Conquest of Alderaan [One Sith vs Republic]

Life is full of disappointments. Sometimes you just can't get what you want.

But Darth Janus did not fight fairly. Darth Janus did not fight honorably. The modus operandi of this Sith was dirty tactics and trickery. Swordfighting against an Echani? Pass. Blasting an Echani with Lightning, which it had no practical defense against? Yes, certainly. Crushing these two so unceremoniously was oddly satisfying. It felt like victory, but not quite. It was an alien feeling and one that he wasn't quite used to. He would have to do this more often. The bodyguard fell over and began to crawl in a rather pathetic manner towards and past Tyrin, apparently oblivious to the Lightning. Meanwhile, the other Echani fired her pistol randomly until it could do no more. He assumed she had lost consciousness.

Sensing this much, the lightning abruptly cut. The sudden absence of the lightning's noise hung strangely in the air. The shallow pants of a pained and exerted Darth Janus were all that there was. He needed to leave now. Find someone of weak will and drain the life out of them so he could continue this fight. He was too intent on leaving to bother finishing either of them off, but there were others who could do that for him. Tyrin stalked for the edge of the hallway, where the Sith trooper and the rest of his squad were still waiting.

"Arrest them both, lock them in the basement. We'll deal with them later. Search them thoroughly."

The officer nodded, motioning for his men to approach the two incapacitated Echani.

"Oh, wait." Darth Janus called, just before they got further into the hallway. "Stun them first. Just to be safe."

The officer nodded, and soon enough two Sith soldiers loomed over each of the Echani, firing a single stun shot from their rifles. It never hurt to be thorough. Nothing to much too gain, but far too much to lose.

No mercy wouldst Orcus show to this human mortal soul
Shield prevented death, but the blow had taken a mighty toll
I will not deign another exchange, the Herglic thought,
With bellow shall I obliterate him, turn body to red blot.
A singular power of the Force didst Orcus possess
That terrible roar before wast merely a shadow of less
Than true full and unleashed strength of hideous might
Again he opened his maw and loosed a bellow on all in sight
Compressed air erupted in a conic projection of ruination
The walls of the university met utter awing obliteration
For that which swept forth couldst to armies lay waste
But Orcus wished only a single man this death to taste
That which was behind the Herglic still stood after the roar
But the once tall university afore was now nothing more
Ruins looked as if a hurricane had swept through and razed
Or a twenty thousand bomb been dropped upon and blazed
Twas full effects of a bomb blast which Je'daii would feel
No shield of knight could stand before this that broke steel
If flying rubble did not kill nor blunt impact tear limbs asunder
Then nasal cavity wouldst explode with bone-cracking thunder
Lungs would compress and arteries under strain would sever
Swiftly they would fill with drowning blood, all due to air pressure
If shockwave did not tear apart nor air per inch the organs burst
If shield did hold, then in flight would he soon be well versed

The noise of the colossus doing battle with a fellow Jedi and Alderaanian guards engaging Sith troopers was mere background to Ryan. Focused intent on the objective at hand allowed no room for doubting thoughts to intrude. Not when he found his attack stymied by a simple parry and not when Daella continued to weave her tapestry of lies.

Why listen to the words of a Traitor? Why even grant her the acknowledgement that he'd heard her? I am stone. That's what they have always wanted me to be. Emotionless. Well, now I am. I feel nothing. Nothing but my purpose. Stones do not talk. Stones do not hear. Nor shall I.

The male Sith returned, jerking Ryan to the side with a Force Pull. Korr went with the yank and boosted his speed and changed his trajectory ever so slightly in the Force. The result was that his body went hurtling through the air straight toward Jakobs. Ryan lashed out, armor allowing him near full range of motion as he launched a brutal kick at Sopher's face. At the least it could send Jakobs reeling, at most it could snap his neck.

The floor shuddered beneath him and he threw himself backwards, wrapping the hydrastaff around arm by twisting as the Force stun hit him and he mentally blaned, only vaguely aware that he was falling, falling, watching earth and sky circle around him like the hands of a clock. Wind rushed past his helmet and he fought against the dream-like state he was in, clawing his way outwards, struggling to make sense of everything was happening. One last sweat-jerking effort and he was clear of it, fully aware of the fact that he was falling from several stories up with a giant monster not far away.

A voice crackled through his secure comms.

"Republic forces, this is Colonel Vankechko with the 22nd Armored Battalion, arriving at the city. The regrouped air forces are ahead of us to hotly contested areas. Priorities being the palace, university, and hospital. Strike that. Pulling back from university. Send air support." There was an adjustment, "Stick to your guns, troops. This isn't over yet."

The comm went empty and he heard a buzz of familiar ships come buzzing in, almost hitting him as he plummeted towards the ground.

[member="Tracyn"] did something else entirely and instead created a barrier of force energy around himself and diverted the destruction to either side of him, which led to his being flung around a little bit but avoiding most of the damage. Nexus made his way closer to the Knight, blade in hand. Refusing to speak to the man, he silently moved forward. Ignoring what he had to say, Nexus raised the blade and brought it close enough for Tracyn to initiate the combat.

The dark giant stood silent as he empowered his empty right hand with the power of the force, ready to strike in a moments notice.

Niamh was already unconscious so the stun bolt didn't do much of anything except force more electricity into her already overcharged body. End result? She might as well have been dead because she wasn't waking up any time soon.

Teria didn't fare much better. The lightning eventually made her stop moving too. The stun bolt knocked her out, though she was slightly better off because Niamh had taken the brunt of the electrical assault. End result? She was also captured.

‘Awaken, young one. We have a long road to walk before salvation is upon us.’

Eleena stirred and the touch of another, and the gentle nudge in her mind. The first thing she recognized was pain. Eyes snapped open and she gasped, with each passing breath the pain eased and the momentary panic faded from her eyes. Bruised, but nothing was broken. Her head throbbed horribly. She looked up at the one who had stirred her, soft blue eyes looked down at her with a touch of concern.

She rolled onto her side and pushed herself slowly to her knees, trembling slightly from the excursion. She felt drained, exhausted. She eyed the Jedi with a flicker of fear in her face, but said nothing.

Myr wandered through the halls, killing, planting thermal detonators, and generally being a nuisance until finally he had only one last silver orb left within his palm.

There were four dozen or so Thermal Detonators placed throughout one half of the facility now, not nearly enough to bring the whole place down, not even close in fact. The grin he had been wearing until now slowly waxed on his face, disappearing into a frown. All this work for nothing? All the prancing and killing for no destroyed palace?

That was really a shame.

His head swiveled slightly as the force alerted him to something. Dozens of troopers were coming towards each, they rushed through the path he had taken here. Perhaps hundreds of soldiers, big, small, men, women, all heavily armed rushed through the hallways directly behind Myr. The serpent twisted slightly, a smirk once again growing upon his face.

So much for timers.

Myr pressed a switch on his final Thermal Detonator, and then tossed it into the hallway.

Like a slithering snake he ran in the opposite direction, directly towards the Throne Room. It took only seconds, beeping resounding through the massive echoing hall over and over again until finally, an explosion erupted. It was only small at first, and then a chain began, each Thermal Detonator, sensitive as they were, began to be set off in turn.

Boom. BOOM. BOOOOOM. Boom.

The Thermal Detonators exploded one after another, two dozen silvery orbs tearing apart people, walls, and ceilings as their explosive baradium payload tore into the palace. Chunk by chunk nearly a third of the great Aldera City palace was torn asunder, killing the remaining defenders of the palace and rendering it almost uninhabited.

Myr stared at his handy work for a moment, looking at the collapsed ceiling and hallways that he had stood in just a few moments ago, the light poured in from above, and he hissed slightly as he stepped further back into the Throne Room.

Slowly he wound his way back towards the Throne of Alderaan, bumping against it as he avoided the rays of sunlight that now lit the doorway of the Throne Room.

“The Palace has been secured.” He hissed into a commlink as he sat himself down upon the Throne.

Veino used the Force to push Alexandra out of the path of the disruptor bolts, and then her other friend as well as he dove out of the way, using the Force to speed himself, hurling out of the way, wincing as the shots flew by within a meter, sending agonizing pain through his side. He felt to one knee, gasping, and then struck out with the Force again, aiming to toss the pistol from the man's hand.

Then the ground began to shake, and he steadied himself with one hand, and turned, startled as the worm burst from the ground. What was that thing? It was huge. Monstrous. Like some massive movie from a b-list holovid. Then the wall behind him blew outward, sending rubble soaring through the air to slam amongst them. He rolled forward and covered his head as chips of rock scattered around him, and he caught a glimpse of Niamh and her bodyguard with two Sith troopers standing over them.

He settled into the Force and stretched out sending two chunks of stone at the troopers and running over to Alexandra and pointing to the two Echani women, "We need to get them out of here." He gestured to the worm, "And deal with that thing somehow."

Then he was gone, sprinting towards the two unconscious women, darting between still falling rubble. Stone snow, almost. With metal thrown in for good measure. His mind flashed back to that training with the Fel Imperium in the pits of blood as the cadets sprinted between obstacles, attempting to shove each other off balance. It was just like this. Except this was real. He dug deeper for a little more speed.

The hydrastaff simply continued tearing at the armour of [member="Kiyron "]when they fell out of the building. Malphas slowed his descent through the Force, but he momentarily let go of the hydrastaff so that the Republic soldier was going to be hitting the floor first.

Taking his lightsaber off of his belt, he positioned himself in those few seconds in a way that his feet would hit the ground first. Well, not the ground, but rather the Republic soldier's chest. There was going to be a sickening impact, and with the Hydrastaff acting on it's own, tearing apart the man's armour once he had foolishly wrapped it around himself and would most probably inject it's poison into him at some point in his wounds.

"Uh, sir?"

Janus turned around, just in time to see some upstart sprinting towards his two captives. Where the hell had this man come from? Wasn't Astraios supposed to be dealing with him? Whatever. His presence here was negligible, as would his attempts to rescue the two Echani. How completely insufferable. Pleased though he was with his victory, he would not be denied of his captives. Parts of the university were crumbling around them, but Janus was unconcerned. The building would hold so long as the One Sith were present.

Reaching out with the Force, Janus pushed back against the debris the Knight had launched. His back continued to roar in pain, but it just made Janus more infuriated. He had suffered worse. Rocks and rubble streamed back at the Knight, while the four Sith troopers hastily placed stun cuffs on the unconscious Echani duo and dragged them off to be sent for the basement. As this happened, the three remaining Sith soldiers subsequently opened fire on Veino, a torrent of blaster bolts hurtling towards the Jedi rogue.

"Leave this place, you imbecile. This planet belongs to the One Sith now."

Alexandra moved to looked at Veino and for a moment she was going to say something but then she remembered who she fought for now. "Veino, leave now, get off the planet, or i will be forced to fight you." The simple sentence is the reason that she now activated her blade and then spoke into a comlink in her ear. "The Jedi ally Veino Garn is mine to deal with, if any should intrude i will remember it." With that she moved to set her feet and resumed the point that if he did not leave she would have to end his being here, violently.

Obviously unattended for what has to be years now, the lower levels of the palace were ignored and unclean. Dust could be seen floating and whirling on seemingly every floor of the lower levels, made possible by the random rays of sunlight that'd broken though the exterior of the walls. Despite the tenebrosity of the rooms, Helios's Unit moved without hesitation as they constantly scattered into each area, emptying their bags of explosives as Helios took his time to plant his own. Careful positioning was constantly on his mind as the detonators left his chalky palms and were placed near columns, support walls, and nearly everywhere else.

Once they'd finished Helios withdrew the thought of exploding them, instead preferring to wait for a more appropriate moment. As he and his Unit ascended up the stairs into the awaiting chaos, the soldiers once more drew their ranged weaponry from their backs and Helios' right hand shot to his belt and snatched his double-bladed lightsaber from it's resting place. The dual-sided weapon whirled and violently spun in unpredictable rotations of vibrant scarlet as he deflected blaster bolts back to their owners, cut down enemy infantry, and neutralized turrets.

Helios' silver head of hair spilled over his shoulders and chest as his pale face, as unchanging as it was, looked from face to face, ending lives in the same order that he allowed the mongrels of the Republic to have a glimpse of the Sith's face. Time eventually allowed Helios to make it to the throne room's level where, the chaos seemed to have died down. There were no blasters being fired, Helios couldn't hear the hum of lightsabers, nor the clang of steel. It was actually, quiet. The Eldorai made hand motions towards his accompanying soldiers and they disbursed, leaving Helios by himself. His pale digits moved to deactivated his weapon, and clip it to his belt. He gave the massive hall a cursory glance and clasped his hands behind his back before casually advancing forward, taking in the destruction of the scene and the glee he felt as his golden gaze panned over the dead republic soldiers littering the ground.

Despite the rips, tears, and smudges that'd randomly appeared on Helios' midnight garbs, he walked as if wore royal robes. His stride, long and demanding of attention, with perfect posture and his head held, perhaps, too high. He rounded a corner, and rudely stepped on a pile of Republic infantry for a short while until he hopped off at the entrance to the Throne Room. Slightly tilting his head, Helios eyed the figure on the throne before exposing a set of ivory teeth in between charcoal lips, sharing a creepy Cheshire smile with the Acolyte in his presence. A robotic, yet raspy voice followed, a sound reminiscent to a rake dragging dry leaves across cement.

"Well done, Acolyte."

The charge had been quick, efficient, and exciting. Many men had fallen securing their way into the university. Speeders lay in twisted metal ruins, and bodies clad in heavy durasteel littered the ground outside. [member="Darth Hauntruss"] would, hopefully, be pleased with the results of the attack. Sylvanan had arrived with two other soldiers, both of which he had never spoken a word to before the assault began.

The rest of the Black Lancers had filled into the university like flies to honey. Sylvanan had followed, and quickly made his way toward his Dark Lady's aid. The force titans fought, while he scuttled around through the rubble trying to find a better firing position. He opted to remain a few paces east of the worm; his jet black armor blending in quiet well with the shattered walls.

The slightest of grins broke across his face. "Move around the worm. Protect Hauntruss, her success is our first priority." He ordered. The two men on either side of him paid little attention to rank--blasters were firing and hell was breaking loose. Sylvanan had a commanding voice, and they instinctively followed. They hurried off wordlessly to make their way to the other side of the worm.

Meanwhile, Sylvanan sighted with his DC-17, right at the Republic defenders. For a fleeting moment, he questioned his actions. Groveling under the Sith was not his way, but, peace must be maintained, and if he played his cards right it would be possible to get into Hauntruss's favor. A personal meeting with the Sith would be valuable indeed.

Wordlessly, he took in a deep breath. His focus transfixed on the enemy force, and his finger pulled back on the trigger. All he heard was the familiar pap-pap of the rifle firing, and all he felt was the shaking it gave as it hurled bolts of azure pain toward the defenders. It was a wonderful feeling.

Talon aimed the fighter at the remainder of the University. If he could destroy the last of the archives then he could protect it from the Sith's hands. The fighter jinked and juked as it came in low at building top level. Suddenly he could feel the force being directed toward him and the dark taint of it, all too familiar, brushed his mind. He locked the steering yoke as he drew near and with barely a kilometer left he popped the canopy and force jumped from the seat toward a roof top as the Fighter that still held a shadow bomb bee lined for the archives with one failed engine trailing black smoke.

He wasn't done fighting yet they would have to kill him first. He hit the roof top and rolled across the gravel covered surface before skidding to a stop. He would advance still.

"I will find you Moira." He said as he finally picked up information from across the link. "This won't stop me."

AA positions had previously been set up on the rooftops of the building during the One Sith's original, earlier securing of the building. The fighter was easily detected before it got to its intended target. The AA gun blared furiously, sending out a stream of laser fire for the oncoming fighter craft. With no pilot to take evasive maneuvers, the fighter was struck several times by lasers before detonating in air.

The archives and the University would hold.

Kiyron cursed as he was free-falling. What had ever given him that idea? It was horrible. But then, he wasn't exactly the king of good ideas. The staff was biting and clawing at him, and spitting poison all over his armor. It started to eat away at it. He caught a glimpse of the Sith preparing to land on him once they hit the ground. He grabbed the staff thing behind its heads as it flailed around. He shoved it behind him to land on it and pulled out the Dauntless blade with his other, holding it upright, so that if the Sith did land on him, there would also be a very sharp piece of metal sticking up as well. Phrik alloy, to be precise. Purchased as one of ten for Havoc.

She meditated on it again, and began to try and pull the ship towards her. It was only way to make sure, it avoided the building. She pulled on thrust ports that where undamaged, in hopes to alter it`s course. She hoped her armour was strong enough, for what was about to happen. The ship turned towards her, and started to dart at her like a missile. IT was going miss building, but it was going to blow up near her................

Objective: Landing on a Soldier.

The hydrastaff coiled when [member="Kiyron "]tried to throw the hydrastaff behind him.

In those moments it completely wrapped around the soldier, and tightened, constricting completely around him in those moments, acting on it's own for the most part, so when he tried to lift a sword up it didn't get to rise to full height due to the hydrastaff holding him tightly.

Malphas landed heavily upon Kiyron once they had both hit the ground. Of course the phrik had still hit his leg, but it hadn't reached up to full height, and Acarus's Vonduun Boots continued to press the soldier into the ground, most probably cracking his armour and breaking a few ribs.

He felt the phrik blade on his leg, but it had only cut a few gouges into the outside of his leg. He was unharmed for the most part, but there was a soldier of Havoc who would be needing help.
