"I would be for the plan, but I don't think we should vent it as soon as we find a more valuable item. I think it should still be decided on by Armand's credibility, and ability to make sure it doesn't fall into enemy hands." [member="DasGeneral"]

Alena shook her head, pulling the long silver cylinder Wan Min had given her out of her bag. With her other hand she drew her blaster. It wouldn't to much against Prudii's armor, but Alena didn't plan on shooting at him to begin with. She hit the activation switch on the lightsaber and jumped slightly as one of the vibrant blue-white blades leapt to life with a snap-hiss. The Mandalorian sounded reasonable enough, but Alena knew his main goal was to avoid a confrontation. She had to keep in mind however, he was a Rebel, and his loyalties could easily lay with them before anything else.
"I can't budge on this. It's been a thousand years and no one's thought to reinvent this stuff. The only reason we'd need a cure is if you accidentally get us infected with this stuff." Alena thrust the lightsaber forward, gesturing to Armand. "This isn't about anything except erring on the side of caution. If it turns out someone's got this stuff somewhere else, we'll deal with it then. If you want data to analyse for a cure, that's fine with me, but I can't let this stuff leave."
Alena knew she was on a slippery slope, Prudii was siding with the doctor and was clearly a far better fighter than she was likely to be. She didn't want to fight anyone, but felt the doctor was blinded by his eagerness, as good intentioned as it was. "Err on the side of caution, Armand. This Galaxy has enough problems as it is, bringing in one more to have to solve just isn't the right thing to do. Prudii, you can't guarantee safety here unless we destroy it all. No one's credibility or security measures can account for osik happens." Alena forced herself to breathe evenly; her nerves were screaming at her but her conscious wouldn't let her give. She began to feel this would either end with her dead or those samples destroyed.

Wan Min took a step to the left to look at both Skirata and Temi, as well as her friend who was visibly shaking. "Mister Skirata, in case you didn't notice, this ship is over three thousand years old! There's a snowball's chance on Mustafar that the One Sith still have this plague in their arsenal, the Sith Empire that made this stuff has been gone for three thousand years before the Death Star. If the Sith had this stuff before, Emperor Palpatine would have used it during the Civil War against the Outer Rim planets and he never did. Which means for all intents and purposes, this virus came to an end here on this ship."

"If we don't find a cure to that stuff in the next hour or so...Alena is right. I'm sorry. I can't just compromise on this. I've read too much history to let this slip by. The Gulag Plague got out and almost destroyed all of civilization because one crazed bioterrorist decided to take his anger out on the galaxy. We can't guarantee its safety on Hapes. No matter if the Hapes Consortium is at peace with the Republic or not, if the One Sith go for the guttural, hit the Hapes and find this stuff and the data from the old Sith Empire, they could target the Republic, they could KILL OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES. This stuff is as dangerous as the Gulag Plague according to that data. If there is no cure to be found on this ship, it's gone. Either I take it out, Alena takes it out, or Mister Piraiba over there takes it out. I...I can't just be a casual observer."

Min clipped the new lightsaber off her belt and ignited it. "We have one hour to get to the med bay and see about a cure. If there is none there or in the Republic medical database over there," she said and motioned to the computer banks, "I'll destroy it myself. I won't watch another Gulag Plague reach civilized space, not after we've just come back from the chaos of the Dark Centuries."

Prudii knew that his armor was real Beskar as it was more than a few centuries old. though he kept it in top condition, so he wasn't too worried about the saber. "Hold on there, I can't let you hurt anyone on this ship. Theres really no reason to be haryc b'aalyc at this point. We are trying to discuss this calmly, and waving around some dead Jetiise saber isn't going to help the situation." he heeld his ground not even flinching at the saber being thrusted towards him and Armand. "Put the saber away and make your point." [member="Alena"] [member="DasGeneral"]

Wan Min lowered the saber at Skiriata's statement. "I'm not aiming the saber at him, I'm aiming it at the virus sample, I would never hurt him," Min said as she deactivated the saber. "But, I stand on my statement that we either find the cure to go along with the virus, or that sample is gone within an hour. I won't have that on my conscience, Mister Skiriata, and I can guarantee that Forecaster wouldn't want us bringing this chit back with us to the Republic either. So, let's all of us leave this hole, find the med bay, and see once and for all whether or not the Republic found a cure. If it's not there, we look on those computer consoles back there. If its not there either, then the sample goes along with the rest of it."

[member="Verd Skirata"] [member="Alena"]

Alena frowned, the Mando'ad was intimidating enough on his own, she didn't need his words unnerving her further. "I've made my point, it's not worth the risk. Don't be an or'dinii about this, I'm not going to shoot either of you, just the samples." She paused for a moment, lowering the lightsaber slightly and made a visible action of turning down the intensity of her blaster. She chose to address him in their mutual native tongue. "Par ner mirjahaal, Prudii." Alena begged him. "Ibic me'sen ganar jate'shya dinuie, ya?"

1: or'dinii, [idiot, moron]
2: Par ner mijahaal, [For my peace of mind]
3: Ibic me'sen ganar jate'shya dinuie, [This ship has better gifts]

"I have no doubt it does, and Miss Brightsky, thank you for being reasonable. please put the sabers away. I think your conditions are most agreeable; I just don't like to see anyone threatening someone who can't protect themselves." He paused before continuing, "I am certainly no di'kut. I know full well what could happen. In fact I was never against you, I just had to make sure you saw the other side of the argument as well. So now that we understand each other, I move the samples are to be carried by Armand, until he finds a cure or if he doesn't we will then destroy the vials, but he should also have the time he needs to to search." He activated one of the sabers he had taken, and sliced through the wall in a spot 3 inches long. "For now, just sever the conduits to the lab, and leave the lab in a vacuum. At least that is my idea." He hoped the others would feel the same way.
[member="Alena"] [member="DasGeneral"]

Wan Min nodded in agreement. "Leaving the cargo hold in vacuum is our best bet for now. Let's all make our way to the med bay, shall we?" Min stated and motioned for everyone else to follow her out the door.

Alena let out a deep breath and nodded, deactivating the lightsaber in her hand. There had to be some amount of leeway given, they were all just people after all. "I can agree to that, I'll do what I can to help." She started by joining Prudii in severing the remaining power cables. "I know you're not an idiot." She muttered to the man, "And thanks."

@DasGeneral @Verd Skirata

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" shouted Armand, putting his hands up and dropping the flimsi film in the process. "Let's please take this down a notch. I am not a bio-terrorist. I am a scientist and nothing more. And when we're back on our respective ships I can certainly have my credentials sent to all of you with references and the like." Armand backed up against the table which held his case, now shut. He left his lightsaber on the Squib's ship but did have a blaster in the case in the event that the crew became mutinous against him.

While he didn't feel the same unease that Alena and Wan Min did at the prospect of taking some secure virus samples back to Hapes, he did understand. "First I would appreciate you all putting your weapons away. And then let's have a civil conversation about these samples." He looked over at Verd Skirata who appeared to be the only level-headed one right now and gave him a nod. The Mandalorian seemed to be his only ally on this matter. "I will search the medbay and the ship for other matter and the possible cure. Then when the hour is over, let's discuss the samples again."

Armand wanted to drop the subject and get to the action of searching the ship, but felt compelled to add: "But I really think in the name of science and of my home planet of Hapes I should really bring this back with me. Anyone of you is free to accompany me the entire way to ensure its safety." Armand looked his case and stopped. "I will need this for the rest of my search." He didn't pick it up yet afraid that to do so would cause an offensive maneuver from the trigger happy half-Chiss.

"No thanks are required, I just wanted us all to see both sides and have a comprimise. I saw the blaster, and had to assume it was going to be used." He thought for a moment. "How is it that you know Mand'oa?" he asked [member="Alena"]

The entire ship shook in it's tractor beam harness as they rocked side to side to silence the talking a little so Lenic could speak. The Squib's voice then came on the radio "I'm not much of one to raise ethical debates being a mechanic but hear me out. I see this is a virus that has been extinct for a long time. And I would rather some of the last strains be made into a cure, than have another wreck be discovered with the virus onboard and it used wrongly. I put my faith in Armand, his background checks out as a top level biomedical scientist, and I put my faith in a being by his trade. So I suggest you listen to him on these matters. If there's anything he knows it's viruses. And seeing as I'm in control of the tractor beam, play nice."

The squib felt odd being the voice of reason but the situation was heating up too much, and around that much toxin that would jeopardize his salvage mission payment he wasn't going to risk it.

"The squib might just be right here. We should also search the rest of the debris field for more ships with this virus on it." he said confidently. "In fact i think we should as a group come back after the salvage mission and score the rest of these ships for more of this virus, so as not to leave anything to chance. Is anyone else with me on this?" He asked knowing that, as a matter of conscience, [member="Alena"] would be with him.

"Thank you, Mr. Ornil," said Armand in his comlink. It was nice of the Squib to say those kind words. He wanted to volley back a few words of flattery for the smuggler but now was not the time.

"And I would very much like to be a part of that follow up, Skirata. Perhaps we can bring a more formal group of us with a Republican Medical Ship. Or even better, erect a temporary space station with a mobile lab in order to further study this incredible find." Armand was more pleased now that there was a plan for the virulent bio-matter rather than just destroying it. Rational minds were prevailing, he thought.

[member="Verd Skirata"] [member="Lenix Ornil"] [member="DasGeneral"] [member="Alena"]

Alena frowned, "It still might be," she replied, referring to the blaster. Armand was far too excited about this find for Alena's comfort. In her mind, it didn't matter what the man's intentions were, even the least of the possible terrible outcomes was too much to risk. For the moment, Alena distracted herself with Prudii's question. "My mother was Mando'ad. She was a real hut'tuun, abandoned me to my father. That's about it."
It was then Alena heard Ornill over the radio, though she didn't take much stock in his threat; the Squib was also on board the ship caught in his trusty tractor beams. Prudii interrupted Alena's thoughts with his own proposition to track down samples of the disease on other vessels. Alena nodded in agreement, "As long as they'll be dealt with all the same..." She turned her attention to the Hapan. "The only thing we're going to do is look for a cure. If there isn't one, this all gets fried." The nervousness in her voice had dissipated, replaced by the sureness of anger. "That'll be the end of it, we're not turning this into a thing."
Alena turned back to the last set of sample banks, grabbing the power cables and yanking them angrily out of their sockets. "That's the last of those," she grunted, glancing back to the tall Mandalorian.

Armand felt a surge of anger, but gave Alena a half-smile. "Oh you do remind me of my eldest sister," he said. "Hot headed and stubborn," he sneered. But he quickly regained his composure and then nodded deferentially to the attractive pilot.

"Fair enough. Let's see what we else we find." Armand left his carrying case on the table and began searching the room, using his flashlight. He worked in a meticulous fashion checking every inch of the lab chamber, gathering flimsi films and other data artifacts. The more he rifled through drawers and cabinets, the more he thought that the cure for the virus must be on the ship. Surely the bio-engineers who dreamed up the deadly pathogen wouldn't be working so close in proximity without some kind of antidote.

"Ok then, just keep your finger off the trigger unless you mean to shoot. I still think you need to watch your temper." he smiled at the half Chiss. "But I'll watch your norac too you know." He smiled. "Armand, lets find this vaccine. you think there's a chance it could be in the medbay?" He asked hopefully, while he headed towards the door. "Hey [member="Lenix Ornil"]. I think the reactor work can be finished now. It should be safe to power the bu'nas'a thing up." [member="Armand Temi"] [member="Alena"] [member="DasGeneral"]

"Maybe," Armand said to Skirata. "I'm not finding anything of value in here. Yes, let's go to the medbay." Armand walked up to his carrying case and hesitated before it. "I need my lab tools if I find anything," he said slowly taking the case. He looked around at the anxious eyes around him. "Mother of Shaa, it's not like I can go jump out the hatch and sail away with this. Especially with these on my feet." He pointed to his magnetized boots. As the Hapan came up behind the Mandalorian, he asked, "What do you do Mr. Skirata? I'm afraid with all of this fuss, I haven't gotten to know you at all."

Armand decided to do a quick Force reading on Skirata to see if he could pick up any signs that the Mando was a Force user like him.

Zaahir had been silent through most of this BUT TOTALLY THERE THE WHOLE TIME, NO REALLY GUYS, following in his appointed EVA suit, poking at dead people etc, but felt it was time to add his two credits. Speaking into the open comm channel he did just that.

"The chances of the Sith having had only what we found here are very slim, if nothing else, the documentation for it exists somewhere. If we are lucky it is lost, but what is lost is often found, this is our job no? It is the job of others as well. Perhaps the Sith still have the formula, and it has only not been used because their current incarnation would rather conquer and control than destroy."

"If this is so, what happens should they start to lose?"

"If it is a blow to the Sith you want, surely having a cure ready for a virus they do not know we know about is much better yes? The Doctor cannot run off with it, he is on other beings ships, and having spent time on Mr Ornils ship.. I do not think anyone could hijack it. It is.. Unique.."

"A thing can always be destroyed later, but once destroyed it cannot necessarily be brought back. Be calm and think on it, while we continue to search."

The Zeltron had been having rather a lot of fun playing salvager, he'd attached a sack to the left of his EVA, and was putting anything that looked valuable into it. Three lightsabers, five blasters, six datachips, one thing that might be a holocron but was possibly just a fancy paperweight. A pair of crush-gaunts, memory chips he'd pulled out of droids and one fancy hat. It had a feather in it.

"We are just about all using our heads now, and I like that." He replied. "Well lets go then. I'll keep an eye on Armand, you guys look for more good finds." He headed out the door with Armand, He wrote a note for Armand to switch his comm frequency to a different channel, and waited for him to talk into it, to answer his question. He made sure to keep an eye on the other comm activity, just in case the others wanted to talk to them. "You are a Jedi right?" He paused a moment to collect his thoughts. "Well I wanted to tell you something. I am not who I said I am. The name is Verd Skirata, not Prudii. Prudii is my Alias, as it means Shadow. I picked the name because of the color of my armor, and I don't appreciate you almost ruining my Alias. So could you try to not read my thoughts?" [member="Armand Temi"]
