That's right folks! You heard it right! Rendili's Home Defense Force and Planetary Government are hosting a tournament for the best masters of swordplay in the galaxy on their lovely world's Capital! In a series of single elimination matches one can fight their way to the top and claiming to be one of the greatest blade users in the galaxy!

You may be asking yourself why blades? Why not free for all? Because this tournament isn't going to be something to end in a moment of a quickdraw or end up in a blood bath! Nor will overpowered forcers have their way in this tournament either. To bring them down to a level playing field of skill and physical ability Ysalamir will be present in the tournament's location itself to deny them the ability to actively use their force powers to gain an unfair edge in the battle.

To make this all possible we need raring and willing combatants to go at it! There will be one big thread for mingling and interaction between rounds and for spectators to make comments on what happens in the actual fight threads themselves which will happen separately to keep them focused and not confuse other paired fighters. The judges so far for this event will be myself, Chi Chuchi, and one other Rendili inhabitant should they be interested, along with an RPJ should one end up being needed if anything gets a little hard to discern fairly.

Now you may be asking for what reason should your character to participate? Well for one thing there'd be boasting rights for moving up the ladders of course, but in addition they will a decent credit prize, a slight discount on all Rendili products in the future, and an honorary title of Blademaster from the Rendili Blademasters organization as acknowledgement for their skills. Which, should the winner wish, would allow them entrance into the group's upper echelons if they ever desired to join, without the years of commitment others have spent.

In addition items may be donated by interested parties looking to interest more people by enticing them with items if anyone so chooses. Bets of such sorts would also be allowed, though also expected to be respected and kept if made. Anyone interested in any shape or form may post in this thread regardless if they wish to be a form of sponsor, participant, or spectator.

Well if you hand it over to be locked into stun and triple checked before and after a fight it could be allowed due to a character's familiarity with its feel. Just as a character may prefer a heftier vibrosword to vibroblade, though neither will cut, the weapons provided will just be catered to feel as close as possible to everyone's standard weapon.

As such if we do get more lightsaber types wishing to enter perhaps we'll have a lightsaber that's set to perma-stun. That way since regular sword users would be forced to use blades not custom made for themselves, neither would lightsaber wielders have the advantage of a personal weapon.

So yes there will be a lightsaber allowed but its tournament issued before a fight and is expected to be returned like the rest of any equipment.

I'll be using a random generator to pair people. Also feel free during the event to say you passed preliminaries. Its unlikely it'd have a small turnout, PCs will just be the bad asses who made it to the big Public Setting.

Alachei's race are excellent weaponsmiths and metalworkers. Maybe as an added prize, the winner (or runner-up should she win) could receive a custom-order Alchemy or Force-Imbued blade. Doesn't seem right to have a blade tournament without an invaluable blade as the grand prize.

This sounds really fun! I might have my character join because he uses a big ol' Vibrosword~ It might also be a good way to get my character into some RP, seeing as how I havn't done anything yet.

Question: Are we allowed to wear armor?

After talking it over with Camellia, I think that we've decided not to include it as armor often has strength enhancements or secondary functions/gadgets that might not fit the spirit of the match. Besides with blunted and training weaponry armor shouldn't be needed. That said, if it's plain vanilla armor and just for looks/fluff and not uber stuff, go for it? Hits or any other point system we decide to use will still count though.

Yeah, that makes sense. I only wanted it because of looks and my IC char, but I guess he can go with not wearing it for this event. It's not that big of a deal.

That and it probably isn't something suited for a friendly tourney anyways, haha.

At that time I will post the main thread and list who is paired against who after that. So until 6 PM on Friday EST, people can sign up to be added still as participants in the fights, there is no limit on when to join in as a spectator.
