VISIONS OF THE PAST (Leori)

[member="Leori Sheltrak"]

Seeing into the future was a useful talent if done correctly. Trouble with seeing into the future was it was always changing. Like Yoda said the future is always in motion. But the past wasn't. The past was already done. We already knew what was going to happen and when.

That's why it was strange when Hawk started dreaming about the past. He was a seer. His ability was about the future not the past. In his dreams it wasn't his past, he saw it was someone else's. It was strange. He couldn't really see through the fog. He got a glimpse of an object. It glowed. It had a presence in the force. He couldn't get out of his mind. He kept saying it over and over again. Each time he dreamed it he saw more detail.

It was because of these visions of the past, that he went and saw Leori. He trusted her. They had been on many adventure together. He knew she would understand.

That's why he was at her quarters. He knocks on her door a few times. "Hey..its me Hawk."

Leori was surprisingly, still asleep. That was rare. Actually the surprising part was that she was asleep, and not in meditation. Never the less, she woke with the door alerting her to Hawk’s presence. She shook the cobwebs from her head as she sat up, then waved the door open.

“Come in.” She said, before heading toward the refresher. “Have a seat. I’ll be right with you.”

She wandered into the refresher to splash some water onto her face and straighten herself up before returning to the main room of her quarters. The Jedi Master couldn’t remember if she was expecting him that morning or not. In any event, he was there.

A few minutes later, she returned, in much sharper form. And offered him a smile. “My apologies for the wait. I seem to be a little off schedule today. What brings you by today?”

Hawk walked into Leori quarters. He felted too much anxiety to sit awhile he waited for her. He slowly paced around the room looking at different thing.

He waved off Leori apology. He was the one that should apologize. it was too early in the morning, he should have waited. "Sorry didn't realize the time." He sits down. "I've been having some strange vision. They are not of the future but of the past. I can't explain it. In these visions, it's all foggy. I see an object. It glows with the force."

Leori took a seat and gestured for him to sit as well, since he hadn’t sat down while she was in the refresher. Something was obviously troubling him. He began to tell her what it was that was weighing on him. Visions of the past. Interesting for a seer. The Jedi Master considered what techniques could be useful in a situation such as this.

“How are these visions coming to you, Hawk?” She inquired. Leori suspected they came to him when he was unconscious, or he could explore them more freely. If that was the case, perhaps she could replicate the conditions and help him solve the mystery. They were obviously significant, or they wouldn’t be recurring.

"When I am sleeping. I have tried to see them during mediatation. I can't do it. It frustrating! That why I came here. I'm hoping that you will be able to help me." He was thinking of being place in deep rma sleep...maybe a coma.

Leori nodded. Her suspicion had been correct then. Well, at least there were options now. “I can understand your frustration. Worry not, there are techniques that we can try to solve the mystery.” It was a good thing that he trusted her, because visions were often deeply personal.

She gestured to her bed. “Make yourself comfortable. I will assist you in reaching a suitable state of mind to explore this vision and keep a telepathic connection with your mind.”

The Jedi Master brought a chair next to the bed and sat down in it with her legs crossed under her.

"Ok." He glances at her then at the bed. He clears his throat. He was a little nervous. "A telepathic connection? Hope I don't dream about something naughty." He says trying to lighten the mood.

He sits down on the bed. "Maybe I should lay down." He lies down on the bed trying to ignore the fact that Leori had just been sleeping in it.

"Ok I'm ready."

[member="Hawk Solo"]

Leori chuckled. “Well that wouldn’t be very Jedi like, now would it?”

While he got himself settled, she touched his mind gently, not trying to be intrusive. Hawk was thinking about her bed. Well, she hadn’t considered that aspect. But, at least she hadn’t been indecent in bed.

He said he was ready. Well, she’d already started without him. “Then go to sleep.” She chuckled again, then sat quietly with her eyes closed so that he wouldn’t get the sense that he was being watched. That wasn’t exactly a feeling that made going to sleep easy…

"Yeah like I can go to sleep on command." He says in jest. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes trying to calm his mind. His thoughts were all over the place. He was thinking about The force, his family, Leori, would the rats make the playoff and so on.

He rolls on one side than another until he finds the sweet spot and falls asleep. While a sleep his mind wanders to place that is warm damp and foggy. A voice in the distance calling a name.

For the moment, Leori ignored his thoughts. Conscious thoughts were not what she needed to be monitoring. She just sat quietly while he settled himself in and rolled into a comfortable position. It took him much longer than it took her even on a bad day. It might be helpful to review his meditation techniques at another time.

Finally, he fell asleep. Now the real waiting began. He still had to reach REM sleep before she’d have any help in navigating his subconscious.

She could see what he was seeing. A fog. And she could hear a voice. In his mind, he would hear her voice. “Where are we, Hawk?” she inquired. Start small, hopefully with a location to investigate later.

[member="Leori Sheltrak"]

"I'm not sure." He answers her in his dream. He hears a woman voice. "No..no..you can't take it. Give it back." The fog slowly parts as a woman and a man wearing armor were arguing for an object. The woman was wearing a white luminous flowing dress. The man armor was black and silver. The object was in the man's gloved hand. It looked like an amulet. "You don't know what you are doing. Please give it back to me." The man laughs.

A red lightsaber ignites. The woman shrinks back in horror. "Nooooo!" She cries out as the man stabs her in the heart.

Leori heard the voice of the distressed woman. She whispered to Hawk again trying not to disrupt the vision. “Do you recognize those people? Or the amulet?” The scene played out, and was disturbing. She could see why he asked for her assistance. Though it seemed this was much clearer for him, since he was unconsciously communicating with her. Perhaps if she could keep him talking to her while the vision played out, he would reveal a few more clues to the mysterious murder and amulet.

The woman looked familar to him. He seen her before....but where. It made no sense. The woman was dead? He just saw her get killed. "No, I dont." That what was frustrating him. This dream played over and over. He never seen what happen after the woman had fallen. Tonight with Leori help he would seen the final scene.

The Sith laughs at the woman reaction. "Foolish woman. Now to test the Amulet powers of restoration." He kneels down next to the woman and passes the amulet over her heart. It worked the woman began to breath again. "Good. I have use of this." The Sith walks away from the woman.

The woman face becomes clearly.....it couldn't be..No. "It's your face." He says to Leori.

Leori was quiet for a moment, considering how else to draw out details. Then she heard the laughter. It seemed as though she wouldn’t have to draw out more of the scene. She wondered what a Sith would want with such an amulet. That was a question that needed answers. But her thoughts were interrupted by Hawk’s voice.

Her face? The Jedi Master furrowed her brows. She wondered if their present connection had something to do with that. Perhaps his subconscious needed a face to go with the body. It seemed impossible that it was her. Leori didn’t have such an amulet. And she certainly wouldn’t carry it on her if she did possess such a dangerous tool.

“That seems unlikely,” she replied gently. “Perhaps it is our present telepathic connection that has implanted my image into the vision….” At least, she hoped so.

Hawk opens his eyes when the dream was over to look at Leori. "Perhaps..or maybe some distant relative." He says with a shrug. "Anyways did you recognize the place? What about the amulet? It heals but what would a sith want with that unless it can do the opposite."

[member="Hawk Solo"]

Leori shrugged. She didn’t know much of her predecessors, since her mother died when she was a child. And her father hadn’t spoken of her. Her heritage had never mattered to her since she had begun to take her training seriously as a child.

“I don’t know much about my relatives, and I certainly didn’t recognize the place, or the Sith. The amulet I’m not familiar with, but after having witnessed what it can do, I am quite certain that that Sith wished to restore someone. Perhaps someone long past, another Sith? Or a family member. Many Sith are very motivated by personal attachments, as well as the pursuit of power. It is difficult to determine that Sith’s intentions from a vision, especially when we have no idea where or when it occurred.”

The Jedi Master paused. “Perhaps we should consult the archives for such an amulet.”

[member="Leori Sheltrak"]

"We can't let that happen." Hawk shudders at the idea of someone bring back a long dead Sirh. "It worth a try." He says about checking out the archives.

He get off Leori's bed. He runs a hand through his hair. "I'm ready if you are...we should stop in the cafe for some stimcaf and a snack. We might down there for awhile."

[member="Hawk Solo"]

Leori nodded. “Yes, let’s get something to eat before we consult the archives. It could indeed be a long long day.”

She motioned with her hand for the door to open. Leori stepped out of her room and waited outside for Hawk to join her before motioning to close the door behind them. At this point, she wasn’t entirely sure what to say, or where to even begin looking. Silence was a better option. It allowed for thoughts to flow uninterrupted as she moved toward the mess hall.

Autonomously, she collected a cup of stimcaf and a pastry before finding a seat. The Jedi Master wasn’t exactly staring off into space, but her thoughts were clearly elsewhere.

Hawk follows Leori out of room. The door slides shut behind him. They walk in silence together. Each keeping their thoughts to themselves. The vision dream keeps playing over and over in his head. The woman fashion...hmmmm. Maybe they could use that as a clue.

He grabs a cafe and some bacon, eggs and bagel. He takes his plate of food and sits down with Leori. He glances at Leori breakfast. He shakes his head. "You should eat more than that." Women and their diets. "Anyways, I was thinking about the woman clothing..the place is obvious a warm planet. She would freeze in a place like Hoth. Maybe her style of clothing could tells what time?"

[member="Hawk Solo"]

Leori blinked upon hearing Hawk’s voice again. “What?” She looked at her food. “Oh, probably. But my mind was elsewhere.” She listened to his thoughts on how they might find the woman in his visions. The Jedi Master wasn’t even certain they were looking for a woman that was even alive at this point. However, the mystery would drive them mad, of that much she was certain.

She took a bite of her pastry and nodded in agreement. “Yes, her clothing could give us a clue. It could certainly be a temperate world, but she was also indoors. However, it is unlikely that she’d be dressed like that on an ice world. That narrows the search only slightly however. What else can you remember?”
