Together again.(Keturah)

“I’m sorry.” he over stepped. It was not his business to question her. He never should of assumed she was unprepared. He looked at her sheepishly. He hoped he hadn’t offended too much.

Keturah smiled softly and placed a hand on his wrist. "Hey, it's okay. I'm glad someone's thinking about me." She hadn't intended for the comment to sound as meaningful as it did. After realizing this, she blushed and avoided Salvor's eyes.

An awkward silence filled the night air as the two of them wallowed in their embarrassment. Slavor began to speak and fumble a bit with his words. “I, uhm, would you mind if, or uh what I mean to say is. Would you like some company?” he had come to this planet for his own reasons but some how he could hardly recall what those reasons were. But spending time with Keturah felt like something he really wanted to do.

"That would be nice. It's a little daunting to be out there all alone." Keturah was even happier now. She truly enjoyed Salvor's company, even though they'd only met once before. Could it be that this was what someone felt when they really liked someone? She was beginning to think so.

she said yes. that was good. she could do what she was sent here to do and Salvor could keep an eye on her. "When do we leave?" he asked her. he was on her time now after all.

"Well, I was planning on leaving after the meal. It would be suicide to go into the Shadowlands at night, so I've arranged shelter with a local Wookiee tribe for the night. They'll be able to take us down to the forest floor in the morning." Keturah walked back to the door and looked back at Salvor. "So Salvor, are you ready for an adventure with me?" She grinned.

"I hope so" he did not return her smile. not because he was un happy or not excited but because he was becoming aware that he put his own desires behind her welfare. it was troubling to him. for the last couple of years all that has mattered was cultivating his talent and power. becoming the best was always the only thing that mattered and now, this girl, essentially a stranger comes along and he was letting her matter more. he followed after her, silently trying to calm his mind, ready to go foreword with their adventure.

Keturah noticed that Salvor didn't smile back. She wondered if something was wrong. But then again, he did like to stay quieter and more reserved than her. It wasn't unusual not to see him smile. So, she just shrugged it off and continued to the main entrance. They made their way to the forest edge. A very tall Wookiee was waiting for them. He led the two through the wood until they reached a walkway leading high into the trees. By nightfall, they were in the village. Keturah was fascinated by everything around her. It was all so new!

Salvor could feel a tension in the village. a tightness and sense of unease hung in the air. he watched the wookiees around them went about their own business not minding the two visitors one bit. he then realized the tension was coming from only him. he had expected to find this village to be a place full of savage war like creatures because that was all he saw of the wookiees in the gladiator pits of Geonosis. but here that was not the case. the village was simple but not backwards and the wookiees while large and certainly intimidating seemed incredibly peaceful. from now on he told himself his expectations on the galaxy needed to change.

"This place... It's amazing!" Keturah said, her eyes wide. She looked at the huts around them until she spotted the last one on the right. The quaint hut stood out from the others as it was a bit smaller. Built for the occasional alien visitors, no doubt. She signaled for Salvor to follow her as they went into it. The inside was cozy and comfortable. It appeared to have been prepared for them. Keturah went and sat down on one of the pallets made on the floor. "How great is this? Everything is so cozy!"

compared to everywhere else he had slept in his life this hut was a palace. he sat crossed legged on the pallet opposite of Keturah.

"It's very nice." he said with as much warmth as he could muster which was not much. he decided to ignore his conflicting feelings for now, so he could enjoy this place with Keturah.

"how did you manage to get this arranged for us?"

She shrugged. "Well, my dad has a lot of resources and connections. It was a simple matter of getting a request to the tribe along with payment for their trouble. I told them to prepare for two in case dad decided to send a guard with me or something. Luckily, you came instead." Keturah replied. Guards were always professional. They never talked to her unless they thought she was walking into danger. Salvor was different. She liked that.

Salvor didn't know how to do alot when it came to interacting with others but he knew how to listen.

"Who is your father?" sometime he didnt know how to turn off what Valturla had taught to him.

Keturah laughed as little. "My father is the Shadow King! Though, I only just recently became his daughter..." She didn't know if he was asking her who her biological father was or not. It was a difficult subject for her, so she answered with a truth she was comfortable with. She wished Romeo was her birth father. He was much better at being one.'

Shadow king? He had no clue what she was talking about, but thought it better that he not pry despite his curiosity. He had more questions though. What was this man king of? And what did he have planned for this planet? With all his resources why send his own daughter to a place this dangerous and unknown. Either her story didn’t add up or the man was not very competent.

“I, see.” that was the only response he could muster without interrogating her further.

Keturah pulled out her sonic emitter and began double-checking it to make sure it was still in proper order. She could tell that Salvor didn't know what she meant by her father being the Shadow King. She didn't want him to be left with questions, but there were things that she just couldn't say. Romeo had asked her not to be too open about the Shadow Empire with others outside it. But surely telling Salvor wouldn't cause an harm. Right? She lied down on her back, stretching out her legs. No need to worry about that just yet. "Salvor, I was wondering..... Well, um........" Keturah tried to form her next question without making it sound odd...

".........After that day on Taris, when you saved my life. Did you...... Think about me?" Keturah asked. She knew that she'd thought about Salvor a lot after their first meeting. It was burned into her mind like it was just yesterday.

"Yes." a simple answer as was usual with him. Salvor never felt the need to tell more than he had to but what he said was true. he had thought of her. for weeks he seethed in anger when he did, shamed by his own softness. at night he would dream of bright amber eyes and in the morning he would stay in bed just a few minutes longer hoping to see them again. it drove him to madness to think this girl had such a hold of him, could make him so unfocused. but once he saw her again the anger, the listlessness, the feeling of being lost was gone. she had some kind of magic over him.

Salvor's response made a deep warmth spread through Keturah's chest. Any feelings of nervousness or embarrassment melted away instantly. She turned her head and looked at him. "I thought about you, too," She replied. At times when she was just musing about her day, the golden-skinned Zabrak somehow managed to slip his way into her mind. Sometimes, when she closed her eyes, he would be there cold and brooding, his purple eyes softening when he looked at her. It was enough to make her smile uncontrollably at random moments.
