Tis the Season [SJO Winter Ball]

Location: Main Hall

Hyonu thoughts were interrupted by the Master of the Order. The man had terrible jokes but seemed to be good at the whole words of wisdom and encouragement. The pat and the words he shared with the Seoulian Doctor made the night seem not as awkward. Though the longer Hyonu thought about what he said and that smile he gave him, the man waved quickly. “Master Dragonsflame I think you have- “Before the frantic Dr. Ye could explain the situation, [member="Josh DragonsFlame"]’s attention had been taken by the women on his arms.

“It’s not like that…?” His words were quiet and hushed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He liked to deny it, but he was looking forward to seeing Ciana tonight for some reason. The woman had the ability to push him to his limits, have him throwing a fit, but then actually smile. She drove him insane and Hyonu wondered if she was good for his health.

As he stood there contemplating his situation, a voice broke through his mile minute thoughts. Looking over, the man noticed the woman he had been waiting for with a group of people. Looking down at his gift, he wondered if he had missed the memo that he needed to get several. She was polite to him, so instead of his usual dry and tactless charm, the doctor nodded his head in a slight bow in return. He watched her lips form over the word relatives and he nodded somewhat understanding. The word was foreign to him, but he found a smile as the small boy in her arms giggled.

“At least someone enjoys how I dress.” Hyonu smiled and removed his hat and plopped it on the small boy’s head. “Aish, he looks better in it than I do.” The man was playful with the boy as he gave him his full attention for the time being. “What’s your name, namdongsaeng?” Seeing the child happy, Hyonu nodded and looked towards Ciana – “Are they visiting?” Pausing, he wondered if he was going to be forward, but it would be nice to have the feel of family around this time of year – a feeling he wasn’t quite used to anymore. “Should I introduce myself?” The gift he brought hide behind his back as he smiled towards the woman, “I’d like to meet them.”

"The turkeys are now ready to eat!" Varindar announced, once the gravy was finished.

The question being: how long would it be until anybody in the Main Hall actually ate the turkeys she just spend hours to cook? Gravy was one of the very first recipes she even cooked in that restaurant on Trandosha, which was used in the grill restaurant on Corellia as well. She used telekinesis to pull each turkey from the wood-fired stove and into each table, on which the turkeys would be the centerpiece. Now that's some serious turkey cooking taking place; I hope Yuroic will actually cook something else for us - I can't cook too many meals by myself and turkeys are a lot, when compounded with the gravy, she thought, with a bucket-ful of gravy being split into several saucers for the purposes of the meal. Then again, she knew that [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] was also a contestant in the Great Galactic Cook-Off, much like her, and presumably he would be able to cook as if in a five-star restaurant's kitchen. And other guests would soon start to eat and, hopefully, be grateful for five-star cooking; if she was to cook other items, they'd better make special orders now.

Main Hall:

The small stage in the Main Hall soon lit up, lights shining in festive colors. Back stage, a small group of younglings giggled with excitement. Music started to play and the young ones marched out on the stage, each of them dressed in holiday sweaters and knitted hats. Behind them, a couple lines of padawans and knights followed.

As the choir sang, the lights in the hall dimmed to a gentle glow.

In the center of the hall stood the Tree of Life, a celebratory custom of the Kashyyyk Wookies. A few of the village elders were even present to light the tree for the first time. As the music swelled, the lights began to shine – illuminating the hall in a lively display.

The last detail to come to life was the silver star that sat atop the tree – also adorned with the symbol of the Silver Jedi Order. Indeed it was a time to celebrate, a time to enjoy the company of friends and loved-ones.

The music would continue for some time, it was time to dance!

Eustachya dropped her eyes as soon as Rhane's tone did the same. She did not know what to wish for Novan: was it worse to pass out of life or to fall to the Darkness? ...Eucha needed to stop thinking in absolutes, black-and-whites, for maybe the padawan had just thought to slip quietly back into the simple life of a civilian, as she herself had barely been convinced from doing.

At the end of her potential master's utterance, however, she looked up. Offering a small smile, she said, "I am sorrowful to hear of your loss, Master. If you truly are ready to take on another learner, I would be more than happy to oblige." She didn't know anything about his personality, class, or exploits, rather than the aforementioned Battle of Corellia, that much was true. It was hard for even her to understand, but, if she squinted her third eye, she could see a promising, lit path awaiting her.

Just then, everything that was slightly reflective--the wine glasses, the marble pillars and floors, the side of her ceramic mug, even the back of her fair hair--caught the golden light of the Tree of Life. She glanced over her shoulder and could not help a small, joyous laugh. She knew the light to be electric, for she had quizzically examined them upon entering. How did that work, she wondered, but, then again, she wondered how much of this new world turned. For now, she would let it alone and bask in the majesty of it all to her.

Thanks to you, Alkest, she thought in praise of the chief god of the Novious pantheon and ruler of both life and the stars, thought by the Sargus Novians to be the best fate possible of the dead: to become a light in the sky, never to be forgotten. Back at home, there was an annual festival held on the winter solstice similar to this Kashyyyk custom for Him, so, even if it had not been for Idris, the night would have felt somewhat familiar and comfortable to Eustachya. That I survived the Iceway and that I found a new life. With any luck, she might be able to cheat death, so to say, and become a beacon akin to the stars in a greater galaxy she had only begun to learn about.

Then, music stuck up louder throughout the hall, this time accompanied by voices. If she had not known better, the pious Sargus Novian would have thought the nymphs of merriment had followed her through the wine-dark starsea to the Silver Rest. Her smile only grew, but she turned back to Rhane.

"But, merriment abound, Master," she said, attempting to make him glad once again. "Mayhap our business can wait until tomorrow?"

There was something about Kashyyyk in the winter, the way the snow clung to the trees reminded Asaraa of a Christmas tree..only these trees were gigantic and there were a lot of them. It was like a fleet of star destroyers had swung by Hoth and then unloaded their icy cargo onto the unsuspecting planet below. In fact, she stared up at the clear starry sky, she wasn't entirely sure they hadn't. The girl gave the fleet she knew was arrayed up in the darkness an almost imperceptible nod as she lowered her head, turning her attention to the ballroom around her. It seemed that the silver Jedi Order would have some kind of social event every few months, not that that was a bad thing at all. Everyone was so busy with their missions all over the galaxy that this was important, it was a way to reconnect with friends and fellow Jedi in a less stressful environment. Well, a somewhat less stressful environment, as it was a lot of the Jedi found it harder to unwind and destress, either because of a love of work or just a fear about the image they'd portray. She'd had the same problem in her first social event but, she glanced around suspiciously, it didn't look like there were any pirate types who could spike the punch, but even so, better safe than sorry.

The girl leaned over, one elbow gently prodding [member="Caedyn Arenais"] in the side as she nodded at the required punchbowl sitting in the middle of the buffet, "What about it, do you think we managed to make it in before the punch got spiked?" She knew the staff would probably be on alert for anything like that, especially with all the younglings and padawans running around underfoot, but then a tipsy Caedyn would be an interesting sight to see. The pink-haired Jedi gave her boyfriend a speculative look, glancing over at the bar for a moment before shaking her head and slipping one arm through his, pushing up onto her tiptoes to brush her lips across his cheek. "I'm glad you managed to make it out here for this. It wouldn't have been the same without you...besides," her free hand plucked at the red material of her dress, "it means I get to dress up for the occasion."

Caedyn Arenais

Caedyn Arenais wasn't exactly the type to get all dressed up, even when it came to the celebration of his home-world's renewed freedom; yet when [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] had invited him to the Silver Jedi's Winter Ball, the anxiety of letting her down had got the best of him and Cae had forced himself to dress appropriately for the occasion, if not only to please her. There was also the high likelihood that he'd probably be surrounded by Asa's friends and family, as far as Jedi Families were concerned. His previous time spent with the Silver's had been short-lived, though by no means had they given him a bad impression, it was more Caedyn's concern that he may have proven unreliable. The fact was that it had been a rather turbulent time in his life, Asaraa could certainly vouch for that as she'd thrown herself head-first into a battle that wasn't her own, proving just how good a person she was in Caedyn's eyes.

A ginger elbow to his side brought his attention back to the party at hand, causing Caedyn to glance sideways at Asaraa with a briefly questioning gaze, his mind seemingly taking a moment before registering what she'd said to him. "Sounds good...-Though who's to say I won't be the one to change things up a bit?" he smirked to her, taking her hand in his and giving it a playful squeeze. Of course, it was only a taunt, as he didn't exactly want to look bad in-front of all of her peers. Despite his wanting to take the time away as a chance to relax and enjoy himself, he couldn't help but feel he were standing in the midst of the proving grounds like back on Aurum. It was something of a comical thought, and hopefully the day'd go well enough that he wouldn't be chased away by any of her former teachers or some such role.

"I told you I would" He smiled, a genuine look of care for her as they began to walk in the general direction of the punch-bowl. Life had quietened down, and the Je'daii Order wasn't what it used to be, so Caedyn had been doing a lot more travelling and exploring of the Galaxy hoping to gain a little more experience and personal growth on his own. That said, he didn't like to stray too far from his Girlfriend for too long a time and often always found some way to make sure she didn't get distracted and forget about him!

"Besides, I couldn't miss out on a chance to see you in that" he glanced down at the dress she wore, an entirely different kind of beauty than he had seen of her before now. Words didn't do justice to how good she was looking, and he was truly proud to be alongside her for the ride.

Yuroic turned to Syd and listened. He was quiet during her questions and thoughts as well as her fears. All he did was nod his head and show non-verbally that he was paying close attention to what the woman had to say. It was better to let her have her say than to constantly interrupt. At least, Yuroic found that the best to deal with the situation at hand. He could tell that the calming aura had increased her openness which was not his intent but could be beneficial for her in the long run. Bottling things was never the answer, that came from experience in Yuroic's case.

"Meaning of life. Well, that is a big question. Didn't expect to have this talk so early in the night, or during the night at all. However, you should know, everyone will tell you a different answer. Love is one answer, finding love, discovering it and embracing it. That is all that's need to complete your life and give it meaning. However, I lean into the fact that there is more to life than just love, not as romantic as others though. Finding something you enjoy, something that makes you feel whole as a person could be another answer, problem is, how do you know if you feel whole? What if something you enjoy is something horrible? It's tricky, at least I think so."

His attempt was to offer suggestions, ideas that others had that she could take into account, however, he was being critical so that she knew that they weren't the perfect answer. In Yuroic's mind, there was no perfect answer. "Life could just be a path forged by the Force, our choices having limited input into where we go and what we do. My point is, I can't tell what to do with your life, no one can tell you what to do with it but you. We aren't slaves and we can do as we like. I like to read, learn, speak to new and different people, hence why I speak so many alien languages. I also try and better my skills in combat and push my Force skills. I teach young learners when I can and I help those that need my help. I had love once, long ago but nothing is forever. Just, live, enjoy yourself and I find, never take yourself too seriously."

As he finished his point, he noticed that Asaraa had arrived. His former Padawan looked splendid in her dress, he was proud of her achievement to reach Knight like he was. He knew that she was a skilled person with a lovely personality. Often he thought about how he'd likely see her reach Master rank before he would, only because he never felt as part as the Order as a Master should. Before he could give a wave to gesture her over, he noticed that a boy was with her. This boy was trouble, Yuroic could tell right away, instant dislike which only increased when he could tell that they were a couple on a date and not just friends. Turning to Syd, "excuse me, I just saw a friend that I want to say hello to, if you want to talk more later then find me after the party and I shall help with anything you need." His offer was genuine as he could tell the woman needed help. Yuroic finished his drink and wandered over to Asaraa and her boyfriend.

"Hey Asaraa, you look wonderful tonight. Who might this be?" Yuroic asked in a semi-friendly tone but his eyes were dark and stern, his tall, muscular figure towering the young man as Yuroic crossed his arms.

Well at least it wasn't only her people with an eye for frivolous balls.

Samka Derith, or Elizah as these people knew her, had grown steadily more sceptical of these events. As a teenager she had adored them but with each passing occasion, she had come to them more and more and meaningless distractions. Fine for civilians but the important people such as herself surely had better things to do. It was almost reassuring to see the Jedi wasted their time and resources on the same things.

Perhaps she could enjoy it. It was beautiful, no doubt, and the music was far from bad. She'd tried some of the snacking and it too was good. The problem was the company. Do-gooders, morons and the insane made up the standard repertoire of the Silver Jedi's social gatherings. They weren't all bad but their company was exhausting for her and their way of being social was by 'getting to know one another', an odious concept for the young agent.

After dodging the fourth visitor eager to pester the mysterious pale girl on the sidelines wearing an ill-fitting red dress (perhaps some sort of joke from Jyoti), she'd had enough. The Ren disappeared among the people in a way only a trained agent could, weaving in and out of the crowds like a leaf following a stream. She grabbed a winter jacket from the sides and draped it over herself. Woolly gloves, a hat, a scarf and boots followed. She wrapped her scarf around carefully, certain to cover the security collar she still wore to her chagrin. Hopefully those were communal. She'd return them soon if not.

She had to remain near the premises but the outside was better than the inside so she took her leave, moving back through the front door with a determined stride so that none looked at her twice. Having left without being challenged, Samka sighed happily, watching her breath caught in the chilly air. Snow was something she'd seen rarely, only ever on missions where her focus was elsewhere - mostly concerned on the logistical issues such weather caused rather being able to admire its beauty. A faint smile appeared on the edge of her lips as the young woman huddled into the shadows, setting pace for somewhere a little more secluded and away from the bustle of the Jedi social gatherings. She crossed the landing pad and headed towards the snow draped trees. A tour of nature might be in order. It's what she did in the jungles by the Bastion of Ren, perhaps the frozen forests of Kashyyyk might offer their own charm too.

It didn't take long for someone to recognize and come to meet with [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], as expected. Caedyn Arenais smiled in response to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]'s commenting on how lovely she was looking. He certainly couldn't fault the older man on his eyes, she really did look quite beautiful.

Yuroic's attention soon turned back on the younger Lad however and he couldn't help but wonder what it was Caedyn was seeing in the look the man gave him, accompanied by a tone that might have been giving the third degree, had he not only asked a single question. If he didn't know better, the man seemed to be a little concerned about Caedyn's presence there...-Was it because of Asaraa?

"Hi there.." Caedyn responded politely, offering his right hand in a formal gesture that Yuroic might shake it in mutual greeting "...-I'm Caedyn". It was important to him that he didn't make a bad impression for Asaraa's sake; it mattered a great deal that she not be given reason to be disappointed in him. Not to mention the obvious want to get along with those that might be important figures in her life here within the Silver Order. "It's nice to meet you" He'd conclude, regardless of whether Yuroic took his hand or otherwise.

"I've not been on Kashyyyk for a little while now...-I think the last time, I met a Master...-Dragonsflame?" He glanced sideways at Asaraa, hoping he pronounced the name correctly. The meeting had been brief and difficult to recall upon now as it had been the very first day he'd reached the Silver Jedi home back then. Turning back to Yuroic however, he continued; "Asaraa's told me a lot about the Silver Jedi...-Who do I thank for the invitation?" He grinned, hoping that he wouldn't be the only one to do so.

If the Force was going to be kind today, this wouldn't go down so bad...-Right?

The former sith had stopped calling herself that a lifetime ago or at least it seemed that long. That empire had destroyed her life and she turned her back on them, severing all ties to them. Now spending far more time with her friends and Josh, she had invited him to join her for a party. Now it was his turn and he invited her to join him and his friends.

Her party had been something more like a casual gathering, meeting and just hanging out. It turned out, the Silver's put on something more formal and Ra had certainly come prepared. Having once been told she would probably look good in emerald, she was giving that color a try.

She picked a gown that shimmered in the light and had one shoulder bared. On the other was a sash that connected to the dress with a jeweled brooch. Walking with Josh and Jason, she was feeling a bit naked. Not having brought any weapons was odd to her, but she wanted to gain the trust of his friends. Why not go in wearing no weapons? Besides if anything bad were to happen, it wasn't going to be her starting anything.

Walking next to Josh, they entered the Hall and he made some small talk with a few people while she was just his silent companion. They moved on and Josh said who he was looking for. Ra didn't know the entire story of their relationship, but had the feeling there was more to it than what they had told her. Maybe the whole story would become known to her in time.

Seeing the face of Jason light up though was nice and Ra could tell he liked Madalena.

"Nice to see you again."

As she waited, one of the waiters passed by with a tray of drinks. Madalena wanted to abandon her vow of no drinking at all considering the hellish events of the days before, and her hand reached for one of the tall glasses of bubbly drinks. She was just about to take a sip from it as well when she felt the familiar presences of Josh and Jason approaching. She put the drink away and plastered a smile on her face, one that would also be given to Riamah, who now was there with every social interaction she had with Josh. Madalena had no problem with that and she felt a certain fondness for the woman, but she did plan on asking Josh for some quality time alone when they both had the time for it. There were things she couldn't talk with him about when others were around.

But since Jason was there, that meant that Josh and Riamah got ignored for a moment as she went down on a knee, not caring about her dress, and gave the kid a great big bear-hug. "Hey kiddo," she whispered before giving him a kiss on the cheek and then standing up, offering Josh the same hug, and a friendly nod to Riamah, who would be receiving hugs in the future when they knew each other a little better.

"Where I'm from we say Merry Sithmas," she said with a little smile, "how am I supposed to give season's greetings here?"
Josh would smile and hug Madalena tight when she would approach them. Though he let out a snort when Madalena would ask how in the world she was supposed to give season's greetings.

"Life Day, Maddy. It's called Life Day" Josh would respond, letting out an amused sigh in response. "I don't know where "Merry Sithmas" came from considering I doubt Sith even celebrate anything besides murder and destruction" He joked. "Or do they just name every second Tuesday after themselves? Is there a Madalena Day next Tuesday? I'll bring the cheese and crackers."

Jason though, had begun tugging on Josh's shirt, pointing toward the food tables. "Daddy! Food!" Jason would whine, clearly wanting to get to the table before the good stuff was gone. Josh would laugh a bit in turn as he would hoist Jason up onto his shoulder. He couldn't blame him, the smell of food was overwhelming and if they didn't hurry, then there wouldn't be anything good left. Even Josh's mouth was starting to water a bit from all the different smells, how had Jason lasted this long? "Alright, shall we, then?" He asked the group. Josh would then lead them to the tables, so that Jason could eat his fill. While Josh was stacking up food for the lot of them, he would look toward Madalena and Ra.

"How're you guys planning to celebrate the holidays?" He would inquire. "Ra, do you have any family you might be planning to visit?"

He knew that Madalena only had her brother, who was... Somewhere. But Ra's family was a big question mark. He knew she'd been with the Sith a long time before now, if she had family, had she reconnected with them? He knew she considered Stardust a sister, despite his reservations.

As for Josh, well... His Life Day had become a little bit... Hmm...

They hated him.

How could they not? The Master Of The Order - His brother - had definitely told this Silver Assembly what he had come here to do. He had intended to capitalize on the Silver Jedi's reputation - at the behest of his now former Master - of taking in those that claimed they needed help and guidance even if that person was a Sith like he. Sure, he didn't have his memory at the time and unlike him, his Master knew that his brother would let him in with open arms and inadvertently set the trap... But it had been his decision to follow through all the same. He had attempted to make the trip to Kashyyyk under false pretenses and before long... He had intended to escape the planet leaving a trail of as many bodies as he could. His brother had found out, somehow. How he'd figured it out, he didn't know. How he knew the exact ship he was on, he didn't know how. But the Assembly was ready for him, as had been the Master Of The Order.

And now here he was. With his memory, no longer a Sith... And walking the halls of the building he had not even a week ago intended to leave as the sight of a bloodbath.

His mind was... His mind was still not all there. He had two conflicting sets of memories now, and while he remembered his desire to have his own life... The dark side pulled at him stronger than before. What his "Master" had done to him was... Well...

Needless to say he didn't hold any regrets for killing him. Even if he did it for reasons of his own before he had ever regained his memories.

But at the behest of his brother, the former Sith attended this... Gathering. He didn't understand why, but he had insisted this would help him with re-acquainting himself back into society. But... Every step was careful, every step was slow and calculated, under the impression that any one of these Jedi might harbor resentment for what he had done over the years, and for what he had intended to do originally when he had come here. Every step was met with a look around as if one might draw their blades, make up an excuse, make up a reason... And then the rest would follow. Why wouldn't they? They would believe their "brother" over the Sith that had come here with the intention of killing a good portion of them, he knew. And without the element of surprise any longer, he stood no chance if things were to escalate into a conflict.

Madalena blinked in response to the snort. Had she said something wrong? Josh said they said Life Day, which was perfectly fine, she had asked him what the custom was, but the barrage of words that came after that had been completely uncalled for.

"I asked what the proper saying is so that I could follow it along," she shot at him, the expression on her face showing how obviously unhappy she was with his response, "Sith celebrate things as well, but you're too much of a butthole to even ask about it, you just slide directly into making fun of it."

She was fuming now. It didn't matter that he was trying to make a joke. It wasn't funny. She was already spread thin with all these stupid balls and parties, her brother was something that she could not stop thinking about, and the last thing she needed was for Josh to decide to be a butthole as well.

"I suddenly find myself sick and tired of celebrations," Madalena said then, calmer, but obviously still incredibly unhappy, "so I'll be taking my leave. Happy Life Day, butthole."

With that she rose from the chair, leaving the other three as they were. There was no need for a Confederate representative that day. And obviously, there was no space for her right there and then either.

Josh frowned at Madalena's reaction. When she turned though, he gently took her arm. He didn't pull, and if she wanted to pull away and leave, it was fairly easy to. But his expression had softened. He was wholly aware he'd done wrong, and the joke had been in bad taste. He didn't always realize that until it was too late.

"No, you're right" He spoke softly. "That was wrong of me. My apologies, Madalena."

The last thing he wanted was to upset her, especially during the holidays. He'd promised to help her make this new life of hers a happy one. So if he needed to watch himself a little more? So be it. A new year was coming and with it... Reflection. It was something that he'd have to take into consideration. He wanted to better himself, and this would have to be a start. He just hoped she wasn't too mad. He knew that she was under a lot of stress as it was, what with what had happened with her brother and everything. He wanted to be there for her, not tear her down as he had.

"If you want to go, it's fine. But I really do want you here" He would add quietly as he gingerly released her arm. "You're family, as far as I'm concerned."

It took everything she had not to send a punch flying in Josh's face's direction when he touched her arm. Madalena might not have been screaming and breaking things, but she was livid in that moment. Instead, her body froze and tensed in response to his touch. It was better than the alternative.

"That's right," she answered, looking at him dead on. Not quite as furious as a second ago, since his apology did soften her somewhat, but still angry, "We're family, and I am a Sith. Sith are not above killing family members. So you better remember that."

Now that her threat had been aired, Madalena flashed Josh one of her widest and most genuine of smiles, and kissed his cheek before returning to her seat, winking at Jason, who was enjoying his food.

"I decided not to take any time off these holidays," she said, bringing the conversation immediately back to where it had paused moments ago, a rib in her hands, ready to tear it apart with her teeth, "It's going to be mission after mission for me yet again."

They hadn't even been there five minutes before things started to go sour. Maybe it was parties. The one she had invited Josh to had also gone sour within a few minutes. Bad enough they had needed to excuse themselves for a time while both of them calmed down.

It was all very odd though and Ra actually showed a bit of confusion though. Madalena was totally furious one moment and then not. Lifting an eyebrow, she attempted to keep Jason distracted while she and Josh figured things out.

Within seconds, Madalena was sitting with them again and carrying on like nothing had just happened. Looking at the other woman when she mentioned other missions, Ra finished chewing her bite of food before speaking. Setting her fork down, she made a small motion and indicated she was interested.

"What missions do you have planned?"

Not forgetting the question Josh had asked her, she gave Madalena time to answer before turning to Josh.

"No I have nothing planned outside of spending time with you and Jason."

Samara should have been more aware, but she had been lost in thought before the unlit tree when an old friend came up behind her; one totally not expected on this planet, this day. The honey blonde turned to see her old mentor standing there. Boy was Kahne a sight for sore eyes.

"Master Porte!" Sam exclaimed in delight, then the young healer stepped forward and gave the dark-haired Naboo a friendly embrace. "It is so good to see you too," she smiled warmly, then a small blush appeared on the Liann's cheeks as he commented about her apparent daydreaming.

"Well, maybe just a little.... It's the magic of the wondrous season I suppose," the Knight grinned sheepishly, then the tree lit up and a choir began to sing a festive song.

"You look well, Master. How is Alexandra, and the twins? Are they with you?" she inquired of the man who had taken the floundering padawan at the time under his wing and given Samara so much hope after Master Taunte had become one with the Force.

She was here for the holiday festivities having made sure Marcus would be taken care of. Yet Jairdain wasn't at home here. Welcomed, but still an outsider. It was probably good her life's path had taken her away from the Silver's. Life Day though was something where she could relax and be away from Commenor and any other work she had.

After picking up her present and returning to her quarters to put it away, she now walked the halls unsure of where to go. The Force guided her and the familiar sense and presence of Nicholas was nearby. A man she had met more than once now and maybe there was a reason for it.

He had helped her before, now it was her turn to help him. Following where she sensed him, Jairdain openly approached with a friendly look about her. Now she was on the path she was meant to be. No longer chained by Krest or the Sith and it appeared he was free as well.

"Nicholas, it is good to see you again. How are things?"

Stopping in front of him again, there was no way he would miss her. Though like before, she did not reach out to touch him and kept that distance between them.

Pash Tafo

Guest
As the well-worn Y-wing floated over the landing pad, Pash noted how different Kashyyk appeared from when he had left. Snow adorned the mountains and forests surrounding Silver Rest, and the enclave itself was decorated for some winter holiday. The long journey left Pash unsure of the date of his arrival on Kashyyk, until he began to make his way from the hanger towards the compound and the main hall.

Life Day.

The Matukai had arrived just as the festivities were beginning it seemed, as people made their way towards the main hall and courtyard decked out in festive clothing. Music carried on the cold air, and a slight, chilled breeze brushed against the evergreen boughs and red bows that hung throughout Silver Rest. Pash was sadly underdressed, still in his Matukai robes after a long flight in the small cockpit of the snub fighter. He thought to retrieve his gear and change, but he assumed his room had been given to someone else in his absence, so other arrangements would have to be made. Instead, he found a 'fresher and washed up, straightened his clothes and ran his fingers through his hair, and hoped for the best.

Stepping into the main hall, the great chamber was beautifully decorated and filled with milling people. It was a far cry from the day he had met Master Norran in the hall, where she welcomed the wayward force adept to stay among the jedi. Pash had not been at Silver Rest long before he set out for some 'soul-searching', so most of the patrons of the party were unfamiliar to him. He did see Josh Dragonsflame, the master in a serious discussion with a woman that looked very much like Sherezade DeWinter, a woman who had mistaken Pash for her dead father. He had worked briefly with the Sith woman before they parted ways.

As usual, the food and drink table drew Pash's attention and among the fare he found a dish he had not had since leaving Kashyyk, small round pastries called Loukoumades, a dish native to Sargus Novia. And he knew just one person from that planet. The Matukai Adept's eyes then looked around for the baker of the pastries. There, he thought he spotted her, on the other side of a hulking Besalisk jedi master. They were engaged in conversation, so, as the lights lowered and all eyes turned to the festival tree's illumination, Pash helped himself to the delicious pastries.

Bowing her head slightly, Eustachya took her leave, walking back over to the hors d'oeuvres. As she perused the variety of dishes spread out before her, Eustachya furrowed her brow. She tried to stay optimistic, but it was times like these, where something as simple as food perturbed her, that she doubted if she would ever get used to her new life as a Jedi.

Idris, having likewise given Master Varless his farewell, joined his friend. "Are you finished with that?" he asked, eyeing her half-finished cocoa. Without glancing up from her overwhelming amount of choices, the Sargus Novian shook her head and answered, "It is for Novis." Granted, she had no idea where she might pour out a libation to her chief god, but she would simply continue to carry the beverage about until she formulated a way.

Idris nodded; it was hard for the Ranger to fully understand the ways of Eustachya's religion, but, if it was important to her, it would be to him as well. Then he pointed to a plate of small sausages, wrapped carefully up in bread. "These are pretty good," he suggested, picking one pig-in-a-blanket up with a toothpick from a nearby container of them, and handing it to her. Taking one hand off her offering, she took it. After observing it from a few angles, Eustachya took a moderately-sized bite from one end. It was pretty good. She was about to thank her friend for the tasty suggestion, but she was interrupted by his comm blinking noiselessly as soon as she looked up at him.

"What news?" she asked the other blonde. "Just my alarm," he replied with a slight frown. "I gotta go. Early training tomorrow." "I understand. Merry day of Life, Idris." She smiled, though she didn't want her companion to leave, and he returned it. "You too, Eucha." With that, he turned to leave; a few strides away, he turned and called, "Be a little adventurous without me, yeah?" Turning herself to face him, she laughed. Yes, she would try her best to be; there seemed to be so much to do here that the young woman was not accustomed to.

Turning back to the table, Eustachya meant to return her attention to the dishes but, just as she dipped her head, her gaze caught onto a familiar form she had not seen in some time. Her head snapped back up. "Pash!?" she called, because though the width of the table was not great the hall was loud. Oh, Force, surely she had not had a premonition mere minutes before.
