Private Aris

"It's been a long time since they last had a festival. It'll be good for them, and us." Kahlil nodded. They'd find a time, and a reason. It'd been a long time since they last had the ability to celebrate. Or a home to celebrate in.

Aris, though, just tilted his head.

"What is a festival?"

"I agree," Valery said with a warm smile before she finished up another pancake. Vera had gotten awfully quiet now, as she devoured her pile of pancakes, but Aris seemed to be left with a question. Valery blinked, chuckled and briefly looked over at her husband. They were going to have to explain a lot of things, even though he had been taught the basics already.

But it wasn't so different from raising any other kid — they all needed to learn.

"You could see it as a big... party. Usually outside, with music, food stalls and games that people can play to have a fun time. Sometimes it's purely about music with people performing, and some festival have fun rides you can go on." She already saw a sparkle in Vera's eye when she explained it the best she could, but she wondered what he'd think of it as well.

"Daddy, I finished my pancakes. Can I show Aris my room? Maybe we can do a sleepover today?"

"You don't say a lot," Vera said bluntly while she stared at her brother. It didn't bother her at all that he was a little quiet, and it probably had something to do with him adjusting. She just wanted to make sure he felt like he could talk as much as he wanted, and always speak his mind!

Valery just chuckled a little, while she glanced at her husband.

<Like youuu~> she teased.

"Aris, do you wanna sleep in my room tonight? I can show you my plushies, Fuzzy and we can play! Oh and I wanna show you something too!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

<I talk more. When I want to.>

Which was, of course, the catch. He didn't really talk at all. He chuckled, shook his head. Valery was right, though, the kid was very much like him. He turned his attention to the kitchen sink though and got up to do some dishes. The kids were going to be fine.

"I don't see why not. What is a fuzzy?"

He tilted his head as he followed after her.

<That's true, and you're a lot less quiet than you used to be.>

Was she teasing him again? Absolutely, but now that they had a son who was very much like him, she finally could. For too long, the chaos that was Vera had given him ammunition to tease her, but no more. She waggled her eyebrows, and turned back to watch the kids make plans for their evening.

Vera was already making him feel at home.

"I'm so proud of them," Valery said as she got up and sat down in Kahlil's lap, while Vera took her brother's hand and pulled him away towards her bedroom. "We're doing a good job raising them, hm?"

...

"Fuzzy is a Racyon!" Vera meanwhile called out, right as she pulled him into the colorful bedroom full of plushies. Eddie the bear, the tauntaun, the nexu and even Aeryn's Vornskr was there at the moment. But in the middle of it all, lazy on its back as always, was Fuzzy. His paws were over his full stomach, and his mouth was wide open with his tongue sticking out.

"Isn't he cute?"

"I don't think he's this way purely because of genetics. They've had to put more of you into whatever he was taught in there," Valery mused with a chuckle. "But I was also referring to the kids as a whole." She waited for him to finish up dishes, and then there was just no escaping cuddling time.

Rather than one of the chairs at the table though, she pulled him over to the couch and plopped down into his lap. Nice and comfortable, the way she loved it.

"I do agree, we'll do great with them. This time... let's just hope we don't have to move again, hm?"

...
"He's not wild!" Vera exclaimed very passionately.

"Fuzzy is very nice and listens well." To prove it, she waved at Fuzzy and cleared her throat, "Come here, Fuzzy," she asked nicely, but Fuzzy just let out a lazy groan and stayed right where he was. Vera squinted, made a Hmmmmf noise, and reached out with the Force, not to control, but to connect.

"Say hi to my brother, please."

Fuzzy looked over, made another noise that sounded like an exasperated sigh, and rolled over before walking over. Then... he just stared at the young kiddo. For a few moments anyway, because without warning, the Racyon started climbing all over Aris to get on top of his shoulders.

Something Vera had asked him to do, as it was his usual greeting.

Kahlil_Div2.png

Kahlil just snuggled in and closed his eyes, nodding.

"We're not moving again, don't worry. Especially right now. This is pretty comfy, after all."

...

Aris did blink in surprise as Vera seemed to control the wild beast. He blinked again as it crawled over him, even. Other than the blinking though, he didn't seem to react at all. At least until he turned his head to actually look at the Raycon. Then, he just dipped his head in greetings.

"Apologies. I thought you were wild. It is good to meet you, Fuzzy."

"Ohh~" Valery chuckled playfully, "I like it when you get all snuggly," she said, her arms wrapping around him to keep him close and comfy with her. These were the little things she loved the most, and knowing they were hugging while the kids were having a blast? How could she ever feel better?

"I was thinking about starting some training with Aris, too. Or taking him on a mom/son day out. You had your adventure with Vera, so..." she grinned.

"Is that okay with you, daddy?" she teased.

...
"You are calm like daddy," Vera stated bluntly while she watched him just accept Fuzzy on his shoulder, even though he had no idea it was about to happen. Unless...

It had to be...

"Do you see visions too? Or did Fuzzy just not scare you?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"I think that's a great idea. It'll be good for him to be closer to you, and, well, it's true I do tend to take Vera on a lot of missions. Yeah, it'd be good for you. And him."

Kahlil shrugged as he hugged her close.

...

"He is your ally and listens to you. Why would I be afraid of him?"

He glanced towards Vera with a brow raised. "I do not see visions, not like you mean anyway. I don't feel any danger at least."

"I'm glad you think so, and we'll switch it up too. I'll take Vera with me on a trip soon, and give you a day with just him. We need our girls days, too," she winked and leaned in to steal quick kiss from him. "I also look forward to all four of us going on adventures. Wouldn't that be so much fun?"

Valery let out a sigh of joy, as she imagined it all inside her head already.

"I... don't think I've ever felt this happy before."

...
"He's not an ally, he's a friend!" And there was a big difference there, as far was Vera was concerned. Fuzzy wasn't someone she just worked with or told what to do. He was her buddy who snuggled with her when she was happy or scared, and he'd always have her back too.

Like a true friend.

"Hmm, I do see visions a lot. Some are happy, some are scary." She blinked and looked at him. "I can show you if you want to see?"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"You are awfully happy for me bringing a child home." He teased as he cuddled her, grinning down her way. It pleased him to no end that she was so accepting of what had happened, but it was a funny thought. From the outside point of view, it'd look more like Kahlil just brought home a bastard son. "But there's no hurry. Remember that. We don't need to rush."

...

Friend.

Aris tilted his head, but he didn't comment on it. Instead he just nodded his head. Visions. If she could show them, why not take a peak? He didn't entirely understand what they were anyway. He never saw a vision.

"Okay. Show me."

"Heyy, don't tease me like that," Valery said before she squealed softly at the cuddling, "It doesn't feel like you're bringing a random kid home, to me. Because of your connection to him, I feel one too and, well, yeah..." she smiled sheepishly, unsure as to how to really explain it otherwise.

"I just feel like I really am his mother. Which... I hope isn't weird?" She blinked and looked just a tad more timid now. He was right, though — they didn't need to rush.

...
"Mkay, but sit down," Vera said before she lowered herself and waited for him to join her. "Visions can be hard on the mind, so relax and keep your head open." He likely had no idea what it meant, so she leaned forward and gently started bringing her hand towards his head. The same way she had showed her parents some of her visions in the past.

"I'll show a happy one first."

With the touch of her hand, both of them were suddenly drawn into a vision of the past. A vision that started within Vera's bedroom, but not in this house. It was early in the morning, and Vera climbed out of her bed to rush through the door, and as it opened, mom and dad were right there.

Valery looked particularly emotional, as Kahlil held her hand and brushed his fingers over her wedding ring.

Vera then stepped out, drawing their attention to her, and smiled, "Am I getting a new sister?" she asked before running back inside giggling, whilst leaving her parents behind with widened eyes and perked brows.

It was the day she truly realized dad was home again.

"What do you think? You can see things but also feel them. Sometimes it's the past, but sometimes it's the future too!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"No, I don't think it's weird."

Kahlil snickered, reaching up to gently pet the top of Valery's head as they cuddled together.

"We are his parents."

...

Aris did as suggested, sitting down and waiting patiently for whatever it was that Vera wanted to show him. He didn't visibly react to the vision, rather, he had the same calm expression on his face even as he went through the whole scene. After a moment though he did finally speak up.

"Is that how you feel about me?"

The patting of her head made her smile much brighter, and she started to shift around a little to really fall into his arms. The holo-tv was playing some kind of show, but she wasn't paying attention all that much. It was just nice to sit here like this, knowing the kids were doing what they should be doing.

Being kids.

"When the kids are off to bed, I think you deserve a massage," Valery said playfully, albeit perhaps a little out of nowhere. "I felt it wasn't as easy to bring him out of that lab and, well, wasn't that one of your last labs too?"

...
"Mhm!" Vera exclaimed after he had seen the vision. "You're my brother, so I am happy you're here with us." She knew there was something different about him, given the fact that he hadn't been here until now, but that didn't matter to her. He was just as much mom and dad's kid as she was.

"I hope you will love us, too," Vera then added before she remembered one more thing. "Do you want to see a vision of the future with me too? I can try to show you."

Kahlil_Div2.png

".. Huh? Oh." Kahlil blinked in surprise as he looked at her, then he smiled, just a little. "Ah, yeah. It was the last one I'd made before I fled." The last ditch effort before he was shown that he didn't have to actually do anything. That he could just live his life, even if he was in danger of loosing it. That it was better to live a life at all than to dread loosing it and not have one at all.

"I won't say no to a massage, though."

...

"I hope so too."

Love was a weird though, but.. Perhaps he could one day. Once he figured out what love actually meant. He hummed for a second, glancing towards Fuzzy before tilting his head. A vision of the future?

".. Okay. Sure. Why not?"

The last one?

Valery reached for his hand and squeezed it. She knew better than anybody else what this meant to and for him, so she wanted to offer her quiet support. He knew exactly how she felt, what she thought of him and what he accomplished — her eyes and their bond said more than a thousand words ever could.

But when he accepted the massage, she began to smirk again.

"Oh I know you won't," Valery teased as she pressed herself up against him a little more, purely to tease further. "But you'll have to wait a bit," she added before giving him a quick peck. "Hmm, what do you think the kids are up to? They're awfully quiet."

...
"You will," Vera said without any hesitation. "Mommy and Daddy will make sure."

Vera then leaned forward, and decided to tap not into the future of her parents, but her own future, and Aris'. Her hand connected with his head, and the two suddenly stood together in a field of grass, face to face. They were both taller, stronger and both were calm as they drew their blades up.

Then, there was a very brief exchange of faint smiles.

Like a lightning bolt, Vera accelerated and clashed with her brother to test his defenses, but he met her strength and speed with his own, augmented by the Force. This was no duel between enemies, but one between siblings pushing each other to reach their full potential.

The vision wouldn't show it all, but after a brief flash, Vera was on her rear in the dirt, rubbing the side of her arm with a pout. Aris stood over, looking down at his sister, and offered her a hand up.

"Again?"

"Again."

...
Vera opened her eyes and blinked at her little brother, "You were so cool!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Whatever they're up to, I'm sure it's fun. We should leave them to it, really. .. It'd be good for him to experience this." This, family. It'd be more than good, it's what he needed more than anything. He smiled softly, leaning over to kiss Valery's forehead. At another time, this wouldn't have worked. He wouldn't have trusted himself, he wouldn't have trusted anything. It was because of her and the family they made that they could live this life together.

"Thank you."

...

".. Wo."

Aris blinked in surprise, glancing around the room first before focusing on Vera. That was a vision of the future, huh? He didn't expect to see himself in that at all. He had more.. Control? He could fight?

He couldn't imagine fighting.

"That's.. Very interesting. Why were we fighting?"

"I agree, and I definitely wasn't planning to interrupt," Valery said before she could tell that he had something on his mind, and it led up to a kiss on her forehead. Her lips curled up immediately, and her head gently came to rest against his chest now, tucked neatly underneath his chin. Much like him, this is what mattered the most — family.

"We're doing it together," Valery then said when he thanked her, and gently, she nudged his side. Ticklish or not, she loved to tease him just a tiny bit like this. "I... really don't know what I'd do without you anymore, and the kids are just such a blessing. You all make me feel like I finally have a good reason to live."

...

"Cool, huh?"

Vera giggled and watched him closely. She had guided him through the vision to make it less overwhelming, but seeing something that hadn't happened yet always made people feel a little weird the first time. Even Aris was surprised, perhaps confused, and looking around a bit.

Vera just looked at him patiently and smiled.

"We were training together, to make each other better! Mommy and Daddy do it a lot, and I've been training at the Temple too." She blinked, realizing something.

"Will you also train at the Temple with me?"
