WHY!

I know its not actually being done. I'm just saying it could be one of the options too. Its mostly a poll on how people would be on a complete reset, but there could be some variations to how you do it too I mean.

I voted "I love you, marry me". That said,

*saves all subs to hard drive and readies them for instant resubmission*

Alright! Fire away! :D :p

Here's the thing. I can, too. But it's to the point that attaining Master rank isn't all that hard. We hand people the ability, to, well, kill with a thought.

NFUs get a very short stick here. Elsewhere, we shan't name names, at least there was a balance because even NFUs had rankings in equal terms. Here, nope. You get what you're given at the outset, maybe a nod because of time in position, and then all those force-users get the ability to wreck anything and everything whereas you've gained nothing measurable and with no added perks other than the same tech that, sadly, a Force-user can access - and in some cases FUs can even make better.

That said, yes, you can out-think them - but I shouldn't have to be a Mensa genius to go toe to toe with a Force-user. But, you do. it's sad. It sucks. It shouldn't be that way. But that's just how it is. And I don't exactly think that's right.

I voted marry me, but that was only because of his force thread thingy.

Though if we do do a reset, can we have a formula for starships like the 2.0 version as I preferred that type

You'd think the solution is moderation, but no. It's no longer possible. I'd rather level the playing field with a reset.
Lastly, I believe you - and anyone who believes this to be a viable solution - are wrong.

We're not doing a bad job at moderating.

We're not doing a bad job at creating tech.

We're doing a bad job at educating each other.

Force powers, technology - none of this is the problem. It's been said time and time again. It's the players and their lack of restraint. Just because something is there - say, a force power with the ability to make blood coagulate - doesn't mean you should use it. Anyone who were to use that on a non-force user of mine doesn't strike me as a powerful Force user - they strike me as a bad writer.

The Expanded Universe is ripe with werewolves, unicorns, and all sorts of silly shenanigans. It's a ton easier to educate ourselves on restraint than it is to actually practice banning all of this stuff from a Staff perspective.

But how do you treat these people who do these things? Most of us shun them, make fun of them, report them. There's very little education that exchanges hands, because we'd all rather the problem fixes itself rather than actively taking charge.

Just going to say that if anyone ever posts doing damage to my character that I will report said behavior if PMing them does not reach a conclusion.

That's how I deal with people who think they're force Gods. And yes, I've been treated in a similar fashion by a master my first month here before I was familiar with how the rules worked, and soon afterward I found out that I probably shouldn't have let every single nerve in my body get pushed in on without me posting it having been that way.

People get caught up in powers and don't realize that there is a line that a writer shouldn't cross, but this is neither the poll nor the time to discuss the issue with people writing well above perceived limits with either the force or with technology.

This needs to be pondered by more people.

I'd support a capital ship reset to original trilogy standards. I've always hated 800-gun star destroyer standards set by power creep in the Expanded Universe. ISD Mark I and Home One both had the equivalent of about 180 guns.
Don't forget 200m frigates with 50-100 fighters!

[member="Raziel"] they are over lapped on the outside of the ship, and have a rotation system so they can all be tendered to.

why not put section of factory under activity check at a time, and pm the owners of the item to if it can be scrapped. if no reply with in 1 week or something then bye bye to the item/s. that way each item will be checked (slowly) and it's controlled sure it will take time but no angry people and masses of approvals needed.

I think it would help weed out all the odd tech made before some of the new rules and guides. theres a lot of super old unde rpowered ships out there.
