In the Darkness there is Truth
[member="Coryth Elaris"]

And so we are back for another episode on the Short Stack of Fire Express. Last time we checked in, [member="Hevana Martin"] and [member="HK-36"] were having a touching conversation, Phylis was reading a book about alchemy, Siobhan and Mirien were performing blood magick.

And Naamah was having a fun chat with an Always Chaotic Evil box of doom. As it happened, both of them were kindred spirits who liked to make people suffer for no other reason than the one that they could. It was always refreshing to have people who were straightforward evil and unrepentant about it. Instead of all this 'bring order to the Galaxy' or 'elevate the master race' nonsense. The only thing more annoying than that was Jedi who thought wiping out cities was the righteous thing to do. Or Jedi who thought 'peace for our time' with Sith was a good idea.

Anyhow, needless to say Naamah was terribly happy about this turn of events. Despite her attempts to control herself, her expression could only be described as gleeful. Now it was just a matter of converting Coryth to the one true path, that of Chaos. For it was the religion of the sword and the whip, which preached bloody violence and slaughter. "Excellent. Well, since we have so much time to kill, why don't you tell me more about the acolytes of Chaos in the Rishi Maze? And what is it you could teach me...Master?"

Limits were limits. And Mirien was fast reaching hers. Reaching over she poured the vial of her blood over the tray, watching as the crystal drank it in. She found herself, relying more and more upon Siobhan's power, as hers was fading. Even she wasn't immune to the massive headache that was spreading through her mind. Or maybe it was the Force Bond between them, it could be a queen like that.

None the less, the ritual came to it's close. No trace of blood remaining upon the tray, the crystal no longer glowing. Mirien leaned heavily upon the table, just trying to shake off the dense fog that clouded her mind. "Definitely ... Not... Doing that, anytime soon." The brunette whispered. "Are you okay?" She asked quietly, not really able to move from her position. Something told her it was going to take more than just some aspirin to end the throbbing in her mind, and the weakness in her body.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

[member="Mirien Valdier"]

It was done. The dark ritual was over. The dark side is bad and will inevitably turn you into a cackling, cliched villain...all darksiders are Sith blahblahblah. Anyhow, it was done. Unfortunately the headache from hell had decided to stick around and was not about to leave her. Whether it might have been amplified by their Force Bond was something Siobhan was not qualified to answer at the moment, partially because coherent thought was not easy for her at this juncture.

"Err...yeah," Siobhan said in a whisper, clearly weakened after all the exertion she had put herself through. "Not sure I'm gonna be up for the crochet tonight...I think. Least not as a very active part..." Ah, well, she had plenty nubile servant girls who would be very eager to serve their whims and fulfil all their needs! Somehow she also had the impression that aspirin would not suffice when it came to ending the painful throbbing in her mind. She wiped her nose with her hand since it seemed the nose bleed was still making itself known, which was mot annoying as well. "Did it work?"

Mirien nodded in agreement, "You're telling me.... If I can get up the basement stairs after this, I think I'll be doing good." But now came the question of whether the ritual worked or not. The brunette reached down and grabbed the first crystal. Instantly on touch alone, she could feel it throbbing with power in the Force. "Yes..." She said quietly, handing the selected crystal to Sio. "It appears that way." Testing such an item, would be a little more troublesome in the ladies current states. To her in the force it definitely felt to be exactly what she had intended to make for them both. "It radiates darkside power within the force. It should be a shield to help guard your mind from mental attacks. Just make sure to wear it on your person in some place where it won't easily be lost or destroyed."

She then looked to her own crystal, doing the exact same thing. It didn't feel quite as strong, but she suspected that had to do with pushing herself a little too hard to get both of them done, when she should have rested a lot longer between them. None the less, she didn't feel she needed as strong of an item to protect herself. Hopefully, this adventure wouldn't prove her wrong. "Mine's a little weaker, but that's okay with me." She said quietly. "Probably wasn't the best idea to have done them both this very moment, but live and learn."

A sigh came, as she managed to pull a bit of soft gauze from her bag, and handed it over to Siobhan for her nose, feeling a bit guilty for needing to use so much power from her. "Think we should rest here a moment, before heading upstairs?"

[member="Mirien Valdier"]

For a moment there was a rift in the space-time continuum and as a result Siobhan was subjected to a furious onslaught of pure meta power. Thus for just a few seconds it seemed to her that Mirien suddenly looked a bit...different. Siobhan did not mind because her Force Bond sister, with whom she had far too much quasi-romantic erotic tension, still looked hot as hell. Then the moment was over and Siobhan had lost her existentialist knowledge. Why existentialist? How the hell is this writer supposed to know? Not like they ever visited a Philosophy class.

So Siobhan gave Mirien a nod of appreciation and likewise touched her crystal. A mere touch was enough for her to feel the ripples the artefact sent through the Force. It radiated sheer darkness, as if tendrils of eldritch energies were stretching out. But it was not darkness that she feared. "Thank you. It means a lot to me that you did this for me," she said sweetly and meant it. "I'm sure we can make a stronger one for you. Or just do a ritual to strengthen the one you have," she added, gratefully accepting the soft gauze for her nose, applying it. "Well...we've had sex in the basement before. Want me to call Harmony and Chesna?"

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Mirien smiled weakly. "You're welcome, I'm just glad I can make it for you. I don't want your mind to be at risk again if I can help it." A nod followed, "Chances are we can. I just need rest before I can try again. My mind can't do this back to back, quite yet. I just don't have the endurance for it." A real smile spread across her lips, "We have, but I think, this time I just want to go sleep for a little while, try and get my mind back in order again." Any other time, she would have taken up the opportunity but not this time when she was already stretched so thin and felt incredibly weakened.

[member="Mirien Valdier"]

Aww, you're so sweet together! The cutest darksiders and blood mages I've ever known. Will you shut up? No, your writer thinks these internal monologues are funny. Or maybe that you have MPD. The Hollywood version since our writer is clueless about the medical condition. You should get a gift for Miri! Yeah, I should.

In any case, Siobhan managed to get tear her mind away from her annoying writer inducing monologues with herself into her mind, and focus on the beautiful brunette next to her. "You're such a sweetheart, you know that? My Miri," she spoke fondly, giving the woman a hug. "Ok. Rest it is then. Think you can make it to the bed? A nap down here isn't comfortable."

Mirien sighed softly, as she shifted a little. "I think, with help I can make it up the stairs." The whole experience made her beyond exhausted, to the point that even her bones ached within. It seemed there was a price to doing alchemy like this, uncomfortable and painful price of extending herself and exhausting her powers to this point. "Can you help me? Or should we call for Chesna or Harmony to help us both get upstairs and into bed? We both need the rest. I just feel like I'll barely be able to stand."

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

[member="Mirien Valdier"]

"I think I can handle it. Just let us gather up the holocron and the crystals," Siobhan said, evidently panting since it seemed her breathing had become laboured. Likewise her bones were aching. Still, despite the strain she was under she managed to help Mirien up the stairs, though not without being at the risk of stumbling once or twice.

Eventually she would end up in the bedroom...and then promptly collapse onto the bed. She clearly did not have the energy to take off her clothes. As if on cue Harmony showed up, looking both innocent and mischievous as usual. "Intense training session, am I right, Mistresses?" she asked with a strong element of snark in her voice. As a rule, all servants in the Kerrigan-Alcori household were pretty, female and total trolls. On the positive side, they were incredibly accommodating when it came to serving their mistresses' needs and desires.

"Do you need help? Would you like me to tuck you in? And cuddle with you?" she asked sweetly. Siobhan groaned a bit and like a good handmaiden Harmony helped her settle down and lie in a more comfortable position, propping up a pillow beneath her head. If Mirien needed help, she would oblige her.

The box of doom seemed to have really warmed up to our favorite resident psychopath.

Ah, yes, yes my child. I forget about the concept of time too often. Things like that slip away when you no longer have a body. My dear apprentice I can easily teach you the art of mentalism, Sith poison as well as force plague. They interest you, no? Spoken with the fondness of a parent to a beloved child. For the box was all for getting chummy with Naamah for she could help him when he was most vulnerable, an easy escape should things go awry here.

It pondered for a moment what to tell her of the acolytes on his forgotten world.

The planet is deserted in the Rishi Maze except for those chosen acolytes of Chaos. Hand selected from several other planets within the Maze. There are perhaps two dozen of them there now, waiting for my return, our return. We prize those who are born knowing that pain, and chaos reign supreme. Each nearly as twisted and dark as you, though I must admit you are an amazing specimen compared to them. Pristinely gifted in the art of torture, agony and pain, enjoying every second of it. Beautiful. I believe you could be groomed into something great. You would make a fine queen, my dear child. Their Queen. Truly child, I believe you one day could ascend and replace me as their divine goddess of Chaos.

The Box certainly liked her, and then some. She was perfect in its eyes.

[member="Naamah Aesham"]

"I'm glad, I just ..." She took in a deep breath, "Can't do it on my own." It wasn't easy for her to admit the weakness but it was impossible to hide this time. And actually more than grateful for the help up the stairs and in the bedroom. Mirien flopped upon the bed, unable to really move beyond that. Her body was beyond done.

"That would be a slight understatement..." Mirien managed before she managed with an extreme bit of effort, managed to roll on her back.

"Please, Harmony. It would be greatly appreciated." More than happy to let the handmaiden tuck her into bed, comfortably.

And so we are back with another episode featuring the cutest couple on the site. We are, of course, talking about Naamah and the box of pure malice. Who knew psychopathic sadists could be so cute? Naamah was probably rather nuts, but she was not blind to the fact that the box evidently had an ulterior motive in being so chummy with her. However, she did not mind. They were both getting something out of this as well. Moreover, to be frank she really liked the Sith spirit.

She had finally found someone who was like a kindred spirit to her. She could not remember anyone being so sweet to her in recent years. Mirien certainly had never been. Somehow this brought out all sorts of schoolgirlish feelings inside her and she could not help the beaming smile that crossed her lips. It was like she had finally found someone who understood her. Yes, dear reader, this was probably the closest Naamah had been to being shiny and happy.

"Thank you. That's high praise coming from you...Master. I can't wait to see the Rishi Maze with my own eyes and meet the acolytes of Chaos that have gathered there. Truly, it sounds magnificient and pure. I'm delighted to hear what you can teach me. I have been dabbling in draining the life force of others and cloaking myself through shadows, but mentalism I have not explored yet. Harnessing the power to inflict sickness and creating Sith poisons sounds delightful to me. I am eager to learn and inflict untold torment with these dark gifts," she said happily, feeling truly cheerful. More and more this one is starting to believe that Naamah represents the Chaotic Evil, psycho variant of Coryth Elaris if the little redhead went completely off the nails and acquired a case of sadistic insanity.

"I'm here to serve you, Mistress," Harmony said sweetly before she tucked Mirien and Siobhan in, making sure that they were well covered and warmed by the blanket and had a firm pillow beneath their heads. For her part Siobhan slowly drifted towards Mirien, wrapping her fellow brunette in her arms. Coincidentally she really liked to cuddle. Her breasts also made magnificient pillows.

Then Harmony climbed into bed with them, snuggling against Mirien before giving the woman a kiss on the cheek. "The Great Mistress Kerrigan really likes you. Any time she talks about you she is as radiant as the stars and she gets all sappy. It's sooo cute," she trolled.

"Harmony," Siobhan said sharply, feeling an urge to reach out and give the girl a smack but she was too tired and did not have the energy.

"What? Just saying you two are adorable."

The timeline of the tremendously thrilling quest to save the life of [member="Coryth Elaris"] and destroy the vile box of pure maliciousness was extremely confusing. As a matter of fact, it was such a mess that simply thinking about it was more than enough to cause a headache. At the start of the quest, the Republic had still ruled Coruscant, the One Sith had barely been a blip on the radar and Cater had held sway over the Omega Protectorate. Now, untold ages later, the Republic had changed chancellors twice, restructured its government, lost its capital and was now at risk of collapsing due to the Sith blitzkrieg, the Omega Protectorate was now on its fifth Protector and plenty of Jedi had been captured or turned to the dark side.

All in all, the past few months had been very eventful. Or years. No one is really sure how much time had passed. Doubtless this would be a massive headache for any historian who was trying to make sense of things and write a book about it. Anyhow, life continued as normal. Or as normal as it could on the planet of ultrafeminist space elves.

Far away from the hospital that had been the centre of so much commotion and was still under heavy guard from Eldorai soldiers, Kaida Taldir was restless. For a change it was not about the question whether she was still a Captain or already a Seraph, since it's unclear when the Lost Kar'zun invasion takes place in relation tot his quest. After having read a bit in her book, she had watched the telly. More specifically she had watched a holodocumentary about Behemoths, the fearsome sea monsters that ruled the vast ocean of Kaeshana. The documentary had been interesting, but alas turned terribly sensationalist when the reporters started yammering about ancient Eldorai myths of an apex behemoth called Zakayur who may one day rise and drown Kaeshana if he is not beaten. Aside from getting several details of Eldorai mythology wrong, the reporters had prattled on about a being called 'Cthulhu' and Lotek'k...which had naturally resulted in fangirling about the thoroughly annoying Countess Kerrigan.

That said, the details about Adril Tythorin giving her life to slay Cthulhu had been interesting, though Kaida doubted she had been as much of a paragon as the programme made her out to be. Regardless, she still found herself restless and so now she was outside, standing before the apartment complex as she looked upon the sky. Night had fallen upon Santaissa, though the city did not sleep. There was still traffic in the sky, though a good deal more low-key than usual. In the distance noise could be heard, sounds of partying.

There was no storm, but it was raining and there was a cold breeze, though this did not bother her, even as raindrops dripped down her cheeks. She sort of had a working relationship with water and ice, after all. Why was she outside at this late hour? To try out something she had wanted to do for quite a while. She took a deep breath, seeking to banish a measure of uncertainty she felt at what she was about to attempt. Siobhan Kerrigan had succeeded and kept incessantly showing off at any moment. Kaida hoped she would not end up like that. Relying on this Force power was frankly a waste of energy and she liked to think that she tended to be more economical in the use of her powers. Lieutenant Tempest had managed as well and she was someone Kaida actually liked.

So with that in mind she gazed up upon the stars. There had been so many sleepless nights spent when she and Lavina looked upon them and wondered what was out there in the Galaxy. Well, now they knew. They had been able to fulfil their dream. Their time spent in exile after being banished for questioning the truths their people considered sacred had been filled with adventure. With peril as well, of course, but she had come out stronger for it. As they say, what did not kill you made you stronger.

She stood still for a while, waiting for the traffic to clear up a bit since, even though there were far less speeders and skycars in the air at this hour, it would be terribly awkward and also rather embarrassing if she ended up crashing into one because she lacked control. As she waited she concentrated deeply and focused intently. Concentration was etched over her features as she harnessed her Sciia and drew upon the awe-inspiring power of the Force, pulling it inside her. In a controlled, economic manner, though no less insistent. The Force was a powerful ally, though unlike a Jedi she thought not that it possessed a will. But it was a means to fulfil her duty to protect Kaeshana and its people.

Thus as she focused she harnessed its power to conjure up a wind. There was a cold rush as the spinning wind manifested, though rather than sweeping outward across area it manifested around her, becoming ever stronger and stronger with each passing moment as she utilised her powers to intensify it. This was not accomplished easily and strain could be seen upon her face, her eyes a crystalline blue. She sucked in air, then suddenly, with the Force flowing through her muscles to give them strength, she leapt into the air. Very, very high. The winds she had called engulfed her as she shot upward into the sky at great speed and carried her upward, propelling her towards high altitudes. She was still new to this and it showed as she seemed rather wobbly, shaking a good deal.

A speeder, which just happened to be shooting through narrowly avoided her, amidst much cursing on the part of the driver and the passengers when they had to take a sharp turn to steer away. For a moment she temporarily lost control, having been distracted by the sudden roar of the engines, and as a consequence seemed to be falling, the cold hard ground beneath her coming closer and closer as she descended to what seemed to be a very painful and most likely fatal collision, but then she caught herself and shot upwards, pushing herself to higher and higher altitudes until she was levitating above the white stone buildings for which Santaissa had become so well-known ever since Kaeshana had opened up to the rest of the Galaxy.

Rain continued pouring down, sluicing across walls and roof-tiles, dripping down her face and clothes, but she cared not. As the wind howled, Kaida took a moment to exhale the breath she had been holding as she looked down upon the beautiful city beneath her. In the far distance she could make out the White Citadel and the enormous ziggurat where the Star Queen resided. Her city. Not meant in a possessive sense, for she was just a soldier, but the city and the people she was dedicated to protect. Most of them did not know the truth behind the origins of their people like she did, they were ignorant of the more sordid and darker aspects of the Eldorai past, but that did not make them her people any less. For a moment at least she understood why Kerrigan loved flying so much. The woman was a queen and a pompous showoff, but nonetheless the Angelii could not deny that the feeling of taking off to the sky and leaving the world behind you - or rather beneath you - could only be described as glorious and so she let the winds carry her through the air and across Santaissa.

Hevana Martin

Hair-triggered Super Soldier
Hevana stared blankly at the droid. She honestly did not get it, but then she had only been a grunt scout trooper in the largest military force the Galaxy had ever known. If they were not in her direct line of command, the leadership of the Empire had been outside her concerns. Her memory might be perfect, that did not mean she could remember things she had never learned in the first place. As Hevana was one of the most tactful people in the Galaxy, she tried to find a way to relay this without hurting the droids feelings... if it had any.

"Well its getting late and I still need to get that report for Siobhan done," she said looking at the time. "So if you excuse me I need to get ready for bed."

Yup, smooth as silk. Making her intention even clearer she got up and began setting up her cot and removing her armor. She had nothing to change into, so she would just have to deal with the bodysuit worn under the armor. Truthfully she had slept in worse. Once everything was settled she got into the cot and pulled out her datapad. It was quick work since she already knew the best people for the job. That done she turned off the lights and went to sleep. It would be a busy day tomorrow.

Hours passed by, Coryth resting peacefully for the first time in an extremely long while. The morning rays soon peaked through the blinds in the hospital room, causing the redhead to stir slightly. A hand lifted to rub at her forehead as she groaned softly, and shifted onto her side. Anything just to escape the rising sun for a little longer. It was then that the pain, and trauma of recent events returned to her. Opening her eyes, the tiny woman glanced around the room, feeling the light-sided energy from the crystals surrounding her bed, keeping the voice from beyond from entering her mind.

"Hevana?" She whispered, her voice hoarse and sore. The woman was still exhausted down to the bone. Slowly, with great care she started to sit up, trying to find her thoughts in the process. The soldier still seemed to be sleeping peacefully on the cot beside her. A sigh came and passed, as her mind drifted to what things needed to be done. Every part of her just wanted to head off to Malachor V, get the mess over with and somehow find a way to end the voice from the box and defeats it's evil.

In Umbris Potestas Est
In the meantime, Circe continued to sit on Malachor V with the box. Seeing as there was very little else to do, she was currently having tea with it, The box did not physically respond as she placed a small bonnet on top of it, a cup of fine herbal tea on a small plate in front of it, but it gave off a somewhat frustrated vibe as Circe clinked together the tea glasses and drank one of them, while waiting for the one that was supposed to arrive here. Hopefully, there would not be any issues.

The last thing she needed was to get stabbed to death again.

And so it suddenly was morning again after a quick time skip. Needless to say we shall presume that at some point during the night Kaida had returned to her apartment. After having used the Force to fly around a lot and get soaked with rain. Perhaps she had enjoyed a nice, warm bubble bath before going to bed. Or whatever.

Anyhow, the Angelii awoke early in the morning, for she was a light sleeper and unlike Siobhan a bit of a morning person. As the morning rays peeked through the curtains in her apartment, Kaida went through her usual routine, which consisted of sit-ups, push-ups and then a series of chin-ups while news speeked out of the holotelly. However, the news caster seemed to be a bit confused since she kept switching topics, as if she did not know what the actual timeline was. One moment she was complaining about Jedi inaction against Mandalorian warmongering and sabre-rattling, the next reporting that Manaan had fallen to the evil Sith and their savage Vong hordes, then reporting about Countess Kerrigan's latest dalliances.

It was all very confusing so Kaida did not pay much attention to it. She was liberated from this thread's confusing timeline when suddenly her comm began beeping incessantly, so she leapt down from the beam she had been doing chin-ups on and walked over, her blonde hair, which had been tied into a severe ponytail, matted with sweat. She frowned slightly as she read the message, which was brief, concise and to the point. Angelii never wasted much time with words and speechifying.

Long story cut short, she was told to report to the Firemane hospital and join our band of heroines on the quest to smash the evil box, kill Sithies and make sure the short stack of fire survived. After all, if something happened to Coryth...the fangirls would rage. No one wanted to piss off the fangirls!

Hevana Martin

Hair-triggered Super Soldier
Hevana stirred in her cot, conscious coming slowly at first then in a rush once she recalled where she was. Like any seasoned soldier she was typically not a heavy sleeper, but it seems stress of the situation mixed with the comfort of Coryth's presence had knocked her right out. Once she realized that Hevana bolted strait up in her cot and looked to check on Coryth, and seeing the other woman awake a small smile spread across her face.

"Morning," she said trying to shake the last of the sleep from her mind. "How are you feeling after sleeping?"

[member="Coryth Elaris"] [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Siobhan's breasts certainly did make great pillows as she inched closer to Sio, more than happy to cuddle alongside her.

Mirien couldn't help but chuckle a little at Harmony's words as she got into bed. "Is that so?" She grinned cheekily. "I wonder, does she use any of the lines from her sappy romance novels?" The brunette shifted to look at Siobhan. "Yes, I found them. Left a few notes in one, I'm sure you'll find them eventually." She teased as she playfully tapped Sio on the nose before finally relaxing on her back between the two women. Life certainly was good.

Soon enough, Mirien fell asleep and no doubt the others did too. Hours passed and soon the sun was rising into the sky. Bright light started to peak in through the curtains as Miri shifted before slowly opening her eyes. "Ugh, morning .... damn thing comes way too soon." She said grumpily as she grabbed her pillow and pulled it over her face to shield her eyes from the light.
