Two contracts, one target

Shae laughed at Mit's comments about the sacrifices. It was really funny and was definitely breaking the tension after the earlier awkwardness. "Hmmm, goddess? This pleases me," she said with a smile.

But she was seriously irked when the waiter returned with food for her and not for Mit. And to make matter worse, he tried to wave it off with a poor excuse! Shae grabbed the waiter by the wrist and held him firmly. "It is poor service to serve separately the people who are dining together. You will go into the kitchen and bring out his food now, or I will set fire to this place with you in it," Shae said seriously. Then she smiled. "I'm just kidding about the fire, or maybe I'm not... At the very least you will be out of a job because I will talk to the manager about firing you." She let go of the waiter and shoved him back in the direction of the kitchen. then she pushed her plate to the side to wait for Mit's meal to arrive before she started eating.

"Go ahead and eat. He'll have us both thrown out if he thinks you're serious about burning this place." He stayed silent for a moment, the waiter was sure taking his time. He would probably take as long as possible now, he didn't look like the kind of person to take threats lightly. "You made it awkward again. Dammit Shae, why do you have to make everything awkward?" He asked with a small smile. "Be honest, how many people do you have begging for a chance to be on the same planet as you?"

[member="Shae Kalin"]

Shae giggled, though she made no attempts to start eating as he suggested. She did, however, finish off her 'drink' in case they did have to make a quick escape. "I didn't mean to make it awkward, i swear! but he was being so rude!" Shae insisted with a soft laugh. It was nice to have someone who wasn't afraid to joke around with her. "And I don't know what begging you're talking about. I usually try to keep a low profile. Except when I, you know, have to set buildings on fire."

The waiter finally returned with Mit's meal, looking a bit pale at the prospect of either losing his job or being set on fire. Finally! Shae barked at the man to scare him away, chuckling as he scurried off. She drew her own plate closer to start digging in. Her steak had grown a little cold during the wait, but it was still delicious and tender, cooked to perfection. Aside from the ass-hat waiter, she wouldn't mind coming here again!

Mit grinned, only looking away for a second as Shae finished drinking from the Doom-Cup. "Hey, I'd beg. Unless of course, the planet was on fire. I'm not sure how long anything would last if you were the only one there. Actually, I'd beg even if the planet was on fire." He grabbed his plate, it was absolutely stuffed with some odd bread things and a massive bowl of some type of soup. It was great, everything about this place was great. Except the waiter. He was the only thing bad about the place. Overall, it was great. "I wonder if he was more worried about the place on fire, or himself getting fired?"

[member="Shae Kalin"]

"I would never set a planet on fire! Not alone, anyway, I'd definitely need help for that," Shae joked with a candid smile as she enjoyed her meal. Seriously though, she wouldn't ever do that! "And you don't have to beg to be near me. All you have to do is ask."

She was glad Mit was finally able to have his meal and that he was enjoying it. She still felt bad that she had gotten her meal first and put him through that awkwardness, and after he had been so nice offering to help her with her situation. Maybe she would set the waiter's pants on fire, a (mostly) harmless prank to amuse Mit. "Honestly, I'm surprised that wimp didn't piss himself either way..."

"Well, If I don't have to beg I suppose I wouldn't mind helping you burn the world!" Mit laughed before delving into his meal once more. "So, a little blood is all it takes to make a fox like you? Man if I knew that before you tried to shoot a fireball at my feet!"

Mit stretched, he had already been sitting for far longer than he had expected. The booth wasn't small by any standard, but it wasn't the most comfortable thing. "He still might. He would deserve whatever happens." He slid his plate to the side, already done with the food. Slumping back in the booth he stared over the table at Shae as she continued with her meal.

"Oh, I need a lot more than what you've offered me tonight, but it definitely took the edge off," Shae admitted as she finished her meal, then leaned back in her seat to enjoy the feeling of a full stomach. Ruferalhuin needed to consume a lot of Midi-chlorians to sustain them. Spread over the course of a month, it was a lot of little meals that could easily add up to her own body weight in either donated blood or scavenged flesh, which had more of what she needed. So since she was due for a large feed then she really should have eaten the doctor, but if Mit had been bothered by the sight of her drinking blood, then seeing her literally eating the flesh of another sentient would have been overboard, but she was content that at least Mit's offering took away the gnawing hunger. "Well, this was a positively delightful evening, all blunders aside. I finally got to finish my mission, got to set a building on fire, met a charming guy and shared a charming meal... It was a good day," she said with a warm smile.

Then she noticed him getting uncomfortable in his seat. "We can leave if you're ready to go," Shae said with a soft laugh. She had been contemplating desert, but on second thought she probably shouldn't, she did have a girlish figure to maintain...

"I'll sacrifice a wampa or something. I can only give so much blood, and me? Charming? Nah, not really." Mit said with a guilty look. "Yeah, lets get out of here. Where are you off to now?" He slid out of the booth, started to walk away, and stopped. he'd give Shae a minute to get up. Since she looked quite comfortable where she was. After a minute or so he started towards the door, hoping she would follow. "I'm guessing you don't want to leave that guy a tip." He called with a small smile.

[member="Shae Kalin"]

"I am not leaving that fool a tip," Shae confirmed with a laugh as she followed him. "And I wouldn't dream of taking anymore offerings from you, at least not for a long while. I prefer my companions to stay healthy. Do not worry about me, I will tend to my needs on my own time."

But that still left the question of where to go now... Shae hadn't made any plans for after she got the data, so where would she go from here? She didn't want to go back to the colony, all her ties to it were long dead. Part of her wanted to help the colony recover, but there were too many bad memories there from the outbreak. Besides, she had lived there for too long anyway, it was time to move on.

"What do you usually do in between jobs?" she asked Mit as they walked along.

"Uh, I don't usually spend any time between jobs. I've always have a few lined up. I'm afraid I don't have another though." Mit stepped through the wide door of the diner, holding it open behind himself. "Well, c'mon. we've gotta do something. I'm not giving up some blood just to walk away from the vampire fox." He started down the road, not planning on going anywhere specific. Just walking, and hoping Shae would follow. Whether or not there was any point in the walk. He liked Shae, she was nice, but weird enough to keep things interesting.

"Well, what's your next job? Maybe I can help?" Shae offered as she walked along side him, adjusting her bow and quiver over her shoulder. She didn't mind having traveling companions, or being a traveling companion for that matter, but never once had she made it a criteria for her companions to help her with her situation. Usually it wasn't so much of a situation, but she had let things get out of hand. "And I do not like being called a vampire. Strictly speaking, it is not the blood I need, just the Midi-chlorians."

"Foxy, I just told you. I don't have another job. Oh, and I'm sorry. I won't call you a vampire. Much." Mit said with a teasing laugh. "We should go find a job, I'm sure people would pay you to be their bodyguard for the day! They would love you, pretty archer girl saves a guy from a sudden winter, how? She burned down his house. Sorry, did I hurt your feelings again?" They had come to a busy intersection, vehicles passing through without a glance towards the pedestrians waiting to be able to cross. "We're going to be here forever."

[member="Shae Kalin"]

"Sorry, I am still a little distracted..." Shae said when he had to remind her that he had no work lined up. Mostly she was just trying to think of where they could go from here. Then she laughed at his little pyro joke. Yeah, she liked Mit, never a dull moment... "You didn't hurt my feelings. I normally try to minimize the damage I do on missions, but when it comes to fire... Well, it's kind of in my blood, so it's easy to go overboard when I start playing with fire."

"Believe me, I can tell. About the fire thing, and that you're distracted actually. That was pretty easy to tell, considering you told me." Mit replied as he slumped against the wall of some store to wait for the traffic to stop. Though it showed no sign of ever doing that. more time to think about what to do, anyways. "Wake me when you think of something would ya?" He grumbled. Teasing Shae was way too much fun. It was her own fault, there was ample supply to work with. Being a blood drinking fox was enough on its own.

[member="Shae Kalin"]

Shae chuckled softly as she watched the traffic speed by. "We could just go down to the spaceport and pick a random transport. that's what I usually do when I have nowhere in particular I need to go," Shae suggested. "I could also send out a few messages to some contacts, see if we can stir up some work."

"Working together for once might be nice, I'm not sure I want to be on the same ship as the pyromaniac, even if she is a friend." Mit said in an almost hushed voice. More work would be nice anyway. There was nothing left to do and the day was still quite early. One more job would make this feel like a productive day at very least. "Go find us a job, just don't make it a super long one."

[member="Shae Kalin"]

"Alright," Shae replied simply and looked around for another communication station. there was one about a block down the street, so she started walking, trusting that Mit wouldn't be far behind her. "So, do you think I have no self control whatsoever, or that I can only attack using fire? What makes you think I would be a danger on a ship?" she asked as they walked.

Mit fell in line next to Shae as they walked. He had run to catch up, and he was now breathing heavily. "Shae... Don't make me answer that question... Okay, fine, just don't hate me for it. You can make fire in your hand, and you seem to enjoy doing it. I wouldn't be able to trust that you weren't going to burn something out of boredom while we were in the middle of space." He said with an apologetic glance towards her.

"Mit, I'm not a cub who doesn't have the common sense not to do something so foolish," Shae replied, stepping up to a communication station. She didn't sound at all offended; he had a legitimate concern that she was correcting. "Even if something happened that necessitated its use while on a ship, I have enough control over my fire to not go overboard," she continued as she typed out a transmission and sent it out to a number of contacts. Then she stepped aside so other people could use the station, but remained close, leaning against a pillar while she waited for a reply to her messages.

"Sure you do. Still, I couldn't sleep with you playing with fire." Mit said with a slight shrug. He had leaned on the other side of the pillar, facing towards Shae's left. "So, I take it that you enjoy my company? Considering that you haven't ditched me yet. It could, and probably will, still happen though... I guess." He finished with a sigh. Any job would be welcome at this point, but it would be preferable if it wasn't a boring one.
