Two contracts, one target

"I do enjoy your company, although if you continue to insult my intelligence then we will be parting ways sooner rather than later," Shae stated in a strangely kind tone. "If you think I'm too dangerous, then it might be best for you to walk away now, because I do not tolerate idiocy very well."

"I'm sorry, I never meant to insult you, or your intelligence. I wouldn't feel safe with anyone messing with fire on a ship. I would prefer it if you to handle the fire, even over myself." Mit turned to look at Shae before continuing. "You and I both know that I'm not going to be the one to walk away."

"If a fire ever breaks out on a ship, you'll be thankful you decided to keep me around," Shae replied with a teasing smile. Her ear perked up when she heard a chime at the communication station. "So, if we hadn't run into each other, where would you be headed now?" she asked as she moved over to the station to check for messages.

"Oh I don't know, probably looking for work, same as now. I just wouldn't have anyone to talk to. Alone yet again. Hurray. So, what's up? Anyone order a shipment of fox rugs? I already have one too many of those." Mit said with a similarly teasing grin. He looked over Shae's shoulder to try and read any responses before she could.

"Well, doesn't seem like there's much on this world, at least nothing I'd be willing to do," Shae replied as she scrolled through a few listings her contacts had pulled up. "Mmmm, the only thing that looks interesting is a protection detail for some goods being shipped off-world. Looks like there's some trouble with the trades routes being pirated and some emergency medical supplies need to make it out of the system. Sound like something you'd be willing to do?" she asked.

"What aren't you willing to do?" Mit teased. "Sure, why not? When do we start? I was hoping I could get a bit of rest... I'm ready to go if we can though." He replied. Another defense deal, there were a lot of those. Most of them were for personal guards, quite a few were about pirates though. It looks like this was going to be no different than the others. THat was a good thing though, as long as the pirates weren't too well armed, It should be easy. Right?

"Well, I'm not into blatant displays of violence, and while I will kill someone if the motivation is there, I won't do it if my employer won't give me a good, feasible reason for it. I'm a bit of a bleeding heart, if there's people suffering then there's not much I won't do to help ease that suffering," Shae said as she looked through a few more ads. "But protecting medical supplies is a good cause. You want me to accept?"

"Yeah, go ahead and accept it. So there's a gentle heart inside that flaming body? I never would have known. I would have expected a fiery heart, for obvious reasons. Anyway, how much are they paying if we can get the supplies there with some... Minor scratches?" Mit asked before signalling to the waiting people behind them that they would be done in a minutes.

"Who says that passion and gentleness cannot coexist within a single being?" Shae countered with a smile as she accepted the job. She was immediately given the details of the job, which she transferred to a small datapad so she could vacate the communication station. "You've only known me for a short time, so of course I am full of surprises." She handed him the datapad to review the details while she started for the spaceport.

"I never said it couldn't. Just didn't expect it to. As for how long I've known you, it's not like I had any choice in the matter. Now stop rushing around for a second and wait for me!" Mit yelled with a wide grin, bolting after Shae to catch up. He slowed to pace next to her. The spaceport was only a few minutes walk from the comms station, but it was sure going to take longer than that with all the people streaming in and out of both buildings.

"You're taller than me, you're supposed to have the longer stride, so how am I outpacing you?" she asked with a laugh. "Hurry it up, slowpoke!" Shae didn't go straight for the docks, but rather a set of rental lockers. She pulled out a keycard and unlocked a locker, retrieving a duffle from within. Everything she owned was in that duffle, but such was the life of a drifter... Once she hefted her duffle over her shoulder, then she headed for the docks.

"I don't know! You had a head start!" He countered quickly. "What's in that?" He asked as they left the storage area. The crowd had thinned a bit, they may even make it on time for the first shipment of medical supplies. Which meant they could get to work sooner. Though they might need to do some explaining to the pilots, they probably wouldn't have been told about the two mercs yet.

[member="Shae Kalin"]

"This?" Shae said, looking at her duffle to confirm that's what he meant. "This is just my stuff. I carry pretty much everything I own with me wherever I go. And since I don't plan to come back here after this milk run, didn't make any sense to leave it here," Shae explained. They made it to the bay where the ship was docked and she found the Quartermaster loading the medical supplies. She handed over her datapad with the job orders she had accepted. He looked it over and returned the datapad to Shae, then she proceeded to check the cargo for tracking devices before allowing the Quartermaster to load it. Then after a moment of thought she looked over to Mit. "Do you need to grab anything before we leave?"

"No, the only thing on this planet that I need is coming on the ship with me." Mit teased, he glared at the quartermaster who was now snickering as he hefted another box onto the landing ramp and into the ship. "That guy's a jerk. I'm trying to be all charming and he just ruins it. Rude." He said with a slight smile. Yeah, this was going to be fun. A lot had already happened today, but only half of it had gone by. There was plenty more that could happen. Most of it involving the ship going down in a ball of fire. Nevermind, it was probably better if nothing happened during the rest of the day.
