saber, speaking once. "Surrender now Sith, and you can leave in one piece."

"You think us all the same, I am not the monster your masters would have you believe I am." He stated, being cut off by the wave of force energy. Stumbling to the side he regained his footing and looked to @[member="Yusan Fenn"] as he ordered him to surrender. His only response was a dark laugh, which soon ended, as he slammed Yusan in unison with his saber guard with a force push. The attack would surely throw him back, giving him the time he needed to finish what he was saying to @[member="Vulpesen"]. "As I was saying, come with me and see what is truly needed to save this galaxy of chaos." Marcus said walking back to the position he had held just a few moments ago before he was so rudely interrupted.

Vulpesen let out a breath, and relaxed. He'd had a lot of close calls. So many people he'd called for. Jedi, soldiers, commandoes, anyone. Yet... a senator. He had been rescued by a senator. Had he not been still terrified for his life, he'd had fallen to the ground laughing. "You could say that." He said with a wide grin. He wasn't out of trouble yet, but it still felt like he had once again cheated death. He laughed, then turned to the sith as he continued talking. "Order at the cost of freedom is not worth the price. I did not join the jedi to serve the light of the force. I joined to serve the life of the galaxy." His lightsaber raised a bit higher as he took a steady stance, the eyes of the fox head emitters gleamed in the sun's light. "You sith make law with death. That is something I can never accept." Vulpesen's face turned from jovial to a steely gaze that seemed to pierce the sith knight. "I am Vulpesen Espadus Torrevaso, and you have lost your hold." With those words, he silenced himself and waited for the sith's attack. @[member="Marcus Faust"]

The senator's arrival had done the job of bolstering the bolstering the boy's confidence. He'd held his own against the trio, and the knight was someone he could likely hold off on his own in at least a long conflict. One more person could tip the balance in to the jedi's preferred odds, and that person had arrived. He looked at @[member="Yusan Fenn"] and Found him admiring the politicians bravery. "It seems like not all of you pencil pushers are hiding back on Coruscant, and for that, I thank you."

Yusan was easily pushed back several meters where he recovered and held his saber out, leveled on Marcus as he took a Makashi stance. The sith though was just talking, he held his saber ready though and let the Jedi answer, if the Jedi did change sides he was in for a much worse beating than he had thought he'd recieve originally. But the Jedi needed to make the choice then and there or else there would be no reason for Yusan holding back. Once the Jedi had denounced any chance of joining the Sith Yusan smiled and walked forward next to the Jedi, speaking. "Dont thank me yet, hes not dead yet." Yusan slowly glanced between the three targets and grimaced, this was not a simple walk in the park at all. @[member="Marcus Faust"] @[member="Vulpesen"]

Rang watched from a distance just arriving on the scene to see @[member="Vulpesen"] taking on three opponents at once, and soon to be aided by another who quickly came to his side. Rang took a deep breath and decided to join in. She wasnt gonna stand idly by and watch this go on and on. The sith was obviously powerful, so she ran up and stood at their side with her right hand on her blade which was in its sheath attached to her back. She wasnt really one for utilizing lightsabers, she prefered her force imbued blade. She tighted her hand around her hilt, and had a smirk on her face. She hadnt took her eyes off the enemy, "Well now, if you really want him why dont you ask nicely?" She said smirking. All in her head she prepared to be sore after this was all over

"No, I haven't. And you know that boy." Marcus stated darkly, turning to @[member="Yusan Fenn"] and @[member="Rang Inyri"]. His saber guard prepared to move, but Marcus shook his head. This was his fight. He still hadn't even assumed a stance, and had simply ignited his sabers. The Jedi would strike, they were young, and even if they didn't admit it, they were afraid. Fear would drive them to act rashly, and lash out a Marcus, from which he would simply counter, injure them, and continue breaking down the philosophy they held so dear. "Death is a part of life, Jedi, and we only bring death who those who deserve it. If you wanted a Sith who ran around eating children and slaughtering villages, you should look to the Fringe. I'd help you kill them if you found them, but that is irrelevant now, you are obviously one who must see to believe." He added, looking to @[member="Vulpesen"] once more.

Vulpesen cast a glance to the senator then to the new padawan. He'd seen her before but they'd never officially met. Now, she was one of the greatest people in the world to him. Three on four, and one of the enemies was greatly injured. Things were not going very well. "You've also lost your advantage." He said to the sith. Normally, he'd have smiled broadly, but this time his words held a deadly edge. He'd been tempted to the dark side, and its evils. A line he already danced upon, and now the sith was about to see what happened when one tempted the Jedi who had spent his time staring into the darkness of the galaxy. "You will drop your weapons and surrender, or you shall fall."

Vulpesen had dropped all negotiations. Haggling was over, now he was completely non negotiable as he put the saberstaff in a stable two handed grip, staring down the sith knight. He didn't care about any strength differences. He never did in any situation. He had trained far too long to be scared by figures such as this. He'd been there when Velok had died. That was the last time he'd come into conflict with a sith.

Upon @[member="Marcus Faust"]'s words Vulpesen huffed in disagreement. "But at the end of the day you kill. The dark side calls for death and you allow it to control you. No one truly deserves to simply die. With that said, I ask that you surrender now." Faust was wrong. To attack him would bring Vulpesen closer to the darkside, somewhere he was already dancing by, though others would only see the temptation as a simple decision to not compromise. He didn't want to kill this man, but he would if he struck at him. That was the way he worked. Vulpesen would only react, and never would he strike the first blow, but once he was provoked, all bets were off. @[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Rang Inyri"]

"No, the dark jedi who slaughtered my family DESERVED to die, and so does ANYONE who stands in the way of me making sure no child ever has his family wretched away from him ever again." He growled, his voice brimming with rage and hate. @[member="Vulpesen"] should've knob by now Marcus wasn't going to stand down, nor was he going to strike first. The Jedi would have to be on the offensive, he was pushing them away from their comfort zone, onto the offensive. To be on the offense often forced one to call on emotions like anger in order to defeat their opponent. Not that they would defeat him anyway.

FROM THE AIR BURST FIRE AND DEATH

Faenrovon dived through the clouds once more, coming out of a low bank and sailing straight down upon @[member="Vulpesen"], quick as a lightning strike. Fire leapt from his mouth and streamed toward the ground to engulf the padawan in flames. And just like that, Faenrovon whooshed back into the sky, climbing high for another attack.

Yusan flinched visibly at the Sith's words, then immediately a aura of fear came off him. It wasn't fear for Marcus exactly but fear of what Marcus had become. The same thing had happened to him, his father slain by a Jedi, his mother nearly so by a Dark Jedi she betrayed, and now here stood a man that had been shaped down a different path by the same event. His grip lessened and he nearly missed the sound of the dragon coming from above, his muscles though didn't respond, he was still completely shaken by the monster that he might become that stood in front of him. His eyes watched as the Dragon attacked Vulpesen, but he did nothing to stop it, his mind told him to keep up his guard but his muscles didnt move. It was stupid that such a thing had caused him to freeze up, but this was his worst dream come true standing before him. @[member="Marcus Faust"] @[member="Vulpesen"] @[member="Rang Inyri"]

Vulpesen sensed the danger from above and send out a force push to his nearby allies to knock them away as he himself leapt out of the way of the dragons fire. This was unacceptable. His hit his comlink. "We got wings over the Southern outpost. Heavy armor, remaining artillery at south, and central take him down now!" Artillery and cannons fired into the sky, using the sensors to strike at the enemy while Vulpesen returned his attention to the sith. "So, you serve the same side of the force that killed those you loved?" A mistake had been made and Vulpesen used it to his advantage. Everyone had chinks their armor, trading was about exploiting those chinks and Vulpesen would now attempt to trade a sith for someone searching redemption. He radiated calm in the force, passing it over his allies. "You have brought yourself to the heel of your enemy and you believe this to be right. If I were to destroy that which you held dear would you follow me? No, you would fight me, and destroy me. Yet, you have become a slave to that which has also controlled the ones who brought you misery." He took a step closer, deactivating one side of his lightsaber, but staying out of reach should @[member="Marcus Faust"] attack. "It is not too late to leave the side of evil and fight against the darkness. By working in the teachings of the sith, you only strengthen that which you hate."

@[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Rang Inyri"]

It took several minutes for him to get up. But Arcturus managed it, his lungs felt like they were on fire, and he was coughing up a thick yellow mucus. He looked around at base Kilo, almost everyone was dead or dying. Scout Team One was all but gone, and it looked like that fire breathing dragon and his artillery strikes had finished everything off. Kilo base was a smoldering ruin. He summoned the force and moved, Marcus was on his own know. But Arcturus would not leave him to stand alone against the enemy.

"JEDI SCUM!" Arcturus shouted and jumped high up into the air. In his hands his red lightsaber came to life ready to strike. He came down hard, and landed on his feet. His anger fueled his approach and he fully gave himself to the fight. He saw the Jedi Padawan @[member="Rang Inyri"], and she was his first target. He charged towards her and came slashing with his lightsaber in at her with all his strength.
