With eyes wide open (a past rp)(complete)

The likely hood he carried spare part was zero. He did not have the spare parts and it was starting to look as if they may never get on this cursed planet. He could not tell [member="Arianna Darklighter"] that news. She would freak. "No, sorry I will just have to repair it or forge new parts.” The inspection was done. He could force new parts like fins, easy parts like that but not the mechanical parts like on the engines. That would mean just to get the metal for the fins he would have to mine for raw metal ore. The engines were a huge problem.

There was something about the look on his face as passive as it was as unreadable as he could be Arianna just knew it, "Its bad isn't it?" She wouldn't let this get her down, no. But then she wasn't exactly a calm person anyhow, it would come about that she would lose it, and cry, and yell.

She laughed nervously, "Well what do you need for a forge?" She had ideas on forges but not what Garith would need. She was sore and tired, she tried not to yawn. She looked at Garith sleepily. "I guess next we start looking around to see what we can find to fix the ship with" and eat she thought, and drink.

It was bad but there was no reason to tell [member="Arianna Darklighter"] how bad. The least things she needed was to lose hope. “You should go get some rest”, she did yawn. “I will gather some base materials around the ship that I will need to make cement."

[member="Togashi Yokuni"]

"I can help with that, just tell me what to look for" she wobbled slightly but she was doing ok, perhaps a second wind would help. Or stimcaf, or fresh air. "What base materials are needed Garith?" she would push herself to do thing it was important to gather them, to get what they needed to fix the ship. Her arm still hurt like something had bitten her, but it couldn't be too bad she didn't feel bad, just sleepy. Stupid bugs she thought.

She shook her head, "tell me what you need Garith?" She waited...

“I need you to take a moment and not be stubborn. You need rest. Please do not push yourself. I need to gather things like clay, things to make a fire, and start to make some ceramic pots. While those are cooing I can look for sand and a few other materials I will need to make home made cement.”

"ok" it was all she could say, "i'm going to lay down" Arianna rubbed her arm again as she headed inside, it had been a long long night and she was tired. She wouldn't argue this time, and she wouldn't worry too much right now.

He seemed himself and that was all that mattered to her right now. Clay pots, how was he going to do that. She shook her head as she laid down. She knew he could hear her thought she tried to keep them silent but they just keep slipping out.

If he was listening in to her mind he would be laughing. The last thing Yokuni wished was poking around in the mind of a woman. The true mind of a woman was a mystery to him. It seemed like a real dangerous thing to dive into in such a cavalier way. Not to mentioned it kept things interesting for Yokuni if he did not read there minds. It kept things new and exciting.

As [member="Arianna Darklighter"] slept Yokuni got a lot accomplished. He had to start with making a make shift kelm that was more befitting of something would make in a bronze age period. It would work but it meant he had to keep a fire stoked and that meant when nightfall came he was still out side of the ship drinking whiskey and sitting around the camp fire. There was always that possibility she could wake up before dawn. Yokuni knew this and figured she would come and check up on him or go back to sleep.

Arianna was sleeping soundly the night before had left her uncomfortable and worried thus making it hard for her to sleep. Sleep did come her dreams were always odd, they had always been so, always full of running, shouting, darkness, and a final scream.

When she awoke she could hear nothing no insects no Garith fussing about. Half asleep she got up pulling on his shirt, it was dark out. She stood in the doorway of the ship looking out at him. He was sitting by the camp fire from where she stood she could only see half of his face. This image of him was so much like who he was half of him bathed in light, the other in darkness unseen. He was drinking again she knew now that his drinking helped to keep the beast within him passive.

She had built up so many romantic ideas about what men and women were to one another that it was eye opening to learn that the truth was nothing like her ideas. She made her way towards him the closer she got the more she grew cautious, "Garith" she whispered in a soft voice. "are you ok?"

She was now near his seated position she reached out and placed her hand on his arm. He was wrong when he thought that she didn't want to know the real him and if she had known him to have that thought she would have told him so. It was evident his was a complex man, who wouldn't be after 900 years. She knew it would take time, understanding and patience to know as much as 1/10th of him

Near the kelm Garith had erected a camp fire and around the campfire were cut logs. There were more then one and forma circle around the camp fire. The wind shifted time to time and thus shifted the smoke from the fire. Hence the reason why there was a ring of more then one log seat around the camp fire. “I’m fine please come take a seat and get a drink of whiskey if you like.”

[member="Arianna Darklighter"]

Arianna came around it felt peaceful for the moment she wasn't sure about the whiskey maybe but maybe not. She opted to sit closer to him before the fire watching how the flames licked upwards, tiny sparks filling the sky.

The sound of snapping as another unfortunate insect found its way into the flames. "This part I think I like, my family has a cabin on the lake in the mountains of Alderaan. Its so peaceful there, you might like it"

She liked it, "do you do things like this just for relaxing?"

[member="Togashi Yokuni"]

“I might”, he answered that he might like the cabin. Listening Yokuni poked at the fire with a stick. It looked like he was moving pieces of wood so it would burn better. “I did some thinking. Not counting technical repairs or mining for ore I came up with a estimated time just to patch up the hull. It is going to take more then a few months. It could take up to a year just to make sure it is done right.” He figured this new was not real good news to her but there was a positive side to that news. At least it was a answer that patching up the hull was not just possible but it was a fact it could happen.

"a year" she whispered, "they might think I'm dead by then" Would her family think that? Oh no, what agony would Rianna go through. Arianna looked away distressed at the thought that Rianna would think herself alone.

She turned back, "No sooner?" She asked hopeful, "what about communications?" Maybe they could get help. Yes it was good news he could fix it, but did he understand her duress, her concern. It could be awful.

[member="Arianna Darklighter"]

“No”, he knew that was not a good idea and only should be used unless they had no choice. “We’re not going to use the comm unless we have no choice. The people that were chasing do know what direction we went in. They would pick up our signal before anyone else. I do not have to tell you how much trouble we would be in if they came here.”

[member="Togashi Yokuni"]

No he did not need to tell her she was painfully aware of what could happen. She would feel guilt over causing her sister so much agony. "Well tomorrow then I will get the kitchen cleaned up, and boxes stored away. Maybe we can find a few useful things under it all"

Yes useful. "Garith, I feel sad will you hold me?" She didn't know how to express to him why she felt sad, why the guilt was eat at her. And that somehow in the end all of this she would feel responsible for.

[member="Togashi Yokuni"]

She didn't care right now, she needed comfort and she wasn't going to argue with him, or protest. She got up and sat down on his lap, curling up to lay her head on his shoulder. She felt his warmth, it alone was a comfort.

"Thank you Garith" She laid there thinking.

[member="Arianna Darklighter"]

At the moment it did not mater either way to Yokuni. He did help to stabilize her on his lap by wrapping his left arm around her waist. The last thing he wanted to hear was her crying again.”Your welcome”, he said a little bit nervously though as he continued to poke at the fire. This was a bit softer then what he was used to. He maybe stuck with her now but at least he could sleep easy he could dump her off at the next populated planet with star travel capability the next time he got the chance.

She started talking not aware that he was ready to dump her off somewhere, "I lost my family when I was younger" she knew she had already told him that, "I know how awful the pain is inside thinking you've got no one left" She didn't know where Rianna was for years, separated for their safety they said.

"Its a hollow pain that never ends, never quite goes away." She moved slightly, "I'm sad because my Sister will live through that loss again, and there's nothing I can do about it." She turned her face she wasn't going to cry, she just needed to know she wasn't alone with her grief, her pain.

"She's alone except for all those people she lives with, and they are nearly emotionless" She saw jedi as having no emotions.

As she spoke, as he was thinking what he had been thinking...Yokuni felt a tab bit guilty. Then he started to feel uncomfortable in the way guys get when woman move on their laps, and she kept on talking. Exerting some will power he refused to let his blood rush any where. It was not the time for such things as she was talking about delicate things in her life. It would have been just improper.

Ok in normal situation he might have let himself but he just felt compelled to behave himself. “Hold some faith”, funny he said faith, as one day they would have a daughter named Faith. “Let the Force guide you. Trust that it has reasons to bring us here. Your sister is some where right now. If you and her is as close as you say. She will know you’re still alive. She would feel it in every fiber of her being. Just as you would and might right now. Trust in these things. If something was to happen to her right now you would feel it.”

Yes in the course of time they would have a daughter named Faith who would be as stubborn as her father, but was solid as a rock, and always seeking to do the right thing.

Arianna nodded, "I hope you are Garith" she whispered, she laid her hand flat on his chest he felt strong at this moment, he felt, oh god she stopped he felt desireable. She closed her eyes as goosebumps ran down her arm it was the oddest sensation.

Maybe she needed to go back to bed, alone. very alone. oh yea...no wild thoughts no.. hidden desires...damn...

"I will try to listen to my intuition to know" She picked up her head, half smiled. "Thanks Garith" she genuinely felt greatful to him for a few things, he was being rather cooperative about this touching things.
