Their days had finally started to find some rhythm to them each day began early they had a simple breakfast usually stimcaf. The Stimcaf was not going to last a year and Arianna knew she’d have to find something else for them to have for breakfast. She was learning each day how to take care of things like making sure Garith had water during the day, or food when he needed it.
They were growing more than dependent upon one another they were growing closer. She was learning his mood swings and when to just stay away from him letting him vent his frustrations, except at night.
With their evening meal of whatever she could manage without burning it to a crisp they would sit by the fire and eat. Talking about the day he was working hard at everything that she was all thumbs at.
He hunted their food. He mined the ore, he forged the repairs. She cleaned, cooked, and gathered other foods from the surrounding area. They had fallen into their roles she took care of him, he took care of her. She was losing her fear of him from that one night, and once again began to see him just as Garith, the guy who saved her.
She would lean on him after each meal, there by the fire seeking his comfort, his protection from the world around them.
She had even taken to trying to mend the holes that appeared in their clothing, their shared clothing. She was wearing his clothes, not only did it cover her but it reminded her of him throughout the day when she thought things were at their worst the feel of his clothes were like the night he hugged her warm, inviting and a comfort.
She began to keep a calendar to remember what day it was. It was helpful for her sanity.
All she knew, she counted on him to be here. Goddess help her if anything happened to him.
