At this point was a friendly ritual between the two of them.

Every time they met he'd extend his wing in a 'shake' and she would shake it, trying to hide how she was actually petting the soft feathers in a gesture of affection. Perhaps it was because of the Mechis affair and how much it had helped her get through the thing, conditioning could be a strong force of nature.

There were few people he had any true affection for, but Saffron was one of them, strangely enough.

Perhaps it was because of their similar interests in botanica, poetry and meditation, maybe simply because she was a pleasant person who understood how to properly convey respect.

"That is good to hear.
I have been very well, yes.
Business is booming."
"How about yourself?"

With a small grunt, Myra managed to squeeze herself into the wetsuit. A small glance down and she gave a woeful sigh. Could they be even MORE flatter?! It was a rather pitiful sight. A twist and grunt and the young girl attempted to at the very least, tuck things a bit better. Nope, not even a bit of clevage.

i give up.

A quick, frustrated zip brought the zipper just over her chest. She'll be able to zip up the rest later. For now, she had to at least do what she'd seen Makai do before. Wax her board.

She bought a rental. Teyr was already a Tourist Hotspot, one of the very reasons why her ma wanted to open up a trade center and biodome here. They were also talking to the trade council about replacing old, higher emission energy plants on the planet with new sustainable ones. Dark Energy was a big thing going on with Mara Tibx, and her ma's team managed to harness it to be compatible to typical hyperdrive and anti matter levels. They were constantly looking at increasing energy output, but they still had to do it withing safety standards.

A small buzz, then the familiar sing song musical beep that indicated Makai Dashiell had sent her a message caught Myra's attention. With a small squeel of glee, she plopped her butt down on the sand and picked up her NexChek messenger.

[ Hey Ellie, on Teyr. Rumor has it your Ma is too, what about you? We're at the Rift doing some research. Maybe we can meet up for dinner if you're on planet? ]

Oh so he WAS on Teyr! Okay, this was good.

[ Maybe! You gonna get me something to eat? ] she quickly typed back. Okay... that, that was good. Not too forward.

A sudden back space had her edit it.

[ [Maybe! You gonna get me something to eat Makai Dashiell? ]

Okay, now THAT sounds normal.

Losing an arm should have left him traumatised. Perhaps unable to ever face a battlefield again. Perhaps it was something in the blood. His father had taken endless punishment and he had suffered for it, mentally, yet he had kept returning to the fight.

Trextan almost felt more calm now the battle had begun. The closest trooper came at him. Trextan brought up his artificial arm and a lightshield blossomed outwards from the forearm to cover him. When he was within a few paces he crossed the rest of the space with a bound. Even a gentle tap from his robotic arm knocked the trooper out of the fray. Several of the devaronian troopers in deep reds and browns appeared.

With a snap-hiss he drew his lightsaber. The violet blade took up a defensive position and caught three blaster bolts in quick succession.

"For the doors!" He called. "We have to get inside before they seal it."

Blue Team

"Blue team! Red team! We are moving on the bunker now!"

Audren and Jak - the Rodian - froze momentarily as they heard the call come over their earpieces. A question formed in the scaled being's mind as he glanced at the Sephi, but there was no vocalization. With a subvocalized growl, the Sephi flicked his fingers at the nearest sensor bank, the one between them and the entrance, then stood and began walking. This was sloppy, the almost-panic in the voice of Green indicated they probably hadn't even interrupted the comms. The small bit of Force power that he directed at the sensors would likely knock them out of commission for a few seconds; it was a trick he'd heard others speak of though he'd never tried it personally.

The guard there was no slouch, as soon as he saw the two forms approaching from the darkness his hand darted towards the button for external lights. Except it never got there as a thread of Force power redirected it to one side and a second slammed the Devorian's head into the wall, knocking him unconscious. A third tripped the switch to open the door and allowed the two to simply walk in. The Rodian immediately turned to the control panel and slipped a device into the wiring. The door was shut, and now the four of them were the only ones with the key. The soldiers were now locked in there with them.

"Blue Team acknowledges. Estimated four minutes to clear bunker 3."

Laziness was fantastic. So long as the doors were all open like it was rumored, four minutes would be a cake walk. If they were closed and locked it would take a bit longer, but not significantly so once Ny joined them. Or he could just use his lightsaber, though that would ruin some of the facility that he would prefer to leave intact. Jak pulled the first grenade from the bandolier of flash-bangs, and Audren had a stun baton and pistol in hand. Time to go room to room.

"That is good too hear, Lord Fa." Saffron replied. The Thirriken gave an incline of his head, and Saffron could not help but admire his majestic plumage. With a welcoming gesture, Lord Fa beckoned for the Companion to make herself comfortable. Grateful, Saffron ambled alongside him, attentive to the Feng Shui of the chamber's layout. It was all so very lovely.

"Well, we have been making strides with Bota. It is our sincere wish that perhaps within two months time, we may have a viable bota plant once again with us." the Bota plant had long since been extinct. However, PharmaTech research and developers had conducted a series of surveys and searches, and had been able to discoverseveral Bota seeds frozen in time within the hardened resin of amber.

Bota was not the only botanical they were intending to coax into a sustainable species, but it was the highlight for now.

"How about you?"

Adema did not believe that this was a good idea, however, as she had been commanded to do so, she would execute it. It would take some time before reinforcements could arrive, but it appeared that the Companion had other plans.

"Adema," Noire began.

[ Yes, Miss Vanya Tal? ]

"Take us towards the Great Seal. Have us land. Perhaps we can be of use."

It was a Companion's duty to attempt to smooth things over by any means. However, this could very well be a dangerous act for Noire and her safety.

[ As you wish. ]

Research vessel lurched with a large wave and the sound of some equipment scattering across deck could be heard.A large group of Mon Calamarians were currently running the technical equipment keeping the deep-sea submersible going. Makai was still watching the ocean depths as technicians dove down back into the depths.

He'd probably have to go back down soon and stop lounging around on break. Comm buzzed and chimed once more with a response from Ellie.

Get her something to eat? Wasn't the point of dinner to eat? Makai was certain at this point girls were of an entirely different, alien species sent to torture him with double meanings and coconut smelling hair.

[ Dinner and eating go hand-in-hand. Name the place and where I can pick you up. ]

Lights cast an eerie glow across rocks at the bottom of the Teyr Rift. Submersible powered its way through the water, disturbing the few creatures that called the harsh environment home. A second submersible was only a short distance away, drilling a probe into the base of a thermal vent.

"High tech rock collecting" Judah joked with the technician piloting the sub. A geologist and oceanographer were on board as well, informing Salacia technicians of which rocks and samples to take. There had been ideas of using thermal vents and those were being tested as well. Trace elements, metals, compounds, no stone was remaining unturned in the search.

Ocean planets had been consulted, but Teyr was in a central location.

Well, so much for being normal. Myra's face scrunched up at the messages sent back to her from the younger Dashiell. Her lips pursed and puffed out in a half, embarrassed pout followed by a swath of annoyance.

The sound of seagulls and crashing waves permeated the scene. Her toes dug into the warm sand, and the gangly brunette furiously began typing back.

As she was wont to do.

[ I know you eat at dinner! That's not what I meant! ] she quickly tapped out. Ugh, Makai could be so DENSE! Or maybe, Myra had seen one too many Holo Film' rom coms.

[ What are you doing?] okay quick change of pace.

Bota?

It was a familiar name to be sure, but for some reason the Thirriken couldn't quite put his wing on what it was again. A plant, of course, otherwise PharmaTech wouldn't have been involved with it in the first place. The restoration of an extinct plant species was always a commendable effort, Lord Fa truly believed this; perhaps because of his connection to nature and its splendors.

You could not drift amidst the jungles and vales by the air currents, if it was all karked to hell and back by industrial waste, after all.
"That's interesting.
How have you accomplished this?
Restore it, I mean."
Lord Fa inquired politely, but with some interest.

Perhaps there was an avenue where he could be of assistance to her, but he would need more details, before he could suggest a course of action. There were some Arkanian scientists who had started working with his company recently, they were mostly dealing with genetics and the sort. So, there could be an area where their expertises overlapped.

"Occupied mostly.
Alderaan's fresh secession.
It shifts dynamics."

"I have grown involved.
Restoring Humbarine now.
Quite intensive, yes."

"Seeds." Saffron replied, quite enthused, if subtlety so, over the prospect. "We found Bota seeds encased in amber." the blonde continued, explaining the process.

"Viable. As there were precious few, we selected the most viable and took to mapping out the genetic code. Cloning, to a degree." she elaborated. For a clone like herself, she knew exactly what that meant. "However, there is a need of genetic diversity which we are still hoping to expand."

Her eyes grew a little wider. "Restoring, Humbarine?" she sat down upon a chaise that the Lord offer her, immediately adding, "oh, would you like for me to serve you some tea?"

As the Companion served them both tea, mint fresh herbal for him, Fa sighed contently as the aroma weaved itself gently through the room and arrived by him. It put him in a good mood - one which had been rare ever since this whole Devaron mess started out, first you have to contend yourself with stupid Imperials who thought they were the center of the Galaxy because they could call upon a single Star Destroyer, then a rebellion raises itself in the shadows. Forcing you to pick a side, before the radicals can swallow you whole.

"Seeds? How fascinating. I have recently acquired a share in an Arkanian cloning company." Lord Fa piped up again over the warm cup of tea. This was the first time that she would experience the Thirriken breaking the soft, rhythmic cadence of his haiku.

No explanation was given why, but perhaps Saffron could come to a conclusion on her own.

"I could provide some measure of assistance, if you wish?"

From there Tai took a sip from his cup and smiled, inclining his head in approval of the tea served. It was quite tasty and it was a rare thing indeed, when he was sated from tea made by others.

"Mmhm. It used to be an industrial powerhouse... the entire sector devastated by years of war and the Gulag." He explained patiently, before putting his cup down and weaving his wings into each other and readjusting his position on the comfortable seat. "The last scions of House Humbar have sadly failed the sector and I have been attempting to guide them away from ruin, towards prosperity."

A sad smile was offered.

"Not an easy proposition."

"Whadda you have to offer?" Thel asked while turning around towards the woman who'd caught his attention. He eyed her -- looked like a stereotypical pilot woman. She was a teenager at most, wearing navy blue trousers and brown leather boots, as well as a black jacket. Her hair was short, making her look more like a boy than a girl.

"I can give you whatever you need. A ship? Sure. I just have one condition," the teenager said.

"Condition? Wow, what a lot of ego you have," Thel laughed sarcastically. However, he really needed that ship, so he was willing to hear out what the girl wanted. "What is it you want?"

"I want you to help me in a smuggling operation. I just need to get a little bit of stuff from this planet to another. Sound OK to you?"

"What's the planet?"

She was unfortunately surprised by the sudden appearance of all these droid forces, led by the Iron Protector himself. Her insurgent allies were screaming over their communications about the situation as the plan fell apart from the sudden appearance of those droids, and she could see the problems through her probe droids. They were tearing apart both the insurgents and the few Festerers they had encountered, which was also unfortunate. Both the palace coup was being foiled, and the attack on the Great Seal had only resulted in some Jedi deaths and some damage to the seal itself. But... perhaps the situation was still salvageable in some way.

It would just require her to use the other Festerers and attack the Kindalo again, draw the Alliance into the tunnels to deal with the situation. Another groundquake shook the ground she stood on, indicating to her the tree people below were still angry... and susceptible to being pushed over the edge. With a flick of her hand and application of the dark side, she commanded the Festerers back down into the tunnels. As a group, they all began burrowing down into the underground world of the Kindalo, creating several large holes that would expose them to the surface air as they combined their digging claws and acidic saliva to cut through the earth.

Even as her Festerers burrowed to carry out her will and kill as many Kindalo as possible, she recalled her probe droids, cut off communications with her allies and settled herself into her ship. She would direct the actions of her Festerers from there until they inevitably were destroyed by the Alliance and their friends.

"Teyr is the planet," the woman muttered. Thankfully that planet wasn't too far away. Or maybe it was a bad thing. Because if the boy stoped his travels so often in so nearby areas, he was an easy threat for the people who chased him.

That was quite a dilemma. But he really needed the ship because his own was toast.

"Alright. So what do I have to smuggle?" Thel finally agreed to the woman's conditions. The two had slowly moved closer to each other, so now they were barely whispering. It was a sensitive and illegal topic, though, so they needed to talk quietly. "If it's something outrageous, I'm out."

The boy was a part-time smuggler, meaning he'd done some smuggling stuff and was willing to do what whenever needed, but he wouldn't consider it his real job. Because to be honest, he had better stuff to do. Some more legal stuff to do. Doing some one-day works on different planets throughout the galaxy was a lot easier than having to worry about his and everybody else's safety while moving around things and people.

"That's a secret. But that's nothing huge. Just a shipful of stuff. We can do this."

"Huh, you wish," the boy said. He had no desire to do stuff like this.

Work was being done to turn Devaron into the Galactic Alliance's (or at least an affiliate) communications hub. At the same time, though, Aneya and Xander were on a holiday on the nearby planet of Teyr. It was a fantastic place to visit and was full of different tourist attractions the couple really wanted to see at all costs.

At that moment, however, the two were spending time in the beach, sunbathing a little bit and enjoying cold drinks. The slightly chilly breeze from the sea, as well as the white soft foam of the tides made Aneya feel truly at rest.

"It's good to take some time off every now and then," she acknowledged for the fifth time in the last three months. She had quite a solid pay, so taking holidays every now and then was her thing. And Sullust Central News Network could manage on their own for a few days. With the girl's assistant in control of the media stuff, she believed there would be no complications. Because there had never been them before when she was away from work.

Xander was also a really warm-hearted guy when it came to taking time off. He allowed the three editor-in-chiefs a lot of freedom to rest, as long as the work and reputation of the newspapers didn't suffer from that.

However, one sad thing was that the three's holidays rarely matched up. All three took time off at different times, partly to ensure the two other newspapers wouldn't suffer while one's EiC was gone, and partly because they never really tried to coordinate their holidays that much.

"Yeah," Xander agreed. His life was practically a constant vacation, so there was no point of talking about his times off.

So the Iron Protector was behind the rapid-response teams? she thought, while reminded that said rapid-response teams would be making landfall soon. Because they were mostly surplus B2 battle droids, with one organic for a commander, which remain outside, they would be able to slip inside the holes the Festerers left behind near the damaged Great Seal. Cathul seems to be in a somewhat better position now to use more spells by now, but she knew her computational power isn't going to be optimal or "at maximum", which limited her options. Oh and the groundquakes made the job difficult for the droids, meaning that she needed to make a tight maneuver with her broomstick to face this new wave of Festerer attacks on the underground. That said, B2s may prove to be vulnerable to the Festerers' saliva, but if they fan out they might have a chance to take a few Festerers with them. She had to make it quick before the Kindalo groundquake would completely block the hole but, at the same time, more Festerers are digging down their holes, with Cathul casting Force-stasis on the Festerer that went down her hole.

It was a joy, to hear Lord Fa break free from the cadence of his Haiku. It was a tell. One that spoke of comfort and ease. That he could do so with Saffron pleased the Companion. Offering the utmost respect, she did not draw attention to it. Instead, she simply continued discussing as if in a simple conversation between trusted confidantes.

"Perhaps, that would be an interesting endeavor." Saffron began. While Arceneau Trade only had minor cloning facilities, they were limited. It was not their expertise.

"I would be more than happy to relay the offer." she added, followed by a delicate cup of the porcelain.

Compassion shone in her hazel eyes.

"No, I do not expect it to be. You are most generous to undertake such a project." a pause, "PharmaTech has done much with the restoration of Corellia. I would be happy to offer their services in environmental detoxification and terraforming." nothing like having a subject matter expert for feedback.

Makai frowned at the new messages. So were they having dinner or not? Why did Ellie have to be so cryptic? Either way, it would easy enough to circumvent and invite Miss Arceneau to dinner with his Dad. Ellie would have to come along then.

Girls.

[Deep sea diving in the Rift. Well....not me, just helping. Water is cold out here.]

He was used to tropical temperatures, not that of the deep ocean. Not that he was diving that far down. Just wasn't tropical enough for the Galan to feel at ease without a wetsuit.

[Trade stations? Orbital? Sounds really cool. Dad says the traffic is good here....something about space lanes. Not sure.]

It took a bit of resistance to ask where she was. It would be easy enough to find out later on the in day, perhaps his father knew where the Arceneaus were staying. Probably was best not to come off like some desperate stalker. Play it cool.

Even as friends and close confidants there was still that little dance between the two of them.

Both of them had their interests and companies to think about, which was nothing to be concerned about. In fact, Lord Fa enjoyed these little talks, the messages behind the messages and the subtlest of hints scattered around. It made him feel alive, especially with someone as cordial and experienced as Saffron here. Tai acknowledged her with the gentle incline of his beak.

"I would be happy to consider your offer." The Thirriken responded swiftly and she would notice he used exactly the same words as she, as a little teasing gesture between the two of them.

"I suspect Arceneau Trade would be most interested in helping Fa Holdings with bringing trade back to Humbarine, yes?"

Any other day Tai Fa would have jealously guarded the trade in and from the Humbarine Sector, especially from giant commerce concern as Arceneau Trade, yet, this time there was more at stake than his pride or just marginal profits. His merchant fleet was growing and perhaps one day would be able to rival ATC, but that was not this day and the Sector needed the connections that ATC possessed.

"Besides restoring their infrastructure and the ecosystems of their ruined worlds, we will need trade to flow. The life blood of commerce to reinvigorate the sector's resolve."
