A United Jedi Order

[member="Kira Talith"] - A major faction, in my opinion, would defeat the purpose of being unaligned with any particular government. If we did that, then we would be Jedi Lords, and I don't think anyone wants to do that.

As for whether or not the faction forums would be moved, I cannot speak for them. I'm just a guy with an idea that tons of other people have had, I don't lead any of the major groups anymore.

I would hope that we would have a singular large minor faction with sub-forums for each group, if they wished to have one, but would otherwise be dedicated to unified order.

In totality, the logistics of it all would need to be discussed with everyone who helped establish their own forums in the first place. Making any assumptions would be a disservice to them.

Jedi Academy Network, yo. That's all the faction we'd need.

Keep everything on the board. Keep it IC. Every meeting of the High Council? That should be a thread in the open role play section with like 10,000 views and a label that says sizzling.

how does that really unify or change the current status quo at all?
A. Public perception. (+)
B. A higher level of team work and coordination amongst characters and writers. (+)
B. The Invasion Rules for Requesting Aid still cap at 10 guests. So unless this idea goes Major? Members will still be taking up an Ally slot during FvF. (~)

It is an idea that deserves merit, but certainly would require lots of compromise.

If the Jedi Academy Network is used as the "The Jedi Order Umbrella forum." then organizing it and having every jedi member of all orders joining it would be a good start.

The thing is to make sure there is good communication constantly -- and for new people, to know exactly where they can go if they are looking for jedi.

The Jedi Academy has that right now because it is on the most popular faction page, so certainly it can be reorganized to give a place to all the other orders to meet.

Both [member="Ilias Nytrau"] and I are admins there and are willing to help out.

Just depends on if everyone is onboard.

And honestly ... no... I wouldn't want to see this ever go major. Like.. ever. Staying minor is key.

Agree with all of this. As for my view on how it would changes the status qou: ICly a united Order would result in increased morale, any Jedi could help another without feeling obligated to their own group, we can all participate in larger storylines with more people, the general unified atmosphere would be there, and...(my fingers are starting to hurt) I'm sure we could find ways to deal with invasions, for those who want to be involved.

[member="Isley Verd"] - I agree entirely with keeping all meeting on an open board for all to see.

I'd love to see the Jedi Order united again. I think it makes sense for them to be this way IC, and it would work as an IC development as the various splinter factions see the success of the One Sith and decide that they have to stand together against the Sith or fall divided. Because of the nature of the Jedi Order, it absolutely makes sense for them to not be tied to any one galactic government, and instead act as a universal peacekeeping organization which prioritizes defeating the Sith above all else.

If you do have an interesting twist on the Jedi philosophy, I think the board would benefit from some re-branding. We have so many factions, and yet force user Orders still fall either into the category of either Jedi or Sith. Why not start a new tradition, create a new culture, write a new code? There will always be a place for the Jedi and Sith, and that will probably always be the biggest place on the board, but that doesn't mean they should have a monopoly.

[member="Kira Talith"] has the right of it, for the Jedi Academy Network. We're more than willing to accommodate the process, if people are willing to be on board with this goal.

[member="Isley Verd"] - Open board RP? That's free advertising! I never do training threads of any kind in faction forums. I despise keeping IC of any kind in faction forums. Open faction forums? Yep. That's already in place at the JAN. :D

Invasions wouldn't be the only place this collaboration counts.

#BattleoftheGods

Could you imagine every Jedi and every Sith in one thread duking it out? Unf.
Since my intentions is to whipe out both force religions... i would love to see this ( readies thermo-nuclear dual fission/fussion dark matter anti-mater lazer)

So much yes to this. Doing training and rp in a forum is what prevents people from seeing activity.

Doing it on the actual main rp forum is what gets attention.

Remember. Any member can create any Faction at any time, and recieve as much support as possible. A trait of this website that we all support habit to it's fullest. However, that is not the topic at hand. *wink wink* :)

Also... in regards to invasions and ally slots...

Faction owners of any invading factions can simply agree in their terms to up the amount or not let there be an ally limit....

Just saying.
