It is when they base it off of the mideval bastard sword when before star wars was nearly all origional. Not saying all change is bad but when its based off of already made things then its not as creative. As far as my knowlage goes lightsaber (or related swords) went used really anywhere before lucus made them in star wars. but the design it has now isn't purely from the imagination anymore.
[member="Sakon Xarabia"] Considering the origional lightsabers were based off the katana, you know the featureless hilt and simple blade astetic.

There are light-whips, clubs, axes and a plethora of other not simple lightsaber designs in the EU. So someone added some cross guards, that doesn't mean anything really. We can debate it to worlds end but it doesn't change any other lightsaber design. It still has focus crystal, powersource etc. It just has two more focusing points, most likely made out of saber resistent material.

I'm pretty sure they're not because Lucasfilm stated they're not.

Creative executive Pablo Hidalgo confirmed it at a QA in April.

That's posted a good handful post back. But apparently you don't pay attention to interviews.

Disney and George Lucas HAVE INDEED informed bioware that TOR and KOTOR WILL REMAIN CANNON

Well, I do, because I cited one where they said it wasn't.

Got a source for your one though?

Given that SWTOR is not called canon in any official timeline and r/starwars universally refers to as not being canon is sufficient enough for me to know it is not.

[member="Selena Halcyon"] [member="Isamu Baelor"] I think he may have misread the article. With the EU going away and games being cancelled I think they said to Biware that TOR wasn't going to just end and they could continue making content just like pre EU wipe.

[member="Matsu Ike"] Chances are you're right, but he called me out. A month after I made that post, he called me out, purely to prove me wrong. So now I want to see it.

Well then they screwed themselves, cuz Bane is canon, rule of two is canon, and Bane did not create the rule of two, Revan did. Bane just formed it and made it true. So if Old Republic ain't canon neither was rule of two

Darth Bane and the Rule of Two were made canon in the Clone Wars animated TV series (2008 - 2014).
