Wake Up

Kira Talith

Three and a half weeks was almost an entire month!. At five weeks it would be! Helping her husband along by scouting a head, she gestured with three fingers to lock on the three weeks.

“Three!” she mouthed off to him. The loud echo of alarm from several of the pirates could be heard resonating from the mouth of the cave. Rounding one corner, the Lorrdian Jedi Master took a quick gander. A hand suddenly came up to have him pause.

There were two pirates, whose greed had taken root and were trying to pack as much of that odd glowing ore into a bag.

“Wait.” she murmured, before cloaking herself. This was second nature, and they could not waste any time. Coming up behind them, she suddenly appeared. A tap to each of their shoulders drew their attention. Alarm registered upon their features and they went for their weapons-- at least until Kira gave a sweep of her hand in front of them.

“ You do not want to harm me.”

“ I do not want to harm you.” they both would drone as if hypnotized. Mindtricks were lovely. An idea struck her. She beckoned Sol to come to her.

“You will carry these two,” pointing to the gamorrean and the Kel-Dor, “ and you will carry them to safety away from this cavern.”

“I will carry…”

Well that would free their hands now!

At least that was that taken care of. The two of them weren't exactly friends with the two pirates that they had knocked unconscious, and in truth Soliael had been asking himself exactly where they would bring the two after they got them off the island. It wasn't exactly like Pirates Cove had a prison or anything of that sword, this place was about as lawless as one got when they talked about the outer rim. He frowned slightly, shifting his weight and giving over his two prisoners.

"Well..." He said to the two hypnotized pirates. "Bye now."

The two stared at him for a moment, hefting their compatriots before slowly, lazily, turning around and walking away from the two force users. The former false god let out a small chuckle, slightly amused by the odd sight of the four pirates meandering through the caves. "Come on honey. We don't have forever."

He extended a hand towards his wife.

Soliael didn't want to run any risks, and while he didn't particularly care about the pirates, he did care if Kira got hurt. No point in running when he could simply bring them away.

Kira took her husband's hand. She had a feeling she knew what was coming next. Honestly, she could never get used to it. The sense of vertigo had lightened over the years, but it still made her tummy a bit upset. Not to mention the slight headache that resulted afterwards.

"Are you ever going to teach Micah?" he would know exactly what she meant, feeling his arms wrap around her. The Lorrdian Jedi Master may not know much about the power, but she gathered enough that it required some contact for Soliael to be able to take more than one person away. However, Soliael knew that his wife enjoyed having his arms around her when able.

"He is still curious how you do it." she told him, aware that in all this time, he had yet to tell anyone how exactly he managed to do it. Perhaps one day, if his father would not teach him, Kira was sure that Micah would find away. He was curious enough to figure it out for himself.

Soliael shook his head. "Some secrets aren't mine to teach."

That was the truth.

He had done horrible things to the Aint-Tii once upon a time, or at least one of them. He had warped and twisted the creatures mind, changed and shifted it into something that was not quite akin to what it was. That had lead the Moross Crusade down a rather dark Path, but it had also lead it to success. The memory was not a good one for Soliael, not anymore at least. Eventually he had atoned for his sin, and that atonement had lead to the knowledge that he now had.

Some of it at least.

The abilities that he held, specifically one that he had learned from the Aing-Tii were sacred in a way. The knowledge of how to do them, of how to shift and change reality itself was a well kept secret even among the Aing-Tii. He had sworn and oath not to teach it to anyone else, and he would keep that oath.

"Besides." Soliael said as he pulled Kira close. "It's a dangerous thing to learn."

Tipping her head back, the Lorrdian Jedi Master let her aquamarine gaze drift over her beloved's visage. Upon the dark slash of his brows. The full, thick white beard. The peppered black and white hair that was long enough to lightly curl around the shell of his ears. Despite the blare of the klaxons and the threat to their lives, she took a moment to smile. Most would say that her husband was a man touched by the dark. Forged by fire and honed in blood. There was a measure of truth in that. No one was innocent. Not in this galaxy.

However, while the atrocities he committed were terrible, he was a man who had come to his own and realized himself what was right and what was wrong. He would never be able to make up for mistakes of the past, but he could honor the future. She knew that the situation with the pirates here could have been handled in a different manner were it solely up to Soliael. Yet they had not. He chose another path. One with the least bloodshed. One could say that it was for her own sake, but for Kira, she believed it was for something more.

"It is dangerous to parley with a God." she quipped, a mild bit of humor. The air began to hum around them, a surge of expectation that always came when Soliael summoned the Force for what he would do.

"Some dangers are worth the risk." it was said more in reference to their initial meeting rather than teaching Micah. Kira respected his decision in that. It didn't mean she wouldn't tease him.

"It's not the god's you fear." Soliael said. "It's the power they gives you."

That was a rather introspective way of looking at it, but it was true. Soliael had once sought all manner of knowledge. Ancient rituals, broken pieces of power artifacts, scrolls that would tell him the past, present, and future. He had seen and learned much in his travels, had found things that many would deem impossible.

He knew better then most that knowledge could be dangerous.

His eyes snapped shut as he tried to concentrate, his mind falling towards the speeder that they had left towards the outer edge of the island. The seismic charged would go off in a few minutes, and while he had always enjoyed talking about this like this, he didn't really want to lose a speeder two days into their trip. He had no idea how long they would be gone and it was best to conserve their resources while they still could, and a speeder was a valuable resource.

So with a gentle squeeze, Soliael bent reality around the two of them, moving them from within the cavern to the wide open space of the island.

It was the scent of salty ocean air and the cool wind coming from the sea that Kira noticed first. Her arms had wrapped themselves around Soliael’s torso, her face tucked in neatly against his chest. The slight bit of nausea made her a little bit woozy, but the firm embrace from her husband gave her a foundation to maintain her bearings with.

“I can never really get used to that.” she murmured, tightening her hold around his waist. A slow nuzzle of her cheek against his chest helped. Steadying her breathing, she slowly opened her eyes. There was just a few more minutes left.

Blinking, she caught sight of the speeder. They didn’t have much time. “Cee-Two-Ten is still out there,” she murmured. They had brought the protocol droid imagining it would be the best distraction. Ironic that instead that fell to Soliael and her instead.

Things never quite went according to initial plans.

“I’m okay,” Kira told her husband, pulling back. Her boots felt weighed and heavy against the sand as she turned towards the speeder.
“Come on!”

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael jumped into the speeder without hesitation. In the distance he could see the light of several starships filling the sky, transport shuttles and gunships come to pick up the pirates. They weren't carrying any equipment, at least not that he could see, though a few of them were wearing that same heavy armor that he had spotted earlier.

He frowned slightly. "Go."

They didn't have a lot of time before the charges went off, and when they did things weren't going to remain very...stable for long. He was almost entirely sure now that the island wouldn't last very long once the blast began, mostly because of the radius of the explosions and just how far Seismic mines tended to go. Half of him was thankful they hadn't discovered this particular trove of explosives in the middle of Raider's Cove. That would have been an unmitigated disaster.

He frowned slightly.

Would they even know about the explosion? Soliael supposed they would find out.

Jumping into the speeder, Kira flipped the ignition switch. A flip of her blonde hair went glancing over her shoulder. They didn't have much time.

"Hold on!" she exclaimed, reving the engine just before the repulsorlift shot them forward. Air went whipping over their heads as the Jedi Lorrdian Master cut a sharp right towards the sea. Salt spray from incoming gusts of wind showered them, but it didn't deter Kira's concentration. Night had fallen and the area was dark, illuminated save for the stars and the Rishi Maze overhead.

They had less than five minutes.

Turning her head, blonde hair blew in the wind as Kira gave one last final look at the island. She could only hope that they saved as many lives as they could today. It was a detour, but she felt better about it. Turning back, her hand went reaching out for Soliael's. It was a silent thank you.

[member="Kira Talith"]

His fingers wrapped around her own, gently squeezing as time itself began to slow.

Soliael didn't need a timer to tell him that the explosion was coming. He'd always had a knack for numbers, and in his head he knew very well that the explosion was about to strike. There was a slight delay, a skip of the heart, and then suddenly a serene silence that seemed to spread out all around them. For some reason even the wind began to quiet, a calm falling over the area as the Seismic charges began to take in the surrounding noise.

The former False God half turned to look back towards the island.

The silence suddenly burst out, a noise that sounded like a steel string guitar ringing out with a powerful rush of noise and pressure. It pushed out in an instant, tearing into rock, wood, tree, and any living thing that remained on the island.

Kira couldn't help flinching. As soon as the concussive sound burst, the Lorrdian Jedi Master gave a jolt. Even as far away as they were, speeding away over the ocean, they were not unscathed. The release of pressure and noise was enough to make their ears hurt, even pop. Pulling her lips back in a grimace, Kira scrunched her face in pain and tried to work through it. Their speeder shook, and she had to work through the ache in her head to make sure they didn't flip the speeder.

Her knuckles were white against the steering wheel, and for a moment she swerved left. It took some quick reflexes to steady and straighten out, but she was sure that whatever they felt was nothing compared to what would have been at ground zero. Turning back, she saw the rising cloud of dust and debris, barely outlined in the dark of the night. Rishi Village and any of the neighboring towns wouldn't really be able to see the extent of the damage until sunrise, but even then, Kira could only hope that they managed to keep the casualties low. Even if they were pirates.

Her heart was kicking with adrenaline still, but now it was being replaced by a weariness of the bones. Their little excursion had been interesting; likely the most interesting thing they've done in a while ( the small issue of Contruum not counting ), but truth be told, now she was tired.

Swinging her head back to her husband, Kira gave him a tired, but grateful smile.

"I think I can do with a shower and maybe fall into bed right about now." she admitted. The offer of a massage still holding .

He watched for a second as the blast swept over the island, cutting the island almost in two. It was an odd sight, not at all like a regular explosion but instead a more contained and set out path of destruction. For a moment Soliael imagined those mines detonating in the middle of a city center, the destruction they could bring and the devastation a device like that could create in the middle of Coruscant or Empress Teta. The idea wasn't a difficult one, and in truth it was oddly simply to enact.

He wondered why no one had ever done it before.

Soliael made a quiet note in case he ever decided to become a terrorist. "Shower?"

The former false god echoed his wife, thinking for a moment. They did have water showers, a luxury that normally didn't come with such a vessel but had been equipped especially on The Freya in order to keep the vessel a bit more to the former False God's...style.

"I seem to recall and agreement however..." The former False god mentioned. "Something about three months."

“Three months?!” That was enough to bring Kira out of her little migrane. Well, at the very least, distract her. Her head came swiveling over to the former false god, gaping at him.

“It wasn’t three months!” she went reaching out to poke at his side, which was promptly batted away and caught.

“Hey!” she protested, wiggling her hand. This was more like it. A bit more lighthearted. “It was three weeks there bud!” the Lorrdian Jedi Maste would remind her husband.

“Don’t be a revisionist!” she teased, glancing back towards the front of the speeder to make sure that no random rogue waves decide to take them out. She wasn’t familiar with Rishi so she couldn’t quite say just what might happen. A few more minutes and they’d be at the Freya.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Pretty sure it was three months." Soliael said slowly as he looked back.

For a moment he considered if anyone would actually care about what had happened.

He knew that Raider's Cove wasn't too far away, and knew that the Rishi had some scattered villages in the islands as well, but would they care? For some odd reason he doubted that. There were odder things that had happened on this world, things that most would rather forget. Granted that was thousands of years ago, but people tended ot have long memories when it came to near planetary devastation. He frowned for a moment shifting his weight and returning his attention to his wife.

"You can't be sure it wasn't." He said flatly. "There's no proof."

"There is plenty of proof!" She tossed back, flashing him a brief glance from the corner of her eyes. A twitch followed by her mouth, and she gave a shake of her head. The ache in her ears was diminishing but that didn't mean the headache would fade just as fast.

There was no denying that there would be some ramifications. However, this was just one small island. One minor set back. Kira could only hope it meant more worlds would be safe.

“I have excellent memory, mind you.” She shot back, bringing both hands to rest on the steering wheel. There were parts of her that were sore. Certainly she didn't expect this much excitement for their vacation.

“It was three weeks!”

[member="Kira Talith"]

"There is no proof." Soliael said plainly. "Your memory is hearsay."

That was how the law worked. "For all we know it was three years."

The former false God gave off a shrug.

"I'm letting you off easy." Finally he turned back towards his wife, no longer wishing to look at the devastation that the seismic charges had wrought upon the landscape. He offered her a small smile, if one that was more then a bit smug. "Three months is nothing after all."

The Freya came up ahead, the hangar lights glowing faintly within the dark. He wondered briefly if the pirates had spotted the vessel. They probably had, but connecting it to the assault was unlikely, Rishi after all was a resting place for a dozen different Pirate organizations, more then likely they would assume that the Freya simply belonged to one of them. They would have to be careful when leaving the planet, mostly because Soliael didn't want to encounter any armadas.

A heavy snort came back, the blonde shaking her head. Her bangs flew up and over her head, and she gave a mock roll of her eyes. It honestly didn't really matter. The length of time or anything. Both knew well that odds were Soliael was bound to lean towards the direction his wife wished. Not something she took advantage of, but the playing about and banter was something they both enjoyed.

Besides, Kira really enjoyed it when he went along with her cosplays. Some of those were rather interesting indeed when it came to doing whatever her husband would like. The sort of things she didn't mind at all.

"Three months is quite a while there, buddy." following the line of the coast, she turned towards the small beacons of light that led towards the hanger of the Freya. A small controller would allow her entrance. Slowly, she decelerated, entering their temporary vacation home and finally leaving the pirates and sonic grenades to the past. For now at least.

"I should at least have a way of gaining time back." she said with a sassy grin. She pulled to a stop alongside two other speeders. Cutting the engine, the replosorlift craft's whine waned to a hum.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"By that argument though you should also have a way of losing time back to me." He smiled slightly.

This was where his years of life and experience came in handy, where his negotiating skills as a former diplomat and False God really came in handy. Nearly two and a half centuries of life, two and a half centuries of learning and experience finally coming to a full benefit for him. There was no greater application of his skill, no better cause that he could devote himself to. This was it, this was the greatest thing that he could hope to achieve, and achieve it he would.

"Right?" He leaned into Kira, his hand slipping onto her waist. "It would only be fair."

It was time for mind games. His fingers slipped to the small of her back, gently massaging. "Wouldn't it?"

His voice became honey.

Kira killed the power to the engines, then turned so her torso now faced her husband. The drop of adrenaline was starting to crash on the Lorrdian. All the excitement of the day now able to wash free. Tugged over onto his lap by the guide of his hand, Kira came tumbling against his chest.

Her hands caught against his chest, but she wasn’t one to be so easily deterred. While his hand sailed over her back, Kira wiggled herself up so that she was half straddling him. Tiny as she was, she barely managed to face him at face level.

Her hands came to perch on his shoulders, and she gave them a slight flex with her fingers. The corner of her mouth twitched.

“Uh huh… don’t try to ply your little games with me bud!” right hand came up and he would find a finger tapping the tip of his nose.

“You’re just trying to get the upper hand!” blonde bangs would fly as she puffed out her cheeks and blew hot air up. “You got three weeks!” she brought back her hand to poke at his chest.

However… I am willing to let you have an extra day.” a small rolll of her shoulders as if to say, how magnanimous of me.

“Unless you can convince me otherwise?”

Ah, the bait was set!

[member="Kira Talith"]

"I don't have to convince you of anything." Soliael pointed out. "It's my three weeks, right?"

There wasn't really a question there since he already knew the answer.

Stepping out of the Speeder he stayed silent for a moment however, swinging himself onto the floor of the hangar bay and stretching slightly as if to act out that he was tired. In truth, he was. Folding reality itself was no small matter, and maneuvering that far was difficult. It never tired him much to do it again and again in quick succession, though he wasn't quite sure why, but doing it once and then simply holding off caused him a great deal of exhaustion.

He supposed that it had to deal with the flow of the force, how the moving of power and his own strength effected him, but in truth he could not quite say. "I can just demand more time of you."

A smirk grew on his lips.
