“You owe me pretty boy.”

Of course it would be [member="Asmus Janes"] that she was saving. Allyson rolled her eyes as she helped the man onto her bike. The machine could handle two people, but their top speed wouldn’t be the same as if it was just her. Either way, the fast they got to his bike the sooner they could leave. Where there was one Bando Gora there were probably like 30 more following. Like the rogues, they never functioned alone. This one, the one that she had killed was probably trying to show off by taking out Asmus. Idiot, a knife was just wasted effort. As they both got onto her bike she looked over her shoulder and caught a glimpse of the Bando Gora that was choking on his own blood. Good riddance.

“I’m 13, Lucky.” It was all she said, if he couldn’t figure out who she was from that then it was his loss until she came to collect the favor. Musing about it, she probably owed him in general – especially after she dragged him along to take down an Imperial ship. Still, she wouldn’t remind him of that and just keep the debt to be collected. The bike moved forward quickly, but not quick enough. One of her hands moved from the bike’s controls and placed itself over the part that was just under her. Attempting to use the Force to speed the bike up proved to be pointless. “Kark, seriously?! The one time I need you…”

Giving up, she found in the distance Asmus’ bike. Slowing to a stop she helped him off. She pulled down her scarf over her face and frowned. “Is it still working? Or do we need to do a quick repair, I have spare parts on mine.”

Objective 3:
Location: In Orbit above Malastare

The space around Malastare was eerily quiet as Jareb exited hyperspace. It was odd to see a system so close to the Alliance capital so empty. There was no comm chatter on the open frequencies or freighters coming to and from the planet. Jareb supposed it was the poster child for the many systems across the galaxy that had long been stripped of their resources. He was about to jump out of system (this was just a short recalculation on his way to Dulvoyinn) when a small blip pinged on his radar. In the event that his system wasn't fluttering, the signal meant that someone with a long range military grade transmitter was out there. That wouldn't have been completely unbelievable, but the comm frequency highlighted on his screen was used by the Rogues. It couldn't be a systems malfunction. The dot appeared once again. Jareb had been expecting to meet his new flight group at the staging area that Fleetcom was planning to build on Dulvoyinn.

Jareb continued to stare at the screen and watch the radar flash from the planet. It didn't make sense at all. What was a Rogue doing down there?

"Bee Dee," He suddenly spoke to his astromech, BD-3. "Open up a channel and broadcast on all comm lines used by Rogue Squadron." The little droid whistled in confirmation through his ship speakers.

"This is Rogue Sixteen of Rogue Squadron orbiting above Malastare. Does anyone read?" He wondered if his radio could cut through the electrical storms around the planet. Hopefully someone would be able to hear his broadcast.

Rolling onto his feet, Micah gave a brief cough as a dust cloud swept over him. Grit got into his eyes. Everything felt weird. Off. The fact that Vexen hadn't said anything or that Micah seemed to not sense her would send a spike of worry through his spine. Groggy, with the sun beating down on him, one need bent up, then he pushed off.

He squinted, then gave a heavy half turn. There was nothing but arid like desert. Barely any flora, lots of rocks. And sand, as he wiped the grit off his face. He was already beginning to sweat.

Where the heck am I? Off in the distance, his ears perked. Was that the sound of an engine? Swiveling his head, he turned hetrochromic eyes towards the direction. He tried to stretch out his senses, but found that he couldn't.

Just what was this madness? Was he sick? The confusion only grew, the Talith reaching down to grab his helm. Who were they?

The V8 roaring in ecstasy as it was flooded with precious fuel was more music to Harb’s ears than any noise the Beat Boys could spread across the plains. He turned to Jick, a wicked smile spread across his face.

“Gonna get him.”

“Aww yeah, splat across bars!”

“Don’t hit ‘em too hard. Don’t wanna crunch the frame,” Harb added.

“Nah, I’ll slow up when we’re close, but gotta get ahead of the pack and claim ‘em!”

“Yeah,” Harb agreed as he pulled a six shooter from his door. “Looks like they got some gear.”

Their vehicle raced ahead of the convoy, a cloud of dust in their wake. Harb turned and jangled the chains on his dugs. “Gonna get some meat pets, but dun’ rip his clothes this time. Jick ‘ere needs a new breaches.”

There was a symphony of guttural growls in response. Jick took his foot off the gas, cruising down to sixty kilometres per hour. He double clutched down and hit the gas to give him some control and he went for Micah.

Jacen managed to stumble over a vine hidden behind some knee-height foliage. It was not his finest moment. He awkwardly grinned in Lilin's direction as he recovered his footing.

"Think I'll keep my focus on our immediate surroundings. I was trying to get a grasp on where Fal's Dark Acolytes are. All I can get is a rough sense that we're headed in the right direction."

"Think you're onto something there Voidstalker," one of the Dogs said, a finger to his ear. "Signs of a skirmish up ahead."

Jacen headed onwards at a slightly quicker pace, but it wasn't long until he found the signs himself. Blaster holes burned through the wide, flat leaves. Straight edges still smouldering where a saber had been used to cut through the dense jungle. Then they came across the bodies.

One of Fal's lot had been gunned down at least. The rest were locals. Then they came across the bodies of one of the akk dogs. It didn't look much like a dog to Jacen. Its scales were covered in burn marks, yet seemed relatively intact. Judging from the eyes, an acolyte had managed to get its saber through one. Going by the blood around the maw, not before the dog had taken a good bite.

"Well," Jacen said. "Hopefully the rest of them have dispersed."

Swtor_2014-11-10_15-55-01-75.png

There was a soft growl. Jacen signed, hand reached for his saber. "Lilin, Stali, I can only apologise for my big mouth."

The sound of undergrowth being battered aside, and the thundering of paws approached.

"Oh my Force," Lilin said as the thundering of paws started approaching the group. She wasn't ready to fight with beasts that were immune to most of her attacks -- fighting Sith was a different scenario. Sith were mostly sentient and made logical decisions. These dogs, however, acted on instinct and cared little about how it would be the best to attack.

She didn't know how to fight with animals, she had to admit it.

Even though her weapon was not of much help, she took her lightsaber off of her belt and ignited it, releasing a blue-glowing blade into the air. She had her blaster with her, but she guessed there was not much help of that either.

So she hoped they would manage to handle these beasts with cooperation and clear thinking. Because the girl's equipment definitely worked against her in that case.

"Jacen, you better keep your mouth closed indeed," the girl muttered, not thinking much about what she was saying. it was a joke and she hoped the man would get that. Heck, she hoped Stali would get that. But she could never be so sure of anything.

From the looks of things on the ground the droids were leaving their marks on the battlespace. Scanners showed tri-droids, Crab Droids and ahost of others she couldn't identify. How the Black Sun had acquired so much war material was a mystery to her. Definitely something to investigate and trace back to the source. Someone was shelling out a ton of droids, and making a ton of profit.

"Roger that, Rings of the Lord Actual. Mark priority targets with infrared, we'll hit what we can."

"Got another hit on my port side, our shields can't last much longer."

"Hold formation, they'll last."

Silara grimaced, teeth gnashing as she gripped the yoke and rolled the Black X-wing hard to her six. End over end she flipped, finally stabilizing for her attack run. Amber eyes flashed across the gauges. shileds were down, right wing had hull damage and her power systems were flickering.

"Never a good sign."

"Red two on attack run."

"Red three following."

Missiles were running out. The concussion warheads werent high capacity mags and she'd dumped nearly all of them on the first go around.

"Full burn, attack then set up again. Just like we rehearsed!"

She didn't know why she was screaming. It might have been the booming of the cannons below, or the explosions clogging her view with thick plumes of acrid smoke.

One hand flipped her flight goggles up, activating the infra-red to cut through the haze. The other slapped the throttle stick and re-gripped the yoke, thumbs hovering.

"On target, ordinance away!"

"Direct hit!"

"Partial!"

Silara jammed the trigger again, sending lancing red beams into the mix. Another trio of concussion warheads sailed down, obliterating earth, machine and organic alike. Debris cascaded up in a massive thermal, small tsunamis created by the overpressure whipped the metallic shards in a cascade of death.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

"Kark, Red One,I'm hit."

"Where?"

She didn't answer, rather she slammed the yoke right attempting to break contact. The engines roared, the right bank exploded, shattering the wing. Red hot shards of metal pierced her leg and side like razors, burning as if coated in molten lava.

"Kark!"

"Red two to Red one, what's going on?"

She still didn't answer. Her hands were slick now, blood was pooling, running down her sides, and down her leg to the floor plates below. Black clad fingers wrested with a lever beside her, slipping twice before catching.

"Red One, Bailing!"

*Whoosh!*

The canopy released, rockets fired and her seat blaster from the craft.....

Bright flashes of orange through the treeline heralded their arrive. The Alliance special forces started laying down fire almost immediately. The sullustan furthest forward was on one knee one moment, then the foliage exploded in front of him. A massive beast, somewhere between reptile and canine burst forth.

Paws landed on the soldiers chest throwing him down. A gaping maw loomed over his head. Powerful jaws ended the struggle in one snap.

As Jacen strode forwards a crack rang out. As Jacen heard the sound of an old fashioned black powder rifle bolt, the first akk dog dropped to the ground. There was one precise hole in the centre of its head. One rifleman couldn't deal with all of them though.

Jacen leapt forwards, using the Force to gain some momentum before leaping between two of the akk dogs, hoping to draw their attention and give Lilin something to strike at. The tip of his saber ran down the length of one of the creature's flanks. A hot white trail was left in its wake, but the scales didn't give at all.

After seeing the debris of a matte X-wing crashing down, Ugohr realized that, even though the pilot may have survived, seeing that X-wing seat ejected, tri-droids took out the guns on both Galadriel and Andariel, alongside the tank whose flail was taken out earlier, as if the tri-droids were equipped with ion cannons. This left them with seven tanks in combat-ready condition and two X-wings to whittle down the enemy droid army, along with five tri-droids. But Nardil feels that it may stand a better chance luring his own tank towards the remaining positions, where the Rings of the Lord have circled together by now, near their initial position, when they were first deployed. The relief pilot is still busy on Woostri, alongside the reserve men, getting spare parts for repairing the engines and the flail of a tank, alongside the materials for repairing the electronics on the laser cannons.

"Wesa being hailed"

"I will patch you Rogue Sixteen now"

"Rogue Sixteen, disa Padawan Poof of da Rings of the Lord. Yousa copy? Wesa fightin da Black Sun in da Malastare Narrows"

"Nardil, falling back"

"All-n-youse, form a circle and hold da line!"

That is, until a CR90 corvette laden with infantry units land near the positions laid out by the remaining Rings of the Lord tanks still in fighting condition. Upon disembarking, grenadiers, anti-aircraft units enter the area delineated by the remaining surviving tanks. What is now known as the Army of Malastare, comprises about 700 infantrymen, of which an entire battalion of line infantry has been deployed. The light turbolasers mounted on the corvette fired at the remaining tri-droids, which broke off from targeting the Alliance fighters and tanks to instead engage the grounded corvette, while unloading its passengers and their equipment. But the sudden appearance of Rogue 16 mystified Ugohr, who couldn't use the Force to ascertain why at the same time as he was commanding his Rings of the Lord on the battlefield. Did Rogue 16 expect the corvette's captain to receive his signal? Did Rogue 16 expect Ugohr to do so? Did Rogue 16 respond to the distress signal launched by the Rings of the Lord when the main force came within their firing range?

"Theysa fast"

"We realized the foolishness of the Alliance high command, only deploying the Rings of the Lord, even though no instructions were given to us. Until the planet is ours, we are at your disposal. We had to correct the Alliance high command's mistakes" the commander of the reinforcement unit told Ugohr.

"Create a perimeter around da elements in da surface! Also, secure Red Una"

"Yousa hear da general. Wesa paste da mackineeks into scrap metal!" a Gungan grenadier told the other grenadiers while they are getting in position inside the crowded circle of tanks.

The akk dogs really weren't friendly, as it seemed. Lilin tried not to look at the man these dogs had killed, but she just couldn't ignore him. These dogs were mad.

Jacen already leapt forward, but the girl didn't really know how to attack. She could go and strike at the them when Jacen was grabbing their attention, but she didn't know where to hit. Their eyes were pointed towards the man, so she couldn't really strike them there. Or maybe that is exactly what she could do?

She decided to do that, leaping towards the dogs and hoping to land on one. Goodness, she should have definitely learned Animal Friendship, maybe then she could be of any use there.

Surprisingly, she managed to land on top of one of the dogs. The beats was obviously confused and tried to get rid of the pest who Lilin was, but the girl did her best at holding onto the creature. She would have to hit the eye because that was the only part of them LIlin knew she could attack at. Everything else was probably lightsaber-resistant.

The dog got more and more furious and Lilin had a hard time focusing on the eyes of the best. She had to do that, though, for both her and Jacen's lives.

Without thinking much, she struck at the right eye of the akk dog.

The gamorreans managed to extinguish the initial gout of flames. A group of singed and crispy kultists keeping the truck at pace with the skiff. But the grizzled old veteran was patient. Fuel was still pouring from the tank that Lok had pierced.

Davon held up the flare gun he'd been reaching for and grinned at Lok. Thump, went the gun. This time the parts of the truck flew in all directions before it turned aside. The ball of flame rolling over and over in the sand. A flaming tyre bounced alongside their skiff for a few seconds.

Davon turned his eyes to their target. Redfinga himself stood tall, defiant. Bodies of Eviscar dugs at his feet.

"Hold the wheel Kiddle," Karr grunted. A Dug with heavy goggles took the controls and closed them on the Krimson truck. Davon holstered his scatter blaster and raised his wickedly curved beskad.

An old man he was, but as the skiff closed he leapt across the gap. The suspension of the mighty sand ship bounced under his weight.

"Lok, Nia, get the wheel!" Davon called as he raises his beskad.

[member="Vexen"]

Welp. This escalated quickly.

With the way that those vehicles were rip roaring over at his direction, it was easy to say that things were not going to go on friendly terms. A sweaty, grimy scowl darkened the Talith's visage, his hair flying in the air with the gust of wind. He set his feet a foot apart, chapped lips licked by a flick of his tongue.

He still felt a bit off, and he didn't know why. At least, not yet. Micah had never been cut off from the Force. This was new. He felt a bit weaker, senses dulled. He put that to be due to the heat and the bit of wooziness at the confusion of how he'd arrived at this location. However, he would soon find out.

More aptly, when he decided to wait it out. His patience was a bit short, so it would be easy to simply flick the vehicle off course with a wave of his hand.

Which he did -- only to have nothing happen.

Confusion wracked his expression, that scowl deepening. "What the..." he flicked his hand again. They kept coming. The realization that he couldn't use the Force finally hit.

"Feth!" well, little option now. The saber came into his hand, glove wrapping tight around the hilt. The snap-hiss would erupt to life, a blaze of orange as bright as the sun overhead.

Time to do a little carving.

(Theme)

A quiet atmosphere, peaceful almost with a breach of trouble on the horizon. Light pierced the clouds as the Jedi Master stood on the rocky path just before the stone steps. The motive that brought Kahne Porte to this land had been seen and unseen. Written down by blood then stricken clear with the wave of a hand. Kahne glanced upwards a bit as he stared towards the Jedi Master before him. A gust of wind had taken up refuge within the circle for a moment seemingly engulfed the Master while petals from above fell against her. The Jedi Master cocked his head tot he side for a moment as he watched the event happen and was seemingly intrigued, perhaps he was sent her to aid her, or not. That part wasn't revealed yet. And only in time would it be written again.

The Jedi Master's aura had surrounded the area almost just as the gust of wind did before. Thus in turn wind struck him lightly billowing his cloak around a bit before they became motionless as they were just moment ago. His aura reached her, and while not making it obvious that he was there, but instead gently touched her own just as the petals had gently graced her.

However...

The Jedi Master took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as he turned away and glanced down the the long path away from where Adele was. There was something approaching, far off in the distance and he couldn't quite make out what it was exactly. There was something more hidden hear that what was perceived by the standard mind, the Jedi could feel it again as he did long ago the tendrils of darkness that he felt during that battle along the border of Sanctum. The Jedi narrowed his eyes off in the distance of the approaching shades, and perhaps that is what they were exactly. Kahne took a step or two in the direction trying to look more closely, all the while his own force awareness seemed to be going full circle.

"Something's coming." The Jedi Master whispered to anyone and no one, the wind seemingly taking his words on a ride that would never be heard from again.

Reavers.

Bloody goram reavers!

"WE HAVE REAVERS!" Choli's voice would crackle through the makeshift comm. This time it was more than just fighting others for the burning fields, it was dealing with the raping, pillaging, and crazed cannibalistic lifeforms that the black had twisted into something that ain't human anymore. The Bando Gora had done something that ain't right to those men, and the result had been the stuff of youngling's nightmares.

Black billowing clouds of smoke trailed behind the speeders and spike covered vehicles of the Bando Gora Reavers. Their crafts had been designed to inspire fear; half rotten bodies tied to the masts and over their hoods, speared through with various decapitated heads with the dead's hair trailing behind them in the dusty wind.

Ain't no one ever gonna want to be captured by them. What they would do, the things that they'd done. There ain't no way. Folk rather be dead through a mercy killing than go through that.

"RUN!"

Who was it?

Adele had felt the gingerly brush of another. For the briefest moment, she believed it was [member="Jacen Voidstalker"] again. However, that was soon clarified. It was another Force sensitive. Lids fell open, waking from her meditation. Blonde hair would float in the wind, caught upon a crown of small beige horns. The Iridonian gave a slow blink.

Slowly, she stood in a rustle of fabric. Her robe fell into place, and the seemingly tranquil gaze of the Jedi Master went sailing towards the stranger.

Caution would hold the woman fast, at least until [member="Kahne Porte"] made a mention that there was someone else. Others. A slight narrowing of ice blue eyes and she could sense the difference. What was it?

Turning back to the man, she simply asked, “Who are you?”

"Wassat?" Harb called as the lone figure in the desert rapidly approached.

"Looks like a stun stick or something?"

"Just run 'im down. Don't miss. That's momen'um innit? Dun ma'er if his stick puts a hole in us or shorts the engine. We keep going and he's flat. Flat and dead."

"I'll wave the others to put 'oles in em if we miss!"

"Good, then the dugs can tear him apart."

The landfleet fell upon Micah. Harbs truck at the front, the one pumping out riffs swinging wide as the others fell in line to scoop up their catch.

[member="Lilin Imperieuse"]

One of the akk dogs was occupied with Lilin, but the other he had struck turned and snapped at his heels. Two more emerged from the foliage. One went for him whilst the other charged the soldiers. Screaming, yelled orders and blaster fore filled the air.

Jacen planted his feet and took a wide swipe, golden blade cutting through the air. It caught one dog in the jaw, gouging out a chunk of flesh. The two predators approached more carefully now, looking for an opening past that deadly blade. Lilin had shown the way, a strike for the mouth or eyes would do the trick.

As he backed away slowly, one circled. Clever bastard, Jacen bemoaned. There was a moment of tension as both lowered onto their haunches and prepared to leap.

Jacen lashed out with his saber, a single thrust straight ahead. His left hand swung out to face the second dog, palm out. The dog before him got the golden blade right in its pallet, the second was held in a telekinetic grip off the ground. With a thought Jacen sent it sideways at a heavy tree trunk. Something snapped when it struck, by the sound it made both bones and tree. They needed to finish, or drive away these things and get after the Sith.

[member="Vexen"]

They were aiming to run him over; that became crystal clear quick.

No Force meant he couldn’t enhance his movements; but that didn’t mean he was completely helpless. The years of training meant that the toned musculature under his armor was fit and well used to going the limits. It might be balls sweating hot in this joint, but he could still kick some ass.

Well, at least take a few bits here and there.

Micah waited until they were close. A few meters in he went flying forward. He couldn’t quite jump on top of the damn truck, but he could dart out to the side and carve his saber along the side. The saber went slipping through like butter, his aim right at the engine to make it neutralize it so. He didn’t spare time waiting ot see what happened, there were still other vehicles coming at him.

A stream of slugs punched holes on the ground, tracking to find him as Micah gave an, “Oh shit!” He zig zagged, grunting as dust and sand came rolling up. Good thing his HUD was still working, it was all that he could rely on when the other speeder came by. The hum of his saber cut to slash right across the front of the speeder, intending to cut it in half.

At least, until he got a slug smacking right against the songsteel plates on his chest. That just hurt.

[member="Micah Talith"]

A uninhibited cry of horror filled the truck. Micah needn't have disabled the engine, his blade had carried on through the chassis and taken Jick's gas leg off at the knee. Harb was leaning across the vehicle, holding the wheel steady. He reached for the manual hand brake and yanked on it as he kept them straight. Jick was no use to them now, he realised. Wouldn't last long in the gang without two good legs. The cracks of guns being fired rang out above the beat of the music. The land fleet was now circling the lone wanderer.

"Dugs! Get 'im dugs!" Harb yelled. He turned and pushed through into the open back of the truck. Teeth were gnashed together, his 'dugs' making horrid, gutteral sounds as he unchained them. "Better than dogs, but barely," he grunted as he unlocked them. As a group they leapt over the back of the truck. Four bounded on four legs, whilst the last pair, wrapped up from head to toe in filthy rags against the harsh light, rang on two. "Sic 'em boys!"

As the vehicles gave space, firing at their dangerous foe, the six creature rang straight for him, snarling all the way.

Yes, she was independent - but she was more in the debate of if she actually cared enough about plan A, to not seek an alternative, more growth oriented Plan B. She’d seen and felt @Ashmedai’s power as soon as she touched him, and she wanted that. Hers was good, yes, fine, but nothing above average.

And the idea of someone manipulating her, she didn’t like. Not in this life, and not with this second chance at a resurrection. Her lip twitched as the options dotted around in her mind. She’d really only needed [member="Sal Katarn"] to get off this forsaken planet and nothing more. The fact that Centurion was now here was perhaps something a little bit more intriguing.

If a man was miserable with his life, he’d be a liability. What Ashmedei said was true - nobody gambled with their own life; the mortal interest of self preservation was unavoidable for any sentient; and the exploitation of his own disinterest to appeal to how flexible she was willing to be was unappealing.

With Malastare muting her attachment to The Force with an overshadowing dimness, her options were somewhat sealed.

“We will meet again another time, when I need you.” She had a penchant for faces. Her eyes flickered to the Sith Lord with fixated concentration. “This reunion was not coincidence. Take me to your vessel with you.”
