That was the right question.

The problem was that Lord Fa did not know. Any scouts he had send out had either stopped at the fringes and could only report on the presence of heavy resistance, but the moment they tried to penetrate the defenses themselves... they did not come back. In truth this was as much an issue of Alliance and Squib sovereignty as anything else in the mix. If the Thirriken had the government in his corner the whole way through he could have simply landed a couple of detachments of Vigor Troopers into this mess and have them sort it out.

It would have been messy, but it would have been swift and conclusive.

This wasn't an option with the government playing hard-to-get in this instance though. So, other options had to be assumed and the main one was to get his own wings dirty at this point.

There wasn't really anyone else who could stealth like him - nobody he would trust with this anyway.

"We don't know." Lord Fa finally responded after a while. "Scouts who tried to find out did not return."

He guided the shuttle to the planet and a few minutes later its sleek form broke through the atmosphere. He had specifically chosen this entry point as was out of assumed sensor range of the facility. It meant they would have to walk a while, before they reached it, but that was the cost of doing business in his experience. Lord Fa briefly looked over to Kith.

Such a strange humanoid, but in an interesting way.

"Anything on the sensors?"

“Oh good,” he replied a little too quickly. She might not have cared but he'd been starting to become more self-conscious of how close he'd had to hold her to keep her upright. The pain in his side, however, had hardly registered at all. He carefully reduced how much of the weight he was taking until she was standing on her own. He kept both arms up in case she fell again.

“And it kind of does matter,” he replied. His hair swayed as he tilted his head from side to side. “I just want to make sure I'm not going to get you killed by helping you leave,” he explained quickly. “And I only got a quick look at the hangar. There were ships but I don't really know models all that well. They've been teaching me to identify profiles of military fighters but that's about it.”

She seemed a touch irrational and was struggling to walk. Feth he hadn't just helped someone out who's suffered a stroke or an aneurysm? Bruises on the wrists - a criminal would be even worse. No, not that. She would have felt different to him otherwise. She was honest, he could sense that much from her.

The gravity well projector shot out of the Subach interdictor's hull like a fat zit being popped - not the worst analogy for Subach-Innes engineering, in Jorus' admittedly biased opinion. The Wretched Hive's tractor beams and tethers provided motive force. For precision guidance, a double ring of Undergrounders stood around the breach, mag-booted to the hull and holding portable tractor beams. The projector slowed as the Hive's beams shifted to pressor mode for a critical moment. Between the ship's beams and the portable ones, the projector eased its way through an atmospheric field and into one of the Hive's larger hangar bays.

He'd turned off the bay's artificial gravity for this. Now shipboard crewers put all sorts of braces, tethers, and tensor fields in place around the roughly spherical grav well gear. Once they signed off, a process of maybe twenty minutes, the ship's gravity came back on. Metal groaned, but the generator wasn't going anywhere; they knew their work.

Part of him seriously considered blasting the rest of the Subach ship to shreds, but that wouldn't be fair to other salvagers. Besides: in theory, spite was beneath him.

She followed behind him as she looked around, several different things lied around, she paid no attention to the sabers...she couldn't for some reason it just...the feeling of fear brought up many things she was trying to forget

However she gave a smile at his look as she picked a paper up looking it over, she learned some sith...very little however, she sat it down as she looked around picking a sword up gently and inspecting it before she sat the blade down...alll of then seemed to have blood on it...she shook her head as she moved to dax

those sabers look...interesting

She said quietly

If Kith were concerned by the 'none of them returned' it didn't pass the expression (or lack there of) on her face. She dialed through the different settings on the sensor equipment, and then shook her head.

"Nothing unexpected. We're out of their range, which also means there's little we can detect. There are no large vehicles in our vicinity, and minimal life sign readings. But there are high winds, magnified by the terrain, so we should be careful."

The facility was located in the badlands- stone and sand and biting winds. None of the clustered natural resources Skor was so famous for here. Which of course was why one of the salvage and repurposing facilities was located here. Nothing else was worth building. No one wanted this place for any other reason, and there were no locals to disturb with either noise or pollution.

Before they left the ship, Kith covered the lower half of her face with a cloth to keep the sharp sand out of her mouth and nose, and a pair of goggles for her eyes. It wasn't high tech, but it was effective. She also pulled her long, silver blond hair back into a tight knot. She didn't require much in the way of equipment, but she took the pack offered by Tai Fa without argument before they headed down the ramp and onto the surface of Skor.

The wind whipped around then, as unpleasant as she had been expecting it to be, cold and full of sharp shards of sand.

"Lovely," she commented drily. "Not sure if I'd build a summer home here though."

Was.... was that a joke? It was hard to tell.

"Yeah..." the man responded. Interesting was one way to put it. Oddly enough, something felt off now about the area. As soon as the metal tube had made its way into Dax's hand something had changed. But he didn't quite know what. Calmer. That's what it was. The fear had lessened. He looked over to Anya, "Does jt feel different in here to you?" he asked. If Dax's theory was correct the woman would feel just as much fear as before. Maybe even more...

Before the woman could respond, a loud noise came from one of the other tunnels. "What the hell was that?" Drawing his slugthrower once more Dax approached the culprit tunnel.

Somewhere in Velok's Maw

The last dark cultist who'd been assailing her tripped as the ground turned slippery. The Seraph pressed her advantage and surged forward. His blood red blade was forced aside, then she drove the tip of her sabre into his throat. Then there was silence. The Eldorai breathed in, surveying the area ahead of her. She could hear noise coming from elsewhere. The sounds of battle were not exactly subtle. It seemed that others had the same idea as her and were drawn to this place like moths to a flame. This meant she'd have to slaughter less cultists.

Her eyes fell upon what seemed like a statue of Velok, a heathen idol his worshippers had erected to honour their dead icon. In the aftermath of the fight, ice had covered a good portion of it. Kaida had no use for religion in general, not even for the Eldorai faith. But this place had given her some clarity. Drawing upon the lessons Coryth Elaris had given her, she gently pulled upon the tangled web of power that was the Force, bending light and sound around her as she vanished from sight, proceeding onward into the depths of the vast cave structure.

The strong winds were actually a positive things in this instance.

Coupled with the sand, it generated a natural smoke screen that they could utilize in their attempt to infiltrate the facilities. It would be difficult to fly - or glide, but Lord Fa preferred to think of it as very graceful flying - but it would be manageable with the Force. His little feet ticked against the durasteel of the ramp as they exited the ship, behind them the ramp automatically disengaged again and closed off the shuttle.

A joke?

This surprised the Thirriken, because she had not seemed the type to joke. Outwardly there were no reactions of laughter, but within the Force there was a steady flow of amusement.

"It would ensure your privacy if you did." The Sith pointed out patiently, equally ambiguous in his joking. "Very well, let us proceed."

Followed by him filling out and following the path in his mind towards the salvage facilities. They would need to walk quite the distance in the end, across hills and tundra while the biting wind harassed them. Lord Fa, too, was wearing little goggles and protective gear made specifically for his body.

Tailor-fit for Thirrikens wasn't available in every shop sadly.

Soon - about ten minutes spend in mostly silence - they finally clawed their way up to a hill that gave them a look-out on the facility itself.

It didn't seem to be heavily secured, but sight could betray you.

No walls, but Lord Fa could see the AA batteries sneakily added to some of the roofs. If they had tried to make their approach directly they would have been shot out of the sky with no trouble.

"Interesting."

Stretched out flat on her stomach along the top of the hill, Kith propped her elbows on the ground and studied the compound beneath them. They kept a low profile as they observed.

"There," she said quietly, pointing out a series of tall, very slender poles spread out around the facility at fairly even intervals. She couldn't know if they would merely set off an alarm if someone moved between them, or if there would be some, far nastier surprise in store, but it seemed obvious that the invisible fence around their target was not merely there to bend in the wind.

"Due to the constant wind and moving debris, whatever the sensitivity on it is can't be too high," she said, glancing over at him. "We may be able to take advantage of that if we won't want to simply waltz in the front entrance."

She didn't see anyone moving around outside, though there was a guard booth on the road that led up to the facility- very likely the only opening in the fence. The dim form of a figure sat lazily inside. One guard. Of course, who needed more with AA batteries and high powered electrical fencing?

A smile ghosted over her lips.

Times always changed as they passed. So many times had Liliane looked outside the window, seeing the life around her change every single fraction of a second. People passed in these chaotic movements, they tried to move along their ways in life. There was no order, but chaos.
Everything tried to move back to its natural state, to entropy. Keeping order in the world was a difficult task; one that required energy, one that required willpower. And even to keep these people moving in the right ways, people had to do work -- to build roads and signs and lines and allies and streets and buildings and...
Lives were all kept in order through constant work. Yet there was no peace -- the more people tried to fight against the natural chaos, the more these people suffered and the restless they felt. It seemed as if it was a natural thing to rebel against what was happening. Just to ensure that there would be no order that bound people.
Because people didn't like to be bound. People liked to be free. Free in their worlds, in their chaos.
"It is right," the girl said as she looked once again into the eyes of her brother on the busy streets of Skor II. "Times have changed. It is time to move on."

Lord Fa eyed the fence and wondered for a while.

How far did it stretch out? Couldn't be too far and it certainly wouldn't encompass the entire site, because the power requirements for that would be ridiculous. No deflector shield either, so the approach from the air was relatively clear. If he managed to get enough altitude to bypass the fence, of course. Maybe the sensitivity wasn't too high, but it was probably high enough to fry her, if not him as well.

The idea of fried peacock did not seem very tasty to him.

"I can approach from the air." Tai brought up, eyes studying the fence. "Take out the guard from behind, giving you a clear approach to come through the front door."

It was risky either way - maybe they had more guards watching the front entrance. But at the end of the day every single approach was risky, all they could do was take one chance and just stick with it.

"Agreed?"

Hard winds were tugging at his thick black robes, but that would only give him more air to work with once he was up in the sky.

Gliding was a feat mastered.

"But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life."

Off-key singing continued as he approached the wrecks slowly, skirting along the edge of everything. Hand reached for controls while keeping an eye on floating wreckage. Spotlight flipped on and he slowly started to look around at what lay before him. The entire thing was a little spooky, something old salvagers would share with the youngsters to stay away from.

...And when I die, when I die alone, when I die I'll be on time....

Am I one of those 'old guys' now?He certainly wasn't getting any younger....Either way, he had a job to focus on. Spotlight only went so far and soon he was moving into the heart of the wreckage, durasteel scraping against his own ship despite the slow movement.

Radar was pinging on a few signatures but he couldn't tell at his point if it was old half-alive equipment in a capital ship or another salvager. His bet was on half-alive equipment considering the large vessels in the area.

Skor II Bazaar

While speaking with a business owner Ultimatum learned that setting up contacts with the Alliance would take a bit of leg work. The droid had come to the understanding that it would be nonetheless a standard business transaction. If Ultimatum were to expect aid monetary or otherwise, he would need to supply something in return. A minute issue, Ultimatum had need to put his factories to something handy.

It was not difficult to find directions to a facility nearby where he could speak with a representative to begin ironing out the details for a contract. The droid walked through the bazaar, taking note of the surroundings as he did so. There were a lot of organics, but Ultimatum doubted that that would affect him in the near future. Given that he did not anticipate any conflict, the collection of tactical data was little more than a reflex. It was a question of whether or not the information would ever be needed and because he was an artificial being intended for war he was used to planning for all variables.

At the moment he was considering the possibility of an ambush, implemented by insurgents aimed at destabilizing planetary governments within the Galactic Alliance in order to prepare the way for a First Order invasion. Being an easily identifiable ruler of Mustafar, a world already on the edge of the Alliance's border with the Order, made him an especially tantalizing target. A standard attack should have a sharpshooter or marksmen positioned on a roof or somewhere with easy sight of the target. They would also need people closer to Ultimatum should the first shot or two miss, for the sake of subtlety they would likely be armed with pistols or other easily concealable arms. Additionally they would require some form of escape route, there were a plethora of those around the Bazaar, but Ultimatum was betting on a pick-up vehicle, probably with an armed driver and a rifle toting passenger. If they knew anything about Ultimatum then the weapons would be ionic, making it a supposed threat to the droid, if they had intimate knowledge of his inner workings then they would know that such weapons were practically useless on him. At that point they would be using armor piercing rounds or something like that in the hopes of blasting through his armor.

The simulation in his head took a pause as the droid entered the building and began to speak with the receptionist.

Polis Massa

"Mam-"

"Sir! I'm your commanding officer. It is Sir." The Vanguard spat out indignantly, there was enough degradation with the job no need to allow further humiliation.

"Yes Sir. We have contacts on the salvage, organic. At least a dozen, hard to tell with all that metal."

Audrey wasted no time contemplating, she already knew what needed to be done. "Send assault squads in to clear out enemies and rescue civilians. Get a hard number on the targets and locations. Get to it." She liked where this was heading. What she needed was a good fight to break out the monotony of salvaging. She knew for a fact that Ultimatum would have agreed to the same course of action. While the high and mighty droid would no doubt have insisted otherwise, the two were quite similar. They both fought for some cause greater than themselves, even if one was insane.

maybe a tunnel collapse? I don't feel anything coming over from this tunnel...unless their hiding themselves

She nodded her agreement once he outlined the plan. While she might be able to approach from the front unseen, it was the avenue being observed. But if he could get in behind, well. Far less risk than the alternatives.

Kith eyed the height of the poles carefully. They were already at a bit of an advantage, height wise, on the rise. But an extra two meters up certainly wouldn't be remiss she calculated....

"Shall I throw you?"

There was no trace of a smile, no trace of irony or teasing on her face as she turned to regard him. If she were joking, she was deadpanning it to perfection.

Nope. She was serious.

Dax shrugged, as he neared the corner. Slugthrower at the ready Dax shot out from the corner, prepared to shoot the first thing that moved. But nothing was there. Just empty space and craggy walls. Slowly, pistol before himself, the man took careful steps forward, finger on the trigger. The Rogue expected that Anya was following behind him as he carefully moved down the tunnel. Another cross road of tunnels. "Feth...play is a blasted maze." he muttered as he looked at the two option before them. "Not sure I wanna split up..." the man said.

The twisting tunnels had made the man lose his sense of direction. He doubted they'd be able to find each other again if they split up. Further more, they needed to find a way back to their ships somehow. The thick stone walls were interfering with the ship's beacon. That meant no common rendevous point. One more problem to add to the list.

The Thirriken did not even bother studying her face.

In his mind it was a viable tactic - after all, he was a small figure with not a lot of weight behind it, that did not prevent him from being deadly effective in a battle. Perhaps that was why Lord Fa never seemed to be overly bothered about being surrounded by individuals who outclassed him in the weight and physical strength domains.

"Yes, please." Tai finally said, before sighing, shaking out his plumage a little bit and then securing the tiny goggles strapped to his head and keeping the howling wind at bay.

"At three if you will."

That would give Lord Fa the opportunity to properly get ready and make the most out of the 'launch'.

Everything from the angle, to the direction of the wind and the density of the wind would influence the glide. It was very important they made this perfect.

Red Cloud followed behind Dax as he proceeded further into the cave system. Leaving the blood stained room behind them. However, it seems that the path split into multiple paths up ahead. “Aren’t you a Jedi? Isn’t the force supposed to tell you which way to go?” he asked Dax, using his condescending tone to mask actual curiosity. He took a couple steps forward and ran his eyes across the tunnels before glancing back to Dax and whoever else was with them.

She picked him up once he was ready, her hands firm but gentle. He was actually lighter than she'd expected him to be, and she swiftly revised the force and trajectory she was going to need to supply to accomplish this. She would need to hurry once she stood- the two of them would be too clear against the sky if the guard or someone else was to look their way.

"One."

Kith stayed crouched for a moment, breathing in deeply. As always, she was hyper aware of the beating of her heart- in this moment, slow. Calm.

"Two...... Three."

Most of the power behind her throw was in her legs and hips as she surged upward, back foot pivoting as she slung him underhand. The goal was to get him the height he needed, taking the wind to their advantage as much as was possible in the situation. As soon as the feathered lightweight left her hands, she dropped back to the top of the rise, watching to make sure he landed safely.

If he didn't, well, she'd go back to the shuttle.

That would be uncomfortable to explain to [member="Ignus"] .
