For all new rebels, about to take their first steps... (GA dominion of Lothal)

Nubica Felidae

We are well and truly forked...
sabine_by_corvusraaf-d9n2wcr.jpg

A thousand thousand worlds sparkled in the night sky above the capital city of Lothal.

Nubica found the view breathtaking as she scaled the city wall. The galaxy's Outer Rim was such a big place. So many planets, so many stars. All teeming with mysteries and diverse species.

And she was giggling like a schoolgirl. She was dressed in Mando armour. It was a bad idea to decide to have her first drink tonight of all nights. The night before the Alliance were due to land. But she could never step away from a dare. And so here she was, a homage of sorts in her mind as she paid the price for gambling for forfeits.

She wanted to visit every planet. She wanted to have a thousand thousand adventures on those thousand thousand worlds. She wanted everyone to be free to travel across the stars. That was impossible with the One Sith and First Order in the galaxy. They did everything they could to limit personal freedom, including suppressing creative talent.

No one was going to squash Nubica.

She giggled again. Must be the night air.

Hard clack-clacks echoed in the street below. Nubica recognized that sound immediately. The local police. She tightened her grip and leaned close against the wall she climbed. She must remain unseen. That was the dare.

Right as the police turned toward the wall, Nubica climbed over the ledge. She laid her body flat along the top and waited. One heartbeat. Two heartbeats. Three... The sounds of boots echoed again on the pavement and started to fade. They were marching away. Nubica was safe — for the moment.

“On course," Nubica whispered into her mic.

One of the GA pilot’s voices came over her helmet comlink. "Proceed."

"Copy that," said Nubica. "This is going to be fun." She pushed herself up to stand atop the wall. "Very fun."

On the other side of the wall lay the former Academy for Young Imperials. She landed lightly, almost silently, on the tarmac. She took a moment to survey the airfield. No guards. The place was deserted and empty.

She reached the main doors and removed the airbrush from her belt and shook the attached canister. Then she pressed down on a nozzle and called on her rudimentary talents. Nubica began to paint. The old rebels insignia. As she finished, now doubled in a giggling fit, she felt the earth move. It was no explosion, but an earthquake. Local too. Too local.

She ran from the compound before the earth opened up beneath her feet.

Objectives below:

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 150-POST DOMINION

Following a conversation with [member="Coren Starchaser"] and [member="Aram Kalast"] of the First Order (cue much booing and hissing and thrown popcorn), we have agreed the following objectives:

Objective one: Recover the kyber crystal

Kyber crystals were rare, Force-attuned crystals that grew in nature and were found on scattered planets across the galaxy – including Lothal.

They were used by the Jedi and the Sith in the construction of their lightsabers. There were also larger, rarer crystals of great power and that, according to legends, were used at the heart of ancient superweapons by the Sith.

The crystals concentrated energy in a unique manner and were attuned to the Force, resonating with it.

"Long ago in forgotten times, when the Sith and Jedi fought for control of the galaxy, weapons there were, of unimaginable power. Always at their heart, a kyber crystal was."
―Yoda

During ancient wars between the Jedi and the Sith, in which both sides fought for control over the galaxy, superweapons were created by the Sith that were powered by giant kyber crystals. Although these stories were considered legends, a giant kyber crystal was discovered on Utapau during the Clone Wars. The Jedi were able to destroy the crystal, though Yoda was concerned that Darth Sidious would discover another giant kyber crystal in order to construct another superweapon.

After the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire, Sidious constructed the Death Star, a battle station capable of destroying entire planets. Kyber crystals were used as part of the Death Star's superlaser and the Empire continued to search for new crystals five years before the Battle of Yavin. One such crystal was located by the rebels from Lothal, who discovered its location and destroyed it. The destruction produced a large shockwave, destroying everything in its path.

Kylo Ren's lightsaber used a cracked kyber crystal, which generated more power. The excess power was vented out the sides, thus creating the crossguard design he is known for.

The most important and prestigious vessels of the First Order had weapons upgraded with kyber crystals from some secret source in the Unknown Regions.

Of course legends are passed down from generation to generation, and sometimes they are just stories. But recent activity by The Jedi Order and the First Order on the planet Lothal uncovered one truth – the giant kyber crystal of lore was a reality. And where there’s one, there may be another. So both sides invested time and energy into seeking the whole truth. No Bothans died bringing the information to the Alliance’s hands – but it’s fair to say they were pleased to find the location of such a giant crystal. But less pleased to understand the First Order had too.

So...in a distant cave, a research team looking to number the protected sub-species of Lothal-bat that lived in the mountains to the south of the planet stumbled across it. Inaccessible and with no clear place to land a ship for five kilometres, it would be a foot race to the site. And no doubt a fist-fight once reached. To the victor, the spoils.

[So, a PvP objective. Look to keep numbers even and remember, the winner of this objective gets to keep the giant crystal :)]

Objective two: Secure the Academy

The former Academy for Young Imperials was based in the Capital City and near a ten-kilometre field in the Easthills. It housed and educated recruits for the Imperial Army. Quite simply, it trained stormtroopers.

It had fallen into disrepair and was stripped of anything of note. But a recent small earthquake had opened up a previously unknown subterranean level. The Academy’s vaults.

Who knows what secrets they hold? Prototype weapons? Data? Special training programmes? The location of a giant kyber crystal? Rare droids?

[PvP or PvE. More of a free for all]

Objective Three: Rebuild the Junior Academy of Applied Sciences

The former Junior Academy of Applied Sciences, commonly referred to as "Junior AppSci", was an academy in Lothal's Capital City. But it had fallen into disrepair since the reign of the Galactic Empire several years before the Battle of Yavin. The school was renown for its grav-ball, chin-bret, and track and field events. In addition, Junior AppSci was used by the Academy for Young Imperials to recruit prospective Imperial cadets.

Why not help rebuild the old Academy, back to its former glory and turn it into a place to recruit Young Alliance cadets?

Build the infrastructure? Recruit staff? Go on a recruitment drive for students? Hold an open day for allcomers to look around? Meet a new Padawan or recruit new troopers or pilots here (or meet a new Master or CO here of course)?

[A non-violent and more social thread]

Objective Four: Find yourself a kyber crystal

There are many places on Lothal that the crystals can be found. If you are looking to build a saber, or swap out your existing crystal, where better to look? And kyber crystals are colourless when found. They change colour when a saber is crafted - so come in all hues, including Sith crimson!

Objective Five: Stop the crime lord that’s currently shaking down the local farmers

Rumour has it a local crime-lord is running a protection racket. He’s hired in plenty of muscle and it needs some kindly folks to end his oppressive regime.

Objective Six: Do your own thing

Always an alternative...pig-tails are optional!

"Crystals? Why do crystals interest me, my friend?" Jules pushed another glass of booze to the off-duty stormtrooper. Drunk soldiers were always juicy with information.

"B'kush, man, they's Kibur Cryssals... Them speshul super kind Kilorun usshed back in d'ol' dayssh.... mmmm...." the stormtrooper fell out of his chair and started snoring.

Jules draped a napkin over the human man's head and slid out of his own seat. He tossed a credit chip to the barkeep and slung his hat on his head. He tipped the broad brim to the passing waitress and exited the establishment stage right. He heard engines whine and looked up to see X-Wings glide overhead. His eyebrows raised in appreciation of the starfighters; but he knew these were military fighters. Something was up, so it was in hi best interests to get a move on. The young human went around back behind the bar and straddled his swoop. He fumbled in his coat and pulled out a badly scrawled note from the drunk trooper. He turned it sideways, upside-down, and finally back to right-side-up in trying to understand it. If he was right, it was pointing to a lake a few kilometres away from the city. And under that lake was supposed to be a cave with some of these crystals. There was supposed to be a big one but that would attract more attention than Crux liked to pull to himself.

He opened a saddle compartment, pulled out is helmet, deposited his hat, put on the helmet, and fired up the engine. Jules tucked away the note and pulled the bike around to the roads, then shot off in the direction he hoped the note was pointing. If not, well, he'd be searching for awhile.

Objective 1: Secure the giant kyber crystal
Location: Heading towards the discovery site
Allies: None currently, Jedi Order and GA in general
Enemies: None currently, but First Order in general

Equipment: Lightsaber Second Lightsaber Third Lightsaber (yes they are necessary!) Robes

The Galactic Alliance was due to arrive soon to secure Lothal in their space, something Taeli didn't mind at all. The Jedi Order and its temple were rather secure ... but Lothal was still full of surprises. One such surprise had caught her attention and she was quickly making her way there. A large kyber crystal had been found, the sort that was rumored to power ancient superweapons of the Sith during by gone wars with the Jedi. Studying and securing it were her goal, but she had feeling they weren't the only ones trying to secure. An old name had surfaced from the past, the First Order.

They would make things ... difficult if they arrived, but Taeli was confident in her abilities and hoped she wouldn't be the only Jedi at the site. Still, she thought as she walked through the rugged terrain, it was going to be challenge regardless moving this thing.

The swoop was never meant to go off-road. The repulsors were too fine-tuned, the stabiliser fins were not used to the stress, and just overall the vehicle was not happy with its owner. Jules knew she could take it, so he ignored the shaking and held on tight. He saw a lake in the near distance reflecting sparkles of light at him, so he slowed the swoop down and pulled the vehicle to stop a fair distance away. He swapped out his helmet for his hat and grabbed a torch. He flicked it on with a soft click-click, and looked over the note again. He held the scrap up to the scene before him.

"Close enough..." Crux muttered to himself, and clicked the torch off. He dismounted the swoop and walked the rest of the distance to the lake shore. His eyes swept in both directions and he frowned, clicked the light back on, and stared at his paper. What the frak was he supposed to do now? He started a path along the lake shore. This cave was apparently underwater, but had a 'secret entrance' near the shore. Or so a drunk stormtrooper said.

Objective 5
Allies: Team Light Side
Enemies: Team Dark Side

Peyton Steele had seen what was going on. The Alliance was making a move, a very, very smart move. It’d keep them in striking distance of the First Order, to keep them under their eyes, and to unite the New Jedi Order and the Jedi Order of the Republic. This was very good for the galaxy, and she was happy to support it. The blonde made her way down to Lothal, and upon arrival, spoke to friendly sources there. Apparently there was a bit of crime going on.

A lord was working on shaking down locals, it seemed. Terrific. The blonde was training a new recruit, a possible field agent, and this would be a cake walk. Stepping away from her ship, the one with stealth systems, she nodded to her new partner, short hair, green eyes, fit. Core world, if Peyton remembered properly.

“So, we need to find this guy, first. That’ll mean barking up the right trees. You ready?”

The junior agent nodded. “Used to do this all the time on Coruscant, with the Defense Force. Local law keepers first?”

Peyton nodded.

The transport ship rocked as the ship slowly made it's descent onto Lothal. The ship landed with a thud and the hatch opened. Inside were all ten of the pysco squad known as the 11th Incinerator squad and at the front was their leader, the most pyscotic of them all, Major Sibar Laval. "Alright men. I want this to be clean, only fight if nessacary. I don't want any of the possible artifacts destroyed unless absolutely nessacary." "Really Major? I thought you wouldn't hesistate to kill soldiers of the Galactic Alliance. Even if some artifacts were involved." Sibar turned his head to the incinerator that spoke and laughed. Sibar just kept laughing untill he suddenly slugged the incinerator. "THESE AREN'T 'SOME ARTIFACTS JAX! THESE ARE RELICS OF THE EMPIRE OF OLD!" The incinerator named Jax almost collapsed when he was slugged. Once he regained his stance he spoke again. "Yes....major. I understand. Sorry." Sibar sighed and turned back to face the exit. He started to walk down the ramp of the transport. "Now. Let's take back what's rightfully ours boys."

The dark wedge of the First Order Star Destroyer blocked the stars approaching Lothal. It had been the second time in recent memory that the ever present naval force had come to this system, the last was a disaster in stealth and had led to a retreat that had allowed the Alliance to claim a foothold over the planet.
This time it wouldn’t be so…

First Order Intelligence had garnered information that something had been discovered in the depths of Lothal, a giant crystal that could be used as a means of focus for energy. Naturally it only made sense for the First Order to claim such a prize, after all with it they could do a great many things. The call had been given and now the attack force was en-route.

The AAL’s had departed as scheduled accompanied by the command shuttle that Belis currently was sat within alongside the two pilots that shared the duties of controlling the shuttle. The Knight of Ren had taken to his usual attire and was preparing himself for what was to come. He knew that if the First Order were aware of the crystal then so would the Jedi and the Alliance.

As the shuttle dropped into atmosphere with the wave of AAL’s on it’s tail the alert was placed that they would land away from the actual discovery site as the transports would unable to carry on down into the caves which held the Crystal.

“I want us as close as we can be to that entrance Commander.” Belis said through his helmet, his voice distorted by the modulation device attached.

“Of course sir.”

Along with the appropriate amount of troops, Sabena approached the Academy. The sight of a transport ship descending on the Academy confirmed the Alliance’s suspicions - that the First Order had an interest in the planet.

Better not be the 11th,” muttered Sabena under her breath. Repute of incinerator squads easily spreads as fast as their fires do.

The Jedi’s approach was from the ground - heading straight toward the ruined entrance of the Academy. How she would tackle the issue of the First Order squad depended on where [member="Sibar Laval"]’s ship landed - and how he would react to extra company.

"Are you absolutely sure?" Thanewulf inquired, leaning in to see the display on the datapad of one of the members of the research team. The expedition leader, an Ithorian xenobiologist by the name Bonca had somewhat of a mild distaste towards the Jedi. He wasn't too pleased his project was to be halted because some rare crystal was found in the very same cave where he intended to study the reproductive cycle of the rare Lothal-bat. For all he cared, glowstick wielding maniacs could all go to hell. He grumbled in several different languages before dragging himself towards Tionne. His black orbs studied her, trying to categorize the woman. Was she a Jedi?

Thankfully, nothing in the way Tionne was dressed or the way she behaved disclosed she was part of any Force-practicing cult. Her Force signature was standarly supressed well below sensory levels of vast majority of dark-siders. A simple dirty white, thin anorak jacket and a pair of tight-fitted grey trousers coupled with climbing boots completed the outfit fitted to the task at hand. Her lightsaber was concealed on the inside of her jacked, far from sight. The Hapan looked no different than other members of Bonca's team.

"See for yourself." the Ithorian said upon snatching the datapad from his colleague and passing it to Tionne. On the display, the largest kyber crystal human eyes set upon in a millenium, growing out from solid rock. The crystal column was at three meters tall.
"Extraordinary." voiced the redhead, then looked at the map of the cave system scientists had charted - "No other way in but here? You said its right in the middle of the cavern system, with no other way but on foot?"

Even before Bonca could reply, the comm in Tionne's ear buzzed. She tapped it instantly, opening a channel with Alliance forces that amassed above the planet.
"Thanewulf, come in."
Ginger brow furrowed at the mention of First Order. How the frell did they know?

"Send in a ship to pick up Professor Bonca and his team by the cave entrance. Immediately."
The Ithorian wasn't planning on going anywhere.
"My work here is not done!" he half-shouted in Ithorese, then took a step back to side with his team. Tionne was not familiar by the language, but she could sense him opposing the idea of being evacuated.
"Look, there is a First Order vessel approaching at supersonic speed. And they are not interested in mating rituals of your dear bats! You will board the Alliance ship the very moment it lands and be transferred to a safe location."

Tionne leaned in just a notch, making sure it was not a request, but a command.
"Understood?"
She took the datapad and waved towards the Jedi Master who already intended to enter the cave. Thanewulf ran towards her, showing her the map of the cavern system which was quite the maze. One could easily get lost.

"Master Raaf, the map." said the Hapan upon catching up, flashing Taeli the map of the underground. The research team already installed a flourescent light system in place, the violet hues least disturbing to Lothal-bats sensitive eyes.
"The crystal is monstrious. We'll need to cut it out from stone using lightsabers together and lower it onto a hover-raft." The plan sounded simple enough.
"Also, First Order is on our tail. Single vessel, for now, heading this way." the redhead added casually, before noticing her comm going offline. No signal penetrated these rocks apparently. They were on their own.

OOC:
First Order shuttle will arrive before Alliance ship to evacuate the scientists. This gives [member="Belis Ren"] something to do. You know, kills 5-6 unassuming researchers and extract the map from someone's mind, Kylo Ren style. No need to thank me. I love you too, Sam.

[member="Taeli Raaf"] led and Dune Ruhr followed. As an apprentice Jedi, such had been his lot. He had zero objections to this. Masters of the Order were interesting beings, full of knowledge. His own mentor had encouraged him to accompany Master Raaf on her expedition for the kaiburr crystal.

The crystal was a source of great power, he knew. The Bith was excited at the possibility of studying this powerful artifact. He also knew danger might come at any time. Taeli had warned him that the Dark Siders of the First Order were sure to follow at the heels of the Galactic Alliance. The Knights of Ren, she'd said, an old nemesis would surely plague them.

Ben understood that The Jedi Order no longer was directly connected to the Galactic Republic, but he still had a hangup about the Alliance sending expeditions into the system out of which the Order operated. True, Lothal was far from Republic space, but Ben had personal ties to the Republic, having been born on Coruscant--the capital system--before that planet had been taken by the One Sith. The Council had made it clear, however, that the Alliance did not represent a threat to the Jedi Order, and that the discovery of a powerful kyber crystal--the event which had brought the Alliance in the first place--would draw The First Order to Lothal behind them. For the Jedi, the First Order were immediately associated with the Dark Side of the Force. The Alliance was not the enemy here, that much Ben knew.

Currently, he and Dune Rhur, a Bith padawan and friend of Ben's from the Temple, were following behind Master Taeli Raaf on their way to assist in securing the crystal. Master Raaf was sister to Corvus Raaf, Grandmaster of the Order and Ben's Jedi mentor. While Ben had great respect for the younger Master Raaf, his interactions with the elder had been few and far between. He had known her to be a highly intelligent Jedi scholar, something Ben admired greatly, but that was the only impression he had made of the Council member in all of his years with the Jedi Order. Ben had no knowledge of the woman's complicated and tortured past with the Sith. Surely, this Master Raaf would prove just as interesting an instructor as his Master Raaf.

Personally, Ben was most interested in seeing the powerful artifact for himself. Force-sensitive objects had become of particular interest to the young Jedi after his experiences in the crystal caverns on Ilum. For now, Ben and Dune stood a ways behind Master Raaf as she conversed with an Ithorian and Hapan over a map. Ben was interested to know what was going on, but would await direct orders from Taeli. The red haired woman with whom she was conversing seemed authoritative, and Ben didn't want to get in the way. When things got messy, he tried to know his place. From where Ben was standing, it sounded like trouble was on the horizon for all the Jedi at the site. The crystal was apparently within the vast cave network to which Taeli had led the group, there seemed to be some dispute as to whether or not the party should enter the maze of caves.

With this red-haired Alliance Jedi clearly calling a good deal of the shots in this operation, it helped Ben's self-consciousness to have a familiar face with him in the young Bith, Dune Rhur. While Ben and Dune had known each other only a short time, they had shared enough experiences at least to be comfortable in one another's presence. Whether or not they were friends may depend on who you asked--Ben could never really tell if the Bith found the young human rather off-putting. As they awaited instructions, Ben whispered to his fellow padawan.

"So, you think we're going to have to defend our homeworld from some Sith by the end of this?"

"Just lovely," Taeli sighed as she came to a stop with the two Padawans and as the Hapan Knight ran up to her. She had just wanted to quietly research the crystal within and secure it for the good guys ... of course the bad guys had to come along and ruin things. Closing her eyes, she breathed deeply and reached out with her senses in the Force.

"They have a few troop carriers behind the shuttle," she said, opening her eyes. "We can limit their numbers advantage by moving directly into the caves. I hope you all are ready for this, Padawans Rhur, Corscifine, head to the crystal and secure it. Do what Knight Thanewulf suggested and use your lightsabers to cut the stone out of place. It will be heavy so work together to get that crystal onto the hover raft and away from the First Order. Here..."

She handed each Padawan a secure comlink from the satchel on her shoulder.

"Keep those on you and if you need help, let either myself or Knight Thanewulf know immediately. No need for heroics here. Off you go."

With that said, she shrugged off her satchel and placed it in the corner of the small passageway down into the caves.

"If this is the only way in, it will be up to us to hold them at bay until everything is read," she said, slipping her overrobe off to give her freedom of movement and revealing the two hand guarded saber hilts on her belt.

"You have to be kidding me." the Hapan said, shaking her head in disbelief - "You are letting a couple of padawans with limited proficiency in saberwork and telekinesis fiddle with the most precious item in the known galaxy?"
When Tionne spoke about teamwork, she was more thinking along the line of Taeli and her severing the crystal from bedrock and then using the Force to lower it onto a hover-raft. While the Jedi did not doubt the talent of Raaf's apprentices, it would be unwise to let anyone who isn't at home with a lightsaber to even go near the crystal.

"It's useless if it cracks." the redhead added, then handed out the datapad with map of undeground cavern system to the Bith and the human - "You know this better than I do."

Her attention then shifted to the padawans who seemed somewhat confused by the mission at hand. Tionne cracked a half-smile, then pushed both of them deeper into the cave system. There was just enough light inside to discern faces, the endless maze of tunnels illuminated by special violer florescent lighting installed by researchers a few weeks before. All the two of them needed to do is to follow the map.

"What your Master thinks is the following; just go find the crystal and secure it. And for the love of the Force, don't touch it. Remember, you break it, you pay it." the Hapan said to Corfiscine and Rhur, before she checked the watch.

"Where is that ship? I want to get these people out of here." Professor Bonca and his team began making their way down the mountainside, not wanting to wait for the Alliance's transport.
Thanewulf took note of Raaf's impending loss of garbs. The outright eagerness of the Republic she did not miss.

"Better for them to think one Jedi awaits, rather than two." the redhead commented briefly, her Force signature still intangible. Her eyes were on the misty sky above, looking to spot the first sign of Order's shuttle.

She was a Jedi of action for sure, but that didn’t mean she ignored the spoken word. Sometimes things sat with her for hours or days before she fully reflected on them — but reflect she did.

So the advice that Master Marcello gave to her back on Yavin IV had resonated in a way she understood — but was unsure how to act upon. Her crystal was a fine crystal. But it wasn’t hers. It worked well, but the seed of doubt had been planted. One she found…one that called to her…that would work even better.

She’d done the research and figured there were two or three places she could pick one up. And the Force would tell her where…and when.

So when the call came to ship out to Lothal, and she happened to be checking the power cell of her saber at the same time? She saw that as a sign.

So…slightly hung-over and most definitely sheepish, she headed out to the speeder she’d been allocated and checked the map. The mountains that housed the caves that apparently housed the kyber crystals were a few klicks away.

She started up the engine and wished they came in a quieter version. She was most certainly never, ever going to drink ever again. Never.

So she straddled the seat and headed off in the direction indicated. It was bound to be deserted. Surely?

Lothal -- woot woot! Lilin had heard it was a fun world and that the Jedi Order had some kind of an academy or an outpost on it. Yet when the time came when the Galactic Alliance headed towards it, she really understood what the planet was.

It was one of the planets between the newly formed First Order and the Galactic Alliance, which of course troubled both of these factions. The Alliance didn't want it to fall into the hands of the First Order, but the latter really wished it to happen. Now there was supposedly some kind of a conflict.

As Lilin wasn't actually meant to be there, she wouldn't take on the most difficult and aggressive of the missions and had instead decided to take on a defensive role at protecting the Academy.

She marched towards the Academy, noticing there was already a First Order ship. And a bunch of Jedi, one of whom she had already met before briefly. She was Sabena Shai, a Jedi Knight, if she remembered correctly.

"Didn't expect to meet you here," she said as she reached the group of the Jedi.

Coren Starchaser was doing his rounds, as he was wont do, between Alliance bases and future locations. He was leading his personal strike team, a small, but plucky, gathering of Alliance – former and current – men and women who were looking to do a bit more against the forces that were harming the galaxy, Underground members, and anyone who had a head on their shoulders, could fly a ship, or shoot a blaster and had a hate-on for the Sith. The First Order, well, they were something else to Coren. They were traitors.

The First Order was not what the Empire should be. He knew what the Empire should be. It wasn’t always violent warfare. It was a firm policing unit, but you didn’t need to wipe everything. Palpatine had it wrong, the mythical Thrawn had it right. Follow that? And you can’t go wrong. Stray from that, and well, you needed to reconsider your approach. But he wasn’t here to argue that, not with them. The pilot was flying down in his X-Wing, the navy and gunmetal one, ahead of one of a few Nebulon B9s that his strike force had.

Black market wares and a few specialty items. He knew that [member="Corvus Raaf"] was Corellisi, so, there were a few things from the homeworld, or at least refugees who ran after the Sith started landing their own brand of justice on the world. “Oh come on!” the rather annoyed grumble from the Lorrdian ex Yum Bunny would echo from within the hood of her airspeeder. Flashlight glinting back and forth with her motions.

Here she was, with a broked down airspeeder in the middle of the Lothal countryside with only Bobo for company and this wily piece of bantha fodder as a vehicle.

“Work with me baby,” she gave another series of jerks, cheek smeared in grease, hands just as dirty, and her pert denim rump high up in the air in indignation. Bobo, her bestest friend in the ‘verse, took to a sun warming perch just along to Kaile’s right, his black beady eyes peering up at her and back to the engine with what one could only call supportive empathy.

Smoke still billowed from the airspeeder like some ewok smoke signal fire, prompting a cough or two from the woman as she fought tooth and nail with the engine.

"...OFF!!!" caught Jules' attention.

He had walked about a quarter of the way around the lake and was wondering if he was getting any closer to the 'secret' entrance to the crystal caves, when a female yell echoed through the area. The puckish gentleman that he was, Crux couldn't resist the call of a potential damsel in distress. He changed direction and followed a less-beaten path away from the mountain-shrouded lake, between some rocks and toward the sounds of coughing. A light in the moderate distance caught his attention, so he figured he'd test the waters before getting any closer.

"Hey, over there!" he called out, "Anyone stranded!?" his voice traveled far enough to hear, he hoped. He wasn't going to strain his vocal cords to be noticed. He just hoped he wouldn't get shot. That would be bad.

Glancing toward [member="Lilin Imperieuse"], Sabena told her, “Just trying to help where I can~

Then, Sabena looked back toward the Academy. She pointed at the First Order transport that landed near it.

First Order’s already here,” Sabena informed Lilin, “I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re after the artifacts inside as well.

The Alliance’s group at the Academy had yet to have hostile contact with the First Order squad commanded by [member="Sibar Laval"]. Yet, Sabena’s hand drifted toward one of her lightsabers. She had a bad feeling about this.

Dune felt a bit befuddled as he and Ben were herded into the mouth of the cave system. "I know how to read a map, Master Jedi," the Bith replied to Tionne "And the importance of the crystal. Ben and I will be successful." He made a short bow to both her and Taeli. "We will be in contact when we have secured our objective, Master Raaf."

He turned to Ben who had whispered a question as the two Jedi turned their attention towards the First Order. "We might have to. I don't think they will give up easily." His reply was sober and serious, He looked down at the pad and pointed out their location. "We've got a ways to go so let's begin." He suited his own words by starting off down the tunnels, Ben beside him.

The illumination was hardly adequate to see more than two meters in front of them. It made for slow going and the tunnels were somewhat cramped. It wasn't the most comfortable set of conditions, he reflected, but such was life. Unfortunately, the First Order wasn't going to see the error or their ways and leave. They certainly couldn't be allowed to access such power.
