Wake Up

[member="Kira Talith"]

He rolled his shoulders in a shrug. She was right. There wasn't any need to stress about it. He was still going to live another few centuries, and Kira would be at his side for a few more decades. It was a depressing thought, but one that he quickly threw away as well. There was no reason to dwell on the darker side of things, especially not now. This was supposed to be the start of a good thing, the exploration of a galaxy and a trip that many would be jealous of.

"We should make a map." Soliael pointed out as he heard the engines rumble. "Of where we go."

They weren't exactly cartographers, but he was sure that they could figure it out. It didn't seem all that difficult in the first place, and with the plan that they had set before them it would likely pay to map a few hyperspace routes and the path through certain Nebula's, especially if they needed to circle back.

"At least one we get there." The Freya rocked for half a second, or rather, began to shake as it hyperdrive was once again kicked into action.

They were about to make the final jump towards the Rishi Maze.

"A map!" Kira cried out, her face brightening at that. "Like a hyperspace map?" She inquired, following it up with, "Or a holovideo of everywhere we went off to?" They would have to be careful with the low tech worlds, but nothing that they couldn't handle.

"Omph!" she gave a slight startled bounce, the rocking of the Freya making her bounce beside Soliael. The strong band of his arms encircled her, and steadied her in place. A sheepish expression and a flush of her cheeks bloomed over her face.

"Sorry... still a bit of a klutz." A sigh and she held onto him tight. "Know anything about the first planet we may see?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"I know you are." He grinned.

"And yes. A Starmap." They couldn't be too hard to make. "They've been made before, and lets be honest, the Rishi Maze isn't exactly extensively documented. We have no idea how long we'll be there or even if we'll get beyond the first system, but eventually It'll pay off to at least know where we've been."

Despite his boasts at the beginning of this tripe, Soliael couldn't exactly just magically put them back wherever they wanted to go. In theory he could relocate himself and Kira back to Borleias, but doing so would take an immense amount of energy, strength, and concentration. So much that it would likely put him into a coma for a week or two. That amount of power...well he didn't exactly want to use it for nothing, so it was better if they documented where they went, in case they had to go back.

Only logical really. "It'll be fun."

That would get her.

"Well I don't know how to make one, " she admitted, urging him to walk towards the exit. Her arm snaked around his lower back, hand coming to rest on his hip. There her fingers would trace along his hipbone, the Lorrdian always needing some form of physical connection to him.

"I take it you've made one before at least?" or knew where to find the information that would allow him to do it. The more that they were talking about it, the more excited she became. She gave a slight bounce, biting her lower lip as she thought of what else they could add to it.

"Maybe give it to the kids after?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Uhhh..." Soliael trailed off. "No."

He had in fact, never made one before, but that wouldn't stop him now. "It can't be all that hard though. I mean they started making them thousands of years ago, I doubt the things are all that complex. I can throw some things together in the hangar as see what sticks."

That would work out well.

Probably.

"The Kids." Soliael said with a smile. "Or the galaxy. Either or."

At that, Kira gave a burst of laughter. Just the look on his face as he admitted that was enough to make the Jedi Master giggle. Can't be all that hard, eh?

Surrrre.. Kira thought to herself, recalling some of Soliael's hobbies throughout the years that he began only to leave unfinished.

"Like whittling? Or that rocking chair you promised me?" the sly grin she slipped at the man along with the devilish gleam in her blue eyes was enough to tempt a smack to her bottom at that.

"HEY!" she objected, albeit halfheartedly so. She had one hand rub the sting away.

"Just sayin'... " only to dart out of his reach before he could grab her again.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"This is different." Soliael said and actually meaning it. Star Maps were technological, something that Soliael had an inherent gift for. It would be simple enough to just throw things together until it all worked. It would probably take some time, but then again they had nothing but while they headed towards the Rishi Maze and then actually traveled through it. It was the one thing they had in abundance actually, time. He frowned for a moment as he thought, then smiled.

"Yep." Soliael confirmed with himself. "Easy enough."

He had some idea of how he would do it already. "It's like a datacron, but a little bit more complex."

There as an art to it, he knew that much as well. Star Maps were complex things, requiring ways to input, change, and alter. They needed to be able to calculate spacial equations and change things depending on events. That would be the most difficult part, but he didn't think it'd be a problem.

"Have to start with Nav Data first then?" Kira asked him, bringing her hands up to push her blonde hair away from her face. They carried on their conversation as they headed to the bridge.

"A least, I figure that would be part of it right?" algorithms or anything far more technical than that simply went over Kira's head. She could handle droids and slicing through a console, but she wasn't an expert slicer nor navigator by far. The Jedi Master was able to use the NavCom and be their pilot if need be - because certainly, Soilael was not going to be piloting anytime soon - but otherwise, then that, she wasn't made for calculating complex calculations.

[member="Kira Talith"]

He nodded his head. "That's not an issue though."

"The Freya has extensive Nav data." That had mostly so because the ship had been with him for half a century now. He had traveled through most of the galaxy and the ship recorded his path through out all of that. It was one of the few vessels that could actually get to Aing-Tii without one of the strange aliens being on board. "But it'll be blank about the Maze."

Obviously.

"Should be enough to get us started though, and if we map the Maze, might as well get a map of our galaxy too." He shrugged.

If they were going to create a knowledge base, it should be complete

"Alright," Kira acknowledged, a firm nod and then an excited clap of her fingers to show that she was completely on board. She darted a few steps ahead of her husband, before turning on the balls of her feet to start walking backward.

"So we have Nav Data," she gave a tick of her finger for that first step. "Now we need a free datacron to start it off with." she was practically bouncing with energy. It was what Kira was wont to do, when she poured herself into a project, she gave it her all.

"I think I can go searching around the Freya and find something." a pause made her slow her backward stride, left foot easing onto the right.

"Unless you want to make the datacron from scratch?" Soliael had the ability to do that.

"OH!" Her eyes widened as large as saucers and she came to an abrupt halt. "What if we make the datacron to not look like a datacron!" Kira always enjoyed puzzles boxes. She found pleasure in discovering how to open them up. She appreciated the craftsmanship and skill it took to create one.

"Like a puzzlebox!"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"We'd have to make it from scratch anyway." Soliael said with a shrug. "I think we have a few of the pieces laying around here already, but you can't exactly adapt datacrons. The things are tricky as all hell under normal conditions and adding an entire galactic map? Yeah."

It was gonna be hard, no doubt in his mind.

"We can make it a puzzlebox. That's not really all that hard. The outside of a Datacron is probably the simplest part of the damned thing. It's kind of like...It's kind of like building a really intricate clock. Yes the outside needs to be pretty, but really it's the inside that's the hard part." He shrugged.

For Soliael, the challenge wouldn't be creating a Datacron, or a star map, the difficulty would be in making it all work properly.

A map needed to be interactive. You needed to be able to move it, draw on it, find your way around it. That was the hard part.

The part he had to figure out.

"Well, why don't we get started on that now?" Kira piped in, already ready to go twelve parsecs a minute in this.

"We are making the final jump into Rishi Maze." she began, using her fingers to pick out the reasons why they could start right now. "We have the time!" her chest rose as she took a deep breath, still walking backward as they came across the first hatch. She spun, twisting ninety degrees to allow him to walk on ahead of her. She followed in pursuit, still chatting away.

"We can make sure the final jump goes well then go digging for materials!" the last was said with an extra bounce in her step, her hair bouncing along with the soft curves under her comfy shirt.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"I don't think we have anything to worry about with the jump." Soliael said. "The last two days have been fine after all."

He offered her a smile.

"There should be a few containers of random materials in the secondary hangar, boxes that I packed up when Nohei came to talk to me." That had been a fun talk, well not fun...but interesting. He smiled for a moment, then shifted his weight so that he could turn slightly towards the door. The Freya was filled with oodles of interesting stuff, with most of the crew compartments having been converted into one kind of storage bay or another.

They had no need of a crew, but Soliael liked stuff.

So did Kira for that matter.

"Come on." He said urging her forward with a pat on the butt. "Let's go see what we can dig up."

Maybe Soliael shouldn't have mentioned that part about Nohei coming to talk to him. Kira was on him in an instant about that.

"Oh? What did Nohei come to talk to you about?" their youngest had come over before a few days before they left. They had their own conversation about what was going on with her, but otherwise, she seemed fine.

They all had a very open relationship, not to mention were well used to spending time with each other. Having the kids over and being up to date on what was going on was the norm for them. Of course, this was also because Kira had a tendency of worrying a bit too much.

Kira gave a slight wiggle at the pat, chuckling low. "Hey hey! Not that kind of handsy just yet!"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Just girl stuff." Soliael said plainly as he began to move towards the door. "You probably wouldn't understand."

The words were so nonchalant it was almost impossible to tell if he was serious or not.

Before Kira could question him further however Soliael was already dashing out of the room and towards the hangar. The conversation that he had had with Nohei were private, or rather, they were something that he didn't really want to share with Kira. They talked about most everything, but conversations like that were better kept between father and daughter, specifically ones that father had told daughter were better not told to mother.

He smiled slightly, then broke out into a sprint.

Soliael had a distinct advantage in this chase, for one thing, he wasn't sore at all.

He was darting away from her before one could say chick-a-dee!

"Hey!" Kira exclaimed, a mock expression of aghast bathing her features just before she gave chase.

"Get back here!" she yelled out at him, although the entire affair wasn't very threatening when one considered that the blonde Jedi Master barely reached the middle of the former false god's chest. The giggling and the short bursts of laughter also didn't help out.

Thankfully, speed was on her side. Well, at least if one didn't pay too much attention to the protesting muscles that handicapped her. It wasn't by much, but enough to prompt a wince or two.

"That's cheating!" she cried out, giving a half pout as he led them to the lounge. Seeing a weapon of opportunity, her fingers curled around a throw pillow from the acceleration couch. Sore she may be, but that didn't do much for her aim.

The pillow went sailing in an over the shoulder throw, aimed to smack the man behind his head.

[member="Kira Talith"]

Unfortunately for Kira, Sol was far too fast.

There was a slight shift, a turn to his side, and the pillow went sailing past him. "Hey! I paid for those!"

Technically he hadn't.

Everything aboard the craft had been simply given to him decades ago by his Grandmother. More then that everything had been re-given again lately. Though Soliael probably could have bought it all, he hadn't. There had never really been a need to, but of course, that hardly mattered in this instance, especially given that he was still winning...for now.

"Come on!" He urged her on, peeking around the corner. "You're moving slow as a snail."

A smirk crossed his lips.

“Oh you are sooo gonna get it buster!” Kira cried out, shaking one tiny fist at her husband. “You're lucky I’m am not at my peak performance!” she added, grumbling with mock affront as she chased the man down. Another giggle exploded out of her chest once she ran the corner, both of them acting like children. Laughter echoed within the bowels of the Freya, the ship giving one last shudder as it shot into the last jump into hyperspace.

A small burst of speed allowed the woman to huff and puff her way over to the former false god. One tiny blonde package soon would crash against the man, a mirror of their first meeting amidst grunts and groans of protesting sore muscles. Okay, maybe this wasn’t the best idea, Kira mused. However by then, she was already airborne and committed.

[member="Kira Talith"]

He was faster this time.

Age really did that to someone.

Made them faster.

That's how it worked right?

Either way, Soliael half turned as Kira went soaring towards him. There was a loud squeak as his slipper flew off his foot and pressed against the floor, his hands wrapping around his wife so that he could catch her without throwing himself to the ground.

There wasn't really a lot of finesse to the move, in fact Soliael went half stumbling back as he caught Kira. Size wise he might have completely dwarfed her, and in weight too, but when something the size of Kira threw itself at something there was still quite a bit of momentum that had to be deflected, stopped, or simply carried on. Soliael of course didn't want to throw his wife further, so instead he spun himself in place so that both of them would come to a stand still.

Her laughter came bubbling between them. Caught in the tight band of Soliael's arms, they both spun for a moment before he managed to gather his balance.

He lost a slipper, and she half tripped on her own. In the end, they held each other in a make-shift embrace as the Lorrdian's jubilant, bright blue eyes danced. Breathing was difficult, half smashed against his chest, cheek and nose by his heart. There might have been a bit of a wet trail from her mouth from accidently smashing her face against his chest earlier, but other than a mild sting on her nose, not real harm was done.

"Caht ya!" she yelped out in an incoherent mumble, her arms clamping around him as if he were a prize and she the one claiming it. Never mind that it was Soliael who had caught his wife, to begin with.

"Yere myn, now!" she giggled and glanced up, voice becoming a bit clearer. The devil was in her twinkling eyes. "Can't escape!"
