Balancing the books... or cooking them?

"Tihaar? I'd be using it for marinating if, for some reason, I needed to cook sterile food. With fresh ingredients, you cannot guarantee their hygiene. As for mead, I'd be using it for recipes that call for honey. For the time being, anyway, I'll be drinking the tablespoon of tihaar"

Sometimes hygiene had priority over taste or even form in a survival situation, but since Mandos used it to degrease or disinfect (probably more for degreasing than disinfecting but tihaar definitely was used for disinfection), it wasn't much of a stretch to be using tihaar as some sort of ingredient for marinating, but it was by no means the only one. [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] watched carefully for intoxication signs as Varindar sipped the tihaar, expecting rapid intoxication or some such thing, although she expected only buccal inflammation; she only drank one glass of mead before that. And then... ouch. Her tongue was hurting but she wasn't drunk by any stretch: perhaps that's something she thought a round of some non-alcoholic beverage could fix. She thus didn't hesitate one second as to which drink she would like to drink: lime soda, which was a cocktail ingredient for the Mirialan Martini, a green cocktail that she saw being prepared for, and consumed, by the other Mirialan customer in attendance. Varindar would probably want a glass of the green ingredient for herself at this point...

"Can I have a lime soda please?"

"Ah I see, to kill an bacteria or harmful pathogens, yes while in the military the last thing you want to do is become sick", something Yuvie always put first. Even if something tasted like crap if it was edible, safe and gave you the right amount of energy then it was good. Though that did not mean he was not one to like a nicely cooked meal that tasted lovely, but the Galactic Empire did instill a appreciation of simple energy food like ration and practicality for them, despite the taste of a few. His eyes kept a look on to [member="Varindar Asyt"] while she drunk, smirking a bit by the reaction when her tongue got singed a little, use almost pure alcohol would do that to skin, probably why it was used in mouth wash all the time, hurt a little but was good in the end. "Lime soda hu, is that another hint"? he joked a little, himself sipping the rest of his own mead, "though if you have a stung tongue milk or just some water would work better, unless you are looking for a green taste". Turning back around it seemed that the platter of chips had been finished, though himself still a little peckish, "does that bar by any chance sell garlic or herb bread"? He asked the hotel manager and little green man at the same time, not really worried about which one would respond. "If so would it be possible to get it take away"?

"Sell milk, garlic or herb bread, the bar does not" the barman responded to them, after [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] asked his queries.

Milk or water might have worked better for liposoluble or hydrosoluble items respectively. True, lime soda was still at least partially carbonated water, just that she could feel the disappointment of not selling milk or some other quick remedies that don't necessarily involve alcohol or other cocktail ingredients. Yet, Varindar would be made to feel that, if milk suddenly became part of the list of ingredients to carry, then there had to be a cocktail recipe or two with milk in it. Even though Varindar is by no means a girl that often goes to bars, she is still one that knows that the tab comes due at some point; stuff billed to other parties are typically the bulk of accounts receivable in a hospitality context. So, knowing that the account will be, in fact, paid about 2-3 days after the Jedi checked out, Varindar would most likely be able to recover the amount. But since Iturizu already experienced the hotel's pool with her, the hotelier knows by now that she should avoid the peak hours of the pool, lest she get leered at. Especially not with the influx of new guests.

"The tab please; bill it to Iturizu's hotel reservation" "Do you want to return to your room?"

"That is unfortunate, though not unrealistic", such would be more something for the restaurant only, and he could always just make a home made loaf as long as the ingredients where available. The only problem was getting the right balance, such leading to a few salty or bland tasting in the past, but once more practice makes perfect. Though the milk bit seemed a little strange, was such a simple drink really not served at bars? Seemed like a very standard drink that any establishment would give out, but once again there was the restaurant for that. Fishing off his drink Yuvie turned to [member="Varindar Asyt"] as the bill came, "I suspect that will come with the final cost for the stay right? oh and yes I would be heading back to my room now, the meal was quite nice". "Do you have the night off Varidnar? or do you have work to attend to later on"? There was still a little catching up to do and talk about where he could go after the reservation was up.

"I believe I can go sleep in your room for tonight, with your permission: I'll be talking to those 20 other Jedi tomorrow, at or after breakfast. In fact I have a breakfast table with, I believe, 11 of those Jedi, with the other nine preferring room service from what I can tell"

None of those 21 Force-using refugees would even know where to go. Sure, all 21 had in common the same Sith-related unfinished business, that is, fighting Sith to protect innocent worlds against them, just that [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] would go first, as she followed him one floor below back to the Rapture Heaven. The question being: what options are there, and also how will the SJ accommodate those orphaned Jedi. Although generally the SJ have been welcoming of most of them, to the extent they haven't betrayed the Alliance, the same couldn't necessarily be said of Iturizu because he served a now-defunct dark-side faction, whose remnants have retreated to FO space. Now that they have returned to the room, Varindar realized she completely forgot about the main caveat about permission to sleep or not. Yes, she knew that hoteliers sometimes slept in their own properties when in a low season for quality assurance, sometimes at a pay cut for the estimated variable costs of one night, just that the opportunity pretty much never materialized itself, except for one occasion when she just started running it. To make sure that the hotel was, in fact, actually operating like a five-star property.

"But if I don't have permission, then I'll simply discuss your options after this reservation is up before I call it a day"

"I have no problem with sharing a room with you Varindar, I welcome the company with you, would also be beneficial to have a good nights sleep for tomorrow, best sleep in one of the fancy beds that you let out to other people". Though once again he could not help but feel there was a little more meaning to this night, or was he just over thinking it? Women was still a subject he had not much experience with, and in a room that was heavily romantic themed such was going to feel a little strange. Reaching the room he opened the fancy door, letting [member="Varindar Asyt"] in first, herself asking again about staying the night, Yuive giving a small dismissive wave to the brunette hotel owner. "It is no problem, I enjoy spending time with you, the room is yours as much as it is mine today, though what will the sleeping arrangements be"? Such the first time Yuvie had stayed in the hotel over a night. "We can also talk about reservation while we are here, so spending the night is a help in that since well be talking for a bit anyways.

"The king bed is wide enough for the two of us to sleep without fear of us touching each other. I'll sleep on the left-hand side"

Many among the orphaned Jedi that stayed at properties on Trandosha were there because they were awaiting further steps in the process that will let them enter Silver service, with the bulk of them spread among three properties on the planet as far as she could tell: the Gaslamp, and her very own Crown Nebula in Forak, and the three-star Obsidian Comfort in Hsskhor. She could feel [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] was nervous around women, Mirialan or not. Varindar, however, would not go to sleep until she cleared up his options for the future. To the extent she willingly acknowledged that the Order could take on dark-siders undergoing reformation, dark-sider reformation was a hit-or-miss thing, and one dark-sider in the reformation process, Arax Dorn, was stagnating and maybe even written off by now. Just that orphaned Force-users were a delicate topic to broach for any faction in these troubled times. Here she knew that the reputation Jedi and/or Sith may have for bounty hunting on some planets sometimes was built on the back of orphaned Force-users.

"Let's see: I suppose the Silvers is the first option to come to mind, although other options would involve other factions, such as the ORC, or even living as an unaligned bounty hunter or mercenary"

"Sleeping together, my that is quite a new thing, though once again I do not have a problem with that, though I believe that is the reason why the bed is so large, for two people to sleep together". Again the romantic themed room and all, would make sense that the bed would also cater to those needs in the furniture and other facilities present. Actually the bath tub seemed to reflect that as well, being quite big, easily fitting two people, easily a room for two young love birds looking to get away on another planet... who designed this place anyways? was it [member="Varindar Asyt"], if so that was surprising. "Guess I will be sleeping on the right then, I assume that you have brought sleeping gown or pajamas of some sort"? Would be logical, unless she had not expected Yuvie to ask her to spend the night, which in his mind was the most time he had ever spent with someone of the opposite sex.

Sitting down on the bed hi listened as to Varindar's options on where to go next in his very winding journey of factions and jobs. "The silvers area a decent look, but I have a feeling my past may be a little bit of a problem, but for the most part I think they are a decent option". "As for the OCR, I have a contact their, an alchemist, but beyond that nothing much else, also dangerous going over that side of the galaxy now days". "As for bounty hunting, not really my thing, maybe espionage but a hire gun, nah uh, kind of goes against my training and ideals".

"Don't worry: I have a rather light pajama because of the planet's heat. Plus this bed is large enough for two Wookiee guests even though Wookiees wouldn't call a bed that size a king bed. As for the room design, I designed some rooms from the third floor upward, although I had no say in designing the first two floors' rooms"

Typically Wookiee bed and bedding shops sold beds and their matching bedding with widths having the names of the next size up for human/Near-Human beds, that is, a Wookiee's queen bed would be as wide as a human's king bed, or a Wookiee twin bed would have the width of a human's double bed, but the problem with buying Wookiee beds was bedding sheets: while pillows can be swapped from a human bed to a Wookiee one with no consequences, the same could not be said of sheets. As for the design of the rooms: that was, in fact, one of the more pleasant parts of her job as a hotelier. Sure, the lowermost two floors were largely unchanged from the Ta'jar days, except with actual cleanliness, just that [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] mentioned an alchemist in ORC-land: Varindar assumed that he was referring to Janick. The queen of mental data transfer. Seemed nice enough as a person from what was publicly known about her, and also use the dark side for more benevolent purposes. And yet, memories of espionage as it relates to Jakku and Chalacta are surfacing in her mind.

"I acknowledge that, while bounty hunting and espionage shared some similarity, you're right that bounty hunting is more rough-and-tumble than espionage is, maybe freelance slicing-based espionage could be an option"

"I would suspect that you do always seem to be prepared for anything, though would the night be rather warm? if that is the case I may need to forgo my shirt in order to keep cool, the size of the bed should not cause and trouble in that area". Though was the whole Wookie thing really that big of a deal? did not the two races still have large differences? He'd not really suspect any of their race would come to this planet, the humidity and heat would probably be just another problem for the fur covered beings to deal with. Either way it was better to have such a large bed and not use it for all needs then have a small bed and just end up with complaints and in this circumstance it worked out rather useful for both parties.

Taking a reclined position he thought about the suggestion, "maybe like an agent for hire? that could work well, that was kind of how I operated while with the Galactic Alliance". "Ture it was in a more official capacity and also with the resistance but the process was similar to a bounty hunter, probably to make sure they could not be help responsible if I screwed anything up". "Such a job could mean working for the Silver Jedi, no doubt the Sith Empire have a lot of secrets that they would want uncovered, and if it helps free Mirial in the long run, all good with me". "I could perhaps stay here more then as a result, thus spend more time with you if such a proposal is alright". [member="Varindar Asyt"] was the first person he felt connected to, much closer then any person in his life, which unfortunately was not a lot of people, each passing minute also made him feel more comfortable with women, another problem he would have to get around.

[member="Iturizu Yuvie"] would suspect by now that a slicing-based spy for hire was perhaps offering the best of all the options on the table. Also, since the jacuzzi tub was somehow large enough for two people to sit in there with water at any temperature, they had to tread lightly in there, and at least have some decency while inside the tub; thank the Force there was some mechanism informally called fade-to-black, often referred to as such by bath tub vendors, installed on the tubs across the hotel, and the equivalent of that on the beds themselves were drapes around the beds' dais. Sure I could have had the same fade-to-black in the beds, but it would disturb the sleep of the guests: force fields, as those used on the jacuzzi tubs' fade-to-black devices, are typically noisier than the background noise at night, she thought. When fade-to-black is in use in a jacuzzi tub, an opaque, black force field is activated at the outer edge of the tub, with the fade-to-black controls being on top of the temperature controls of the tub. Just that she found appropriate to talk about the fade-to-black feature of the tub.

"Do you want a trip at the hot tub before we sleep? Again, it's only if you want: espionage-for-hire will sometimes make you deal with opposite genders and even other factions may attempt to turn you based on romance. Don't forget about fade-to-black, however; even though it would be more relevant in those rooms capable of holding more than 2 guests, it still allows some intimacy when other guests are inside the room"

Yuvie perked his head up at the mention of the jacuzzi again, honestly wanting to use the faculty once more, not only would it provide a relaxing time before bed it would help wash away and unwanted alcoholic small that lingered on his body. His first use of the bath being short and just a chance to soak off before meeting at the bar with [member="Varindar Asyt"], though now he had time to sit back and relax with the woman with no real time restrictions on their hand, besides sleepiness. "That is an offer that I would like to take, thank you for the offer and yes if I do seek such a career in the future being comfortable with someone of the opposite sex will be a must". Sith where not always known for their modesty after all, "not to say that I won't find spending more time with you enjoyable".

Grasping his nightwear the Mirialan started to wander over to the bathroom, continuing to converse with Varindar along the way, mainly about the so called fade to black mechanic. "I did not really look into that system, what does it exactly do anyways? is it like a holographic screen projector to keep certain areas of the room private"? It seemed like a simple enough device but he felt there was a little more to it then just a screen for privacy, though never the less an inventive idea, espeically for room where multiple people where staying, though today it seemed to just be the two of them.

"Fade-to-black is an opaque, black force field projected from the outer edge of the tub"

For decency, Varindar ensured that she was simply wearing her training bikini before she was jumping into the bath tub before the water was being turned on, and she couldn't be completely naked while with [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] in the jacuzzi, fade-to-black or not. The Dathomirian hotelier was much more comfortable around males than Iturizu was around females, thanks to her job as a hotelier. Plus the fade-to-black activation button was a black button over the tub's faucet. Believe it or not, she never used the hotel's bathtubs before, even though she did, in fact, sleep in one of those Wookiee-sized beds when she was last in a room in her own property. She might have used the TVs, she might have used the mood lighting, she might have eaten popcorn in the room, though. Now that she was ready to get ready to go to the tub, she was just waiting for him to activate the fade-to-black button before the water could be flowing into it and soak both of them into bubbly hygiene, and that they could use bath salts and soaps together, while they are inside the luxury jet bathtub.

"Ah a force field, so not a holograph, makes sense since it would also block out physical objects as well as just the sight from would be onlookers", he remarked, stripping down upon entering the bathroom.m though keeping his more lowers areas a little shielded. 'That' area being slightly larger then average due to a small botch up in the whole alchemy process. He tried hard not to get a flustered from Varidnar in her swimming Bikini, not a problem while out swimming anymore but this close proximity did cause the Mirialans heart to race. Upon the water reaching the right high ant temperature the green skinned Sith slowly submerged himself, letting the warm liquid cover his lower body, leaning against the back rest of the large bathing tub. "I feel like I could just sleep in here, but I know such will give me a headache sooner or later", he replied to [member="Varindar Asyt"] as she too joined him into the bath, his finger pressing the large black button to activate the force field. Around then the black artificial wall coming to life, separating them from the outside world for a brief moment, "I assume this hot tubs comes with soap and other products to help one clean along with the water jets"?

"Sure, the soap and bath salts are on opposite sides of the bath tub but in the center; it's so that we can have the baths taken simultaneously. There are two bars of soap"

Two bars of soap in every such tub in the hotel, and it wasn't just this room; she knew the kind of guests using fade-to-black would also be the kind of guests that would want to simultaneously use soap while fade-in-black is in use. That, even though she knew fade-to-black was used for other, more sinister means that she only had a vague idea of. Something, something flesh-intensive, she thought, while psychometry was in use on this bathtub. Sure, it may be construed as a breach of past guests' privacy, but she had no reason whatsoever to disclose it to anyone unless one of the guests was, in fact, a crime suspect, and even then, only to the extent it would be relevant to a criminal investigation. And, of course she would feel that [member="Iturizu Yuvie"]'s heart was racing. And, with it, that he wasn't used with being this close with other ladies; however, if there was one thing she knew about the type of ladies factions could be using for turning agents, it would likely be other ladies at Varindar's level of beauty and/or charisma or equivalent. She took one bar of soap to rub her body with, knowing that the water jets would wash it away afterward.

"Oh fancy... agh, keep forgetting, 5 star hotel, but those sound nice, I never really had the chance for this kind of skin care in the past, it smells rather nice", he replied back to [member="Varindar Asyt"], learning forward and picking up one of the soap blocks. It design though simple still carried an elegance to it, a logo of some sort pressed into the middle, the scent of it's chemical composition already wafting into his nose. He breifly wondered if certain soaps could be infused with alchemaic powers to give them some sort of extra effect when being used, though perhaps the whole use of blood in alchemy may cause some sort of health and legal issues. Still for personal use it could be a possibility, if done right and with a decent enough enhancement. Rubbing his hands together Yuvie started to rub his body over with the soapy substance, keeping up conversation with the hotel owner as the water jets massaged his back and sides. "I am guessing this is a first for you? taking a bath with a man"?She seemed calm and composed like always, but the Mirialan doubted she had done anything like this before.

"It's a first for me too. However, why I seem to be so calm to be here with you must be something about the soap and/or the water jet"

The whole aim of jacuzzi tubs, fade-to-black or not, was to allow relaxation to take place: combined with the soap's perfume, that was the reason as to why Varindar seemed to be so calm. As much as other factions may attempt to flip him in an espionage mission, they may attempt to flip me, as I may be attempting to flip others in a sting operation, she thought, while reflecting on what she perceived as the realities of cloak-and-dagger-intensive Jedi and other individuals, such as a possible life for [member="Iturizu Yuvie"]. But it was soon time to go to sleep, once the soap has been fully washed away from her body while in the hot tub; she would need to brush her teeth before going to sleep, too. Just that the fade-to-black is over once the soap suds were fully washed away from her body, and that she then used a towel to wipe her body before putting her pajamas back on. And then and only then would she be able to brush her teeth; it was going to be a nightmare for her breath tomorrow morning if she didn't do so prior to getting to the left-hand side of that huge bed.

"Good night"

"Well you are right, I can feel myself relaxing quite heavily, I could probably get use tho such close proximity with a girl quite quickly if we were to do this on occasion, not putting an pressure on you though". Yuvie could not always rely on Varindar to help out with girl things, though the occasional get together, time out and other occasion would be fun, after all the hotel manager was very relatable and nice on the eyes, even if it did cause him to fluster. Still such was tame compared to what the spy world was like, he could expect that when out on a mission that potential women spy's would be much more forward then Varidnar, but it was a step in the right direction. Soon the Mirialan had washed his body clean, the soap suds washing away down the drain as the Fade to Black screen came down, Yuvie wrapping a towel around his waist upon getting out of the water. Walking to the sink Yuvie would quickly dry his long purple hair off along with brushing and mouthwash, the inside was just as important to clean as the outside. Walking back to the room he quickly slipped on his sleeping clothes, laying on the opposite side of the bed from Varindar, "night to you too, hope you sleep well". Reaching over to a side switch the lights of the room would slowly dim to black, allowing for a good nights rest for both of them.

Plush, Wookiee-sized beds, she knew she could use the hotel as a venue to carry out the espionage part of her Jedi duties. Just that a good night's sleep was more than simply possible: it was the essence of domotics, since she knew beds were not the end of the story when considering what made a good night's sleep possible. Sure [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] would suspect that sleeping with another spy would sometimes result in more aggressive romance and in these occasions he would probably wish for Varindar. Just that she was grateful for the soundproofing before 3 AM; the bar above them was getting noisy for those who still were in the bar until closure. And the bar did not open for breakfast service, but the restaurant, on the other hand, was open for breakfast service. What mattered to her was not who got room service as opposed to eating at the dining room; it was how many got breakfast from which source. She knew all too well that some guests, for one reason or another, would rather have room service even though, in general, it was slower than getting it from the dining room. In that case, used-up cloches would have to be placed next to the room's door. Before breakfast time came, she asked Iturizu about her breakfast options:

"You want to get breakfast in the restaurant or you want room service? If you are getting breakfast, perhaps we should get seated at the same table as those other Jedi that rented out rooms here, although not all of them would, in fact: some of them will be getting room service"
