Alderaan, Shades of Grey

Verrin couldn't help the small smile that tugged on his lips. The dance hadn't fully started yet, but he could also tell she was holding back to let him test and grow his abilities, but he couldn't help but wonder about the day when he was good enough to truly make her try, when the 'dance' would truly be worthy of being called such. More then that, he had yet to feel the normal desires he did when he fought, even sparred, so it was working oddly well.

He gave a soft hum which blended well with the hum of his saber at the new stance; he wasn't sure he had ever seen that before, but his experience with duel wielders was incredibly limited. Verrin took a small step forward and make a quick thrust to test the waters and the stance, if she turned away, he would move with her. If she smacked it down, he would pull it back and try another quick thrust. Smack it to the side, and he would step with it to keep the flow going.

While he expected her to block the jab she did something far from normal, the way she held the blades allowed for her to make a simple downwards facing V with them and slide up his own blade. Hoping to take him by surprise she smiled as she deactivated her right blade and brought her elbow across as she came within arms distance and tried to knock him onto his back with the strike. She wasnt sure if it would work, but it would be interesting if it did and to see how he would react to such a... dishonorable way to strike out at him. @Verrin Ris'To

Verrin widened his eyes in surprise as she slide up his own blade locking it in place, he was about to lean in and try to over-power her with his superior size, despite only using one hand, when her right saber turned off and her elbow impacted with his chest. Caught off by the blow, Verrin stumbled backwards and blinked a few times in surprise. He reached up and rubbed his right pectoral getting a feel for the bruise he knew would be there in the morning.

It was.. clever. Why hadn't he ever tried to do that? With his free hand, it would be easy to strike out with it, "How did you know when to strike?" Verrin asked, his lightsaber still humming by his right leg.

Alexandra shrugged as she deactivated both of her blades but held them in her hand. "I have alot of experience to be honest, and a bit of training in reading muscle movement. Once you can see which muscles are being used as well as a person's stance you can predict the most likely point of attack... continue." She didnt activate her sabers, planning to give him another new experience in saber fighting while she prepared to use her abilities in Trakata. @Verrin Ris'To

"I have alot of experience to be honest, and a bit of training in reading muscle movement. Once you can see which muscles are being used as well as a person's stance you can predict the most likely point of attack... continue." That made sense, so he simply had to practice lashing out with his body as well, he could do that... well, at least it sounded easy in principle.

Stepping forward, he made another thrust, but turned it at the last minute, bringing it swiftly back then bringing it down at her left shoulder in a cross slash.

She smiled and moved to dodge the first strike, but as the blade changed direction she activated one of the sabers to block it in time, though she was still vulnerable because of her next move. Still smiling her second saber was ignited as well, though purposefully missing him as it would have been aimed just to the the left of him, burning his robes at most. @Verrin Ris'To

Her saber passed close to his arm, and he could feel the heat as it singed his robes, the smell of burning fabric filling his nose. He had been looking for an opening to use his left arm so much that he had forgotten to move it out of the way, it was almost funny how that worked.

Verrin stepped forward, moving his lightsaber down to graze near her right arm, but his move was slower as he wasn't as experienced, and, her own blow moments before had surprised him, and he was still off-balance from it.

Even with him off balance the blade grazed her and sent searing pain up her arm and through her body, but she didnt cry out. No instead she deactivated both her sabers before dropping them and sent her foot out to the side behind him of him, grabbing at the back of his shirt and her left on his arm as she smiled. Her leg shot back, taking his feet out from under him if she could and then pulling back on his shirt and arm to try and send him down to the ground. If her still held his saber and was on the ground she would place her foot onto his wrist to stop him from striking at her with it. Once, and only if, all that worked she would kneel down on his chest and try to pin him with her knees. "Hi." @Verrin Ris'To

Verrin opened his mouth to apologize for grazing her as he had never meant to burn her, the guilt rushing through him when she deactivated her sabers. She stepped closer to him, and he felt her grab onto him, and he wasn't sure what she was doing, so he stiffened up not used to such close contact with someone else... The next thing he knew, his world was spinning before his eyes and his back smashed into the earth behind him. Instincts told him to slash at her as he fell, but the guilt over having grazed her was still fresh in his mind, so his lightsaber deactivated, but he held on to the handle.

A sudden weight on his chest made him give out a small grunt as some of the air was pushed out of him and his arms were pinned. Blinking Verrin got his bearings back and was now staring up into Alexandra's eyes, "Hi."

It didn't take long for his mind to make the connection and take into account the position they were in, so like most young men, his face took on a few tones of scarlet despite his attempt at fighting it, "H-Hi.." he whispered back not sure what had happened as he tried to wheel in his imagination and figure out just what was going on.

She smiled and stepped back, holding her hand out to him as he showed a bit of embarrassment, speaking as she did. "Good job back there, you certainly caused a good deal of damage on my arm, and i must say i was certainly challenged by you." She rested her free hand behind her back as it crossed it. Her eyes remained soft like her smile. @Verrin Ris'To

Verrin let out a slow breath as the weight on his chest lifted as she stood up and offered him her hand, "Good job back there, you certainly caused a good deal of damage on my arm, and i must say i was certainly challenged by you."

Another small smile slipped out as he took her hand and accepted her help at pulling him up, "I don't think so... But thank you for saying so anyways," he said as he was still sure she could have easily beaten him if the fight had been even the little bit serious, he looked at her arm again, "I am sorry about... I have some gel that will help it heal," he offered as it was fairly standard for padawans to carry with them since accidents happened far too often during sparing for them to not carry around some kind of ointment.

She shook her head and looked at the wound, it wasnt bleeding alot, or much at all, so she didnt worry as she spoke. "Im fine, thank you for the offer though but keep it incase someone is injured worse than me, it wont kill me and y home isnt far off if i need your help getting there... well... ok actually i see nothing wrong with helping me out, do you have the gel itself on you now or back somewhere else?" @Verrin Ris'To

Verrin nodded slowly as she talked changing from this and that, it was a little funny before she finally settled on a decision, "I have it with me," he said reaching into his robes to pull out the small silver cylinder. It was tiny barely three inches long, and Verrin was aware of how potent and expensive it was to get, but she had helped him, and he had hurt her; the very least he could do was try to make up for it.

He held it out to her, "Here, do you need help?" Verrin asked still feeling guilty about the ordeal as well as feeling responsible to ensure she got better from his mistake which was something he was going to work on to ensure he never did it again... or... try to ensure he never did it again.

"I would be fine with you helping me, with my luck i wouldnt apply the right amount and then it wouldn't work or i would be wasting it. Further you dont need to be sorrry, mistakes happen all the time, and had you been in a fight, you would have been a bit of a pain to fight, seeing as i think that is what held you back from keeping focused on fighting." She smiled and without a care tore the robe's sleeve above the wound and slid the sleeve off her arm, letting for simple access to the wound itself and waiting for him to begin applying it. @Verrin Ris'To

Verrin hadn't really expected her to accept his help and offered it more out of politeness and personal responsibility, but he would do it because he said he would, but he was... happier then he should have been at her compliment. He had been moving slower and swinging slower because he didn't want to hurt her, and while he still didn't think he could beat her, he was flattered that she thought he would be a pain to fight.

Removing the small cap on the cylinder, he dabbed a small amount of the gel onto his right hand. To his sensitive nose, he always thought it smelled rather nice with a certain earthy hint to it. He moved to take her arm in his left hand to lift it closer to him so he could apply the cool gel to the red burn and try and sooth it. Verrin ignored the fact that he was, once again, far closer to her then he had been before which was something he was not used to. Being so close to another person was just not an experience he was used to, "It will tingle a bit."

Alexandra nodded and turned to look at the river as she realized how close he was and due to the fact they werent fighting, causing a small reddening but to the point it was barely noticed as she dismissed it in a moment. "Thank you, and got it." She resisted the urge to wince as she felt it and then let out a sigh as it didnt hurt too much past that. It did tinge as he continued and she watched him closely, forcing herself to ignore the closeness. @Verrin Ris'To

"Thank you, and got it." Verrin concentrated on the job at hand, smoothing the gel over the burn and over his mistake, as messing up due to nerves was not really something he wanted to do. Since he was working, and it would only get... more... well, it would only be harder to concentrate on the task at hand if the silence contiuned, he tried to steer a conversation, "Do you live out here by yourself?" He asked smoothing the gel over the other side of her arm and around the edges to ensure it didn't get infected as that was the largest fear with something like this. The stinging pain was, well, painful, but infection was what took people down.

Alexandra shook her head slowly. "Yes and no, but mostly the latter. I part of a compound that is not far from here to the south." Her eyes watched him apply it, studying and remembering how he did it so that she would know the next time. "You need any help or no? Also, how come you arent here with your master... i mean i know you told me but i thought you would be watched more carefully by a personal master." @Verrin Ris'To

"Yes and no, but mostly the latter. I part of a compound that is not far from here to the south." Verrin looked up to meet her eyes and nodded, "I am glad you are not always alone out here," His entire life had been spent around people in some shape or form, he wasn't sure he would want to be alone in an enclave. He didn't mind being alone when he was off exploring, but he would like there to be people when he came home.

"You need any help or no? Also, how come you arent here with your master... i mean i know you told me but i thought you would be watched more carefully by a personal master." He looked back up to her, his blue eyes blinked a few times before it clicked. He was going to be in.. a lot of trouble. He hadn't intended to be gone so long. It felt like he had only been here for a little awhile, but from the position of the sun, he had probably been there closer to hours, "I am just rubbing it to get as much into the skin as possible," He explained, "And... I am probably going to be in a little bit of trouble for wandering off. I will just tell them I was out exploring the mountains, but I am always under watch," He said leaning down to blow on the remaining wet gel to help it dry.

She watched him blow on the Gel and began to do so too, to help him with drying it though she unintentionally drew her face near his and didn't notice until it was dry and she looked up, noticing less than a foot away. "Uh thanks..." She blinked as she stared at him with her eyes glancing to the side, though she didn't move her head, just reddening slightly again.
