Beware the Crystals of Blood

Kha'ro says, "You two, just stop the fight, also, stop trying to intimidate me lady," to [member="Grace Darkson"] and [member="Sawa Ike"], he sighs, "The robot and that person have the right idea."

Sawa just looked tilting her head slightly and didn't care. The hand near the wall shifting the earth of the mine to come out and let her lean on it while she brought her hand up to her chin tapping it. The droid was right mostly... it was useless and unneeded to fight but she was sure if there was one an earth shaper able to make a staircase to the surface and a droid could survive a cave in. She looked at the creature and the sith with a small flick while wondering if they were still going to try and fight while she was ignoring the padawan near her until he spoke. "Who are you?" She said it without turning towards him and was letting her senses dig into the earth while she searched for what she wanted.

She followed [member="Ultimatum"] but kept her eyes focused behind her. "At least one of them seems reasonable." She said mentioning [member="Sawa Ike"] but she still kept going with the droid. At least the droid would actually tell her if it was about to betray her, she liked droids because of that, they were honest... well mostly at least.

Sawa looked at [member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"] leave more interested because next to her some something that kept talking... and not something fun like a puppy. She brought her eyes to try a lock and not really talk more pull using her species traits over force. She wanted the woman to stop and come back or at least be interested enough to find her later... Assuming that was a woman she could be a male of the species and have an ovipositor in that tail for all the energy vampire knew as she finally spoke to [member="Kha'ro"]. "I think they make shots for that now or a cream."

"Yes, but not enough to warrant staying and talking." In Ultimatum's mind, whether correct or not, the fact that he had walked away was an indication that the others had proven too hostile or uncooperative to be worth the time spent to try and negotiate. Time was of the essence at the moment, so wasted time had the possibility of dooming this entire mission. This could have been a melodramatic thought process, however Ultimatum could not know. It is difficult to tell if one's thoughts are overly dramatic or emotionally caused when you are the one thinking it.

What Ultimatum did know was that they were nearing the end of the cave, at least if the information on the survey details were correct. Further, if his internal clock hadn't been disturbed then local time was nearing morning. Approximately three hours and the sun would begin to rise over the horizon. In that time, Ultimatum decided he would have to firstly get hold of the crystals, secondly make certain of that escape route, and finally escape the people above. It was going to get very busy, night was about the best time to escape notice, but if that didn't work then day would have to suffice.

Ultimatum decided to try and talk a little, learn something about his current compatriot. "So what species are you? I don't think I've ever seen one of your people before."

Zreame looked towards [member="Sawa Ike"] and felt an attraction but could rightly put her finger on it and then shook her head finding the entire thing a little weird given how unsettled she felt around the woman. When [member="Ultimatum"] spoke to her, she snapped out of it and looked towards him. "huh? Oh yes I'm a Cernun." She said with a teasing smile as she knew there was information about her species on the holo-net, heck there was information on any and all species that had been discovered on the net. Her tail moved around in a slow serpentine like manner while she walked with him. "I have a speeder bike that I've modified it so that it goes faster and can be auto piloted towards me via my comlink. It could help us get out of here." she then said as she remembered that there was a veritable army coming down on them from above.

Ultimatum nodded at the response, he would have to look that up at some point, however he couldn't now. His processors were too busy keeping track of all the variables that were quickly stacking up. Timing was always an issue, however adding in the fact that there was a speeder that could be used as an escape route was helpful. That did change a few factors, in a positive way mostly. So long as the speeder wasn't noticed by any of the people above ground then it was likely quite the asset. If however it was spotted and followed then there would be a great possibility of them being caught. That wasn't much of a concern though, he trusted that they would escape and if they were caught it would not be a speeder that got them there.

He noted that his sensors were being slightly distorted. This got Ultimatum excited, he assumed that due to the nature of most natural crystals and the type of sensors he had that the crystal formations would cause problems with his sensors. Thus, he deduced then that the crystals were very close, probably within a few meters of their current position. A few more seconds and his sensors began to act up, everything in the forward direction was now distorted and he couldn't trust any of the information. To him this basically meant that the crystals were right in front of him. Turning on his visual receptors he found that the red glow coming from his body was reflecting on crystal surfaces. He turned to [member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"] and said with a smile, "Well here they are. How many do you think you can carry safely?"

Zreame followed [member="Ultimatum"] deeper into the mine shaft and then looked at him when he spoke to her, smiling back. "Well I think I can hold around four or perhaps six." She said with a smirk as she took out her pouch and dumped a few tools to the ground, nothing major just a few spanners and screw drivers. "There this should hold around six crystals." She then said as she held the pouch open in front of [member="Ultimatum"] as if to emphasize her point. "If you don't mind I would rather not touch the crystals, I've heard some horror stories about what happens when you touch them without protective gear."

"Most of them are true." Ultimatum responded at first, having read the majority of horror stories found on the HoloNet in regards to the crystals. It seemed odd to him that organics had such an attraction to the concept of something scary. They claimed they were scared and that meant that they didn't want to continue, yet they didn't want to leave. It was one of the many incomprehensible inconsistencies of organics. There were so many that Ultimatum wondered if there was ever a chance of fully understanding them.

He looked at the pouch she held out and nodded, "That should be fine, I can carry any others that you may want." Ultimatum, being made of metal instead of flesh did not have a fear of the infamous crystals. He had compartments within his body that had never been filled, an inefficiency that his organic creators seemed to wallow in. He could probably fit a dozen in the compartments and hold at least another six or seven in his hands. That would make traversing a ladder or other such tools that required hands more than a little difficult, but he would figure that out when it came. Jump that hurdle when it popped up the organics saying was.

Ultimatum turned his attention to carefully cutting away the crystals, trying to avoid damaging the parts he left behind. There was no point in destroying what others could use, there was no point in being selfish. "Would you like me to cut the crystals?"

Zreame thought for a few moments. "No I think I'll forge them into something, so why cut away material that can be used later." She said as she leaned against one of the walls and watched [member="Ultimatum"] work. For a droid he sure was impressive but that was probably the intent for his creation after all. Zream couldn't help but want to take a look at [member="Ultimatum"]'s designs, a part of her even wanted to try and make a companion for him though that would be a challenge in and of itself and at the moment she wasn't in the mood to challenge herself further than what was ahead of them.

Sawa saw the ones disappearing as she ignored the padawan moving and going into the wall. The earth shaping around her to make a hold she could walk through and search out crystals. The mines above were filled with the tunnel leading up into it while she was searching and letting the energy go into the rocks while she debated stalking the robot and his companion. She could have some fun with one of them.. the other well was metal and not important. It couldn't provide food to her so she didn't bother and the sith who had been attacking could go and play with the padawan. He was not very important and the one with the tail was really the only one who interested her.

Grace glared at [member="Kha'ro"]. He dared draw that up? He dared try and use that against her? for a moment the rage welled up inside her, filling her up... and it disappeared. Gone. The Sith just felt empty. She felt her knees shake as she continued to stand there. "Yes. I think so," she said, the passion gone from her voice. Flicking the old, crude lightsaber off and pinning it to her belt, her hand slowly reached out, feeling the discarded casing from her original lightsaber rolling towards her. Picking it up, she fumbled around in her pack for something. She needed to find the shot....

There. Her hand wrapped around the needle for a moment before pulling it out. Her mind was growing hazy. Standing, she studied the area. Two exits, one taken up by [member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"] and [member="Ultimatum"], and the other an elevator locked down by the alarms. Bloody murderous.... ah, well. Time to try a plan B.

Placing the tip of the needle on her thigh, she sat down, reaching out in the Force, past those around her, past those around her, to the workers above her. Someone was leaning next to the override. she didn't have the time to be subtle right now. Pressing the adrenaline shot into her, she forced her way into his motor controls, and shut down the lockdown. Override switches were fun. But there was the problem of a reversal. Nothing she could do about that, though.

Standing up, she moved to the elevator, watching it open in front of her. "Floor one." She said with a smile.

Ultimatum smiled, there was much in common between the two of them. As far as he knew anyways. While most of his functional processors were being used to keep his measurements when breaking the crystals precise, the rest was split between holding the plans in his memory, preparing to update them on the fly, and keeping track of his sensor readings. It was important that he not become to involved in his work that he missed someone or thing coming up on them. Situational awareness was a key factor differentiating those who died under pressure and those that survived. Ultimatum had the luxury of being able to survive even if he was not fully aware, however he did not allow that to give him leeway to slack off.

He held out seven decent sized crystals and dropped them carefully into that bag that [member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"] had held out. He then focused on filling up his small compartments, opening one at a time and then closing them when they were full. His mind was able to wander as he accomplished this almost mind numbing task. Once he had the measurements of space size he could easily calculate how to break certain crystals to make the most of it. He was almost finished, this being a quick procedure, when he decided to ask, "Aside from being a mechanic you do anything else in your spare time?"

Zreame thought for a moment as she put the pouch back onto her belt, she then looked around for any one to be within ear shot and then leaned in and whispered into [member="Ultimatum"]'s ear, or what passed as an ear. "I'm actually the chief engineering officer for Armatech industries." She said as she then backed away a little and had a large smile on her lips. She had mostly come to the planet to kill time and to transision from what she used to be to what she was now and well, she did miss having to go from one planet to the next to get by, unlike how she was now.

Her walk through the earth of the mines had her attentions divided, the apprentice leaving and the padawan were no longer important as she opened up a section of the mine and was looking at some of the people there. Ones running when the time came and their gloved hands that were shiny. She walked slowly grabbing a small pouch from her pocket as she gathered them and with her mind free she focused. Both on the force and because she wanted more prey while calling to the woman with the tail. She just didn't know where she was while starting to walk through the tunnels once again towards where she could come out and enjoy herself within the sisterhood.

Ultimatum let that sentence rattle around his head a little. Armatech Industries, he hardly had to dig into the HoloNet to find them. It was a large company, compared to its intended beginnings, that had grown rapidly and had almost become a minor galactic player in and of itself. It had interested Ultimatum early on and had made him contemplate the possibility of getting a contract with them. In the end of a week's debate with himself he had decided against it. So far his positive experience with organics had been limited to an incredibly isolated incidents, the most recent and so far best was the current situation. He hadn't really grown to trust organics, not after the first one his original master tried to make Ultimatum a galactic exterminator droid.

He looked forward to a time when he could trust the organics, trust them enough to speak freely. But, that time was not now and while he could trust certain individuals, the vast majority were more of a disturbance and obstacle. The organic following them was a quick example of a problematic situation caused by organics. His sensors were not the most sophisticated however they were strong enough to see through the majority of the stone and earth in the area. The Sith, he assumed it was a Sith, was probably looking for something, either him or his ally [member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"], either way it could not be for good intentions. Sith rarely did if the history information was anything to go by.

He finished breaking off the last crystals, saying, "That is quite interesting, what are you doing out here then?" The question did have interest in the answer to him. He found it strange that she would be doing repairs for a mining facility when she was probably paid quite well for her services as the chief engineer. While he waited for her answer he looked around and made a gesture to ask if they should go.

Zreame nodded to the gesture and intended to follow him, mostly since he seemed to know were any exits would be. "Well you could say I was bored, but mostly it's because I had a contract with these guys before I got my current job so I decided just because I'm working for armatech doesn't make me above taking the jobs I've already promised to do." She said then as she always kept her word to those she gave it to. [member="Ultimatum"] would be no exception, besides she liked him enough and he was allowing her to look at his insides, which to her was a great show of trust at least from her perspective.

Her tail dragged behind her as the fatigue came back with a vengeance as she walked after him. "Yawwwwwnn so how do we get out of here?" She then said in a groggy manner, her body fighting to get some sleep but she wouldn't let it, after all this was not the time to take a nap at all. She was half awake at this point and it showed on her face, with her half closed eyes, and her posture as she slumped a bit forwards.
