  • Predator interdiction drive is indiscriminate in what vessels it affects, targeting both friend or foe.
  • Prominent command bridge offers easily identifiable target for enemies.
  • Low starfighter support could be exploitable by enemies.
  • Anticoncussion fields require moderate energy to remain active, requiring controlled activation to avoid too much power drain from other systems.
  • Rear of vessel more vulnerable to attack, with limited defensive weaponry angling that direction.
Description:
The Mohn-Class Star Battlecruiser is a common sight within the Chiss Ascendancy, used within the CEDF, and primarily serves as a front-line vessel. Made for ship-to-ship warfare, the Mohn boasts an impressive array of defensive and offensive technology, making it well-suited for brunt battle contact. The most notable feature is the array of megamaser turrent variants, which allow for impressive firepower output. And in order to survive being close to the enemy, the Mohn also has a high defense capability, with layered shielding and ablative armor plating.

Equipped with the new standards of the Chiss Ascendancy, including targeting and signaling systems and hyperdrives, the Mohn is a capable Star Battlecruiser able to provide strong assault formations in the fleet. Additionally, the anticoncussion fields assist in offering kinetic protection inside the vessel. Additionally, a less common systems on the vessels are the Predator Interdiction Drive. The Drive is designed to emit an interdiction-like field around the Mohn, which in turn slows all vessels realspace speed within a nearby range for a brief time; this allows the Mohn several advantages, such as maintaining speed with enemy vessels that are faster, keeping enemy vessels nearby for reinforcements to arrive, etc.

All in all, an impressive ship-to-ship combat vessel, able to handle front-line confrontations through strong offensive and defensive output; though its lack of long ranged weaponry, and very limited starfighter squadrons, means it must rely on larger or specialized vessels to provide solutions to those weaknesses, requiring fleet formations for maximum effectiveness.

[*]Sensor and Targeting Systems:

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:
  • The Voritor boasts an impressive offensive and defensive capacity, making it suited for slugging matches with other ships of similar class.
  • Spitfire Laser Cannons capable of dealing rapid, impressive damage at close ranges, with minimal energy drain.
  • Utilizes a predator interdiction drive, capable of slowing vessels realspace speeds when active and nearby the Voritor, while allowing it to maintain speed.
  • Armed with power crystal weapons, capable of boring holes into ship shielding, exposing gaps in defenses for firing solutions.
Weaknesses:
  • Heavily damaged or destroyed ablative armor panels require full replacement out of combat.
  • Power crystal weapons offer little physical damage to vessels, being designed to damage shields specifically.
  • Predator interdiction drive is indiscriminate in what vessels it affects, friend or foe.
  • Prominent command bridge offers easily identifiable target for enemies.
  • Spitfire Laser Cannons require close range of enemy vessel to be effective.
  • Rear of vessel more vulnerable to attack, with limited defensive weaponry angling that direction.
Description:
The Voritor is the first vessel created in the Batahn-Class Chiss Star Destroyer line, a prototype, and as a result is a very new ship that hasn't been witnessed beyond the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet until now. Made for ship-to-ship warfare, the Voritor boasts an impressive array of defensive and offensive technology, making it well-suited for brunt battle contact. Due to the nature of also being a command ship, the Voritor is ideal as a mid-formation vessel, seeking to close the distance with enemies to bring all of its power to bear, but also relying on more aggressive vessels to damage enemies; and combined with an array of warhead bays, rapid-fire cannons and maser tech, the vessel can certainly slug it out with other ships of similar class.

Equipped with the new standards of the Chiss Ascendancy, including targeting and signaling systems and hyperdrives, the Voritor is a formidable Star Destroyer capable of defending against a range of enemy vessels or threats to the boundaries of the Chiss regions. And when reinforced with support or specialist vessels, the Voritor proves its worth by reinforcing the charge, bringing a balance of power and support against the enemy.

Two less common systems on the vessel are the Predator Interdiction Drive, and the Power Crystal Weapons. The Drive is designed to emit an interdiction-like field around the Voritor, which in turn slows all vessels realspace speed within a nearby range for a brief time; this allows the Voritor several advantages, such as maintaining speed with enemy vessels that are faster, keeping enemy vessels nearby for reinforcements to arrive, etc. The Power Crystal Weapons are designed to bore literal holes into ship shields, creating openings that allow the Voritor to maximize firepower; due to the nature of these boring lasers, they are highly efficient against shields, but lack any real damage to physical surfaces, as they rapidly lose energy once affecting a shield and consequently burn out before reaching most vessels hulls.

For a prototype, the Voritor has exceeded Fleet Command expectations, and the honor of Captaining the vessel has gone to the Chiss officer Mitth'orn'eruod, who is the first to lead the Batahn-Class Chiss Star Destroyer into battle.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create the elite Commando unit for the Chiss Ascendancy navy, under direct command of the Defense Hierarchy (of the CEDF)
  • Role: The Chiss Commandos serve as the elite black ops unit for the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet
  • Links: Chiss Commandos, Fractal-Pattern Armor
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Chiss Commandos
  • Affiliation: Defense Hierarchy (of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet)
  • Classification: Special Task-force, Black Ops
  • Equipment: Chiss Commando Armor, Fractal-Pattern Coating, CEDF Resources
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Availability: Rare
  • Deployment: Minor
  • Strengths & Weaknesses:
[+] Highly Trained: Every Chiss Commando is a highly trained operative, who has received extensive specialized skills in a variety of situational conditions and weaponry use, and are also able to acquire new ones to further their knowledge and capabilities on the battlefield.
[+] Black Ops: The Chiss Commandos are most effective when operating under black ops conditions; namely using unconventional warfare.
[+] Adaptable: Every member of the Chiss Commandos has displayed the uncommon trait of being able to adapt easily to new information or situations, and to utilize it fully, unlike most Chiss who require already known data/information to form conclusions.

[+/-] Loyal: The Chiss Commandos are loyal to the Defense Hierarchy, the CEDF and the Chiss people. They would never consider betrayal as an option, due to their intense training and proselytism to the Chiss Ascendancy and its welfare. Because of this, all Chiss Commandos are willing to die, if captured or otherwise unable to escape, in order to protect secrets and information they hold concerning the Chiss Ascendancy, its military and its people.

[-] Unconventional: The Chiss Commandos are trained in unconventional warfare, which results in their inability to operate within the larger naval marine forces; this means no Chiss Commandos will be directly involved in large-scale battles alongside common divisions, but will instead be regulated to specialized tasks as a small unit.
[-] Training Time: Despite starting at a young age, each Chiss Commando is subjected to a longer training period than most soldiers, and this can result in large fluctuations of operator numbers, depending on losses in the field.
[-] Recruitment Issues: The requirement of adaptable Chiss is a steep one, with individuals displaying that kind of mentality being low; this results in each Commando member being very important, and the pool for recruitment being restricted. This makes every Chiss Commando member vital and any losses heavy.
  • Description: The Chiss Commandos are a specialized group that operate under special task or black ops conditions. With a combination of advanced training, advanced resources, and a versatility to operating in numerous situations, they are are force to be reckoned with. Typically operating under direct command of the Defense Hierarchy, each Commando has undergone extensive training for a significant portion of their young adulthood, resulting in highly trained and capable operatives.
Within the CEDF, the Chiss Commandos fall primarily under the Naval operations military, and serve a role within the Chiss Ascendancy that includes:

- Unconventional Warfare
- Foreign Internal Defense
- Special Reconnaissance
- Counterterrorism
- Direct Action

Every Chiss Commando must show the rare capability to adapt to new situations, without preexisting data or information; this trait makes a Commando invaluable on the field, as they can easily adjust tactics or respond to unexpected situations immediately. The following is a breakdown of age ranges and training taught for any Chiss becoming a Commando:

Recruitment

At the ages of seven to ten (7-10), each Chiss tested that shows aptitude for adaptability is considered for Commando appointment. Several additional tests are conducted by Commando Officers, to determine if a potential recruit has the traits required for such an intense military service. Willpower, determination, strength of mind and body, and a loyalty to the Chiss are the most basic requirements; any and all other skills, natural or learned, are considered more favorably to being selected.

Commando Training

Between the ages of ten to fifteen (10-15), the Commandos undergo the hardest training regimen in the CEDF repertoire. Boot camp is completed alongside Marine recruits, to ensure a basic understanding of methodology and operations, however unlike the Marines, each Commando continues training extensively for no less than three years. For those designated for leadership roles in the Commandos, advanced training continues for an additional two years. Some of the training notably includes:

- Commando Advanced Combat
- Combat Casualty Care
- Advanced Weapons Control Course
- Commando Armor And Utilities Training
- Jump, Dive And Space Movement Techniques
- Advanced Special Operations Techniques
- Advanced Language Training
- Multi-Situational Mobility (space, high/low gravity, etc)
- Commando Hostile Terrain Preparation
- Commando Tactical Infiltration
- Special Operations Techniques
- Advanced Technical Surveillance
- Advanced Analytics and Intelligence Ops
- Commando Mission Network Development And Application
- Advanced Unconventional Warfare Operational Training
- Advanced Reconnaissance And Target Analysis
- Advanced Enemy Exploitation Techniques

Additionally, Chiss Commandos undergo a consistent application of strong conditioning, proselytism and education, aimed at ensuring complete loyalty to the Chiss, the Ascendancy, CEDF leadership and the Commandos. Through a continued bond carefully crafted and maintained, each Commando is almost literally bred to excel in training, belief and dedication to their service of the Chiss people and its interests.

Also during this time, contact with family, loved ones or outside sources is kept to a controlled minimum; enough to remind Commandos-in-training of who they are fighting for, but not enough to influence feelings of longing or homesickness. Commandos that excel are likewise rewarded with status among other trainees, however all material or personal possessions are carefully balanced and controlled, to avoid envy or discord within groups.

Dependent on Commando-in-training age, training level, and preparedness, they are presented for graduation.

Graduation

Around the age of fifteen to sixteen (15-16) is the usual point of Chiss Commando graduation. Once graduated, the Commando is assigned to the elite group, given appropriate equipment and rank privileges, and immediately begins taking part in special ops and black ops military operations, either in small or large Commando units.

Reaching this point in a career is considered especially prestigious and earns a House a significant status increase. Commandos are also allowed to return to personal homes, families or loved ones; or are also permitted to remain on base, utilizing adequate and comfortable personal living quarters supplied by the CEDF.

DESCRIPTION
The CCU-01a is specialized armor designed from the ground up to serve as a versatile, medium-weight, military-grade armament.

The systems included in the helmet allow for an array of operative information, which requires specific training to utilize fully. The weapon load-out is adaptable, allowing for Chiss Commandos to equip gear as required, or to fulfill specialist roles in a squad. The armor itself blends a balanced mixture of stealth capability with protection to more common weapon types in galactic circulation; however, to further assist with the former, numerous passive sound dampers have been placed strategically throughout the armor, to better remain near-silent, even at increased movement speeds.

Wanting to provide as many advantages as possible, but while maintaining a need for quick and silent action, the Chiss technicians opted for segmented servo-enhancers placed primarily within limb plating, which gives increased strength and speed - roughly equivalent to peak physical performance, relative to humanoid size and shape.

In order to deal with a range of environment extremes and changes, the armor boasts a fully sealed thinsuit layer, as well as the ability to self-seal with foam. Additionally, the helmet of each Commando offers a range of systems for allowing regular breathing, even in toxic or no oxygen situations. The internal oxygen supply allows for up to thirty minutes of air.

Each Commando has the option to utilize an Armored Demolition Pack or a flight pack. For the demo pack, there are several systems in place that allow improved operation efficiency, and are engineered to compliment a Commando's tasks. The pack provides an automated tracking arm, which can switch between infrared targeting lasers for improved firing solutions in conjunction with the HUD; it can also activate a searchlight, a strobe light, and serves as a secure armored housing for delicate items or equipment - such as vape charges.

Finally, Chiss Commandos can utilize the specialized fractal-pattern coating on their armor; they are the only division of the CEDF that has access to this coating.

Weaknesses:
  • Very low armament, only four maser cannons.
  • Lacks more advanced weapon systems of comparable starfighters, such as ion cannons, turrets or launchers.
  • Limited field of view from cockpit, requiring reliance on sensor systems for peripheral awareness.
Description:
The Nssis-Class Clawcraft has been a common design seen within the Chiss Ascendancy, but the maneuverability capabilities have always been the most impressive feature of the craft. Using more advanced technology developments from prior Clawcraft models, the latest vessels have reached the next levels of performance for Chiss pilots. With the four curved-wings, and the consequent control jets, the Clawcraft has extremely high capacity for maneuvers and evasive flight. Additionally, to further support the Chiss' preference on not wasting life, they included advanced sensor disrupting systems, to assist in giving their pilots as strong a battlefield advantage as possible.

Unlike the more commonly used Nssis-Class Fangcraft, the Clawcraft has a Chiss Hyperdrive installed, which allows pilots and squadrons more tactical opportunities. Much like its predecessor models, the modern Clawcraft lacks many of the more advanced weapon and launcher systems, in order to streamline the craft as much as possible for it's main purpose - outmaneuvering and overcoming enemy starfighters. Also, due to the smaller, compact size of the Nssis-Class Clawcraft, the squadron count has been improved marginally; this was primarily achieved by being able to fit two more fighters into a standard hangar bay, whereas other comparable craft such as the X-Wing are almost double in length and width.

All in all, the Nssis-Class Clawcraft is a low armament maser cannon mounted, but extremely maneuverable, superiority starfighter, with respectable defenses and some additional sensor equipment in place of more advanced weapon systems.

CHISS SPACE

Above Planet Rhigar; Space.
It is important to perceive danger coming at you, but it remains far more vital to see what threatens your blind spots.

A compliment of Chiss starships floated in the void of space. An imposing sight, a force on a clear and distinct mission, and which was being tested this very day. Since the slow return of the Chiss Ascendancy to the galactic table, there had been certain elements that required adjustment and fine-tuning. Not one to waste time on niceties or beating around the proverbial bush, the Chiss High Command had demanded a full military operation to sweep the surrounding Chiss space. The operation would pertain to several functions; naval and army cooperation, planetary scouting updates, estimates of efficiency and finally capacity of those in command.

  • Bow doors, while heavily armored, are slow to open and close, leaving the ship vulnerable during this transition.
  • Limited front line combat capability, relies heavily on starfighter squadrons and other Chiss vessels to take combat focus.
  • Anticoncussion fields require moderate energy to remain active, requiring controlled activation.
  • Rear of vessel more vulnerable to attack, with limited defensive weaponry angling that direction.
Description:
The Cssin'rt'ust-Class Star Carrier is a common sight within the Chiss Ascendancy, used within the CEDF, and primarily serves as a support vessel. It is not uncommon to see this ship on the edges of a Chiss fleet, providing fighter squadrons and long ranged fire. The most notable feature is the long flight deck, located on the bow, which opens heavy bay doors that allow large numbers of fighters to launch quickly. Additionally, the dual bridge towers have been divided into distinct function setups - the port tower is for starfighter operations, while the starboard tower is for helm and command operations. Though lacking in firepower, the Cssin'rt'ust has a high defense capability, though still requires other fleet vessels to take away combat focus in battle to compensate its lack of attack power.

Equipped with the new standards of the Chiss Ascendancy, including targeting and signaling systems and hyperdrives, the Cssin'rt'ust is a capable Star Carrier able to provide quick support in both space and surface instances. For the latter, the reinforced structure of the ship affords it atmospheric surface landing, allowing for rapid ground force deployment and supply. • Adapted dual spitfire rapid-fire laser cannons, which now utilize Chiss maser tech
  • Targeting Computers calibrated for rapid acquisition & starfighter attack/defense screening
  • CR90 Corvette systems and specifications brought up to modern standards by Chiss engineers
Strengths:
  • The Let'lesceti is a modernized CR90 Corvette, boasting good speed and durability for the present galaxy.
  • Boasts numerous rapid-fire dual maser turrets that fire rapidly with low power consumption.
  • Targeting and turret systems calibrated for fighting quick moving starfighter targets in close ranges.
  • Carries a single dorsal-mounted heavy turbolaser cannon for larger fighter/bomber variants.
Weaknesses:
  • Short attack range vessel, with little-to-no mid or long range capability.
  • Heavy turbolaser cannon requires high power reserves, limiting firing capability to short bursts rather than sustained fire.
  • The Chiss Hyperdrive is still susceptible to interdiction effects.
  • Prominent bridge make obvious target.
  • Very specialized anti-fighter specifications, limiting versatility in combat engagements.
  • Limited front line combat capability, easily overpowered by larger vessels with longer ranged weaponry.
  • Rear of vessel more vulnerable to attack, with limited weaponry angling that direction.
Description:
The CR90 Let'lesceti-Class Corvette is a common sight within the Chiss Ascendancy, used within the CEDF and House Phalanxes, and primarily serves as an anti-starfighter support vessel. It is not uncommon to see this ship on the edges of a Chiss fleet, providing defense screens for larger vessels against starfighter squadrons. The most notable feature is the replacement of previous laser cannons to numerous spitfire rapidfire maser cannons, ideal for outputting high fire rates with low power consumption. Due to the specialized anti-starfighter role the Let'lesceti plays, Chiss engineers felt maintaining the slower moving and firing cannons wasn't conducive to performing the task. There remains a single heavy turbolaser cannon on the dorsal emplacement, allowing the Let'lesceti to fire at heavier fighter/freighter variants if required; but using the cannon drains power reserves rapidly, requiring slower burst fire, rather than sustained fire.

Equipped with the new standards of the Chiss Ascendancy, including targeting and signaling systems and hyperdrives, the Let'lesceti is a more modern CR90 model that is capable of performing well in present battlefields. Not only have the armor, systems and power supplies been updated, but the techs went a step further and calibrated the Let'lesceti systems to be ideal for starfighter engagements. This did cost the Corvette the mid-to-long range capacity it is usually known for, but balance had to be maintained. Keeping with Chiss standards, a conner net warhead tubes have been included in the armament.

All in all, a highly effective anti-starfighter support vessel, able to hinder fighter squadrons in short range encounters; though its lack of mid-to-long ranged weaponry means it must rely on targeting smaller vessels at closer ranges in battle than standard corvettes.

  • Unit Name: The Ozyly-esehembo [roughly translates to 'Sky-walkers' in Basic]
  • Affiliation: Chiss Ascendancy, CEDF
  • Classification: Fleet navigators
  • Equipment: Ozyly-esehembo robes, Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboats, Chiss Commando personal guards
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Availability: Rare
  • Deployment: Limited [typically a flagship or command vessels of CEDF fleets]
  • Strengths & Weaknesses:
  • [+] Unparalleled Precognition: The Ozyly-esehembo have supremely advanced and developed Force Precognition, so finely honed that they are able to navigate ships through hyperspace without the use of any navigational systems to support their efforts; they are capable of avoiding space debris, planets, sudden changes in passage availability and other dangers to their ships, while also having uncannily pinpoint precision in their hyperspace trajectories and reversions to real-space.
  • [+] Faster Than Tech: Put simply, the Ozyly-esehembo can prepare hyperspace jumps exceedingly faster than navigation computers. Unlike the computers, which require time to pre-plot courses and check star charts and update information, the Ozyly-esehembo simply enter hyperspace and begin navigating reflexively. This allows for near unmatched quickness in hyperspace use for the Chiss, compared to other races or technologies.
  • [+/-] Mostly Female: Force Precognition tends to manifest in Chiss females, with Force sensitive males being exceedingly rare. Because females tend to mature faster, the younger age groups are more reliable for navigation duties, as opposed to the males who have shorter Ozyly-esehembo tenures.
  • [-] No Other Force Powers: The Ozyly-esehembo seemingly possess no other Force powers. Their entire connection to the Force only provides supreme levels of precognition.
  • [-] Limited Time Use: The Ozyly-esehembo lose their connections with the Force as they age, to the point that finding a Force sensitive older than fifteen is a very unlikely event. This is due to their Force Precognition effectively burning out their connection to the Force, by sheer levels of power.
  • [-] Only The Young: Because of the Force sensitivity decline, most Ozyly-esehembo are exceedingly young, to the point of being children and teenagers. Because Chiss mature at the age of 10, this means most Ozyly-esehembo can be used as navigators from as young as 5, with the upper age groups being dismissed from navigation duty at around age 15.
  • [-] No Combat: The Ozyly-esehembo are children. They are non-combatants and are protected when battle occurs, being of little-to-no use outside of navigation or microjump tasks.
  • [-] Staying Power: Being young, the Ozyly-esehembo cannot navigate for long periods of time, requiring rests between long hyperspace distances - typically handling a dozen hours 'comfortably'. If haste is required, multiple Ozyly-esehembo must overlap duties to provide relief.
Description: The Ozyly-esehembo [roughly translates to 'Sky-walkers' in Basic] are young Chiss, usually female children, that have displayed a singular, unparalleled power and sensitivity to Force Precognition from birth. So powerful are their abilities of precognition, they are able to safely and accurately navigate through hyperspace on vessels, making calculations and adjustments faster than navigation computers. However, as these particular Chiss grow older, their Force connection is effectively burnt out, fading regardless of the training or practice they undertook. Thus, seeing a Ozyly-esehembo over the age of fifteen is impossible. Originally used by Aristocras - or anyone with influence - within the Chiss Ascendancy, more recent technological developments have changed the intended task of the Ozyly-esehembo to be military-specific. As a result, non-CEDF ships must rely on navigation technology alone.

In more modern times, each member of the Ozyly-esehembo are now taken into military support service and placed under intense training regimens to further develop supreme levels of Force Precognition. With this power, the Ozyly-esehembo are used to navigate CEDF vessels through hyperspace, microjumps and the Unknown Regions, as well as finding and mapping temporary hyperlanes. Combined with the implementation of Chiss specific navigation equipment in all Chiss ships, this allows the Ozyly-esehembo unprecedented levels of precision and accuracy in navigating vessels, especially compared to the past when no such assistance was used. To further assist with navigation duties for a fleet, the Ozyly-esehembo makes use of an advanced Ozyly-esehembo Hubs, which are installed on all Chiss vessels, allowing for multiple adjustments for multiple craft under their care while in hyperspace.

Due to the rarity of Ozyly-esehembo, each member of the group operates within a secure navigation space away from the bridge, known as Ozyly-esehembo Lifeboats. This area is heavily protected - both guards and reinforced shields - while within the larger vessel, and is capable of ejecting from destroyed ships to preserve the Ozyly-esehembo, becoming an escape pod capable of hyperspace travel. Usually in such events, the Ozyly-esehembo and her guard return to Chiss space immediately, avoiding all combat entirely and leaving any remaining friendly CEDF vessels to use onboard navigation technology.

Because of how rare the Ozyly-esehembo are, any member of the group is treated with the utmost respect, and each is under constant guard by a pair of Chiss Commandos. Any older member of the Ozyly-esehembo are given higher social status and a very comfortable living at the CEDF's expense for the remainder of their life, similar to that of a celebrity in most cultures. This is due to being put into danger from such a young age, and proving their worth to Chiss society with their service. Some stay on in military service, while others simply enjoy a life of luxury.

It's important to mention that Chiss Viziters, other rare Chiss with the Force, are not limited to a single ability like the Ozyly-esehembo; the Viziters display more common Force sensitivity, like in other races, and are able to use a variety of Force powers without suffering the same burn out decline in Force connection. The Ozyly-esehembo are a very specific, very special type of Force user, wholly dedicated to Force Precognition.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:
  • The Ch'iszacosibi boasts a stygium cloaking device to provide maximum possibility of escape for Ozyly-esehembo passengers.
  • A combination of nightshadow coating and strong sensor jamming further assist with escape and evasion.
  • Each lifeboat is designed to eject from any vessel it is housed within, to protect the valuable occupant/s, and maintains its own power supply and ionic protections for this purpose (in case of capture attempts of the larger vessel).
Weaknesses:
  • Designed for escape, this is not a combat vessel, and has a bare minimum armament for simple defense.
  • Stygium cloaking device isn't infallible, with some enemy vessels utilizing methods of locating vessel through its effects.
  • The Chiss Hyperdrive is still susceptible to interdiction effects.
  • Small size results in limited armor, requiring reliance on shielding and cloaking methods as main forms of defense.
  • Very specialized vessel with little-to-no combat capacity once launched.
  • Rear-mounted conner net tube purely for defense against pursuit, cannot be aimed manually in different headings.
Description:
The Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboat is a very uncommon sight within the Chiss Ascendancy, used within the CEDF typically on flagships and command vessels, and primarily serves as an enhanced navigation operations center. The main purpose of this vessel is to serve as a navigation hub for the Ozyly-esehembo, who use the systems it provides to navigate fleets through space using Force Precognition. The second purpose of this vessel is to thoroughly protect the Ozyly-esehembo, who are mostly children, allowing for maximum potential of escape from battle should the carrying vessel be destroyed or disabled.

Each command vessel of 1000m or more within the CEDF is capable of housing the Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboats in a secret mooring location near the command bridge. This location has not been made available to public blueprints or plans, and thus remains a closely guarded secret to all but the highest CEDF officers. Additionally, should the command vessel suffer fatal damage or fall under capture, the lifeboat housing is designed to eject the Ozyly-esehembo at maximum thrust away from danger, using its own protected power source. The armored bay doors protecting the mooring points are expertly crafted to not reveal their location, with even the most intrusive sensor scans only showing structural space where the lifeboat is located.

Equipped with a variety of evasive devices, including a stygium cloaking device and nightshadow coating, the Chiss Ascendancy has spared no expense protecting the rare Force children. The Ozyly-esehembo Hub allows for advanced control of other fleet vessels, via interfacing through calibration systems on each Chiss vessel, and cannot be operated by anyone but registered Ozyly-esehembo members. Should tampering occur (infiltration, slicing, hijacking, etc), and unauthorized individuals try to control the hub without going through the highly secret and multi-phase control approval methods, the hub will lockdown and not function until those methods are completed by the assigned Ozyly-esehembo member.

When carried within a flagship or command vessel, the Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboat allows rapid entry and exit, so should a commander want to speak face-to-face, the Ozyly-esehembo can board - and retreat from - the bridge very quickly. Should the unfortunate happen, and the Ozyly-esehembo vessel is forced to eject, it will immediately be piloted away from the battlefield while activating every defensive measure and top speed, before the Ozyly-esehembo navigates back to Csilla at full hyperspeed.

All in all, a highly defensive vessel, used by specific individuals, to assist with enhanced CEDF fleet hyperspace navigation; though it lacks attack power, it makes up for it with speed and sensor/enemy evasion methods.

OZYLY-ESEHEMBO HUB
(Navigator Hub)

34aexHl.png

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Ozyly-esehembo Hub allows multiple CEDF ships, in relatively close proximity, to be navigated through hyperspace via the control of a Ozyly-esehembo member who uses Force Precognition to avoid dangers and obstacles.
  • Chiss engineers have worked to provide each hub with the best technology available, ensuring highly reliable and accurate input/response times down to the zeptosecond.
  • When not performing hyperspace transporting functions, every hub shuts down and enters a lockdown state - completely cutoff from every source - and can only be unlocked by the Ozyly-esehembo assigned to it for the deployment.
  • Tamper-proofing security measures installed, ensuring attempts at non-CEDF capture or control will activate security measures.
Strengths:
  • Through this hub, the Ozyly-esehembo can control the hyperdrive functions and navigation of a large assortment of CEDF fleet vessels, and see them safely delivered to their destination very accurately.
  • Because of the sheer speed of travel involved, Chiss technicians have developed a plethora of advancements and calibrations to the hub systems, allowing for zeptosecond responses in ship navigation changes or adjustments while moving through hyperspace, each command delivered instantly through hyper-enhanced communication methods between ships.
  • Due to the lack of navigation computing required, hyperspace travel for hub controlled vessels is entered/exited incredibly faster and accurately.
Weaknesses:
  • All vessels in a fleet must be moving on the same heading, for the hub to be effective.
  • Increased numbers in a fleet require larger Ozyly-esehembo members working together.
  • Using the hub requires total concentration, placing strain on young Ozyly-esehembo members.
  • Local realspace communications jamming sources render the hub unusable between CEDF vessels.
  • Lockdown protocol protects against enemy intrusion, but also loss of Ozyly-esehembo assigned for the deployment makes the hub useless until reconfigured at CEDF shipyards.
  • Systems rely heavily on continual maintenance and repairs between fleet deployments.
DESCRIPTION
The navigation hub serves as a type of slave-control for assigned CEDF vessels, allowing the Ozyly-esehembo to safely transport the fleet they are navigating for through space. Each hub is installed in the Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboats, and each of the systems follows a strict security process that requires numerous - and random - check-ins throughout the launching, guiding and returning phases of Ozyly-esehembo use. This ensures that, should a Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboat be taken by force, the hub would be inoperable and failure to succeed in the various security steps would result in self detonation of the craft.

The systems of the hub utilize heavily encrypted and amplified communications modules for the purposes of hyperspace travel, while also allowing for precision trajectory alterations almost instantaneously. Each hub can only activate hyperspace travel with the fleet in tow once command prompts have been sent and received from the flagship of the escorted fleet; this ensures all vessels are in formation and prepared, and also removes chances of hijacking attempts to send the fleet dangerously into hyperspace.

All in all, a complex and multi-phased security hub for guiding CEDF fleets through hyperspace by the Ozyly-esehembo from within their Ch'iszacosibi Lifeboats while housed in command vessels of a CEDF fleet.

LIGHT CELL GRENADE

RSDvxRh.png
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a specialized grenade for the Chiss Commandos of the Chiss Ascendancy.
  • Canon Link: Light Absorbing Cell
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Grenade that utilizes light absorbing cells, which interact with electromagnetic fields, to bend light in a specific area
  • 'Darkness field' removes all light from the vicinity affected by the fields diameter
  • Reusable grenade so long as not damaged or rendered mechanically inert
Strengths:
  • The Light Cell grenade creates a visually canceling darkness field in a 15 meter diameter
  • Internal ion surge shielding offers high ion protection when grenade is not active
Weaknesses:
  • Direct ion damage to the grenade while active can disable the grenades effects
  • High levels of ion damage will destroy/disrupt the mechanisms within, rendering it unusable
  • Certain visual ranges can still see through the darkness field, such as infrared and ultraviolet
  • Does not disrupt energy or solid projectiles in any way
  • Does not offer protections like a shield in any way
  • Internal ion surge shielding deactivates on darkness field emission, leaving device vulnerable to ion effects
DESCRIPTION
A small device used by the Chiss Ascendancy that causes a bubble of darkness to emit from electromagnetic fields interacting with light absorbing cell webbing. Due to the complex nature of the grenades, and the production cost, it has been limited to use by the Chiss Commandos.

The darkness field can offer sudden ambush and cover options for the commandos, as most species do not possess the required visual spectrum to pierce the light absorbing effects it emits. Those with infrared or ultraviolet visual ranges will still be able to see relatively well inside the field, however. Because the grenade doesn't actually explode, the light cell grenades are reusable, so long as they remain undamaged.

Due to the specialized mechanisms within, ion effects can interrupt the fields being emitted and can render the field inert. High levels of ion damage can destroy the devices altogether.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To submit a limited production stealth transport vessel for Chiss Commando operations
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

[*]Defenses: High

[*]Maneuverability Rating: High
[*]Speed Rating: High
[*]Squadron Size: None [1]
[*]Hyperdrive Class: Average (1.25; class 15 backup)
STANDARD FEATURES

[*]Environmental Systems:

[*]Medical Bunk
[*]Navigation System

[*]Propulsion Systems:

[*]WhisperThrust Engines (with Vectral Exhausts)
[*]Maneuvering Jets
[*]Repulsorlifts

[*]Sensor and Targeting Systems:

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:
  • A vessel designed to avoid - and evade - as many sensors, scans and detection methods as possible for optimal Chiss Commando operations.
  • Boasts a swath of technologies focused on stealth ship operation and function, from near-undetectable flight and anti-sensor coatings to adjusting gravitational mass to avoid mass detectors used against cloaking devices.
  • The Vanish 2 Military Sensor Masking System has been modernized by Chiss engineers, and is considered an excellent alternative for stealth ships lacking a cloaking device.
  • Individually articulating landing claws allow for safe landing on basically any terrain, and also allow pilots to attach to vertical surfaces for unconventional landings.
Weaknesses:
  • A craft focused on stealth, favoring speed and evasion over attack capabilities; has minimal cannons and a single warhead launcher.
  • The Chiss Hyperdrive is still susceptible to interdiction effects.
  • Vessel speed can be a factor in detection, anything quicker than cruising speed runs high risk of voiding engine stealth cover.
  • While highly capable as a stealth vessel on a sensor and detection level, it does not use a cloaking device, and can be visually seen where sensors may fail.
  • Limited range and damage capability with main turret weaponry, lacking punch to damage hardier vessel classes or vehicles.
  • Rear of vessel more vulnerable to attack, with limited defensive weaponry angling that direction.
  • A very expensive vessel manufacturing cost.
Description:
The Chiss Commando Transport is a highly guarded secret within the Chiss Ascendancy, and primarily serves as a stealth vessel that supports commando operations. The likelihood of seeing this vessel in open combat is highly unlikely, instead the advanced stealth systems and components are better suited for avoiding conflict. Armed with an impressive array of sensor, targeting computer and communications avoidance/jamming equipment, its main strength is sneaking into and out of mission areas. And while lacking the punch of other ships, it has fast engines and a tough shielding system to ensure a relatively safe getaway.

Equipped with the new standards of the Chiss Ascendancy, including anti-sensor detecting and anti-targeting systems and baffling coating composites, the Commando Transport is a formidable stealth vessel capable of avoiding a lot of military-grade systems. The lack of a cloaking device allowed for other systems to be included, such as a single medical bunk that allows medics to operate on wounded soldiers en route to base, and also larger servos for the individually articulated landing claws. These landing claws allow for unprecedented landing capability, compensating for most terrain and also vertical attachment.

All in all, an advanced stealth vessel, designed to avoid numerous sensor and detection methods; though it's lack of firing power and no cloaking device mean pilots must be careful and aware of approach vectors.

Description: The Chiss Ascendancy is a primarily Chiss based faction located in the Unknown Regions. The goal of the CA is to begin expanding borders to encompass what is known as Chiss Space, before extending further outward into the Unknown Regions. Along the way, we plan to take part in alliance threads, create our own plots (one occurring now is the Chiss Civil War), and basically play the map game according to how we want to grow.

At present we have a dozen members across all divisions of the CA, allowing for PCs to be in every military group we have. Over time, through story development and plot advancement, the aim is to replace Governors, ruling houses, and higher military ranking positions with PC players. This will provide reward for effort put in, and give players a goal to strive toward.

Because of the niche group status (being Chiss, which aren't as common as Jedi or Sith), we've worked hard at slowly increasing interest and member count. It's taken a while, but we've gotten to a point where our members are eager to join the map and cut out a slice of the galaxy for the faction.

The Pitch: Our main reason for wanting to become major is that we want to establish Chiss Space on the map. We also want to bring another kind of faction to the map game, one that isn't Sith or Jedi or Empire or Republic, those are very common types of factions on any RP community. The Chiss are more unique, have interesting backgrounds and canon/lore, and we want to provide a fun and competitive opportunity to explore a less played species and culture.

The CA has been a slow burn minor faction, there's no denying it. We've struggled with numbers, struggled with interest, and it's been a difficult trek to reach the status we are now. But, through perseverance, some much appreciated inclusion into ally plots, and having an excellent plot hook for people to get behind (overcoming a civil war), we have reached a place where we have everything we need to apply.

We've also spent a lot of time and effort on preparing and submitting submissions and working on our resources.

Right now, we are expanding faction threads, to show activity and prove we can try to make something of being a major. It can be difficult for a niche group to get the numbers and interest we have, so we don't want to waste it, and hope the staff agree it's a good opportunity to see the CA grow.

Past Roleplay Threads:
  • Stoking The Forge Of Alliance - Both the CA and TSE meet to discuss possibility of alliances, despite some reservations about Sith.
  • Opportunity Presents Itself - Both CA and FO meet to discuss possibility of alliances, both factions having similar methodology.
  • Playing With The Big Boys Now - Members of the CA and its sub-factions assist TSE in invading the Jen'ari occupation on Csilla, beginning a Chiss Civil War.
  • 21st Commandos - The 21st Commando unit are introduced to their latest member, having a chance to get to know her before their next assignment.
  • Of Truth and Traitors - The Empire of the Hand have agreed to meet with the Chiss Ascendancy, to discuss how both can overcome past differences to pursue a better future or the Chiss.
  • Death World Five - A Chiss exploration teams discover a planet covered in tunnel systems, and explore.
  • The Pact of Black and Blue - In the wake of the Jen'ari/CA civil war, TSE assists its ally in reaffirming control of Chiss Space.
  • An Accord - Representatives of both the CA and TJE meet to sign a neutrality agreement, with Chiss Space once more under CA influence. (plot planned to begin)
  • Vital Assets - Following a surprise pirate attack, the CEDF pursues them back to their base, and organizes a supply raid. (plot planned to begin)
  • Lay Waste To Them All - The pirates return en masse and attack the CEDF and Empire of the Hand, resulting in a large clash between forces. (plot planned to begin)
