HK
The droids possibly looked a lot like HK’s because there were only so many ways to do a skeletal droid. Besides, Necrons were cool. It did have to be remembered that they were 800 years behind on tech too.
Regardless, his observation about the big droid was noteworthy, it was a significant flaw.

Enyo
The whispers gave up at this point on Enyo Typhos. Probably they were preparing more glitter bombs. That’d show the traitor!
Her use of Mecha Deru and the autocannon was very effective, and soon droid pieces were scattered across the ground.

Aster
And so the bodyguard perished because the Princess had no place in this sort of situation. The Wolfsglaive took position, and his fire took down a couple of droids before a Gauss round caught him in the chest. Whether he would die or not was for Aster’s writer to decide. Would the Princess be responsible for all her guards dying?

Nima
Nima’s plan was smart. She was able to trick the machine into doing some of her work for her. However, one of the larger droids loomed up, trying to crush or blast her.

Vindica
His plan had taken him forward considerably.
You couldn’t save them. You have failed.
The voice was trying, one had to give it that. A rebel without a pause.

Vindica was now a good ways forward though, so when droids with energy staffs appeared, he would be one of the first in the firing line.

Caelag
The shot was aimed true, by luck or design, and struck the power core with a detonation.
The results on the other droids were less than devastating though. Several of the footmen were wiped out, but there was still a considerable amount fighting.

Those survivors directed a hail of fire at the hiding place, clearly perceiving her as a big threat.

Vaylin
The acolyte’s actions were enough to cause more of the droids to be targeted and fall.

Ylva
Though her bow succeeded in freezing the targets, a simple steel arrow would be completely ineffective. One would need a ballista bolt to cause enough kinetic impact to shatter the droids. However, the freezing was enough to disable smaller droids.

Cathul
Leaving aside the fact that gravity projectors do not, in fact, work like targeted vortexes, Therapy Command would find that single handedly closing in would be considerably more difficult than could be handwaved. Over 50,000m of ships remained, most of them destroyer or larger, so any single fleet approaching would face a lot of fire.

ALL from the Generator/Throne Room Group

What had gone wrong?

Onyx’s perception switched from the infinite void only slowly. The battle in the throneroom, the fleets and armies struggling, he did not regard them as true threats. They were here to die after all, and when the machine activated, all of them would die.

However, this was not meaningless destruction, no, it was revenge. Revenge on a galaxy which had turned on them, outcast them. The question was of course, was the revenge logical? Did the punishment fit the crime? After 850 years Onyx didn’t really know…or care.

The time for speeches was over. The droids were being wiped out, but they didn’t matter. All that mattered was his task completed, and the Incursion could begin.

Directing his attention back to the battle, he saw it was time. Time to rise and crush them himself. No traps. No glitter. No minions. Whatever happened, this day would end in something glorious.

He rose, still behind his energy shield, unfolding from the throne and base. Indeed he was the throne and base. A colossus fifteen feet high, clad in dark plating as tough as Beskar, filled with a malevolent Force presence, and now driven by a burning hatred of the organics before him.

Things had developed quickly. The spider droids had swarmed and had been promptly responded to by several of those present on the path to the generator. The droids just kept coming though, and the temperature was rising. Audren didn't know if it was due to the consistent explosions of the kamikaze bots or another factor, and it really didn't matter. If something wasn't done, the group - Jedi, Sith, and everyone else - would be overrun and destroyed, along with whatever The Machine would do.

From his perspective, there was no warning when the Foreman appeared. There had been, of course, he'd just been focused elsewhere. The heavy blast door was taken care of by others who were also facing off against the gigantic robot...leaving the Sephi to stand against the spiders. He wasn't alone however and was happy to do his part if the others were able to put an end to this madness. Yet that was not to be. The receding crashes of the being's steps could be heard - felt - as it retreated and a glance showed others following.

The Master would have done so immediately as well, but for the barrier. What he had taken as dust reformed itself into new droids that appeared as shields; check that, as laser dishes. The circles they formed spat bright light, no doubt harmful, at any motion. Others leaped over the impromptu turrets and formed into felinoid bots, darting at the intrusion team. With a brief moment of respite from the exploding spiders Audren launched a telekinetic attack at one of the felines, only to watch a portion of it deform as his burst went through it. After a second it was back to normal...but he was its focus now. It gathered for a pounce and was promptly blasted by one of the others, drawing its attention. Then the spiders were back.

Desperate times, desperate measures. The Jedi had avoided using this, it could grow exponentially. With his weapons being less broad-spectrum and more precise though he had little choice. A smidgen of concentration produced a spark, which detonated the container perched atop one of the arachnodroids as it was clambering out of the wall. That explosion created another, and that another, in an unplanned fratricide. It no doubt damaged the wall somewhat but the flame was drawn in towards Audren. Tight streamers of fire that twitched when close to another droid, detonating that and drawing in the flame. At the same time, the canisters that he'd been gathering from the spiders were hurled at the 'turrets' in a cluster. The streamers of fire reached out for those same turrets - for the canisters - and lost cohesion from a meter away. Fire and heat ripped forth in a controlled direction and consumed the canisters, which detonated in a very uncontrolled manner. Such happened right in his path to the door. Even if the impromptu flamethrower hadn't been enough to force the floating droids out of the way, the explosion would be.

He sprinted for the door.

Through a long and laser-straight tunnel he ran, only to find himself in a much larger room. While items here were metal, they looked almost organic. Floating platforms, a bright beam of light down the center, and much more that he did not have the time to pay attention to. The elfin Jedi was just in time to hear Jessica's shout about minding the gravity and his footing. He could see Kurayami making his way further in towards the Heart of the place from platform to platform. Other other member of Jessica's trio was burning jets after the Foreman. The Sephi had no jets, no computerized helm that could plot a safe path for him. All he had were his eyes, the Force, and his years spent running with nexu through the forests, of adapting on the fly. It would be enough.

Long blond hair streamed through the air as the Sephi hurled himself up from the platform. A split second's precognition showed that the onrushing platform's gravity was the reverse of what he'd launched from. He wouldn't alight on the edge and be able to continue, he would be hurled in an uncontrolled rush. So as he approached the edge he pushed off with one foot, using the 'downward' force to keep his momentum and the push to guide his path. The rushing wind, the quick calculations that had nothing to do with mathematics, the instantaneous changes that had to be made: he found the whole thing exhilarating. The grin on his face and glint in his eyes gave mute testament to that.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
HK decided to just keep broadcasting to outside journalists and news coverage that could have been watching over the battle, like [member="Julie Koven"] or [member="Fabian Stelar"], so they would have a direct transmission of first person perspective of the battle towards the center of the machine in the group's attempt to shut it down, as spotty as it was with the numerous interference fields HK would probably have to go through in the chaos of battle, although that was still better than just watching the battle from orbit. So yeah, anything the group in Throne Room did or said, there was a chance they could have seen in the transmission.

"That is the way to do it!"

The droid sounded out, congratulating [member="Caelag Vass"] as she managed to bring down the large centipede-like war droid, causing it to erupt out in brilliant explosion and take some of its brethren in the immediate area with it.

"This is it, their lines are starting to collapse,"

HK pointed out as he forced himself from behind his cover, reloading the two heavy magnetic revolvers, almost stumbling over from the force he propelled himself, hasty for more fighting,

"Try to disable or collapse down those turrets and larger war droids on top of them on the flanks! Keep the center open, we are meeting them in melee there, we will need a place to push through!"

The droid ordered/suggested to the sniper, if she managed to hear him while having to deal with the droid forces still shooting at them, hopefully other member of their party with significant ranged capabilities like [member="Enyo Typhos"] and her autocannon, [member="Ylva Solveig"] with her bow, and [member="Aster Rose Baelor"] with her soldiers.

"Once more into the breach!"

HK sounded out as he rushed forward, first running, then quickly sprinting, heading through the elaborate cathedral-like throne room towards the center of the enemy lines where others were already cutting through Incursion's forces. He moved so quickly, in fact, that his feet would suddenly lift off the ground as there was terrible whooshing noise of the jet systems built into his back activating with the fierce flapping of his black cloak as the droid flew towards his enemies. Mid flight he holstered one of his magnetic revolvers and picked up a Spear of Rae instead, activating the Phrik-tipped force pike as from his wrist twin barrels of a repeater built-in blaster poked out and he opened rapid fire on the fairly old models of enemy droid slaves. Bringing his other hand up he would manifest an Abregado Combat Shield, localized in front of him to act as a barrier against any energy shots that would be fired upon him as he closed down the distance, physical slugs from their gauss rifles would cause the shield to drone out as they passed through, managing to pierce it but slow down in the process, causing less damage even as they begun to embed themselves in various spots on HK's outer armored plates, causing cracks here and there in the chitinous protective layer.

Suddenly near [member="Vaylin"], [member="Vindica"], and [member="Nima Tann"] there would be a terrible crashing noise as the armored droid just charged and rammed his body into a group of enemy machines, causing a number of their mangled bodies and limbs at the impact to fly off in various directions, splattering oil from the brute fierce attacks as several more fell down and rolled on the ground like pins and a couple were suddenly lifted off of the ground, the droid's couched force pike pierced through them like a lance, right through the chest, and now two movement processing units adorned its Phrik tip, their oil and hydraulic fluid dripped down and sizzled on the electrified shard. HK still advanced further in a trot as his feet touched the ground once more and jets deactivated, slowing down quickly as swished the spear aside, forcing the droid bodies off of it from the movement but bringing it around once more as other machines closed in around him, using the electrified shaft of the weapon like a mace to smash their bodies with the blunt weapon and assault their circuitry with electricity, knowing now that they lacked protection against such attacks. Throughout his combat HK would spin and roll sometimes in fluid precise movement, apparently knowing a degree of martial arts, especially those favored by the Echani as he seemed to have no issue relying on speed and deliberate fatal strikes rather than brute strength. Although his skeletal body would clearly not be as frail or weak as it seemed, on multiple occasions others could probably see the droid move in front of one of the Incursion models and punch its chest with enough force to cave their metal rib cage in, his hand disappearing inside it before he smoothly pulled it out, clutching their power or processing units within it and discarding it onto the ground as if he just ripped out their cold droid hearts.

The sequence would conclude with HK finding one of the larger war droids, maybe the one that was now focused on trying to catch and kill Nima, and propelling himself up its side, with large Phrik claws extending out from his foot to dig into the other droid's hull and climb up quickly. When the droid would be on top he scanned the being and brought his heavy Magnetic Revolver down, aiming for the larger machine's processing and power units within before pulling the trigger and letting loose a burst of six shots. Hopefully his scanners and trackers would not fail him and the neuranium pellets fired by the droid's weapon would be enough to pierce the hull and wreck enough havoc on the machine's inner systems to shut it down in its tracks.

The annoying voices finally shut up. Instead, she saw a huge golem in the far distance. It looked big and imposing. It would take a lot of firepower to take the colossus down, but it was doable. One wondered how he'd managed to get into the room because that door was way too small. Very few things about the Contingency made sense. However, before Enyo could turn her mind to that, there were plenty of minions to deal with. Her autocannon roared, then she jumped just as a ruby beam lanced from the ceiling to pulverise the ground she was standing on.

Her hijacked turret continued putting Contingency spiders under fire, before it died in a magnificient explosion. Skeletal droids with energy staffs had appeared on the scene, more minions for the colossus to throw at them. Her HUD marked them and informed her that they were MagnaGuards. Each carried a double-ended weapon that conjured up an energy field impervious to lightsabres. They possessed absurd reflexes and highly sophisticated combat algorithms that enabled them to learn from experience and adapt their tactics accordingly. Furthermore, they were able to maintain combat functionality and fight on even after sustaining significant limb loss. They were also more than eight centuries old. This would be fun.

Her autocannon clicked when she pressed the trigger. The gun barrels had overheated. There was loud noise when the minigun dropped to the floor. In its place she drew her lightsabre. Electrostaffs cackling with energy whipped through the air towards her. Except she was already in motion, willing her body to haste. A MagnaGuard shifted with her and its staff weapon swept towards her...and remained frozen in place just a few millimetres from the faceplate of her phrik helmet.

The war droid struggled against the invisible grip that forced paralysis upon its arm. A beam of purple plasma lobbed its head off. As its head rolled to the floor, the MagnaGuard persisted in its attack, for its power core lay inside its chest. This Enyo knew, but it was easier to dispatch the droid when it could not see. Thus the machine violently - and more clumsily - swung its weapon. Enyo ducked beneath it, with the staff grazing her, and impaled the machine upon her weapon. Its power core sparked and screamed, then exploded on contact.

Once again she was in motion. A MagnaGuard hammered her with a series of blows. The hybrid dodged, parried and blocked, then she severed both legs of the droid below the knee. However, this was not the end of the bodyguard, for it whirled nimbly on one end of its electrostaff and used the stumps of its legs to thump Enyo so soundly the hybrid went down skidding before she came to a halt. Her leg lashed out in a thunderous kick towards the crippled bot, while a hidden mechanism in her palm opened to reveal a mini ion disruptor. Three bright flashes put down another MagnaGuard storming towards her.

Her premonition screamed inside her mind, when suddenly a rocket sailed through the air was blast and heat. The cyborg rolled, and her power exploded outward, pushing the warhead off course. There was a loud explosion and Enyo was showered in shrapnel and caught the tail end of the blast, but she pressed on. The MagnaGuard had loaded another rocket into the RPG, but a surge of mechu-deru assaulted it. Realising that the warhead was about to explode prematurely, the droid tossed the weapon away. She jumped when it was thrown towards her, and the droid activated its jets.

Smoke billowed up into the air as the rocket exploded. Her mechanical eyes and scanners followed the skeletal droid as it shot through the air. Her lightsabre cut blaster bolts out of the air as the MagnaGuard's wrist repeaters bombarded her. Others bounced off her armour. One got lucky and struck her joint. Her red eyes flashed for a moment behind her human irises and she simply blew up the droid's jets.

Then she had finally crossed the distance when it hit the ground with a loud thud. Sparks of electricity struck her as its staff weapon clashed with her sabre. But though electricity kissed her arm, she forced its weapon away. Her free hand slammed into the machine's chest with tremendous force and she tore into the bot's power core, tearing it apart. Her eyes fell upon the huge colossus. This looked like a good fight.

The Cap'n jumped from debris to debris. He shot his blaster at the droids heads, incinerating them in instance. Ancient tech, mass produced.
No match for his blaster. He blows on the barrel.

"Heh, I like this new blaster. Shame I can't use it all the time."

He then proceeds to shoot some more advanced droids. He first shoots the weapons, disabling them, then blows their computers to smithereens.
No mercy.
Not because they were droids. Sure, he wasn't the king of droid rights, but he knew they were thinking things. No, he destroyed them because they
were destroying the galaxy.
Even a pirate has to help then.

"So, who now?" The captain says, addressing HK-36. He seemed the best leader here, and droids know droids the best, he supposed.

Causstik got ready to counter the Jedi’s swing, but it was a faint. It caught the T’doshok of guard and he reared back quickly, but not quite quick enough to save his eight gauge. It was cleaved in two, he discarded the useless weapon and roared in frustration at this girl’s unwillingness to die. He simply wanted to devour her corpse. To claim her lightsabers for the Scorekeeper. To rend her flesh from her bones. So. Why. Wouldn’t. She. Die? Her willingness to live was admirable, but it would not stop the cannibalistic monstrosity before her. The sight of blood caused Causstik senses to over load. His tongue flicked the air hungrily and slobber poured from his jowls freely. His normally yellow pupil dilated and his eye began to turn bloodshot red. His armor flexed and bulged beneath his weight as it grew and he dropped to all fours.

Muscles writhed and scaly skin was stretched to the limit. Causstik’s form began to shed and he scratched his face with taloned fingers, large pile of scales came loose, clinging to his head by a smidgen of flesh. “You should run little one,” he growled as the leather of his armor seemed to snap and break. It clung loosely to his new behemoth of a form and revealed multiple weak spots. But, even so the Trandoshans new found strength would be devastating should he connect a blow. A tail had begun to form at the small of his back and small nubs of horns seemed to protrude from the right side of his face. The sith spawn went berserk.

“GRAGH!” Causstik snarled, foam and spittle spewing from his mouth. He charged again with superhuman speed. Phrik claws raised and at the crescendo of his run he fainted a jab, while almost simultaneously bringing his other hand upwards in a uppercut seeking to cleave the young Padawan’s head in twain.

The Foreman reached his goal. A column ran from the ground to some point far above. It wasn't even possible to see where it ended. It was almost twenty meters wide and as the Foreman reached the base he started walking up it. Gravity was warped again and no matter where he went on the column 'down' seemed to keep him attached to it.

One of the machines that maintained the place followed him as he found the conduit he had been working on. This wasn't ready yet, but Onyx was pressing in with matters he didn't understand.

They seemed to watch him work but not interfere. This entire structure was strange, even to the Foreman who didn't even notice aesthetics. Each level was different as if it had been built by entirely separate cultures over a long time.

Those that followed him would find the world melting away. For a fraction of a second they were in the same machine but in different place. Perhaps just a different time. Everything was dark. The surfaces covered by detritus and organic matter.

And then they were back. Machines made of clouds of micro machines approached them and then changed form into a variety of shapes and attacked.

Those in the fleet battle on a bridge with windows might notice something strange.

One by one the stars were winking out.

Then, regardless of where they were in their vessels, they would be shrouded in absolute darkness. It lasted just a second before everything returned to normal. The stars were back. Stations would report that there had been no power failures, no system failures.

Light had just left for an instant.

Disney's Princess
Jess followed [member="The Foreman"] up a long conduit road.

Well... More like, she jumped headlong through a vast corridor of micro-gravity anomalies with the Force and slammed headlong into it. Prostrating herself. Landing like a thunderbolt into the midnight sky. Embracing the downs and the ups. Embracing the highs and lows. Becoming one with the twisting nature of this everlasting dungeon. Kneeling now. Shaking her head in frightful disgust at the wild jumping puzzle and sudden leaping orgasms that had lead her here. Indeed. Herself and others too. This mess of an adventure was far from over yet.

"Well. That was special." She smiled.

Dusting herself off again and standing up straight now. She sighed. If up was straight and down was less backward. No other way to go but forward, I guess. Mm. Jess looked "up" the long corridor pathway before them. Twenty meters wide and divided into strange eras of timeless construction. Basking and swimming in wave after wave of time distorting phenomenon. A cascading feast of mind-bending shockwaves that could black out the stars and cause the whole world to disappear into a void of organic hallucinations. If only for the briefest of moments.

Trippy was putting it mildly.

Then. There were the bright clouds. Oh yes. The bright swirling clouds of malevolent madness. Micro-machine guardians that took the shapes of exotic animals and towering eight-legged abominations. Cute. But definitely not her style. She'd skip this party if she could help it. Bleh.

"More robot swarms? Goodness! Does this madness never end!? Yuck."

Mmm. A question for another time perhaps.

* * *
Onward and upward. Sideways and beyond. Using the Force, Jess froze her brilliant opponents solid. Then BLAST! ...She sent them reeling out into the darkness of space with a fist of telekinetic force. Smiling gleefully. As their twisting swarming animations discovered the wraith and power of her omnipotent religion. Almost laughing really. One might even begin to wonder if Jessica was beginning to have some fun?

But no. Crying out to her companions once more, she shouted with grandest passions incensed;

"Push forward! What lies among the top is most important fire of us all!"

  • Throne Room
    The Machine, Contingency Facility

Kainan Wolfe was not a man who played by the rules. When presented with the obvious traps that were the control room and generator facility, the warlord decided to ignore the two routes and instead created his own path by carving up a door in a wall. He and his followers had then crawled through the guts of the Machine.

Whether by his skills, plain luck, or a combination of these, he somehow made his way through the guts of the massive, incomprehensible Machine, leading his companions through maintenance shafts, air vents and the superstructure, enduring through the headaches and the voices induced by the oil. It was just more pain, nothing that he wasn't already used to. How he did it, didn't matter. Somehow, he had found the throne room, or rather, a maintenance shaft that neighbored it. Hearing the sounds of the battle ensuing in the adjacent room, even through the wakk, he motioned for his two followers to stop.

A crackling black blade came to life and sliced through a panel in one of the side walls, like a hot knife through butter. Drawing a roughly rectangular shape, the blade of the lightsaber carved a makeshift door where there previously was none, creating an entrance for the man who wielded the blade, and for his companions. "Razel. Formorta. Keep a loose formation and whatever you do, don't stop moving. Give those Sithspit as hard a target as you can manage. Weapons free, you may fire at will," he instructed.

The cut panel fell to the floor with a loud clang and the warlord entered the ornate throne room, slugthrower rifle held in his left hand and firing at the remaining hostile droids. Using the rifle one-handed wasn't something that he did to show off, however. Wolfe used his free hand to throw a grenade towards the spider droids, just as the ammunition from his slugthrower rifle finally ran out. Discarding the now useless weapon, Wolfe drew his lightsaber and ignited it once more, the black blade crackling and sputtering due to the inherent instability of the synthetic Kyber crystal which lived at the heart of Wolfe's Shrouded Blade.

It all boiled down to this moment, the culmination of the struggle against the Contingency. It seemed ages since Wolfe's first encounter with the group, back on Far Harbor. None of that mattered now, however. The warlord advanced on one of the remaining droids, lightsaber held extended in an aggressive Makashi stance. He advanced in silence, for this was not the time for words and speeches. This was a time of action and it was proper that only the sounds of weapons clashing be the means of communication between the disparate group and the Contingency. Wolfe dodged the spider droid's attack, then lashed out at it with a series of swift slashes. This was only an interlude, however, a last obstacle to overcome before the group could face their nemesis, the leader of this Contingency, who towered above them as he advanced.

Brought back to reality by [member="Ylva Solveig"]'s voice, Aster watched as a round pierced one of her two remaining bodyguard's chest. "No," she cried as she watched the man fall. "Riou," she called to her last uninjured guard. "Keep the droids at bay while I tend to him," she ordered and began to unpack items from her first aid kit.

"No," the injured Wolfsglaive said pushing Aster away as he struggled to stand up, blood trailing down his breastplate. "I am a... liability now so... let me be. If... if I die today, I... die with honor," the man groaned and grabbed his blaster. "Riou... take the princess and... leave this place. We cannot... allow the vice commander to... die in vain."

"Understood," Riou nodded, grabbed the teenager, throwing her over his shoulders, then ran towards the hallway they had come from.

Ignoring the sound of the princess' protests behind him, the injured Wolfsglaive removed an ion grenade from his belt, pulled the pin and threw it, his hands shaking the entire time, and fired on any droids he may have felled with it, emptying his weapon. Knowing he would probably never leave this room, he was determined to push himself to the limit. He had always wanted to die a worthwhile death so now was his chance.

"Kark you," he yelled as he grabbed a droid near him, attempting to immobilize it was the floor lit up beneath his feet. His time had come to an end.

Vaylin continued to cut swathes of the skeletal droids, their weapons proving ineffective when the had Sith, Jedi and Forcers in general up close. Some managed to draw their melee weapons, but they were quickly cut down. The Zabrak in particular was taking advantage of her speed, moving around her targets like a dance. Lightsaber swinging, severing arms and legs, taking a few heads even with the occasional bisection across the droids' chassis. The group's combined effort was gradually pushing them closer and closer to the throne at the far end.

Although the Contingency was continuing to throw more and more of their fodder into their path. The larger units hadn't the numbers to keep up, but they were simply support for the bulk of their forces. Providing annoyances for those trying to cut their way through them.

Then the sounds of two metal objects smashing into each other, filled Vaylin's ears. She looked over to see [member="HK-36"] had rammed into a group of the enemy. The Zabrak would've paused to watch in part amusement and amazement as he just used his body as a battering ram. It was an odd sight to see, a machine tearing into other machines; especially given the nature of the group they were fighting.

Soon though, one of the larger enemies was moving towards [member="Nima Tann"]. Vaylin went to intercept, but paused when the HK droid took it upon himself. Instead, the Zabrak turned her attention to another, one of the spider-like machines that was readying its weapons to fire towards the trio. Vaylin threw her hand out, sending the Force cascading towards it. The blunt attack did nothing other than diverting its attention solely to the Zabrak. She darted forwards, bringing her second lightsaber back to her hand. The annihilator droid attempted to get a bead on her, but Vaylin was darting back and forth, occasionally taking out a skeletal droid along the way.

Once she was close enough, Vaylin pulled the Force beneath her feet and used it to leap up high and slam into the drone that was currently 'piloting' the larger machine. Her red blades pierced through the droid's chassis, killing it. But the spider continued to function despite the controller dying. She felt her skin crawl as the laser above loomed over her again. Planting her feet against the hull, Vaylin leaped off it as the blast came firing down. It stuck the annihilator just as its shield activated, overloading it. With that system completely fried, Vaylin leaped atop it once again, this time focusing on trying to take out a couple of its legs with her lightsabers.

Objective: Kill Droids, Kill the Chair

You can't save them

As the magnaguards came the words echoed in his mind, twisting to avoid each blow he tried to shut it out, shut out that it was right. Marcus had never saved anyone, he couldn't save his family, he couldn't save that boy in the dungeons, he couldn't even save himself, and the guilt was becoming nigh all consuming, and that was before the thought of those he'd victimized even crossed into his thoughts. Suddenly one of the staffs made it through his guard, a jolt of electricity and a heavy bruising followed as one end connected with his midsection. The beskar stopped the worst of it, but it still caused him to stagger long enough for another strike to meet his chest, and then his head.

Before a finishing blow could be loosed, Vindica let out a primal roar, batting away his assailants weapon, paying no mind to the blood trickling down his head as he flew forward and impaled the droid, then halved it with a swift maneuver. Turning to the others he caught the onslaught of strikes, countering with vicious efficiency and cutting down the automatons. He lifted one with the force and hurled it into another with enough force to take them both apart.

Glancing back to see [member="Aster Rose Baelor"]'s Wolfsglaive make another selfless sacrafice whilst another carried her away, he cursed at himself. It had been right, he couldn't save them. But perhaps he could avenge them, he'd always been good at all that. Letting out a torrent of lightning into the automatons, the once-Sith Lord unleashed a torrent of electrcity, decidedly away from [member="HK-36"] as the droid plowed through the enemy.

In an instant he turned his eyes to the colossus as it stood there, rage and hatred radiating off of it. It would fail, they always failed in the end, ones driven by hatred alone, their zealotry was oft their downfall, and this would be no different. Marcus would see to that.

Why were the Wolfsglaive so inept, or at the least too determined to die? Caelag shook her head as she watched another life become snuffed out. If the Emperor ever let her speak to him personally she'd have more than a few words about the frequency of their self sacrifice and the inefficiencies this caused. But, that was for the future. For now she had to focus on becoming the star attraction to a good chunk of the droids swarming and firing on her location. It was good that they did so, it meant they were smart enough to recognize the threat before them. It almost made her want to laugh.

Actually it did make her laugh, and her annunciator made sure everyone and everything could hear her. HK wanted her to collapse their turrets and war droids on them, a sound decision even if it would funnel them at their ultimate target. Even so, the turrets and war droids had to go, and were next on her hit list even without the guidance. She was a sniper, she was the scalpel to HK's hammer in this fight. He smashed the front, and she cut free the bigger targets. That's how it was meant to be.

Then again she was also under heavy fire, which only made her have to plan first the angle of each shot as well as her path through the chaos. Not that the challenge was too much, she could see everything going on after all, but it was going to be a pain if the droids were as quick to adapt as they were to fall. Fortunately through the chaos a new figure entered, the man she'd berated for trying to circumvent the system earlier. Look how that turned out! He arrived late.

Still, it provided a new target, which granted her the brief reprieve she needed. Turning out of cover, Caelag immediately fired another round from her rifle at a turret, the barrel flying skyward as she moved towards another piece of cover to her right, leveling to fire a second shot just as she entered cover. Seven more, she listened to the hail of fire, before popping up to loose another shot, steadying for another, then another, all aimed at the larger droids or turrets still standing. She could feel the danger building as she dove from cover again, aiming as she came to her knees and fireing again.

Three shots, who to target, who to target... She lifted it again, and fired two of the remaining shots before taking cover yet again. The last shot had to count, after all she had only ten per pack, and fifty total. She calmly reached down to her ammo pouch and... Kark! "Sir Droid I have a situation. I'm on the last shot of this clip and the spares are missing. There appears to be a hole in the pack around my belt, they're probably somewhere between me and my first cover location. So unless you or someone else has something compatible with this weapon I'm going to save the shot for now." After that, she slung the weapon over her back, safety on, and drew her standard issue rifle (her 'secondary' weapon).

With that, she began to give proper covering fire for the group, still looking even as she helped the fight for the spare blaster packs she dropped somewhere.

Nima Tann

Master of Her Own Destiny
Nima's plan was successful, however it wasn't the end of their problems as there were still too many. It was then she sensed danger coming her way... from behind! Before she could act though, [member="HK-36"] launched towards the large droid, taking a few smaller ones out in the way as well. The Zabrak girl, [member="Vaylin"], rushed to take care of the spider-like droid meanwhile Nima enhanced herself with the Force and started running towards the smaller skeletal droids that remained in the area. The bolts flied right next to her as she picked up speed and jumped, swung her lightsaber and cut one of the droids in half just before she landed, and then launched once again, aiming for the droids' weak spots as she regained her balance.

Then suddenly, a different kind of droid appeared, which seemed to be carrying an electrostaff. Not a second after its appearance, it suddenly jumped and launched an attack, which Nima blocked with her lightsaber. She realised with each attack, it was getting faster, so she jumped back to rethink her strategy. According to how it reacted to her attacks, it seemed that it was trying to protect its chest area, which could be a weak spot. But keeping its weapon away from the chest was the problem. So she launched once again, enhancing herself with more speed. It could be strong, but Nima had the speed. It was going to give her a chance to strike eventually if she kept the offense going.

And so she did. Right, left, right, left. From an outsider perspective, it was hard to keep track of her moves. But it could also be said for the opposite team too. The droid kept blocking her attacks, but after each attack she could sense that she was getting closer to her goal. And suddenly, the droid made a mistake and opened its arms far enough for Nima to strike its chest, but before she could do that, its knuckles opened suddenly, and from them it unleashed blaster bolts. Nima immediately jumped back to protect herself from the bolts, creating a small barrier. Sucking the energy out of the bolts, she then unleashed the energy back to the droid. And then boom. Suddenly she felt pain in her shoulder, as one of the lucky shots from a skeletal droid's weapon hit the joint. She sent a Force wave to push it away from her since she had something else to deal with, but then she felt another pain, this time coming from her chest.

The Magnaguard hit her as she lost concentration, and with the pain she dropped her lightsaber. Before another hit struck though, she jumped back to get away from certain death. This didn't look good... And as if the fate was against her today, she fell into one of the holes that the big laser beam opened. Talk about backaches... The droid moved towards the hole, and it seemed eager to finish the job. Ego. A human's one of the worst traits. But today it was going to save her life, hopefully, as the droid dropped its defenses around its chest. Nima concentrated on her lightsaber and activated it via the Force, then aiming for the droid's chest, she made it fly, gaining speed each second.

Assembled in this room was ten formidable warriors (and Aster!), and they worked together well against the droid horde.

As Enyo dealt with magnaguards, HK and Nima drove into their ranks. Vaylin and Vindica worked to destroy opposition, a teamup none of them likely would have expected before today. This combined with Caelag’s fire was decisive.

Soon all the droids were destroyed or damaged to insignificance.

All except one.

The energy shield protecting Onyx flickered and went down. This was no accident though. From the chest a wide arc of energy, wide enough to fill most of the room blasted forth. When it hit the mirrored floor it pulsed along like a wave, striking anything in its path.

Those in its path would need to jump over the wave, move to hide behind the side colonnades or have some means to block the attack. This attack was electrical in nature, being like a Master level blast of Sith lightning.

Those facing Onyx would not have long to retaliate before the shield would raise again. They would need to hit hard before the shield raised, or find a way to destroy the shield.

Tempest

Storm of the Force
[member="Nima Tann"] [member="Enyo Typhos"]

Whilst the others had been fighting droids, Tempest had not been idle. She had entered the fray beside Enyo and helped deal with another of the magna guards through the medium of lightning.

Now she was faced by the giant monster droid blasting them with the same. Swiftly, she moved to Nima and took position in front of her.
“Get ready! Boost my shield!”

Lightning was her element, but when it hit, the power was still overwhelming. Trying to tank it, even with her powers, her armour and Nima’s help was not easy, but she was able to shield herself and the Twi’lek from harm.

However, such was the amount of energy she had used to defend them that she had to forgo a chance to strike back – that was left for Nima.

She did look around to see how the familiar presence had fared. She had a good idea who it was…but no time for that now.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
[member="Tempest"],

"Tempest you better not be idle whilst we are fighting these droids!"

HK called out to the woman as the large spider droid he climbed upon to protect [member="Nima Tann"] went limp and collapsed, turning over loosely, shut down, as HK slid down its side smoothly back to the solid ground. It was around that point that Onyx shut down its shields and moved into a counterattack, conjuring its wave of electricity to loom over towards them like a tsunami of lightning,

"Aim for the support joints of its limbs, bring it down! We are almost done!"

The droid would call out to others, [member="Caelag Vass"], although the news of her lack of ammo he could only acknowledge with a nod, her fire support so far was more or less crucial, but even the droid was not sure whether the giant machine before them would be the last fight they had to wage or not, [member="Enyo Typhos"], [member="Vindica"], [member="Vaylin"], [member="Ylva Solveig"], [member="Kainan Wolfe"], even [member="Aster Rose Baelor"] and her remaining Wolfsglaive soldiers could be just what they needed to save the day. As intimidating as the war machine Onyx was controlling was, HK knew that without its limbs, skewered down to the ground, it would be fairly defenseless against them.

So as the droid came to face the wave of electricity coming towards them, clutching his spear, he had two choices on how to face it. He could have just levitated himself over it, whether propelled by his built-in repulsorlifts in a grand jump and then kept up there with these systems, or just taking off with a jetpack, or the second option was to not be a coward and face the attack head on, use its power against Onyx, and show the Contingency and those around him while they should not underestimate the capabilities of a free droid.

And so HK lifted his Spear of Rae and took off charging once more, sprinting straight for the Electric Pulse sent off by Onyx. His eyes were fixed on the large form before him, scanning the massive droid body and cross-referencing it with the pattern of its shield flickering, hoping that he would be able to calculate the precise location of Onyx's shield generators, for if the rest of his team would succeed in bringing the large droid down, or delivering a quick and lethal strike, they would need a wider opening than that presented before them. So when the electric pulse finally hit him HK would not falter and he would not stop, a blue shield would appear around him instead, with a crackle and a sizzle the massive amounts of electricity would dance around him, siphoned and funneled by the shield towards his power core.

The droid knew he was more or less safe to face the attack for he was armed with a built-in Abregado Combat Shield, a special deflector unit designed by himself which neutralized and absorbed ionic and electrical attacks especially. However it was not without faults, as one sure way even Force lightning could still present itself as a thread was when too much of it was absorbed by the systems at once, causing it to short out and force into a reboot, or in very extreme cases, such as this, just straight up explode his power unit by pushing it to critical amounts of power contained. So, others, should they care to watch the droid as he lead the charge, or thought he did anyway, against the massive mechanical beast, would see that the crimson glow of his eyes would exponentially begun to glow brighter and brighter, becoming a bloody dark shade of red as same happened to the shield which manifested itself around him, its glow growing in intensity as it seemed to break laws of reality at any minute and become a physical sapphire shell around the machine.

To deal with it and save himself from his body exploding from within HK had to burn a lot of energy and burn it fast, so as soon as he passed through the lightning pulse he would pick up on speed, pushing his mechanical muscles to the limit as he overclocked them, channeling extra energy into them and his scanners as he quickly plotted a course. As he ran then, his arms would raise, one clutching the spear, the other outstretched taking aim towards Onyx's chest, winding himself up as suddenly the droid would stop and use the newly acquired massive boost of energy to propel his Spear of Rae forward. HK would shoot the Phrik-tipped long graphite polearm like a javelin forward, throwing it with all the strength his now augmented body possessed and had to get rid off, aiming for what he predicted from his calculations, scans, and brief observation of Onyx's protective shield shutting down to be the location of his deflector unit. If successful the javelin would, hopefully, embed itself deep within Onyx's body, piercing right through the shield unit and buying them a larger opening to act.

After his attack HK would press his arms on either side of his body and slam the legs together as the jet unit on his back activated once more and he shot out like a rocket, deciding to use his flight systems to try and burn through the rest of his excess energy acquired from going through the pulse as he quickly picked up on speed. The droid would direct himself towards Onyx on a direct course to ram into the massive droid's chest plate, just bellow his head if Onyx's form did had a head, scanning the giant war machine mid-flight. HK's plan was to hopefully ram into Onyx before his shield re-activated, if his javelin attack would fail that is, as he searched and scanned for Onyx's main power or processing unit or, as he suspected by now, a crystal controlling the body. If he could find either of those things, when rammed into the larger metal body and beneath the shields, or with shields deactivated, the fight hopefully would not last much longer.

The hard part would probably be finding the major systems HK was looking for and then getting through layers of armor. By the way, this whole time he was still broadcasting out what he was seeing out into the orbit, or at least trying to the best that he could, for any reporters to pick up and use the transmission for their report on the situation, hopefully while singing praises of the droid.
